My gf got her z1c few months back and hasnt changed any themes untill now. She has been wondering about the stock theme engine having this 'theme elements' section where you supposedly change icons and soft keys etc. But in every theme she buys or downloads these options are greyed out. Even if the theme description in Play Store says that there are changeable elements in theme.
Is this a root only feature or what? Seems odd if so, cuz the options are visible in stock ROM, but not usable.

When you download theme supports theme engine it change your bar with softkeys etc but you can change it manually because there is no more option only 1 option for every element so no Choice

I am not sure if this is in the right spot but it said Q&A so thinking its a good place to start. I am looking to find out if I can change the status bar icons to be colors. I amd running [JB:CM10:HYBRID][OFFICIAL]ParanoidAndroid 2.55 for T989[18 Nov 2012] (Love it btw) so I guess the best way to word this is I use go sms pro for txting and the icon that comes up when I get a txt is a very nice noticable green color and I know I have a txt in a quick glance, I also have the facebook app and when I get a notice from facebook its a white and so are my mail and all the other icons so it is hard tell the diffrents between them. so I was wonding if there was a way to change this or if there is a mod for it. if anyone needs more info I am happy to post it. Thank you
If you would like to modify some of the notification bar icons you would have to modify some images in the system framework of your phone which would be difficult if it's your first time.
The easier way to change them, is that since you're using a CM10 ROM you can try out some CM10 Themes from the Play Store. Click here to view all of the available themes.
All the themes will help you change the overall look of your phone, that includes the notification icons. You will just need to apply the themes with the Theme Chooser application. Cheers!
Using the theme engine within Settings, is it okay to use parts of a theme from different themes together? Like can I use wallpapers from one theme and use the style and status bar from another and also use the font of a different theme? Will that work?
Also how do I change the lockscreen wallpaper?
(I am using Bliss Rom 6.1 if that helps)

Samsung theme added a new option in nougat for note 5 and other devices to change only icons. The problem is that icon library is quite limited. Although some themes have great icons but do let you apply icons alone (not so thoughtful of Samsung).

Oreo style icons (with shadow)
Clean user interface with white system apps
Clean new navigation buttons made from scratch
Rectangle notifications
Changed colors for quick settings (More modern look)
Reduced gap next to signal icon
Some HTC style elements here and there

How to install :
1. Copy .hwt file into one of the following folders in your internal memory :
/HWthemes or /Themes or /Huawei/Themes
2. Close the themes app and reopen it to refresh

Downloading now, the theme looks nice from the pics. I prefer simplistic themes myself.
Worked on my Honor 8 Lite(PRA-LX1), then some meaningless google security update came out and now the theme is enabled but everything except the gray-ish status bar color is not working shame i really liked the nav bar and the lock screen thou

Hi all. Lately I got some old M9 phone and found out that HTC theme service has defuncted, but it seem still works in my phone, I mean I still can change some colors and wallpapers. So yesterday I have been searching info about how all this stuff works and found storage location of the themes on my phone. It is something like android/data/com.htc.launcher/files/CustomTheme/com.htc.theme.custom.11468136-de37-4c97-9dc9-8e9fb19c94e1
So now I'm trying to find the way how to edit this files and add my own font into it also add icons pack and apply it manually. So need some help with it. Maybe here is some info how to make full theme with fonts and custom colors by editing files in storage.
Also Looking one dark theme from HTC Sense Home app that calls "Tilt Theme", maybe some one has it downloaded and can share with me would be nice cuz this theme has a good clock font that I want to have to myself
