With my galaxys3 I was able to assign each contact ringtone, and notification separately. Now I have bought the HTC 816. Here I can only assign ringtone in contacts. Is there no way per contact assign a seperaat notification sound its own?
Hi it is possible just go into the people app and find the specific contact and select the contact towards the bottom of the page there's a button on the screen that allows you to assign different ringtones hope that helps

your welcome Ah ok how I did it was set the ringtone in the people app like I described then I use handcent sms app and set notifications for the contacts In there sorry don't know how to do it otherwise hopefully someone else will pop in and help

Hi,
Even i am facing this issue.
Whenever i set a ringtone for the contact, same ringtone plays for both call and messages.
Please help, thanks for your support.

I've been searching all the menu's to no avail...
Go to each app and set the notifications from there. Don't know about the Facebook one. Don't really use it.

Can't find an option in the default mail app...?
How do you set your own picture? You know, in the messaging app where it says Me: but has the gray box there? When I was running Sense it grabbed my FB picture, but now it's blank. I tried setting up a contact with my number, email, and full name and it didn't work. I even tried setting the name to Me, still no dice. Anyone found out how to do this? I'm running CM7 right now.
Settings>Call settings>additional settings>set phone number
Then make a contact out of your number then put a picture..

I just added myself to my contact list because I text myself a lot of reminders and eventually put a pic for my own contact card thing.

What rom r u using?? I think this is for CM roms only, other roms should be reading your sim card number..

One thing which has been bugging me is the I never get notifications from my phone (in the notification bar of phone) when I get notifications in the facebook app. My phone doesnt buzz, make a sound nothing. Is this just with me or is there something wrong?? in the app settings I enable all sorts lf notification vibratin etc but It never works. My freind has a HTC Desire and his phone notifies him! Is there a solution?

add your FB to accounts and sync. You can do this either from Settings>accounts and sync> add account or from the app itself.

Tried to post in the relevant thread but didn't realize I need 10 posts. What I would like to know is how do i set separate tones for sms and notifications? I'm sure I was able to in previous versions/roms. If somebody could repost this in the jelly time thread would be much appreciated.

You probably need to go into the settings of the SMS application you use. If that doesn't solve anything try using GO SMS from the store. It's free and it's a speedy sms app that lets you customize a lot. You can have your own sms notif separate from the system.
mount your phone as a drive and you will see foldrrs - ringtones --- notifications ----- drop your sounds in them -- unmount restart then wander in sound settings
There is nothing in the settings menu of jelly time.. So by the sounds of it a messaging app is my only option

Guys I too have a problem. First off I can't see any of my Sim Contacts. Second there's no FM Radio. Also I wanna install Beats Audio!!

did you not backup before wiping, if so import back in , outlook, google contacts etc- i never save contacts to simm so other than that cant help

figured it out, had to assign sms its own ring time through the settings menu of the actaul message interface. Can you tell me the difference between "JellyBean - JELLYTIME for DHD/Inspire4g" (which I am currently using) and "UnOfficial AOKP JellyBean Nightlies"??
About the jellytime rom i amnot trying to complain or affend rb :goodi know he works very hard and has a family to take care of but people on the the development say that it is super buttery smooth but there is still some work to be done to the smoothness of it i cant wait till he gets triple buffering completely working
