USB OTG - G Pad 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Couldn't find any info around the web but does any of the models support USB OTG?

It does support, but partially. When i plugged my USB 3.0 NTFS stick, it showed up in the Storage menu with the ability to mount it, but when i tapped it, showed unsupported filesystem message. I will search if it is possible to add NTFS support.

Thanks for the information!

I installed this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paragon.mounter and plugged in the ntfs usb stick and worked perfectly. It needs root though.

[Q]GN is not supported by OTG connection USB flash drive

Why I use OTG after you connect the USB flash drive, USB disk could not be found in the phone directory?
USB Host (or USB OTG, On The GO) is a documented feature in the manual but it does not appear to work. Someone figured out how to eneable it if you are rooted but I can't find the thread.
USB Host is working with stock 4.0.2. However, this is only for things such as mice and keyboards. If you want to access USB storage, root your device and install Stickmount from the market.
I can confirm that my GN GSM with the stock 4.0.1 rom doesn't recognize my keyboard and mouse using an OTG USB cable. A bluetooth keyboard does work however.
you need a true OTG cable, root and stickroot from the market. Also sometimes a custom rom, but usually not.
This is my setup and i've tested a usb microsd reader, 4 and 8gb flash drives, 2 mice and a usb keyboard.
Like I said, USB host was enabled by Google in 4.0.2. If you have an earlier firmware version, it won't work without a custom kernel.
Google did not however provide the ability to access USB mass storage. To do this you'll have to root your Nexus and install Stickmount.

[Q] NTFS Mounting (USB OTG)

Hi everyone,
I have a Note 10.1 2014 P605, which is rooted along with a OTG usb connector.
I can connect usb drives fine with exFat but not NTFS. I've tried various apps such as NTFS Mounter, Paragon and USB OTG Helper all to no success.
Just wondering if anyone would be able to help me out if possible?
Same prob

[Q] Ext HDD + OTG + NTFS mounting on this tablet - Anyone got it to work?

Has anyone got NTFS mounting to work, specifically from an OTG adapter and external hard drive? I see an old thread about NTFS mount, but the search function is broken on XDA (when clicking on a search result, it just takes you to the front forums page, not the actual thread you clicked on), so I can't read it.
I tried Paragon NTFS+, which works with my hard drive drive & OTG adapter when using my LG G2, but on my Note it fails to mount. Paragon doesn't give an error message, it just tries to mount for a few seconds then does nothing. I also tried NTFS Mounter, which crashes when trying to mount.
I ended up using Wireless File Transfer Pro to transfer a large file because MTP is broken on my laptop with all devices. I've tried everything under the sun to fix MTP, but it's just broken until I reimage this machine.
FWIW, I'm using CleanROM 1.5.

There are a couple NTFS Mount apps on the Play Store, none of them are working as of yet though.
When trying to mount using ntfs-3g and fuse.ko by hand, ntfs-3g stops with some sort of permission error.
My guess is it doesn't work with SELinux on Enforcing yet.

USB Plugin for total commander works.. It's a paid app but it works... Only thing though, you need to Total Commander as the File manager. It will also copy a file, temporarily, to the tablet. But it does read the NTFS 1.5Tb drive I plug in....
Ext HDD + OTG + NTFS
If you want your SM-P600 to mount and read NTFS formatted Hard drives you will nee to install the kernel shown here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2615959
After you do that you can install Paragon or USB OTG helper, the hard drive should be mounted and your tablet should be able to show the files on it if you use ES file explorer

Does this tab support OTG on stock?

I plugged in an OTG cable and USB stick. The tab said USB storage was found but in fact it did not see the USB stick nor what was on it. So, no OTG support for the stock ROM?
OTG works!
Seemingly your stick uses unsupported format.
Thanks
