LG G3 D851 Windows 8.1 Driver - T-Mobile LG G3

I am using an LG G3 D851 for T-Mobile
Whenever I connect my phone to the PC, it shows the following in Device Manager
CDC Serial
LGE Android Phone
LGE Android Phone
I downloaded the "LGUnitedMobileDriver_S50MAN311AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.11.3" file and LG PC Suite
I've also restarted my PC several times and turned of driver signing.
I also called LG Tech Support but they weren't any help. They said their website isn't updated and I need to wait for the "official" drivers to appear there.

I got it working in Windows 7. I'm having issues with Windows 8.1.
For Windows 7, download the drivers that I mentioned above and restart your PC. (Make sure your phone is not plugged in while you are installing the driver)
After your PC is fully loaded, plug your phone and that should do it. If it doesn't work then add the path to the driver in the ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES.

Just install LG PC Suite and do the update option under help then connect via USB and if it cannot find it, it'll ask if you want to re-install the USB drivers, do so and it'll work.
I've done the above on 8.1 and had no issues.

people still use a USB cable to connect their phones in 2014?
there are so many wireless solutions that work perfectly, why bother with USB cables?

I too am having the same issue. I have tried installing just the drivers and then installing LG PC suite. I have the same exact 3 devices listed:
CDC Serial
LGE Android Phone
LGE Android Phone
I also am on windows 8.1 update 1 (64 bit) and am very desperate to get this working so I can root my device. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

[Q] My 8.4 wifi can't connect to windows 7 pc

I have recently root my samsung tab pro 8.4 wifi version. Everything seems to work well, except USB connection to my windows7 desktop. I installed the latest version of Samsung usb driver (download from Samsung's web site for my device). Whenever I connect it, media device mode, the "installing device driver software" icon spins for couple of minutes, then I got the error of "Device driver software was not successfully installed" . In the detail dialog window, it says "MTP USB Device" failed with a red cross. what did I do wrong? thanks.
I have tried several different USB 2 ports on my computers. Also I have Developer mode turned on, with or w/o USB debugging checked. Nothing seems to work. Also the camera mode doesn't work either.
Did you install kies 3 from samsung?, this should install all the drivers you need.
http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/
I tried with this version of kies from samsung's website, not working. Got the same failed to install device driver message.
In windows device mananger, it shows a MTP USB device with yellow "!" mark on it. If I try to update driver from here with the driver installed on my computer, it says I have the latest driver installed already.

Try going to Device Manager in Windows, find the device, pick the option to select from the drivers on the computer, then pick the "USB MTP drivers" (generic, not Samsung) and see if that helps.

thanks for your help. I tried your suggestion, and
I went to the Device Manager, and select the "MTP USB Device" with yellow "!" mark, choose this menu,
Update driver software->Browse my computer for driver software->let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
I see two drivers, however either works for my 8.4 pad. It says "This device cannot start (code 10)"
Also when I open the properties for this device in device manager, it shows its driver running is from Microsoft, driver version 6.1.7600.16385. Should be a driver from Samsung?

Are you running stock TouchWiz ROM? Just to be sure.
Otherwise you could remove all your USB drivers related to Android and start from scratch with just the Sammy driver. I had to do that for my previous OnePlus One, it just wouldn't connect. It chose a wrong driver each time I hooked it up so I had to just remove those from the driver store and then make it choose another one. That was for ADB thought, but I guess it couldn't hurt to try anyways.
The reason I'm mentioning if you're on stock ROM is because this morning, on CM nightly 01-24 I had some troubles with my tablet being read by Windows, it was fixed in 26 so.. Just wanted to mention it.

Yes, I am on the stock TouchWiz ROM, but I rooted it following steps from one thread in this forum. Before rooting, I was able to connect. I do have a LG G3 phone connecting to the same computer successfully. Will this cause any problem? Will going to CM ROM solve my problem?
Also, can you tell me steps to remove all my USB drivers related to Android in Windows 7?

It may work to install CM11 or CM12, BUT try this toolfirst (uploaded to my personal box account) Find all your mobile device drivers in this list and mark them and go to "File" and click "Uninstall marked drivers", restart your PC and plug in your tablet. Then try plugging in LG after so it gets drivers later. I'm not sure if it will work. But it should apply new drivers. If it doesn't work, uninstall the drivers one more time and download the Samsung drivers from 3rd party and install them and apply then manually to your tablet through Device Manager in Windows.

Anyways, try this first.

Its always a possibility. I'd try to uninstall the LG drivers. You can always re-install later (if needed).
In a perfect world, the Sammy drivers would be what you want. But this is of course not a perfect world. I've had better luck using the "generic" Microsoft MTP USB drivers over the HTC drivers on my HTC devices.

Then restart and install a samsung driver from the thread about how to root my pad in this forum. Connect my pad, no luck. Still the same problem. I am about to give up.

Just before I about to give it up, it connects to my another computer now, which is my main computer and it had trouble connecting to. All I did was restart my pad several time and odin twrp recovery to it. It connects after rebooting. No idea what cause this problem, but it works now. thank you for all your help.

Glad you sorted it out, to some degree or other.
USB connectivity on Android devices is very tricky, at least on Windows (can't speak on other OSes). My HTC phone connects fine to my work laptop with the HTC drivers. On my home computer (also Win7) it frequently drops adb connection and I have to manually select the "generic" Microsoft drivers to make it work (and the HTC drivers never seemed to work completely right either). My Sammy Pro 8.4 seems to connect just fine to my home PC, however. So it seems its just a crap shoot what kind of connectivity you will get, really.

G3 & windows 10

I updated my PC to windows 10 'from 8.1 which I had no problem)
Now my phone is not recognized. (MTP or PTP) --> LG Androidnet phone : driver unavailable
Latest LG USB drivers (from XDA) didn't hange anything.
I think that it's the same old sh*t than win7, when you don't have mediaplayer installed (MTP works once you installed mediaplayer).
I found a package for MTP on Microsoft website, but didn't change anything
Did someone have the same issue ?
This should help :

i can't get the file for the moment.. I'm not sure If it will works. But It should.

Hi
I had the same problem. I re-installed the LG drivers for my D855 and still no luck. Then I downloaded and installed LG PC Suite, let update itself and now my G3 connect to the PC. I tried using the LG Mobile Support Tool but Windows 10 says it is incompatible. Hopefully LG will release new drivers and update the tool.

I find the way to do the job :
First : install Microsoft MTP driver
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=48231
Second : install LGUnitedMobileDriver_S52MAN314AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.14.1.exe
http://18d5a.wpc.azureedge.net/8018D5A/tool/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=UW00120120425
And then it works...
But if you wanna use download mode and fastboot this is what you will need to do also

Didn't work for me :/
I had no problems after installing windows 7. I followed this guide for my LS990: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...de-how-to-restore-sprint-lg-g3-ls990-t2852042
I can confirm this method works with D855, followed what the posts and video said to install and do. Flashed back to stock ROM and rerooted worked without a drama with Win 10 64bit.
Cheers
It works well on d855 and D331. thank you
Haha!! Found a solution!
Sorry for necro-ing this thread, but even now I still have the problem (with my d852).
My solution was to go on LG's website for my specific model and install the USB driver in Software Updates -> Way2 USB.
Again, sorry for the necro, but I don't want people in the future struggling with this.
I know this is an old thread but I just had the same problem with my Lenovo T450 laptop. A few days ago it recognized my G3 LS990 but today it wouldn't. I fixed it by installing the latest USB driver from LG's web site. http://www.lg.com/us/support/software-firmware-drivers

*Solved* LG G3 No longer connects to PC via MTP/PTP - Only Charge-only

Hi Guys,
A weird one here for you, I'm already contemplating throwing my phone at a wall that's how long I've been trying to fix it.
I have a LG G3 D855 Gold 32gb model purchased via Kogan in Australia.
The unit is now on Android 5.0 (no updates available for 5.1+) - Software Version V20i-SEA-XX with Build number LRX21R.A1440645925.
This phone is non-rooted with stock ROM etc.
So the issue at hand, I upgraded my Win7 PC via the upgrade option to Win10 to retain my games/files etc.
Now when connecting the phone to the PC it only goes to charging mode and I am unable to click on it within the drop-down to change it to anything else.
I have tried LG G3 drivers, Googles generic drivers, ADB suite drivers. I am unable to adb find the phone, I do not have an Acer Composite device in Device Manager.
Win 10 keeps saying the device is not recognised/malfunctioned.
Tried different cords, double checked the connector on the phone for any dust specs etc.
My PC refuses to work with any driver I have thrown at it, however in each scenario with various drivers, warnings still persist in Device Manager.
Some of the drivers force the phone to connect/reconnect and cause the "ping" sound each time it disconnects and reconnects (with malfunction warning prompts).
This is on Win10 with 64bit Home edition.
I am at my wits end and can't think of anything I haven't tried beyond a factory reset of my phone (hoping not to at this stage as I'm thinking it's driver-related).
It won't let me tether or anything via USB also, same goes with USB debugging, no change.
Lastly which may also help narrow it down, with the phone plugged in BEFORE it gets to the OS, I can change between PTP/MTP and USB charge, however once the Win10 OS loads up, it disconnects/malfunctions and lists Charge Only.
And yes, this phone can connect on my Win7 small PC which I use for testing crap out on.
Any ideas guys?
Let me know if any log files or anything is required.
At this stage I am unable to do a root to the phone (due to adb issues etc) nor can I connect to the internal phone system unless I use in the in-built file explorer.
Edit: *SOLVED*
Ok so turns out the issue is, and this is just my case, my motherboard has various utilities, one of which is a USB 3.0 boost option.
When I did an upgrade to Windows 10, it somehow screwed up various programs on my PC including registry etc.
I reinstalled the particular utility (I was actually trying to fix my graphics clock etc so happy coincidence) which also re-installs the USB 3.0 Boost software which in turn has fixed my USB Ports.
So if you have a custom built PC (my Motherboard being a Rampage 4 Formula). Check the Mobo Utilities/Drivers for any conflicts.
I have the exact same problem, and I can't seem to find a solution for months now. It's really annoying and depressing

Using the drivers on that page you have advised gives the following.
Device Manager shows a Warning on it in USB controllers as "LGE Mobile USB Composite Device". It automatically "malfunctions" according to Windows 10 and I can't change the connection interface on the phone.
Going into the properties on that device in Device Manager lists the following;
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
A device which does not exist was specified.

Fixed my problem
I've had the same issue with my LG G3 in being unable to connect the device to my laptop. I'm not sure if the cause was a phone software update or the upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Either way, I searched and fixed it tonight by installing updated drivers. Hope this helps others as well.

LG G3 (F400S): No sound, no USB OTG and it is not recognized by my laptop

Hi everyone, I bought an LG G3 Korean version (F400S) unlocked recently. It is a good phone but I am experiencing three annoying issues (out of the box) with the phone and they are:
1. NO sound at all from the back loudspeaker. The volume is set to maximum, there is no sound from music, video, notifications, touch sound effects, or even ringtone! Surprisingly, when I connect my earphones, there is sound in my earphone, when I remove the earphone, absolutely NO SOUND from the loudspeaker. The sound from ear speaker (the one used to make call) works. I have tested the ringtone in the Hidden Menu, when the ringtone is being played, there is no sound at all.
2. The LG G3 charges well when connected with the charger and when connected with my laptop as well. However, whenever I connect the LG G3 to my laptop, it only charges, it is NOT RECOGNIZED by my laptop. I have the LG Mobile driver installed (downloaded from the LG website (Korea website)), the LG PC Suite installed, the LG Mobile Phone Support Tool installed. Whatever I do, changes the USB cable/ USB port, try in different windows version (Windows 7, 8.1 and 10), USB debugging on and off, reinstall driver, reinstall driver from the option in LG PC Suite, restart the PC several times, NOTHING happens. It is not recognized at all in my laptop. ALSO I cannot see any thing related to LG driver in the Device Manager.
3. USB OTG does not work. I have tried with a working OTG cable to connect a pendrive in my LG G3, it is not recognized, even in the File Explorer of the phone. The cable and pendrive is however detected in my other android device.
The Android version of my LG G3 is Android 4.4.2 (I have received only one update for improving Google experience (about 10 MB).
The Kernel version is 3.4.0
The build number is KVT49L.F400S11a
Software version is F400S11a
Please help me, I have googled for the problems, searched in Youtube as well but no solutions. The phone was bought online, it is original but I have no warranty and even if i need to repair, I will have to send it back to China, which will be money and time consuming. Please help me.

Thanks for the reply, I tried your suggestion, but it did not work. Again, when I tried to connect the LG G3 to the PC so as to flash with the KDZ, it says on the taskbar: 'The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it'. In the Device Manager, I get USB Device Not Recognized (Error Code 43), Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) Error Code 43. I googled this issue as well no success, I reinstalled the LG Drivers, rebooted my PC, again NO LG DRIVERS in the Device Manager, and whenever I connect the LG G3 I get the same message I mentioned above. Hence, I cannot upgrade to the v20F version as I cannot connect the device to my PC.
UPDATE: I cannot put the device in download mode for flashing. I hold the volume up button while connecting the cable to the USB 2.0 port. The LG logo appears on the phone and it just charges. Also, I have tried to remove everything related to the drivers and reinstall, now I do not have the Error Code 43, BUT still the phone is not recognized.

First update your drivers on your computer. If that won't work try different ports. USB 2.0 or 3.0 can make a huge difference. Your speaker is probably dead. And i don't have any experience with USB OTG so I can't help you with that

you can use this command with adb
adb reboot bootloader

Already tried that with the '15-sec ADB' something like that + with Android studio, I have searched on youtube and google how to do it, but nothing happen when I enter the command, it just says that device not found. Whenever I connect a pendrive or my other phones to my PC, I can see in device manager, it refreshes and the driver for that particular device appears. BUT there is NO refresh nor any driver appearing when connecting the LG G3. Today I tried it with my friend's USB cable (he has the LG G3 (D855), it does not detect as well in his PC but his phone is detected in his PC. I really do not know what is the matter :crying:

Thank you for your reply, I have already tried all of these, nothing is working.
Did you figure out how to get your phone recognized by the computer? I am facing the very same issue and I'm feeling hopeless

No, i am still having the same issue. I think with an update it will be okay (but I have not received any update till now! I am stuck with Kitkat 4.4.2). If it is a hardware problem I will have to return it or replace the USB port or motherboard.

LG Bridge "No mobile device connected"

Hello,
I just got myself a brand new LG G4 H815 and it is running Marshmallow. I want to upgrade to Nougat so I installed LG Bridge on my windows 10 PC, connected my phone with original USB cable but I get message "no mobile device connected". PC recognizes my phone and I can transfer files from and to the PC. I have LG universal mobile drivers installed and the phone is in MTP mode. Weirdly, once I switch it into charging mode, LG Bridge recognizes it but won't allow me to upgrade it since it must be in MTP mode. Can someone tell me a solution to this problem or tell me if I can update my phone in some other way? LG PC suite tells me that there's some sort of Verizon app built into my phone which will do it, but I cant find it anywhere.
This is a common problem. It is some sort if glitch with windows 10
In hardware devices window are u sure the driver doesn't appear as question mark after u connect?
Remove to device driver and let windows reinstall it automaticly when you restart windows
Try again

Yes, I've done it, since I had some issues with other device's drivers on win 10. It didn't help. I'll try on Win 7.
