Porting a rom - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...-ehndroix-14-7-14-smooth-stable-slim-t2814753
Would it be possible to port this ROM to our device? With the devs permission of course! The ROM itself looks insane!!

Bump

I would say it's the perfect time for you to learn how to port ROM
The current ROM Dev already have their own work to take care of so they usually don't have time for side project like that (when you add real life and such).

Porting Enhdroix is pretty easy. Seriously, I did it with no experience at all. Find a similar device to your device and (if you still find yourself clueless) use a rom porter tool!

So, you can make a post asking for a ROM but can't navigate XDA?
Cyanogenmod is your best bet.
Since Huawei didn't sign their apps properly, we can't decompile stock apps and make them look like AOSP ( Stock Android ). We can use Huawei's themer app, but that only goes as far as images no xml's.
Tip: If you have no idea what I was talking about in this post, you are probably not ready for custom Roms and need to do some more reading and learning.
Goodluck.
PAC MAN Rom is the best i used for this phone imo.

I agree with above, Cyanogenmod is by far the best one we have at the moment.

Thank you. My P6 is still very new and I am a bit reluctant to tamper with it, but the lack of native Android SIP is one irritating issue that pushes me closer to flashing something...
Well in my opinion the best one is Pac-Man B120 firmware
MIUI

What about MIUI?

Miui or Emotion rom,anyone?

I don't want to discredit the miracles all friends here doing.Really, some ROMs can turn our phones into spaceships(!)with all those features. But if i'll see another cm-based rom here,i will slit my wrist(not to mention that CM-based roms have issues AND they're not compatible with some system ZenUI apps, like flip cover, radio or Splendid)! There are some really nice looking "skins"of Android firmware, like Miui or EMUI,with really cool features, too! Will someone give them a shot?!

You know, our phone is x86 based and this is a major reason why we'll never got such roms like MIUI, LewaOS or EMUI it's rather dificalt to build it or to port it to our phone.
We don't see miui because the patchrom is only on android 4.4 which our device never got so we don't have drivers for that and it is really hard to port from another phone since the zf2 has and x86 intel processor

first of all your thread is in wrong place
I don't get you guys i mean you are talking like we can easily build port bla bla ... but we are not doing
i mean why you guys try to do that by yourself instead of commanding us to do that
yeah miui just got a patch rom for 5.0 now one of our devs is trying to bring it up when we had chance believe me my friend we are trying that just before you tell us
As i said,i don't want to descredit the huge work you're all doing and definitely not going to "command" anyone. And it seems i will never understand where is the right place to post here!I'm glad to hear this is going to happen!Thank you for your reply and the hard work you're all doing, really!
I wonder: Why is this thread on development section?
I personally agree with @Nyks45.
MIUI's patchrom source is available (and updated to use 6.0 as base), but I don't think devs could port MIUI to our x86 devices, since patchrom files are for arm (and arm64 (?)).

MIUI8's patchrom uses 6.0 as base ROM.
EDIT:
By the way, if someone could manage to port it without any major problems, I myself would greatly appreciate it in any way.
Sent from my ASUS_Z00A using XDA Labs
but can we port Nexus experience rom? just asking if possible
Well,
CM13 Is A Very Stable rom so why can't we use CM sources combined with MIUI?
@adaa1262
You can't use the CM13 MIUI roms because the compilations with MIUI are for Snapdragon processors not for Intel
Each processor type have their own tree for the builds

karthick's cm14.1 is it 4 real?

I've searching for karthick111's cm11 folder, then i saw a folder called "cm14.1" with a zip called "cm14.1-20161220UNNOFICIAL-nevisp" and i downloaded and flashed it but it bootloops :'v
Does anybody know if it's usable or a wip?
Pd. There a bootable cm13 rom that i'm using to write this :v
I'm sorry if i had a bad engish, i'm a mexican :v

Yeah... I have just flashed it, but it has been in a bootloop for 20+ minutes already. Needless to say, this is probably a test/WIP CM14.1 build that @karthick mostwanted is testing for the Galaxy Fame to see if it will work at all. From what I am aware of, later CM ROMs (CM13, 14, and 14.1) will not work as well as they should on this device as it is low-end and doesn't have the RAM or processing power that is required, however, CM13 is fairly usable from what I have tried, but I still find the CM11 (KitKat 4.4.4) ROMs to be the best. Then again, it is always good to keep and eye on and test the latest builds that the developers release, as I have seen some older devices get ROMs which shouldn't work on them because of their hardware, but do, because the developer is able to configure it to make it work.
I'm disappointed
I don't know why everyone being stalkers
The work is not even done yet and u guys are posting it here without my permissions
Yes in next build I will try to brick the device badly if this persists again
If the work is done I will share it for sure
Don't irritate developers by doing this way

Fair enough, but I assumed that since it was publicly available to view and download, then it should be okay to publicly discuss about the development surrounding the ROM/s, but I guess not.
Thank you for the time and effort you put into these builds and the continuation of custom ROM development for this device.

when making the thread you have to select from dropdown about what android version you are building so android O is probably not available yet that is why he selected N.
Is RIL working good?
I can help test this ROM if calling, etc is working
How long we can expect a next update? And are you looking forward to supporting this rom in the future?
Thanks for the work.
Volte is not working .
Hello thanks hogger,
There's something called courtesy. When it's really clear that Davide was working on AEX and fixing things, it was a bad move for you to post a build with his sources before he posted his build. He is focusing on quality and trying to fix all major bugs before releasing instead of giving people half baked stuff. So I'd suggest you get this thread closed and not pull such stuff in the future.
Regards,
Another person who was able to boot oreo but is waiting for Davide to release his stuff first
So far, loving the ROM. I've been waiting for this ROM for a long time now. And here are few things
Cons:
VoLTE not working
Recents tiles are inverted
Camera doesn't work as expected.
Heating can be expected.
Pros:
Smooth for an initial build
Android O, period
Its simple and clean.
Hi sir,
Your work is amazing, i can't even imagine how you managed to fork my great and better than you fellow friend Davide's device trees and compiled the rom.
Truly amazing sir.
I admire your work, I still can't think how much brains would it be needed for making an unofficial thread even when Davide(my great and better than you fellow friend) didn't gave a word of quitting the AospExtended.
You are truly awesome and Davide's(my great and better than you fellow friend) work will not be as good as yours i think.
Thanks a lot for your true hardwork rather than Davide's(my great and better than you fellow friend) simple bug fixing work.
Thanks again.
I wanna donate you rather than donating hard working Davide(my great and better than you fellow friend)
Regards,
Harvey Spectar

ROMs for J200 G

Please provide some links for good ROMs for model J200G . Just installed TWRP. I found many models here , and iam a bit confused. Is there any nougat ROMs or do I need to stay with marshmallow ROMs ?
I don't think there are good custom roms like lineage or RR for j200g. They are either ports or themed ROMs and not worth the trouble.

That's sad. It was for my brother's phone. Can you please provide names of themed ROM. I will look for the bugs.. Just name them. Thanks
You need to use search function man. Heres a start:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/search/forum/6450?query=J200G
Make sure you install ROMs where its explicitly stated that the ROM is for J200G. Roms for other variants of J2 won't work and you might end up bricking.
But not worth the hassle man, seriously. They are ports of touchwiz so look almost the same minus loosing current working stock features like FM, camera etc idk. Unless there's some Lineage based ROM, I'm not installing the available ROMs. And lineage seems impossible because the device has exynos chipset
