Porting Move to SD - Sony Xperia T2 Ultra

As you may know T2 Ultra and Ultra Dual has a new FW where it features a Move to SD natively. Is they anyway, any dev, or can someone point me to the right apks or system files, so I can port it to other Xperia's running KK?

This will be a life saver for the 16GB internal memory problems and can't wait for this to roll out to the other Xperia series devices. Porting would be great if possible.

Move to SD feature by Sony is just a gimmick, it doesnt actually move the app to External SD. Only a small portion of the 'app' is moved and not the data.

I doubt that. Internal storage is not like cpu freq, where you can increase it and see whether it is safe or not. This is like " I want to increase my pendrive storage from 1Gb to 2Gb without purchasing new pendrive."
Can it be done? By "hardware hacking" point of view, it is possible.
Should you do it? I guess not.

Storing Apps on SD Card

I'm running LiquidSmooth Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and was wondering how I can store Apps (large games like Gameloft, mainly) in my SD Card. Apparently, the ability to move Apps to SD Card was removed in Ice Cream Sandwich.
Any reasonable solutions? I bought a 32GB SD card and just realized this. I have bought about 15GB of games.
EDIT: Is it possible to (easily) replace the internal SD card with the external SD card? Like make the phone think they're switched? The only downfalls I see to this is that the external is slower, and that moving everything over may prove to be a pain in the A$$.
Thanks

I do not believe this is possible.
For Gameloft you can TRY this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...m_medium=organic&utm_term=gameloft+data+to+sd
There's no guarantee though that it will be compatible. Its for GameLoft Games only.
You can mod the phone like you described. However, you have to be on a Touchwiz ROM with init.d support. Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849844
It states that it has been untested in AOSP ROMs, so if you try, do it at your own risk. Also, most people are stating they cannot get it to work with AOSP.
Good luck to you!
P.S. This will sacrifice performance as you are absolutely correct, external memory is a lot slower. Make sure you get an SD card with high RW time to try to offset it a bit.

I've been using this Mod for a while and it does work on aokp aosp cm and even without init.d support with smanager However although it switches your sd and ex sd the apps still get installed to the sd card but when you download stuff ie music movies etc... they go to the exsd instead which is still fine by me.

The mod specifically says you need init.d.... idk why they would put that if it wasn't a necessity. As far as it is working on aokp and such for you... The mod is supposed to move everything including apps to the external SD. You stated this did not work correctly for you. It is very possible that as you are not on an official build your not reaping the full benefits of the script.

Yeah maybe...
Here's a quote by the way
"If you do not have init.d support, you can also enable on any rooted phone by using Script Manager, here's a quick tutorial:"
Please before replying have the common sense of verifying what I say. I don't appreciate being called a liar now read the thread please. It's 5, 6 pages at best.

Dude, not calling you a liar lol, just pointing out what the thread states. Chill out. The thread says you need init.d support. It gives you a tutorial how to enable it on a rooted phone.
You just linked to that tutorial to enable said support. Therefore, you must need it. Your original post said you did not. True, it mentioned SManager, however the way your post read it seemed like you didn't need init.d at all one needed to do is just get SManager. We don't know what level the OP is at, they may not know what SManager even is. My post was just reinforcing the mod's OP which reflects init.d is a must.

How to install apps on your SD card?

Hello all,
Since the introduction of 4.1/4.2 on xperia phones it seems impossible to install apps on the SD card, even with root. I mean 16GB is quite the amount but high end games these days are large (some games like beards tale are >3GB). So yes 16GB of storage is easily filled even when you can get all your movies and music/pictures on an external SD card.
I have searched and searched but it seems impossible to install apps on your SD card with Sony phones, did not manage to get it working on my Z1 and seems just as impossible on my Z1C. Any one any ideas on this? This really seems a limitation of Sony phones.
Also see, where they got a 'working' solution which did not work for me:

[Q] Apps jumping out of folders

Hello all
I have a strange problem with my Xperia T2 Ultra dual sim - I'm used to arranging all the apps in folders and categorise them. I have been doing this with all my android phones - Samsung Galaxy S2, then Note 2 but now with my Xperia T2 Ultra all the apps keep jumping out of the folders
It happened once, I moved the apps back into the folders, twice, did it again...but its happening randomly...please help!!:
Does it happen after a restart?

try to move it to internal storage at setting> apps
I always got that problem to after moving apps data to external
even though it's not really an external after 4.4.2 update
seems ridiculous to me.
give it a try and tell me how it works.
there's quite much problem at T2 Ultra and posting at support forum doesn't seem to get replied by the sony moderator

Thanks for the responses. It happens after a restart and sometimes when the android system crashes and I have to force restart.
I cannot move the apps to internal storage as its only 8GB out of which only 4GB is available and my apps are large in number - around 100 plus

Sorry just checked the forum
yeah., I'm not sure to., I got small apps which is fine in the folder just recently downloaded CYTUS and it turns out just like what you said., keep jumping out of folder after restart.
maybe it's OS related., not really sure about it now especially cause the SD detected in apps is still internal not SD Card after Kitkat update.
maybe some others can help explaining this
will try asking this around at SONY forum

[d5322] 19.3.A.0.472 Update

Hey guys,,,
New update available for D5322 with front cam and other fixes..
Updated OTA. It is working well. Nothing major from the first version of lollipop. It is still silky smooth.
One thing I really like is that 3rd party app can access to the SD card directly without rooting. However, they are confined to their own directory in the SD card. I guess it is a way for Google to control how 3rd party apps are using the SD card. But it is definitely a big plus for users.
