[Q] Help with installation of MIUI on Xperia Ion - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hi guys,i've been using cm based roms and stock based roms for a long time but never gave interest in miui roms but after watching a video of miui v5 on XS..i liked it a lot..so now i'm preparing to install on my xperia ion.But as i'm new to this I'm really confused about the download and installation procedure.
First up, Download: For downloads there are two versions of Xperia Ion Threads in official miui website.
(1) The one made by @kin912 which is updated every week http://en.miui.com/download-106.html and
(2) The one by @ganeshbiyer which is not active right now http://en.miui.com/download-116.html
Now coming to @kin912's thread there are two versions, without swap by @kin912 and with swap by @Bugly Astard! Now the problem is that mine is an LT28H and I don't know about swap and anything about miui, but i already downloaded the latest version[4.7.18] by @kin912 from his thread now my questions are what is Swap? and wether this rom has Google Play Store in it or do i need to manually flash the Gapps and other thing,i've read about the installation procedure but as i am not familiar about different LT28 versions i'm confused! So please anyone give me the installation procedure for miui and please tell me if i downloaded the correct rom @kin912 or i need to download @ganeshbiyer rom for my LT28H!! As told by @kin912 on his thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498755) i've also downloaded his Ghost Kernel For OTA updates!! So please also include the installation of Ghost Kenel!! Thanks in advance!!
Here is what i'm running on,
Model: LT28h
Rom: cm-10-20131224-FXP-aoba
Kernel: FXP kernel
Bootloader: UB
Thanks in advance!!

I hope my reply helps you

Don't try MiUi on Xperia ION.I have tried MiUi and it's performance is very bad I will not recommend you to install this rom. Anyway to install ghost kernal first extract Ghost_Kernel_V3.zip and flash the boot.img file using flashtool in Fastboot Mode or place the Ghost_Kernel_V3.zip file on you storage and install it using TWRP or CWM recovery. Then Install this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498755.I guess this rom has google play stores and apps.

[Q] Wifi don`t start after installing CM9.1 on ARC LT15a

Hi All,
First of all, congratulations for the forum and great project on adroid!!! I'm new on this, and hope learn something here and who knows help in some development.
I will inform a lot of things on this post since i don't know what can be relevant....
I unlocked my phone, and installed ICS Beta from Sony, and used for a while, but, I really want to use CM 9 or 10... so i've downloaded, the stable packages of CM9.1, and CWM5 and installed on the phone as described in many places here and on the CM Wiki, and all functions work ok besides my wifi, it simply doesn't start(Don't star on CM 9 /9.1/ 10)...
Ive also installed baseband mods hoping this can help, but nothing happens....
The same thing happend with ICS Beta From Sony but the Dommlord package to enable WIFI and Bluetooth helped on that version...
So my need is to enable my wifi connection that is dead on the CM 9.1, the phone shows enabling wifi message for a long time and never starts the wifi hardwares... any tips to help me ???
I'm Using a Xperia Arc Lt15a with CMW 5+ and CM 9.1 (FXP139 for now but this happens with any version of CM 9.XXX)...
I Know that SE made diffrent hardwares to some places of the world, so i'm from Brasil, if this helps...
Thanks in advance!!
Leonardo.
No One can help??
Theres a wifi patch addon. Install that. Look at the rom thread
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
Install suitable baseband and libs if available.
Look at the ROM thread for supporting baseband.
Look at the thread for basebands and libs -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688049
Not sure why anyone would choose to flash the Beta at this stage. Flash the latest stock ROM first then CM and report back.
Thanks
Hi, Guys,
Thanks for all replys... i'll try the basebands, but need to read more about it, i don't know wich version is the correct for my device or location, ...
I want to install CM 9 because its faster then the original from Sony, i'm using, the firmware from sony but it's realy slow.. and constantly freezes...
Thanks,
Leo.

[Q] Install Cyanogemod on GT-I8160L

Hello everyone.
I want to install cyanogenmod on my device, I am aware that there is not official rom for my device but there is an unofficial rom.
I did a research on the web and for what I understand there are some problem with my device because it is de latin-american version, I found a method too were I have to copy the "tee" folder from my device before installation and then paste it after the installation(that is supose to solve the 3g signal).
I am a complete begginer in custom roms, I have never installed one in my life. I have a lot of question: I need to have kitkat in my device to install the latest version of cyanogenmod? (my instincts says no but for what I have read I am not so sure) where can I go for a tutorial of installing roms? this rom (cyanogenmod) can work on my device?
The other alternative I have is slim bean, a jelly bean rom based on cyanogenmod(I even have found a tutorial in youtube that explain the installation and seems easy) but the link to download the rom is dead and there is a version specific for the latin american version.
by the way the latin american version is the one with a L at the end(gt-i8160L)
thanks
sorry if my english is bad.

As my device is a I8160, I'll answer the general questions.
The firmware that you need in your device would be a stock Jellybean firmware in order to install CM 10.1, 10.2 or 11 or any KitKat based ROMs.
As for the tutorial for flashing ROMs, this excellent guide by kyrillos13 might be able to help you (although it is meant for I8160..):

Looking for the latest CWM version available for Xperia Mini Pro 10

Hi folks, I would like to install the [KK_4.4.2] PHD rom on a Xperia Mini Pro 10 but I can't seem to find a link to download a compatible version of CWM , my device is on stock 4.0 ICS but it's rooted and I was able to install an older version of CWM on it only which gave me an error (error 7) when I tried to instal KK. I already asked on the ROM thread however the developer did not respond to it yet.
Any help finding the download link and instructions on how to install it is much appreciated.
Thanks!

hey the rom you want to install needs custom kernel. (its inside zip) all custom kernel have recovery INSIDE. so dont worry about CWM, just flash that kernel 1st

Hi buddy, I checked the zip contents and couldn't find "boot.img" inside, wasn't that supposed to be the kernal containing CWM?
Thanks
Stop everything that you are doing.
You are in the wrong forum. Installing this ROM will brick your device for good. This forum has all the stuff for Xperia Arc phone, you don't have it so you shouldn't be here at all.

Use the latest cm11 nightly build. It is the only one that works with dual sim.
Here's the link: https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=nicki&type=nightly
And refer to this thread for questions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2584956

Hi,
I rescently flashed my HTC One x(International) to CM12 using the video on onexroot . com site (XDA wont let me post a ousite link because i'm new -_-)
I had to flash a new recovery with a new layout and then flash the CM12 rom. So i installed the rom and it runs great (minus the known issues). So i was looking around and i saw that there was a newer version of the cm12 rom with bug fixes and what not so i wanted to update it but since i flashed the new recovery and rom i can't flash any CM12 based rom any more, when i try i get the errorERROR EXECUTING UPDATER BINARY IN ZIP i tried many different roms to make sure it wasn't a rom related issue and i used MD5sum checker to make sure the download wan't broken but i keep getting the error. So i'm hoping one of you can help me. (phone info below)

Oh well i think i'm in a bit of a pickle then. I didn't download it from the developer but from the link provided by the video tutorial. I don't know where the maker of the video got it from. Unless there is a global updater i will try to contact the maker of the video for the source. Thanks
