[q] i want to buy the htc desire 816, but will it support my network? - Desire 816 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello
i want to buy the HTC from here http://www.merimobiles.com/htc-desire-816w-android-4-4-5-5-inches-smartphone_p/meri8570.htm
but i dont know if its support 3G 850mhz because in the official site it said it support
HSPA/WCDMA :
850/900/2100 MHz HSDPA+ up to 42Mbps
LTE : 900/1800/2100/2600 MHz Up to 150Mbps
and another question do know other site that sell the phone in cheap price?
thank you

These days almost all good phones are supporting all networks unless you are from very third world countries whose network may be on very low frequency range.

Will HTC Desire works with Rogers 3G network at Canada ?

Hi everyone,
I want Desire so badly
I asked the HTC if they are going to make one for north America
They said
"I certainly understand your interest in the newest in HTC's family of smart mobile devices. Regarding the Desire, all that has been announced at this point in time is that it will be broadly available to customers across major European and Asian markets in early Q2. The HTC Desire will be exclusively available in Australia through Telstra. Nothing has been stated yet about any possible release in North America (including Canada), although I do feel the need to point out that no announcement at this time certainly does not mean that it will never be available over here. For the latest news, keep an eye on htc.com and our Twitter account at twitter.com/htc. "
and then I went to Rogers and asked them this :
Hi, I was wondering if the HTC Desire will work with 3G bands frequency
of your network ? HTC Desire 3G bands frequencies are 900/2100 mhz
the answered me with
"The 3G frequency that we are using is 1900 and 2100. It is likely that
the phone you are inquiring about will work on our network on the 2100
3G frequency, however we cannot guarantee it because we can't guarantee
full service with phones that were not purchased from Rogers as they
were never tested on the Rogers network."
So what do you think , will it work
right now am
anyone can conform this .

Desire under AT&T

Hi, I'm planning to buy one of unlocked Desire on Ebay. there is only one thing bother me. Will desire work under AT&T's 3G network? I know it will definitely work under 2G(EDGE) network, but how about 3G?
I think AT&T uses 850/1900/2100 Mhz band, and the Desire support 1900/2100 Mhz, will that works?
BTW: I'm in Illinois if you are trying to say AT&T is using different band in different states.
thank you very much

[Q] 3G not working on AT&T US on DHD bought in Singapore

Hello Guys,
I am new to this forum and need some help with my DHD which I bought in Singapore.
I am using it in US with AT&T and unfortunately I am not getting 3G eventhough i have 3G service. I am getting EDGE after setting up the APN. Please let me know if there is a way to get this phone working on 3G. I have already called HTC and AT&T and they mentioned that there might be difference in the frequencies.
Thanks
DHD UMTS (3g) is 900/2100 MHz, check what your carrier provides.
My particular carrier in Thailand, TRUE, only broadcasts 850 UMTS, others here use 900/1900/2100.

HTC Desire in USA

Hi everybody, I am going to live in the US for a semester and I want an american number. I found the possibility of buying a Sim Card on T-Mobile and use it with my unlocked phone. The problem is that my phone does not appear in the list of compatible phones. My phone is HTC Desire (Bravo), European model. In the box it appears the following: GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and HDSPA/WCDMA 900/2100.
Will I get 3G? I've talked to several operators, each one tells me a different thing. There was even one who asked for my IMEI and told me 3G would work 100% sure. Others tell me that I won't only get EDGE speed.
Who can clarify this? It is REALLY important. I LOVE my cellphone, I don't want one of those prepaid phones that are crap, I'd only buy another phone if it would be better than mine, but they are really expensive and it has no sense to buy a cellphone for 4 months when I have one cellphone that I love.
WHAT CAN I DO? I will use data on a daily basis to connect with my family overseas!
Most of US carriers use 850 and 1900MHz for GSM and 1700 and 1900 for HSPA and WCDMA, so I think you won't have luck with 3G, but the rest will do perfectly.

Correct. Edge aka 2g data is all you will get for now. [IF YOU ARE ABLE TO OBTAIN AN OLDER MICROSIM, IF NOT, NO DATA FOR YOU]
You see, T Mo USA uses their 1900 MHz PCS band exclusively for 2g traffic. 3g data (HSPA) and "4g" (HSPA+) is used in the 1700/2100 AWS bands.
T Mobile is reframing their 3g and HSPA+ to the 1900 MHz band and will have true 4g (4th generation) LTE on those 1700/2100 AWS frequencies (previously used for 3g).
I have the international One X on T Mobile USA and am patiently waiting for the network to modernize their infrastructure. Supposedly, between now and the end of the year.

And I believe this is the Quad-Core section, not the Dual-Core as in the AT&T One X.
I believe it will still be on edge only until T-Mobile makes the switch to 3g on the 1900 band and I think with the att one x has the same situation that you have to use the older T-Mobile micro sim to get edge to work I also came from the one s and data is not working for me.

If you get the full size mini Sim then cut it down that should work.
I've been using the One X Global on T-Mo and it hasn't bothered me one bit. You could probably save some moolah and drop down to the 250mb/month plan.

I want to trade for att version. So ur saying that if I get a normal size sim card then cut it out it will work with 4g ?

Guys, the HTC One X(L) (neighter of them) will work with T Mobile's current 3g bands (AWS 1700/2100). You will only get Edge/2g data-REGARDLESS of SIM card.
HOWEVER, T Mobile USA is currently restructuring their network to provide 3g data and 3g+ data (what they currently call "4g") to the 1900 MHz band which our One X and MANY other phones (in and out of the US) use for 3g data.
So, my friend, you WILL get 3g data at some point, however when that will be is unknown. According to press releases (available on T Mobile's website), are investing 4 billion to make this happen. Also consider that there are a few cities reporting 3g speeds on their iPhone's and so it is happening. I have spoken to T Mobile and they are telling me it is simply a matter of time.:fingers-crossed:
