Rom 118 Vodafone DE and its Deodex patch - Xperia Z1 Android Development

Hi there, after releasing 118 update for Z1, Z1 users of Vodafone in Germany and Spain could get it, and a German member uploaded his Rom here. So I downloaded it and then made a deodex patch for that. You can download both Rom and patch.
And rooting method is exactly like 108 FW. Recovery also works and its installation way is like his old FW.
Thanks @Henry2o1o for uploading his Rom. And note that as I know, that's just for C6903, and I'm not sure about working it on C6902 or other models.
Rom links:
C6903 14.4.A.0.118 Vodafone DE 1276-7275_R8C (Drive)
C6903 14.4.A.0.118 Vodafone DE 1276-7275_R8C (Direct Drive)
C6903 14.4.A.0.118 Vodafone DE 1276-7275_R8C (Mega)
Size: 1GB
And here is the deodex patch links:
1) I made it, C6903_14.4.A.0.118_deodex (Direct Drive)
2) C6903_14.4.A.0.118_deodex (Mega)
Size: 446.1 MB

Please note that the deodex patches are for a different firmware than the FTF provided. There is a very real chance of bootloops if anyone flashes them on the provided FTF.
Also, the deodex patches for .118 firmwares do result in a bootloop, the deodex tool needs updateing in order to be able to make a deodex patch for .118 FTF that will boot up
Just a warning for users so they know the risks.

I got a bit what you mean, but I don't know what should I tell others.
I just warn users that They would do it by own responsibilities and I would not accept any risks, right?
If no, so please write it down here and I copy that in the first post

Well, there is a couple of issue.
Firstly, FTF's are not development as they are completely stock files. They should be shared in the FTF mega collection thread in the general section.
Secondly, these FTF's have already been shared in that thread, so this is just a duplicate thread that the mods don't allow.
Thirdly, you should be willing to test these things first before sharing. If you had you would have realised that a .108 deodex patch on a .118 FW will result in a bootloop.
I am sure the mods will sort this out soon enough.

Now I got exactly what you said
I myself have C6903, and tested both FTF file and deodex patch on my phone
Both worked with no problem, and also now I'm running on 118 FW with deodex patch 118 FW, recovery menu and rooted phone
My patch and his patch are for 118, not 108
So, if mods will have issue with this thread, I would copy whole to that FTF thread
Thanks

OK, your deodex patch say 108 not 118
http://prntscr.com/45xs9q
Also, what has probably happened if you flash that 108 patch onto a 118 FW it will replace your system apps with ones from 108, so basically you are downgrading back to 108 so it will boot.
If the patches are made from a 118 system partition please can you let me know which tool you used.

First sorry, because I miswrite 108 instead of 118. And if you go to all links, all are 118. Just I had wrong in typing
Second, I used this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51811914
Third, the link you want me to see, is banned in my ISP and I can't got there
Please attach it here

That tool does not work on 118 FW. I have tested it myself and had it confirmed by a user in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/help/root-vodafone-rom-t2826546
Now time to stop spamming the dev forum. the mods will look into it soon enough.

JM9 P1000L version have a protected bootloader.
You can download app and get more informations about bootloaders here.
Some ROMs dont have a dbdata.rfs file.
dbdata.rfs is necessary for flash NEW roms.
dbdata.rfs link for Gingerbread
Before flash, open .tar file (rom) and drag dbdata.rfs into package.
After flash if your 3G dont work, you should install modem of the previous rom.
You can do this replacing modem.bin (JM9) file into .tar package before flash.Recovery - Black ScreenMany P1000L/N users are trying to install the new android version (Gingerbread).
If your device shows a black screen you will need press on power button some time for power off it.
Now, for download mode you will press this buttons: Home + (Vol -) + Power
You can test download mode with Odin. When it shows COM Port (yellow) enabled.
You need learn about Heimdall.
What is Heimdall?
Heimdall is a cross-platform open-source tool suite used to flash firmware (aka ROMs) onto Samsung Galaxy S devices. More information.
Now, you should download P1000L stock ROM (Password is "samfirmware.com"):
P1000L
Uncompress .rar
Uncompress .tar
You will see:
boot.bin
cache.rfs
factoryfs.rfs
gt-p1000_mr.pit
hidden.rfs
modem.bin
param.lfs
Sbl.bin
zImage
Now, using Heimdall command line, you will flash boot files.
Be careful!
Its very IMPORTANT...
Its works ONLY on P1000N or P1000L devices.
Command for recover:
Code:
heimdall flash --primary-boot boot.bin --secondary-boot Sbl.bin
REMEMBER - The boot files is signed.
Read this topic for solve this.

AFAIK, CF-root does have CwM inside already.
This should be ok to use with Overcome too, since Overcome only asks for a GB kernel.
Thanks you very much Humberto, spared me of the work of understanding kernels

Humberto, coule you please make a tar/odin version of the kernel? For some reason my heimdall don't connect to my device, no matter what I do.
I can only get a -12 error (cannot connect)
I have installed the drivers and everything else.

Hi Humberto,
I'm planning to flash Gingerbread using Heimdall.
I have three questions:
1º) I'll decompress the ROM file and substitute dbdata.rfs and modem.bin with the files you said in the other thread and flash everything with Heimdall (repartition enabled). Is it right?
2º) The bootloaders at the Gingerbread P1000N ROM is fully compatible with P1000L device right?
3º) Is it possible to post here the md5sum of each file that I will need to flash using heimdall? I'll be much more calm if I can compare the md5sum of the files you have flashed and we know that work with the ones I'm suppose to flash.
Thanks,
Ronan

I'm sorry, the old kernel tar files I had had a lot os scripts inside too, so I thought this one wouldn't be accepted by Odin, it worked fine and now I have root
Thank you very much.
Our bootloaders are signed and apparently locked with this rom, do you think it is safe to use the apk to unlock them and than use Overcome?

Hello HumberOS
Hi Humberos, I have a galaxy P1000N tab to which you installed your rom and I am as P1000L, then install the Kernel ltn_20110612.tar all very well without complaints with the bootloader unlocked with root enabled ..!

Could you tell me the procedure I followed and the files I need to get this q Gingerbread once flashed with your new kernel ..?

Thanks @RHBH
Installing let's see if the 157 ROM is any better, although it is only two updates from the original 108, and only a few MB of difference, I'm hopping for a better battery life. BTW I got .157 OTA this week and didn't lose root and, xposed is working as it should.

Updated [Stock] [PreRooted] Firmware 14.5.A.0.283 [Lollipop 5.0.2.] Xperia Z1 [C6903]

Greetings guys!
This is another firmware for Xperia Z1 (C6903), and so far is been released in just few countries. I make it pre rooted as by my side once you have a pre rooted firmware you can be able to manage and delete apps what you don`t need to free space in your mobile.
P.S. So far i see same threads but for Z1 Compact and Z Ultra. (if mods believe is not good this thread to exist i don`t mind if it will be deleted)
What do you need:
- Flashable zip
- Mobile phone Xperia Z1 (C6903) - with CWM/TWRP to can flash the zip
- USB Cable (make sure your battery is over 75%)
- Attention and patience
The procedure to flash the zip is the same like in other threads (copy the zip to your external SD Card and from there reboot your phone to CWM/TWRP and select - install zip)
The content of zip is
- firmware C6903_14.5.A.0.238_Greece-Cosmote.ftf (i found with XperiFirm on thread wrote by @IaguCool so of course credits go to him)
- UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46 credits go to @Chainfire
- Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.8.21-RELEASE.flashable credits to @[NUT]
I used PRF Creator to make this zip flashable, credits go to @zxz0O0
The steps i follow to reach a Lollipop 5.0.2 Pre Rooted firmware i found them here http://techbeasts.com/2015/04/14/root-xperia-z1-c6902c6903-14-5-a-0-242-5-0-2-lollipop-with-dual-recovery/
If you have done before flash with dual recovery you may skip the last link, but if it is your first time when you try to do this i highly recommend you to read before each thread including the one on last link.

No need, you could flash right away 368, just make sure you backup your actual ROM and update your dualrecovery
Sent from my C6903 using XDA Free mobile app

[KERNEL REPOSITORY][PIE][DT2W] [G8141:G8142] [Stock Based]

I will be posting my kernel builds here for convenience.
Pre-requisite
Unlocked bootloader with TWRP Recovery installed.
DRM fix must be in place before rebooting to avoid a soft brick.
This DRM patch which was available in sToRm//'s free Xperifix version still works
Features
- Stock based kernel with DT2W enabled.
- Forced encryption disabled.
- Passes Safetynet out of the box.
- Fully working camera (Pie kernel-no DRM fix needed for camera).
- Flashable zip with no need to extract boot.img
- Compatible with any version of Magisk.
Installation
Flash drmpatch.zip then kernel.zip.
You can then flash Magisk if you require it.
Camera doesn't depend on it though.
Flash zip in recovery (don't just extract boot.img as zip has system files to enable DT2W)
Kernel Sources
https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/downloads/open-source-archives
Note. Kernel is compiled as per stock. DT2W is enabled in the DTB, the same parameters as used by the Loire platform.

Flash only system.sin - nothing else. Then boot to recovery and flash drmpatch.zip, kernel.zip and then Magisk if you need it.
Reboot and you are done.

Kernel itself is unmodified, and ramdisk changes don't touch wifi settings at all. Seems to be a hardware or software problem with Sony sd835 as per various complaints here https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-XZ1-Compact/Wifi-connection-problem/td-p/1315030
Adding to the confusion is that the issue is sporadic, intermittent and apparently device specific. Some users suffer badly, whereas others have no problems.
At any rate, there is nothing I can do about it.

For tweaking and double tap to wake - Androplus. For the stability of stock - mine.

Not quite OK. You also need to patch init.environ.rc as per this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74310718&postcount=43
I tried flashing SuperSU 2.79 and 2.82 onto my G8142 which runs oreo but it always results in the phone getting stuck at the Sony logo right after the bootloader unlock warning.
Does the kernel not need to be patched for SU to work?

You could try this one. It is from M-ROM v1.5, a Chinese rom.
I would flash the kernel.zip again, then the SuperSU.zip then the drmpatch.zip and wipe cache and dalvik and see how you go.
