Will changing the DPI on the Tab 3 bring any more clarity? - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It may seem like a newb question. Will changing the DPI on the Tab 3 7.0 increase viewing clarity at all?
Any recommended DPi settings for this tablet?
Oops. How do I mark this as a question? Do I need to repost?

Aokp lcd density

So I've seen the setting: lcd density on both aokp and blackbean3 for the sprint gs3. I just had a few questions about it.
1. What does this actually control?
2. Will tweaking this setting mess up my screen?
3. If I raise the lcd density will it make the screen brighter?
Sorry if these are stupid questions, I just wanted to find out what it does before I started messing around with it

1. The size of everything on your screen. Higher densities make things bigger, lower densities make things smaller.
2. Tweaking will not mess with your screen
3. Density has nothing to do with the brightness

Setting natural DPI Setting

Hello guys,
I bought a new Wileyfox Swift and I'm really curious what dpi setting setting is the natural/standard one for a 5 " Display , especially for the wileyfox swift. It is said that the display has a natural of 296 ppi. which DPI Setting should I use in Cyanogen OS ? The standard of 320 DPI or a value near the natural ppi of the display? 300 DPI or less? I just want a setting the fit's the standard.
Does this value or setting has impact on other things or only the scale of things on screen?
Again, should the cyanogen os standard value of DPI be set near the standard PPI value of the smartphone display`?
thanks in advance for all helpful answers.
That is a neat little option.
Usually it affects the size of items which can be displayed. Depending on the apps you use, you'll find that their appearance and subtle part of functionality on the UX side will change a bit. Some layouts are available only for certain DPI settings. Play around with it and choose your favourite. With lower DPI you can get a bit more screen estate for content- text, icons, etc.
The difference between 300 vs 320 DPI is mostly unnoticeable. As you are looking for the natural look, you can leave it as either of the two. You can try with lower values as well. It is possible to have some problems here and there if you use DPI that is largely different than on the device (something like 240).

Thank you very much I guess I should consider a mental doctor because I'm switching from 300 to 320 and back several times a day lol. Some applications looking better with 300 but 320 looks more clear?!?
Anyway, appreciate you took your time to answer and I guess I'll keep the 300..... Or?.... Wow... Hard decision lol.
Take a look in this thread:

I haven't tried this Xposed module to change the DPI on per-app basis. If you are on CyanogenMod instead of CyanogenOS, it is definitely worth a look.
Best case scenario- you won't change the DPI for the entire system and restart each time

DPI changes

Hi all,
I have read all the threads about DPI-changes but couldn't find a definite answer. Currently i am on firmware 1.95.401.4, build.prop says
Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density=640
(see screenshot) using Dev-Check it says dpi is 571.
I played around with DPI values a little and found that changing to a value lower than 530 the button in the camera will slide to the left, or in the screenshot downwards (see second screenshot, DPI is 471).
There are some other threads about changing DPI values which say the htc lockscreen will 'break', i did not encounter this problem, besides the button in camera i had no problems.
Long story short, my questions,
why is there the difference between those two values, what am i getting wrong?
(build.prop vs Dev-Check)
anyone encounterd other problems beside camera button by changing DPI to a value lower than 530?
if you have changed the DPI, what is your current value?
Dev Check just calculates the correct DPI for your device. But HTC just set another (higher) DPI, because then more icons can be displayed.
Might not be much use but I believe Nougat / Android 7 supports different DPI scaling (much anticipated feature!)
I want to change my DPI to lower then 530, but the camera button problem bugs me, it still appears in the latest HTC camera 8.50.917991.
Is there a workaround or different camera apk for this issue? I am not rooted and on Nougat.
Thanks

the best dpi for tab s 8.4 T705

Hi all,
i am new to this forum. having been using my tab s 8.4 for a few months and i rooted it at last for performance sake.
feeling good~
and at the same time, i found out that font size is really too small for me, not an old man. therefore i use Resolution Charger to change the master dpi. (not going to use Xposed for individual apps... just want to do a simple job)
after changing from default 320dpi to 420dpi, the look is much better and i know that the samsung apps have foreclose problem but i don't mind as i have already deleted most of them~
but moving up from 420dpi (some apps are still have too small fonts) , i can't even go into settings (need to revert to 420dpi or default dpi) which causes some troubles.
do u have any "optimum" large font dpi for T700/705? say something around 500dpi?
thank you!

the only way is using any AOSP/CM base firmware. Which right know the development are still in alpha stage but its working. Its hard to do it on stock samsung since most of the size are hardcode in the system itself. 420 on those aosp/cm rom are big enough when i test and that is before you change the font size.

Font size reduction / Quick settings icons

Hello All,
1) Just as the title reads, is there a way to reduce the font size further than the lowest option from Settings > Display > Font size ? I just want maybe a little bit more. (PS: I'm trying to get the same font size and consistency as my OP7 Pro)
2) Is there a way I can change the quick settings icons's to reflect Google stock icons or Oxygen OS icons ?
I think for 1) above, rooting might be a way as i've done this in the past with my HTC phones. I havent had to root my last few phones but on the Note10+ the font seems to be absurdly large and its bothering me. My OCD is not helping either.
Any suggestions on getting around this will be much appreciated !
I like small fonts, and status bar icons, I set the dpi to 549 in developer option

Amazing, thats all i ever needed ! You saved me from rooting
Yes the only way to reduce fonts is to change dpi... but what dpi number is another problem..!
If you use the samsung keyboard, yes, a problem arises, as the keyboard becomes smaller when you increase dpi, I use AI type keyboard, it is not affected by dpi settings, appart from this I have not found any other problem

I noticed that, but it's much better than dealing with abnormally large text and icons everywhere. I'll probably use swift keyboard or keep tuning the dpi until I find a sweet spot.
