Need Help to install ruu or rom to unlock SIM Sprint htc one M& Kardan - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I bought brand new inactivated sprint htc one m8 harman kardon. I managed to get it bootloader unlocked, S-Off, rooted, and TRWP 2.7.0.2. I'm trying to get the SIM unlocked but I couldn't. I used the following method to unlock the sim but I couldn't pass step 4 as I reach to hit "start" but nothing happens. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2718150&page=5)
I also tried to install roms but when the mobile boot after I get successful installation, it reboots on bootloader screen only.
I appreciate any help.
Thanks.

you do realize that post you linked to right at the top it says 100% works from GSM unlocks. nowhere does it say anything about CDMA phones...? which your sprint model is...
and yes i know what your going to say it has a GSM sim card slot but it doesnt matter.
when people say compatible with GSM models it mostly means international GSM and US(ATT/TMOBILE) phones. CDMA phones are a bit more complicated. cause theres the extra CDMA radio partition.

There are some users who said the managed to get it unlocked. At least, can I install roms for unlocked sims?

you dont need to unlock the SIM in order to use custom roms. all you need is to unlock the bootloader using the HTC unlocker

I did unlock the bootloader in addition to S-Off. However, I'm not able to install any rom. After I try to install the rom (zip file) and I get the message to rebbot after I get successful installation, it boots back to bootloader screen!

rooting/sim unlocking Tmobile G2 Touch

I have recently acquired a T-Mobile branded G2 Touch (also called HTC Hero I believe)....and the only problem is it sim locked to the T-Mobile network.
I have followed this guide to first temporary root, and then permanent root (and sim unlock) the phone....but it doesn't work.
At least I get an error "cannot cycle eMMC" whether I use v0.04 or v0.02 in the guide.
If I follow the guide here, is this more likely to work and would it unlock the sim?
The only other option is to pay T-Mobile £15+ for a Sim Network Unlock code....but I would rather only do that as a last resort....

Sim lock is something completly different then rooting the phone.
If you want a sim unlocked phone you need to so it trough the network unlock or go to some tele shop.
Yup, rooting your phone does not unlock it. You need an unlock code. Google hero unlock or some similar combination and you will find lots of people selling unlock codes for the hero.
Also, it's not called the Hero. It's the HTC Vision.

Seeing as he/she posted in the g2 touch/hero forum, i would assume they know it is a hero. The vision is known as the g2 or desire z.
Just incase you are unsure, the "vision" has a slide out keyboard. If the phone you have has a rather sizeable chin and a trackball, it is a hero.
the phone has a definate chin and trackball.....

Alright, then it's a Hero. Sorry, it's just that you put G2 in the title, which is a different phone.

Only sim unlocked phones can use the sony bootloader unlock service, you will have to pay one of the people here for a remote unlock if you want sim/bootloader unlocked.
Thank you.
Just a nother quick question...
since i have a 4G AT&T xperia play i can acctually unloack the bootloader and by re-flashing the ROM actually preform a SIM unlocking like it discribed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034371
????
will this work on my AT&T 4G device ?

Nope, this link is for sim unlocked phones
I'm gonna use Alejandrissimo in the general forum to unlock my phone tonight...
ok ... so just to make sure i got it right:
1. i need to first unlock my sim
2. i will be able than to unlock the bootloader
?
did i got it right ? since this is actually collides with what i'm reading here:

[astralmaze05]: ok i understand, if i sim unlock it using the online unlocking services will it also unlock my bootloader automatically?
[Logseman]: No. However, the contrary is true: if you pay to unlock your bootloader your Sim lock will vanish as well.

Here you see that it was said that unlocking the SIM doesn't mean that you can unlock the bootload...
any response ?
I insist: unlocking your sim won't unlock your bootloader, you will have to unlock it separately.
However, unlocking the bootloader automatically sim-unlocks the phone.
Thus, save yourself the grief, contact any of the unlockers mentioned in the thread of my signature, and just unlock the bootloader.
I will since i'm seeing it getting more complex then i wanted.
but still i want just to understand if unlocking your sim won't unlock the bootloader but, after the sim is unloacked then i could use the bootload unloacker online from sony, no?
No, you can't. The official Sony bootloader unlocking method is only valid for phones which were sold originally Sim-unlocked. Sim-unlocking an originally Sim locked phone will not make you eligible for the Sony bootloader unlocking method, so you would have to use Alejandrissimo's bootloader unlock method anyway.
Thank you ! now i got it!
i hope this thread will be a good use for others as well.

Make sure you have another SIM Card that is different from your service provider. Only $7.99, thought it was a good deal.

I'll pay off for my A5_UL
and update by then
Thank a lot
Finally Ive made it on my 816 Single SIM
it worked great 100 %
Super cool
Will S-Off and the MSL unlock code allow the phone to be used on another carrier? I'm curious if the sim card, which is now only for lte with the cdma, can be replaced with a sim from a gsm carrier.
This is probably a really dumb question, but does S-off get turned on again when you flash a RUU? Also if you decide to lock it up again, like to get it fixed, would you have to pay for this again? Thanks!
How , Get connect to other Gsm carrier after S-off, On virgin Mobile?
I have the msl unlock code for my phone. So, if I have s-off will it help me use my phone on another carrier. That is can I take my other carrier's sim and put it in the vm lte sim slot and with my unlock code use the phone on the other carrier. I'm trying to figure out if there is any way to do this and does having s-off possibly help this process.

Flashing a RUU will not make you S-ON again. Nothing will, unless you decide to do it yourself, but even then, you can S-OFF again easily, without paying again.
As far as getting a new device, you can probably email the Sunshine lead dev, Justin, and tell him what's going on. He'll probably help you out.

Okay thanks for the info! I probably will s-off in the future for carrier unlocking purposes once a method has been developed for a5_chl.

Can't unlock bootloader (Android 6.0, Software Version: 3.37.605.7)

First of all, sorry for my bad english, it is not my native language.
I bought an HTC One M9 from Hong Kong through eBay It comes with Marshmallow stock I guess, it doesnt have any carrier trash app (nor even the radio app). It works well and everything but the problem is that I can't update the phone. It says only CDMA can update. It has S-OFF and the bootloader is locked:

I tried to unlock the bootloader with the HTC Developers website method, but my phone doesn't shows the OEM Activate option in the Developers Menu. I tried to update my phone through some RUU's for Unlocked devices and they fail (you need the correct RUU message).
My CID is 11111111
My MID is 0PJA30000
I hope you can help me with this.
Also, is this normal?

You have a Verizon HTC One m9.
You will need to use RUUs specifically made for the Verizon Model, not Unlocked versions.
In order to Unlock the bootloader(not sure you really need to), you will probably have to use Sunshine, which is likely how the device became s-off to begin with. (not sure why the previous owner relocked it, but kept s-off)
As you cannot Unlock a Verizon branded HTC device using HTCdev option. Verizon makes them block it for their variants.
You'll also find more information and files relative to your device in the Verizon M9 forum, rather then here in the Gsm section.

Too late I guess, I change the correct MID and CID and update it through the Unlocked RUU from the HTC website. Now I dont have IMEI or Baseband number and there's no way it detects any SIM Card, is there a fix for this?

Not luck. I changed the CID and MID to the original Verizon and flash the full Verizon Nougat RUU and the same, no Baseband, no IMEI.

New Pixel XL owner, root help.

Have a decent understanding of how to unlock/root/xda, just want to make sure, so any help would be appreciated.
Still on 7.1.1, (Google edition? Bought on eBay and not really sure because oem unlock is greyed out, no Verizon apps though) wondering best way to get to android O/P with the bootloader unlocked. Should I OTA then try the Verizon unlock method? Or try the unlock method on 7.1.1 then flash a android O/P rom/modem/baseband etc? Got some reading to do....
Any other tips would be appreciated as well, thanks for your time.

So if your Button is greyed out... It's a Verizon variant.
https://www.facebook.com/IsMail.AmZdak reach out to that guy and donate what ever you can and ask if he can bootloader unlock your phone. it doesn't matter what version of Android you're on.
Once he unlock your bootloader proceed to downloading developer preview 4 and run flash all command.
Once it has finished flashing Android p the phone will then reboot let it get to the main screen and then reboot the phone and put into bootloader mode.
Download TW RP image and run Fastboot boot ( twrp image ) and wait for it to boot twrp. When you're computer reads the phone, drag and drop twrp installer into phone and the install. Reboot to recovery >> flash magisk >> boot up
You can use the Verizon method on 7.1.1 or newer as far as I know.

Yes on Verizon, still no apps, rebooted multiple times and updated all playstore apps......no vzw stuff anywhere (not complaining, ha) just seems odd.
Is it better to OTA update to 8 then unlock/root, or is there another way (flash rom/modem...etc over 7.1.1, might not play well with bootloader though, jw).
Thanks.
Screens for proof....
Well im not on vzw but have a vzw pixel. My fi app downloaded when I put in the sim. Figured vzw would be the same.

Gotcha.
Edit: CID getter shows rom.boot.cid:[VZW_001], also checked verizon account, shows up as Pixel XL, not "non vzw device" which someone said it should say if it's google edition.
Ugh, any real difference between the Google edition vs VzW (except, ya know, the bleeping bootloader unlock)?
Edit: Got root/twrp, no problems.
Thanks again.

Not sure if this was answered already, but no. The bootloader being locked is the only difference.
