[Q] Stuck trying to restore to stock - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I've been running custom AOKP rom and decided to return back to stock.
I have the rogers version of the M8, and intended to flash a stock TWRP backup of someone's rogers save.
I made the poor decision of relocking and unlocking the bootloader again, leaving me without a functional OS and with only fastboot and TWRP recovery available to me. As a result, I can't get the rogers backup folder onto my phone ( I don't have a miscro SD), and the only other option I see is to manually push each file in the stock TWRP recovery with ADB to my phone, but I'm horrible with anything that involves command lines.
Any suggestions to get me out of this situation would be great. My end goal is to get the stock ROM / kernel running so I can get OTA's.
Edit: Solved by doing an advanced wipe and format in TWRP, and I flashed a stock Rogers nandroid

Just adb push or adb sideload a stock rooted ROM to your phone. Just a single command line.
If you want OTAs, you will also need stock recovery. But my recommendation is that OTAs have no place on a modded device.

I've tried flashing a ROM and unfortunately I get stuck on the boot animation.
Attempting to wipe my phone through TWRP before the zip install yields a failure:
E: Unable to mount '/data'
E: Unable to mount internal storage
Those two lines are repeated a couple times in the error screen.
It looks like I need to flash some form of backup but am not sure which one will hard reset my phone to stock from this scenario.

Which ROM? How did you try to flash it (how did you get it on the phone, did you adb sideload?)/

Select "Mount" in TWRP main screen and make sure data is checked (cache should also e checked by default). If so, and still getting this error, di you by chance try to factory reset in bootloader (not TWRP)?

I flashed dirty unicorns 4.4.4. I had a 2gb SD card which managed to get it to the phone (the 2gb isn't enough to move the system backup).
I can't check Mount in the settings and it remains unchecked, and yes, I did hit the factory reset in the bootloader thinking that it would help me (I assume this was another bad decision).

Yes, that was a bad decision. But probably not one that you could have known about. Doing a factory reset in bootloader on a modded M8 corrupts the internal memory. This is your main problem right there.
If you have a Windows PC, connect the phone, go to Device Manager and find the phone. Then select the option to format the memory.
In the future only do a factory reset within the OS (in Settings) or in recovery, not in bootloader.

If you've gone through this much, I'd highly recommend getting comfy with a few command line commands. These may very well save you some time and additional headache (speaking from experience).
After recently running into issues with my newly purchased Roger's M8, I needed to restore to stock as well. Honestly, I followed these instructions to the T and it got me out scrape-free.
But, note Step #6 may require you to "adb push" your unzipped folder. And that's it.
Once you've ADB'd the massive nandroid backup, you should be out of the woods (in TWRP, Restore, Select the pushed backup file).
Good luck, and as long as you've got recovery/hboot looking back at you, you should be fine.

On Win7, go to Start Menu, use the search function at the bottom that says "Search programs and files" and type "Device Manager".
Or go to Start Menu>Control Panel>Hardware and Sound; and under "Devices and printers" you will see Device Manager.

You aren't going to be able to write to the memory when its still corrupt.

Device manager does not provide a format option. Perhaps you mean disk manager? If I do format it will I have to somehow reinstall the android system?

I've often read it described as Device Manager. Can't personally say from experience as I've never actually had to do it myself, but seen this described on XDA quite a few times. If the option comes up in Disk Management, that should be fine, too.
Formatting internal storage should not affect the Android OS, as its a separate partition (note how Windows is only reading the internal storage as around 25 GB of the total 32 GB). But you have to re-install a ROM anyway, as you presently do not have one installed.

Also stuck at kindleFire screen.

I really, REALLY have tried going through the threads and tried to figure this out on my own but I'm just stuck. A while back I got stuck in the boot loop (I guess). It was after a few factory resets. It had been rooted. Now, I can get into twrp but once there I can't seem to find any of the files that I need to flash to get it going again. When I launch the KFU it says the device is "online" and device manager reads "Android Composite ADB Interface". I'm sorry if this isn't enough info but can someone give me a push in the right direction? :silly:
Still vague bro but hey you have twrp do you have fff? If you have those things select mount in twrp transfer ROM zip and a gapps zip to your sdcard but don't place them inside a folder... leave them in the open this is considered the root of your sdcard then select unmount go to install see if you can navigate to the files you put on the kindle if so select wipe, wipe factory reset, wipe cache wipe dalvik, wipe system, select install tap on the ROM zip flash it when done use the back button upper right... flash gapps then select reboot and system if prompted let it boot.. I suggest this ROM or a cm7 flavored variety.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778010
fff is the kindle logo with the blue (fire) lettering, right? v1.4a in the upper right corner. Let's me go into normal, recovery and reset boot mode? The only option that let's me make any progress is the recovery option and that loads me into twrp. The "mount" option in twrp gives me 4 choices, mount system, mount data, unmount cache, and unmount sdCard. Mount system and mount data are unchecked. And if I click the "mount usb storage" button it takes me to a screen that says "USB Storage Mounted -- Be sure to safely remove your device from your computer before unmounting!" and there's an "unmount" button underneath. That's all I'm seeing. I'm not trying to be vague. I just don't know what specifically is the relevant info to give. But thanks for helping out those who can't help themselves
Ok plug to your computer select mount make sure there are no checks in the boxes of data and system then hit the big button this will mount your sdcard transfer zips select unmount follow my instructions above...
hey man, it worked!:victory: But I'm sure you knew it would. So, is it a bad idea or is it even possible at this point to revert to the factory reset? You know, have it be totally stock? And is it just tricky or dangerous to do factory resets a few times? I like using just the stock kindle version. The kindle app is just a little funky. Or it was the last time I used it. But obviously I love the google suite. I hadn't made a back-up the last time because it was just as easy to download a few of the things at a time from the cloud. So, making a back up would be a good habit and help in a situation like this? Do you know of any good threads re: backups? And superuser is something I don't know anything about but how does it work and where should I learn more about that? Mega MEGA thanks again dude! :highfive:
Yeah if you want the best of both worlds go with rooted stock all the wipes I suggested after backing up first then flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439916 the standard version not the altrom thats for dualboot your miles from that

its nothing but rooted stock with playstore and it wont wipe out your recovery and fff in the process
when installing the modaco custom rom, what boxes do I want to have checked? Zip file sig is checked by default and Force MD5 check on all zips is unchecked. Good?

do I need to just stay with the cm10 rom at this point? what other kind of fun stuff can I do to get this working:fingers-crossed:
I believe Thepooch told you earlier NOT to download the altrom. Check your download and try again.

[SOLVED] Error Mounting /sdcard/.android_Secure!

People,
I got to install the Cyanogen Firmware on my Xperia ZL (6503) and i'm give a problem.
I follow the instructions on the http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_odin
and download the file cm-10.1.2-odin.zip in this page:
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=stable&device=odin
When I select the option Factory Default, the CWM show the message: Error Mounting /sdcard/.android_Secure! and no mount the internal sdcard. I'm install the .zip file from the external sdcard, and stuck on logo of Cyanogen.
Any fix for this error?
Do you mean you are unable to perform a factory reset? You can do this without using CWM. Inside of the phone settings, backup & restore, there is an option to reset to factory.
If you mean you are unable to install the zip, then maybe you need to install a different version of recovery.

Ah you're attempting to flash the boot.img file? You have to use fastboot I believe in order to flash it.
1. You must have unlocked bootloader of your device. You can do so from here.
2. Download Fastboot here.
3. Place Fastboot.zip and the boot.img files onto your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the Fastboot archive to your Desktop. Move the boot.img file into the Fastboot folder.
3. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by going to Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>USB debugging.
4. Once enabled, connect your device to your PC via USB cable.
5. Launch a Command Prompt Window on the Desktop of your PC. To do so, press and hold the Shift button on your keyboard and right-click on any blank area on the screen, then choose Open command window here.
6. Type in following command into the Command Prompt Window:
adb reboot bootloader
7. Your device will reboot into the bootloader mode.
8. Once inside bootloader mode, enter the following command into Command Prompt.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
9. Once the file’s flashed, reboot your device.
10. And you’re all set! You now have CWM recovery!

After hours of research, I resolved the problem. I`m followed the steps described on cyanogen wiki, adding the first step Factory Restore on original sony firmware and the problem persists. After launched the CWM, I select the option "Format /data" and after "Format /sdcard". After selected this options, the error message not appears again and the Cyanogen firmware install and launch successful! Probably with format, deleted some key or protection in internal sdcard. Thanks for the help!

I have the same problem in my Razr 925. I installed with CWM 6.0.3.6-10.2 cm from the external SD.
1) First I tried from the inside SD, I never realized that appeared "Warning: No file_contexts", and install the zip of cm-10.2, the result was "Error mounting / data" "Error mounting / sdcard /. Android_secure".
2) From the external memory I managed to do it, but the logo remains Cyanogen cycling.
3) I tried to restore the backup, but "Can not mount / sdcard".
Now I don't know what to do, I researched and solution is always restart from the official android, in my case I can not start the official android. I need help please !:crying:

If you aren't able to (as in your case) or simply don't want to (as in mine, where I didn't have an external SD card handy); you can simply upgrade your recovery software.
In my case, Carbon ROM JB for the GT-N7000 came with CWM 6.0.3.5 which couldn't flash newer ROMs (like Carbon KitKat), and had issues with the internal SD card including the one in the topic of this post. Since I had just wiped my current ROM and didn't want to start up an ADB sideload session, I simply flashed PA (which came with CWM 6.0.3.7, a minor version bump but a huge difference here) and after rebooting to recovery again (I didn't even have to boot to PA), everything worked again.
(My first post that could be even considered remotely useful on XDA, so please tell me if it helped you!)
Thanks!

Koop's One-Hour Guide To Update Your Phone

I wanted to update my phone from Software version/Baseband version PF4 to the latest Software and Baseband version PG1, but I wanted to KEEP EVERYTHING ELSE. All my apps, my ROM and my Kernel. I was able to do this in less than one hour by following these steps.
Necessary files first:
1) ODIN file. You want to have a folder with the Odin .exe and other files somewhere convenient, your desktop is fine.
2) Latest TAR file available. Currently, that is PF4. The file should end in .md5.
3) Latest CF-Auto-Root. The file should end in .md5.
4) Latest Recovery (TWRP) TAR file. The file should end in .tar.
All of these are available from thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862
All Put the PF4, the CF-Auto-Root and the TWRP file in the folder where Odin is.
For convenience, I also recommend installing Minimal ADB. Grab that here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
Install the Minimal ADB. Run that and make sure that it sees your phone. Plug your phone in and type "ADB devices." Look at your phone and accept the security prompt if that comes up.
Once you have Minimal ADB installed the commands that you will use are "ADB Reboot Download" and "ADB Reboot Recovery." These just simplify things.
Is your phone Rooted with TWRP Recovery? Great, we can get started! If not, open ODIN. Flash CF-Auto-Root to get your phone rooted. Then flash the TWRP TAR file. And then you are ready to begin.
Make sure that you have Developer options selected and OEM unlock selected. Really. Make sure. Otherwise you will get the FRP lock.
1) From ADB, type "ADB Reboot Recovery." This should take you to TWRP. If it doesn't read up ^^^^ because you missed a step.
2) In TWRP, go to Backup. This should be the default but if not select Boot, System and Data. Make that backup, which will get stored in TWRP/Backups on your phone. Within that folder, you will see a folder with a long name with lots of numbers and letters that identifies that this backup is for your phone. I generally copy the whole Backup folder to my PC, just in case my phone gets totally wiped I can still restore it. It takes a few minutes and better safe than sorry. Backup done, you can go to the next step.
3) In ADB, type the command to put your file into Download mode. ("ADB reboot download.") Start ODIN. Click on the AP button and select the PF4 file. Let it load, it takes a while. Then click start. This will take few minutes, maybe 10, then your phone will restart back to stock. Again you are going to have to wait for a bit.
4) Let your phone finish rebooting. Once done, you can go to Settings -> System Update -> Download updates manually. You should have an update to PG1 available. Install that and again, your phone will reboot. Once that is done, check your Software version/Baseband version and they should both say PG1.
5) Again, use ADB to send your phone back to download mode and back to Odin. Select the CF-Auto-Root and Start. This should go much faster.
6) Back to Download mode and Odin one last time. Select the TWRP file and start.
7) In ADB, type "ADB reboot recovery".If you have done everything right, you should now be in TWRP.
8) I like to get rid of any bloat that may have been installed with the Stock. I go into Wipe and do both a Factory reset and then in Advanced wipe Caches, System and Data. Then go back to the TWRP main screen WITHOUT REBOOTING.
9) Click Restore and restore the backup that you did at the beginning.
Your phone is now updated to the latest Software and Baseband versions but with all your apps and data as it was before you started.
This literally took me 45 minutes today and that only because of the long rebooting times.
Have fun!
So I always have a space issue with this. I don't have enough free space on my device to hold a backup.
Do you know if there's any way to backup to an external/usb device. I have one of the micro USB to female USB adapters...and I can see the USB drive connected while in the phone, but I don't see an option to use that as a backup destination from TWRP.
Is there a way to backup off the device?

Going off the top of my head, if I remember right, it said that the external drive was non-writable.
Is there a specific partition type the USB drive had to be (fat32, ext4, etc) or is there a specific process that I need to follow to mount the drive in TWRP?

Alright. I tried again this morning. The problem is, when I go into mount the USB in TWRP, it does nothing. I can't check it off. I've tried with 2 different USB sticks and I cant get it to work. When the phone is booted to system, I can see the USB, read/write without any problems.

I have the right version of TWRP. It might be my otg cable. It's one of the cheap ones. I think I got a 3 pack for something like $0.99.
I was able to use the cable from within the phone and do a full Titanium backup. It's not going to be 100% like your method, but at least my apps and data will be preserved (for the most part). I probably have enough space to do the backup of system and boot, then just restore the apps with data.
Thanks for your help!

Nexus stuck in boot loop - unrooted - Backing up photos from bootloader or recovery

Hi.
Apologies if this is a very naive question, I am not particularly familiar with mods, roms and so forth.
I have rooted another phone in the past, but that is all.
The situation:
- Samsung Galaxy Nexus
- Not rooted/unlocked. Stock android automatically updated to the latest Android version supported
- Android developer option NOT set in settings
- Stuck in a boot loop: boots to android and then after a few seconds reboots, so no time to do anything
- Not sure how it happened, I had it for years, it was in my pocket and suddenly started doing that.
- Android fastboot and recovery loads up no problem
- I have tried anything I could find online to fix it: deleted cache, rebooted in safe mode, removed battery for 10 hours
- Nothing seems to fix it, it keeps rebooting
- I want to try a factory reset, but my family photos are in the phone
- Google synch seems to have stopped functioning for this device a year ago, all my 2016-17 photos and videos are locked in the phone.
Admitting there is nothing to do about the loop problem:
Is there any way I can copy photos and videos via usb while in recovery mode?
After I will reset the phone via recovery menu, hoping it will fix it. IF that does not fix it, I will flash another rom in. But I really do not want to wipe my data before backing them up.
I am assuming the answer is no, you cannot access the internal memory in fastboot/recovery unless your phone is rooted.
But I would like an expert opinion before I resolve to wipe one year of photos and videos which I will regret losing.
@mcaldo DON'T DO FACTORY RESET, EVERYTHING WILL BE LOST
which recovery are you using..?
if it's TWRP, then it's easy..
- boot into TWRP recovery
- go to "Mount" tab
- find "enable/disable MTP" button at lower options.. (enable it )
then connect your phone to that PC, where you always connected in past, ( to eliminate driver installation stage, all drivers will be preinstalled )
Regards

if it's TWRP, then it's easy..
- boot into TWRP recovery
- go to "Mount" tab
- find "enable/disable MTP" button at lower options.. (enable it )
then connect your phone to that PC, where you always connected in past, ( to eliminate driver installation stage, all drivers will be preinstalled )

Thanks for your reply!
By recovery, I meant 'android system recovery'
It gives me the following options:
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from USB drive
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
Is any of the above useful?
Unfortunately, I do not have any alternative recovery software available
Edit: Googling I found this: "Apply update from ADB: The Android Debug Bridge allows you to plug your device into your PC and issue commands from there. "
If I can issue commands through ADB, perhaps there is a command to copy data from my phone to my computer?

Yes, you can copy through adb commands..
Get and extract Minimal ADB and Fastboot from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
From PC, run CMD to extracted folder directory.
Connect phone to PC, go to update from ADB(in recovery),
Type "adb device" , it will show serial number and connected..
Then "adb pull /sdcard " (if you know particular directory of data then write it like /sdcard/photos,, otherwise writing /sdcard will copy all folders from your phone. )
it will start copying to same adb folder ..

Thanks for the advice.
I followed the instructions closely, and nearly got there.
adb devices returns
#serialnumber sideload
so all good
but adb pull /sdcard returns
adb: error connect failed: closed
I tried several other commands with no success
kill-server and start-server work fine but do not solve the problem
adb usb returns
error closed
So, I am starting thinking that the problem is in the bootloader being locked.
However, if I unlock it, it will be wipe all my data, I understand?
Googling about it, I found this:
The behavior is status-by-design. Your stock recovery is not designed to grant shell access. Your only choice here is to somehow manage to flash a custom recovery. – Firelord Dec 30 '15 at 14:19

To achieve something similar to what @FireLord suggested: TWRP can be booted on many devices without being installed. For that, find a matching image, then boot to the bootloader and run fastboot boot twrp.img. Btw: you can check with fastboot devices resp. adb devices whether a device is visible to the corresponding tool. – Izzy♦ Jul 8 '16 at 19:40
So I understand one could boot TWRP without installing it, but I am not sure if that means I could do that with the bootloader locked?
I found WugFresh nexus root toolkit which seems to do that, among many other things, but again it warns that the phone must be unlocked (using the android build "Android *.* Any", I did not know what else to choose, not sure if that makes any difference as for locked/unlocked requirements)
EDIT: my fastboot screen reads "FASTBOOT STATUS - Failbootloader locked" as the last line, when trying to run TWRP without installing.
Yes, unlocking bootloader will wipe everything..
What actually you did ? Why it went into bootloop ???
I have also read that about boot into TWRP without installing.. and it worked for many one without unlocking bootloader... Don't know why not on GNex.

A very good question, to which I have no answer, unfortunately.
The phone was used by my wife for 2 years and then by me for other 2. I recently changed the battery.
Never rooted or unlocked. No unusual apps installed. I am a very basic user, as you might have guessed, and being my only phone at the moment, I really would not risk experimenting with it.
It went very slow over the last 4 months, so I was planning to reset it.
I put in my coat pocket for a few hours, when I took it out it had a train ticked stuck to the screen and was quite warm and on the lock screen. It froze, so I took the battery out and restarted it. From then on it is stuck in a loop, not sure why really.

That's good to know. I'll research more than.
It seems there might be a problem with the fastboot drivers on my computer, even selecting them from device manager did not work. Win7 refuses to install. The ADB drivers in theory work fine though.
If you have done nothing modification to system, then wiping data should work, but i have doubt if it also wipes personal data too, on TWRP it wipes data excepting /data/media/ which contains all personal data.. but don't know about wiping on stock recovery...
I hope you will find solution as soon as possible..
Regards.
PS. I can install stock recovery and try wiping /data.. and check what things get wiped.. but i need little time for that experiment...

Thanks so much.
Looking at google's documentation on the nexus:
You can remove data from your Pixel phone or Nexus device by resetting it to factory settings. Resetting to factory settings is also known as formatting the device or doing a "hard reset".
If you're factory resetting your device to fix an issue, make sure that you've tried all other troubleshooting options first. Find out how to troubleshoot your issue.
Important: Performing a factory reset will erase all data from the device.

It would seem that indeed all data will be removed.
This point, I will research a bit more into drivers, in case that is what it's preventing adb pull from working.
I really need a working phone, so if that fails I will hard reset, then unlock, root, flash in an alternative bootloader and perhaps a rom, and put ubuntu touch in dual boot. That will hopefully prevent me from loosing data in the future.
Sorry, this is out of topic to my question, but, , could you suggest any stable, solid rom for the nexus?
I read good things of CM12, and I ran into one which seemed to do to quite well with split windows, but I do not remember the name right now.
EDIT: I remember the name of the rom now, it's https://omnirom.org/about/
A last question if you can..
I tried to solve my boot loop problem by sideloading an update from google (maguro yakju yakju-jwr66y-factory-4cadea65.zip)
It loaded it fine but then failed because the installation it says it is not signed.
Basically, being a stock bootloader recovery from Samsung, it will only sideload OTAs from samsung, not the stock ones from google..
I cannot find the samsung ones anywhere, not for the nexus anyway, just the newer devices..
By any chance do you know where I could download proper Samsung OTA zip updates for the nexus?
Well, I talked with an android developer who confirmed that, unless you have a friend working in criminal forensic technology or similar, there is no way to get around a lock on this phone to pull data out.
So, sadly, I have wiped my phone by unlocking it, flashed TWRP and then omnirom with gapps.
My photos are gone, including a bunch of stuff my kid had made and asked me to photograph for safeeping. Very safe indeed
He kept asking me why they make the lock like that, instead of allowing some kind of password, perhaps he has a point.
So, it is quite unlikely that somebody who knows as little as I did will ever read this *before* finding themselves in the same situation.
But if you do, back up your data, unlock and flash TWRP, clockworks or some alternative, and thank yourself if and when disaster strikes..
@mcaldo wiping data/factory reset in STOCK RECOvERY will wipe everything... There is very few chances to get backup...
And yeah i found something interesting..
You can flash system.img.. only system files will be corrected not anything else..
Get appropriate zip from here : https://developers.google.com/android/images
Now take system.img to ADB/Fastboot folder ( i assume you know how it works )
Just go "Fastboot flash system system.img"
It will rewrite system partition..
Another one:
See downloads on this thread..
One says NON-WIPE, if you want me to try that zip, i will again require time for that. See here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/general/guide-restore-to-stock-unbrick-galaxy-t2065470

LineageOS - "Soft brick" - no files

Hello,
I'm a bit lost, here is my problem:
I have an international LG G3, I switched to LineageOS from official ROM 10 days ago. Everything was working fine, until yesterday when at some point, whithout doing anything special, my phone froze as I hit the Home button.
It froze for quite some time, so I removed the battery and now I have the pleasure, each time that I start the phone to see the great LG logo that doesn't move...
My phone isn't root (didn't install the su addon) and though I can boot in TWRP recovery mode, I don't see any file and all my reboot options mention "No OS".
I tried to sideload lineage to flash the new version but it doesn't work, push neither (and I have no SD - it kept unmounting itself).
I tried to connect with LGUP to go stock, but I guess since it's not root, it isn't recognized, and I don't know how to root it as I can't access it.
So here I am, stuck, without much idea of what to do next, I would be thankful if someone knew how to fix this issue one way or the other!
EDIT: Any try to solve the issue failed as I get the same prompt : Failed to mount /xxxx, or : Unable to mount storage.
Thanks in advance!
I had the same situation like you. Your data got corrupted. There's no way to actually restore your files, at least I couldn't do that with help of my mates. All you need to do is eject your SDCard, wipe every partition and:
repeat all steps for /system, /data and /cache - select only one partition, click on Repair or Change File System and these click on Repair File System then Change File System to F2FS and immediately change it back to ext4 and Repair File System once again.
And then wipe every partition once again.
If you need more help, message me on telegram.

Hello and thanks for your message,
I tried your procedure but for each partition, I get a bunch of "Failed to mount", "Unable to wipe", "Unable to repair".
I don't care about the data, all I want is to have my phone running, I tried to "Format Data" within TWRP, doesn't work either.

have you tried restoring to Stock ROM using LG Flash Tool? as far as I know it resets all partitions so that might be the fix for you
please try once again with this TWRP: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/recovery-twrp-3-0-0-0-t3309475
maybe just try [Change File System] to ext4 again? It helped me with my data corruption

Yes, I tried with LG Flash Tool, it's the same as LGUP, in both case my phone isn't recognized (I can see my phone on my computer but it contains nothing).
I can't install this TWRP, first technique I can't find the file in my folders (though I could push it with adb), second i can't do "su".
(with the current TWRP - 3.1.1.1 - I can't change the file system)
if you have sdcard, you can put the file here and then flash recovery.img via recovery

I could now get adb to push the img on data and sdcard, but when I try to install I can't find any partition and the process fail as no partition is specified.
I did the push in recovery mode and could find the files, but when I reboot in recovery mode again, I can't find them anymore.

I tried again to FLash it with the tool, no success.
In device manager I don't see the phone, all I see on the port COM is : Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3), so I guess that's why it never find the phone, anything I can do ?

Thanks for your help,
I tried the 9008 method but it didn't work, I have now som "Kernel crash" error that I don't know how to fix and the the only thing I can do is to access some sort of Download mode (where my screen is black, not with "Firmware Update" written, so the LG Flash Tool doesn't recognize it to flash a rom).

Now I managed to flash something with this qualcomm utility (firmware files extracted from 30B KDZ, all other from 10 version were not responding) and I can have access to either:
- "Firmware Update" screen in DL mode, though I can't flash any stock ROM I found (I tried several DLL and TOT, I get "Model check fail" or some issue with the LAF: my guess is that it may be due to the fact that the recovery I managed to put is 30B and the the TOT I have is 10B so something doesn't work?);
- and on recovery mode I can access to Fastboot mode, but a not very efficient one as for some reason whenever I give a fastboot command it do much, the command run on the computer, then I get the output ". . ." in the command line, and the terminal stay in this state doing nothing...

You probably missed some steps, with flashing all the partitions, you must flash them in given order, and you must use the same kdz, 10e...try it again from scratch.
Mine g3 is still fully functional, so it's worth a try.

Yes I followed the order, and finished with sbl1,
Now I can't do it again, I can't connect with the software as my phone is no longer 9008, so I have no idea what to do
