Side sync not with S5? - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

They advertise the side sync feature mainly touting the S5, but I've been able to get it working with my note 3 however, I am unable to type in side sync. In their demos with the S5 a little keyboard comes up on the Tab S and your able to type on the S5 with it, but no go here. Anyone else tried side sync that's NOT using a S5?

Using a S4 it works for me. But I have latest hyperdrive rom on phone. IDK if that makes a difference.

Which keyboard are you using, S5?

It seems I've answered my own question. I installed the S5 keyboard and it now works just fine, typing this up with it in fact!

Ah makes sense. I'm wondering if lg g3 will be compatible with sidesync. Maybe wishful thinking but that'll be my next phone.

[Q] Can anyone modify the Samsung Remote app so it fills the screen?

It won't let you download the app from the market to the Galaxy Nexus, but you can use another device to grab it and it installs fine on the Galaxy Nexus. The only problem is that it is like half the size of the screen, and is centered in the middle.
Is there some easy way to just stretch it to fit the Galaxy Nexus screen? (I mean for someone who mods .apks?
I'm just mainly curious if it could be done. I suppose I can use my Nexus S to try it on my new TV that is coming next week.
Post the apk and I'll take a crack at it. Will be monday before i get back to my laptop though.

*Bump*
Would anybody be able to supply me with this apk? I've tried searching the web but all I get are 1000s of versions that won't install on my nexus.
Thanks a lot.
Apparently SamyGo works. And maybe try this one?
Tried SamyGo a few weeks ago, and it didn't work for me. Installed it today and it works like a charm. Strange, looks like SamyGo was updated since my last try.
P.S.: My TV is a Samsung UE40D5000

SamyGoRemote does indeed work. Unfortunately, what I really want, is the ability to use my phone's keyboard for entering data, as using the arrow keys on the remote control is a pain. SamyGo doesn't allow for that.
Thanks for the suggestion, though
@peadrog found something that works fine for me, unfortunately the density does not match the GNx so its kinda small....
maybe one of you guys can fix that?

ASUS Supernote 3.1.0 from PadFone 2

This is the supernote 3.1 from Asus PadFone 2
I was able to get this app working on our phone.
I only tested on my wife's and my nexus 4. But I would imagine that it also works on other Jellybean devices as well.

Seems to work great. Just missing page navigation buttons when in a notepad. Works great on my Xoom too running 4.0.4. Syncs well between the two. An ability to add remember needs would make this my top notepad/to do list but will have to stick with catch (functions nowhere near the same but can set reminders).
This is very much like the snote app on s3 and note, but with better sync.
Better link to same file here: http://goo.gl/IuMPt
Awesome app! I've only made a couple notes but it seems to be working flawlessly. Thanks!

Use Density Changer change the DPI from 320 (stock) to 300 and reboot. You will see the soft keys from vertical too.

Handwriting to text conversion
Hi, my friend has this on his Padfone 2. I downloaded this as well. We see that this is the same version 3.1.0.9.0.
However, everything is the same except for one feature. He has this button just left of the Trashcan button, that is for conversion of handwriting to text. It works pretty well. In the Settings menu, he has one extra option to select what language for 'Recognition Language', referring to the handwriting feature.
Do you see this option? I'm thinking the app knows that it's not being used on an Asus and disables this? I'm using Samsung Galaxy S3.
Thanks!

[Q] Where's the quick control???

Hey guys. I have been using the stock browser with quick control tab (the one you can enable bby going to setting > labs) but the stock browser on my S4 does not have this option. Can you tell me how I can get this feature to work on S4? Quick control tab was available on my Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7, and even Note 2. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
The stock browser is customized by the manufacturer for each device. Unfortunately I don't believe Samsung 'blessed' our devices with the lab features.

Thanks for your quick reply. That doesn't make any sense because all the other Samsung devices had that feature... Is there a way to enable that on our S4 by any chance? I even looked for different version of stock browser on the Google Play store but I couldn't find one.

I hate giving this kind of response, but have you tried Chrome yet? It runs *really* well on the S4. Chrome Beta is available too with the advanced lab features.
I like Chrome a lot but it's just not the same without the Labs feature. Does the Chrome Beta have it by any chance?

I don't know if I'm going crazy but Chrome Beta does NOT have the Labs option that enables the quick control feature. I just downloaded and tried it.

[Answered] Pen Input Not Turning to Text

I have a Note 3 and the pen input/keyboard works fine. I write words, and it converts it to text (quite accurately I might add).
However, I have two Note 10.1 (2014) tablets, and neither of them ever convert my writing into text. My handwriting just sits there, never putting text into whatever field I want it to go into.

Weird. I have the same problem but in reverse. While texting, my Note 3 doesn't convert my handwriting. But on the 2014 10.1, it does it flawlessly!

Okay... that's super creepy.
What is really weird is that I have two 2014's that are acting the same way. And one is 16GB and one is 32GB.

Sweet - I don't know why I didn't think to do a system update (guess I figured it'd fly over via the Play Store).

The Galaxy Note 3 Experience

Hey Guys,
This is my first post and i am trying to bring something useful and try to be as much active as possible and as a thanks to the hard work from the
developers for their solid Custom ROMS
Ever been curious about using a Note device, but never given one a try? Well Samsung is hoping that an app in the Play Store called the Galaxy Note 3 Experience will help you discover all of its great features. You get a chance to watch some promo videos, and live interactive full-screen tutorials showing how features work on the Note 3 on whatever device you currently use.
to get it go to
Google Play and search for
"GALAXY Note 3 Experience"
thank you
Moved to Themes and Apps Forum.
Thank you.
interesting way to market the Note3. i used to have a note2, but I sold it for the S4. the size killed it for me.
I totally agree they want this phone sale to try and beet the Iphone 5c but there no much a big of a difference between the s4 and note 3 beside the big screen and some minor features that they are not worth the extra money.

The Note2 has something called popup browser where you can open an internet browser window (samsung's browser only I think) and move it anywhere on screen. I'm not aware of popup browser on the S4. The Note3 expands the popup window to work with other apps. The Note2 and 3's multitasking abilities are amazing. Multiwindow is just the tip of the ice burg. Too bad it's so big and heavy (inconvenient to carry in pant pockets). I don't think I'll get another phone that's larger than 5 inches (screen).
let us see the S5 and the new features that will come

Someone needs to port/hack the s-pen features via aircommand so we can use it on the s4 on 4.3 we have the s-pen settings its just hidden. To activate it you will need to download Google gesture search from the play store open it up write “PEN" and it should pop up “pen settings" open that up and you'll see all the pen features.

The word is that it won't update as fast as the nexus 5 and will be much more bloated with even more gimmicky features that nobody will use... Probably loaded with Knox as well

Yes I know you can't use the s-pen on our phone. I said if someone can implement/dirty hack “aircommand" so that we can use aircommamd as the s-pen with our finger.
