[Q] Have unlocked SM-217A. Any good data-only alternatives to AT&T? - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone using an unlocked SM-217A with a carrier other than AT&T? I am exploring if there are cheaper or more cost-effective plans other than AT&T. I also don't know what carriers this tablet would be compatible with, besides T-Mobile.

Best buys "exclusive'

So I have T-Mobile here as well as my girl. I'm getting mine from T-Mobile 1week from know when its available on T-Mobile. My girl wants the golden one but HTC shafted T-Mobile by not making it a best buy exlcusive who has no deals with T-Mobile. My question is if an at&t model will work on tmobile if anyone out there has tried or are they carrier locked?
Most likely not unlocked imo.

I can tell you that the Verizon model is unlocked and will work with LTE and HSPA+ on T-mobile but only HSPA+ on At&t...

[Q]Will unlocked Verizon LG G3 work on T-Mobile?

I have an S5 that I'm about to trade for the LG G3, however, the guy is using it on ATT and claims it's originally from Verizon and is unlocked, hence, why it's working on ATT.
My question is, will this device work on TMobile? I live in Miami, FL if it matters.
I would recommend sell S5 and buy T-Mobile branded G3, or trade for one. You can do either on swappa.com.

If its Verizon branded then it should be unlocked in which case yes any GSM carrier. I'm pretty sure all new Verizon smartphones are global these days.
All LTE Verizon phones released in the last few years are gsm capable and can work on tmob and at. The S5 can also. Just need to switch to global and for data add the correct APN settings

Unlocked in Canada for Virgin Mobile?

Anyone know what the release timeframe is for an unlocked version of this phone, or whether I can just buy a Rogers version and unlock it via a code purchased online? Does the Rogers version support all the same bands that the Verizon one does (specifically B4 and B7 LTE, 850/1900 3g for Virgin Canada)?
The phone seems to be available for purchase right now, but I don't really want to rush into anything without knowing it'll work for sure.
I understand you want to use the Z Play on Virgin Mobile Canada. In that case, Rogers has it retail $650 CAD. Verizon Wireless is CDMA, meaning your worst option for LTE on other carriers. Watch for a promo on Koodo. Was $360 on subsidy during the holidays. Retail US for ~$605 CAD if you buy the unlocked version in the states. Not big savings as unlock codes are $3 on eBay.

AT&T SM-T837 smartphone sim?

I have a pretty good deal on an AT&T Galaxy Tab S4 T837, and I was wondering I if get it unlocked, would it work with a T-Mobile smartphone sim? I know it doesn't have a dialer or native texting like the international model, and I know it wouldn't work with an AT&T smartphone sim, but since it would be a different carrier maybe it wouldn't know the difference? I happen to have a smartphone line that I'm not using on T-Mobile, and I don't want to buy a separate tablet plan.
