Free dropbox space? - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

SO I just got my Tab S, and when setting it up it said i'd get 50 free gigs of dropbox for 2 years. Well, I signed in, and nothing. I didn't seem to get it. has anyone else gotten theirs?

Did Dropbox come pre-loaded right out of the box?
I am guessing it did. I believe, but don't remember exactly - once you sign in to Dropbox with your new device they will send you an email. You have to follow the link in the email to get the free temporary upgrade.

yeah because during the samsung setup when i turned it on, it told me i got the 50 gigs for 2 years and asked me to sign in. i did, and nothing happened.

think i found the answer. that's such BS.

If you have already claimed free space from a previous samsung promotion you can't have another on the same account. You need to set up a new account.

You can create a new account and still get the 50gb. I did the same thing on my s5.
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

I only had 2Gb when I loaded the app and created an account, but I went through the 5 step process via the website to get the 48Gb upgrade just now, so seems like it should be possible to upgrade.

Send out mass invites and for each person that downloads the app ,you receive 500mb free space
Nexus 5 via Tapatalk

Or you just get an Office 365 Student subscription and get 1TB.

Well, you're still gonna have to pay the 1.67$ per month, but you get all the office apps + the mentioned 1TB. More storage than you'll ever need. Finally time to turn on these automatic uploads . http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/university/

seems like it's over already, i just checked it's no longer available
on the bright side, i didn't want it anyways
i like the stock office app from samsung better, or the ThinkFree Office, those 2 are the best IMO
Polaris doesn't open all the documents for me. Often says "not enough memory" so docs 2 go is my default. That's a great deal.

[Q] How do I avail the free 50GB offer from Dropbox ?

I signed into my existing dropbox account and all it shows is 2GB. How do I get the 50gb that was promised? I just moved from the iPhone to the Note II. So far so good Been only a few hours since I got it.
Thanks
Check your email links. Use them and you will get the remaining 48gb
Ps. Thumbs up for the change from iPhone.

If you have a gmail account, it already does that, sorta. Photos will back up to G+/Picasa, apps are "backed up" with your play account, though their settings aren't. SMS won't get backed up. I usually just install titanium backup and have it do a full backup every friday night. That gets everything.
How do I go to the top of a webpage when I'm at the bottom of the page with a single touch/click?

Hi,
When you scroll down in Dolphin HD browser, you normally get an arrow pointing up on the bottom right of the screen. Touch it to go up to top.
Cheers!!
I cant do that in the default browser or chrome? Imagine scrolling all the way to the top from a multipage document!

People who purchase the new eligible Samsung Galaxy Camera and Galaxy Note II and complete the Dropbox get started guide (dropbox.com/gs) can get 50 GB free space for two years.

Try going to dropbox.com/gs in your device after installing Dropbox app and logging in. I am still waiting to receive my Note 2 and hence can't confirm this works.
does anyone know if the offer is stackable? got 50GB's from when i bought my S3, So i'm wondering if i'll get another 50 from the Note II
I'm in the same situation. They are not stackable.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
+1 I received it once for my Note 10.1 but nothing for Note II!!! Disappointing! I did pay money for both of them!
If you have already claimed the offer from a previous Samsung device and wonder why you don't or have double the space here is your answer.
If you log on to your desktop version and go to your settings then bonus space , you will see that you already claimed the Samsung promotion, the promotion isn't model specified, its pretty much the original "Samsung Promotion" you received covers all the Samsung devices you activate. Each user is only eligible for one Samsung Promotion of this type for a single account.
https://www.dropbox.com/help/338
If you did get the bonus promo on your previous device and your new device don't get comfy cause you wont keep it for long. Dropbox is good good/fast at claiming double offers back.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
So if I availed of the bonus space on my s3 and log in on my note 2 years later then it will give me another 50gb for 2 years again?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
No you won't. Blah I edited that part out. Everything is explained in the dropbox website link I attached regarding the Samsung Promo. After the promo expires unless they run a new promo of some sort you automatically will be downgraded according to their promo terms. I will be claiming my Note II bonus space on a different email account and will just use shared folders between my two dropbox accounts.

Dropbox?

Is Dropbox offering 50gb free with this device or no?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
Yes, I think I got 48 gb after signing into it
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
Same, took a few min after signing in, but it eventually kicks off an email letting you know about the added size.
I didn't get it because I got the same deal when I bought the S3. I bought a nexus 7 and was suppose to get it then, too, but didn't. I emailed Dropbox and they said my account is already associated with getting the 50gb once already, so no more for me.
Yes I got free 48gb on dropbox too. But I have no idea if it will stack if that's what you're asking.

Its good for 2 years

I just my 50GB of Dropbox!

About 30 minutes ago i received an email saying that I received 50GB of Dropbox for owning my "Samsung device". Since the only Samsung device I own is my AT&T galaxy note 2, its a pretty good indication that AT&T is not as greedy as I once thought it was. Want a nice little Sunday surprise. Anyone else get their free space?
EDIT: If you want your 50GB of free space, that you deserve, flash to a 4.1.2 ROM, I recommend CleanROM
I'm still at the same 222.25GB I have been for a while now.

Haha, I've managed to own three "two year free" devices, two 50's and a 25, and used to pay for the 50 which was bumped to the 100.

Interesting, I just flashed CleanROM 3.0, so that explains how i got to 4.1.2. I wonder if everyone else will get the storage upgrade with the official OTA update. Only 2 years, its *only* $100 dollars worth of cloud services. I suppose that's not a lot to some people
I just got mine too! :good:

Got my 48 GB last night
I just flashed the Jedi-X3.3 ROM on my phone and got the dropbox guru email last night giving me 53 GB total. I was disappointed when I read on dropbox's website that AT&T customers would not qualify for the free space promotion, but flashing the ROM seemed to get around that.
Flashed miscom's N7105 rom on and upgraded!
is this somehow tied to your phone? can i unlink and link to another dropbox and get another 50 GB?

If you have already received 50 gigs through another promotion it certainly won't work.
Just a little tip, you can sign up multiple accounts and receive the 50 gigs for each
And yes, the 50 gigs u get are for LIFE, you just need to sign up before this year ends!

Nice!! I've always used the hacked cloud storage apps to get free storage, but they always delete it after a week or so. I just ordered my Nexus yesterday, so this time I'll actually get to keep the storage!!!
Thanks for the heads-up about this!!! I've been looking for a solution that has a decent free storage limit since Nexus storage isn't ever expandable
