Lg g3 kernel? - T-Mobile LG G3

Just curious if and when a kernel will be created for the g3?
Ive used samsung for a good couple of years and typically something was out a week or so after the release.
Just noticed in the tmobile lg g2 section that no custom kernel was ever created?!!!

I dunno bro in the note 2 and 3 days it took a few months before devs made a kernel. It gonna be a while.

good question but no one one this forum will be able to give you that answer. Its entirely up to when LG releases the source. TECHNICALLY, they are in violation of GPL already, but good luck enforcing that lol

Wow. I had no clue! Wish I knew how to develop. Can't believe we don't have anything yet! Development in the g3 is seeming kinda slow for such a great device.

Only one version has a truly unlocked bootloader and full custom recovery. Maybe there aren't many devs that bought the TMO G3.

Wow! Not every model has a recovery yet? That's odd. This was one of the easiest devices to root. At least the d851 was. Kinda sux the way LG does their models. But I know it was the same on the g2, this should be a much more popular phone than the g2 (imo), but development was awesome on the g2,so hears hoping!

Recovery has to do with bootloader, not root. The D855 has a tethered TWRP recovery. D851 has the only untethered one.

We just got the stock kernel compiling and booting ( without the 60 second lag it was causing) I am hoping to have something out over the next weekend. Can't promise anything though as I do have a full time job and a toddler.

Not at this very moment but I will let you all know.

Currently have intelli_thermal and intelliactive gov working, also intelli-KSM. haven't enabled OC'ing yet and haven't added in Faux's sound patch. as well as quite a few I/O Schedulers. As soon as I get it where I believe it to be stable I will release it.
My github is currently up to date with what I am running on my phone at this time. (I use FauxClock for all my kernel controlls)

You're on the v3.5
There's a v4.1 now but it's a bug elmination version with some features removed. If v3.5 is working well for you, stick with that for now.
4.2 is out, but I've been told gps isn't working on the 4G. Can someone confirm?

The spirit of Open Source is to share your knowledge and files with the rest of the world so they can improve on what you do when possible. This is also my philosophy and I would never compromise that!
You are free to use this ROM or any part of this ROM any way you like as long as you give proper credits!
Do not use my work if you cannot give proper credits!
Consider this your permission! Please do not PM me asking if its OK to build off this ROM. Permission granted!
However this does not include my CleanROM series of ROMS. Please do not use those without contacting me first!
This ROM is not a CleanROM. Its a stock rooted and all yours!
CSC Files are the files that tell your phone what kind of phone it is. For example; if you use the Verizon Patch files then this will convert the ROM to the Verizon version (sans the data icons) and allow you to access the Verizon Apps in the Play store. It will also set the APN automatically, etc...
This patch also has the correct RIL files and correct APK files, etc... To work with the Verizon Radio....
The patch in the OP can more than likely be applied to any 7105 ROM but I cannot assure you of that.
Please hit Thanks :good:

I plan on it. Posted stock rooted so I can get some feedback. I got screwed by Verizon. I bricked my first Note II, so they sent a refurb. The refurb is one of the phones that doesnt play well with ACE. I cant get the damn GPS to lock. Thats the problem VZW folks have with Ace. Granted only a handfull but now I am one of them
But yeah, I plan on using this as the next ACE Base.

Ummm.... Well... Pretty much the same honestly, some features, depending on locale could be different. But the devices are electrically the same so the ROMS are interchangeable.
I see huge improvements on performance. Navigation is faster. Less heat issues. I am yet to realize the impact on the battery. But overall looks good.

Sprint G2

So I've been playing with the sprint version of the G2 for a few days now and once I'm able to put it on my account I'll be rooting it. One problem though... I can't find the sprint section of the G2. Usually xda is pretty quick to have a section up before the phone is released. This phone comes out next week.
Anyone know where I would go for everything on the sprint version? Or am I a little too early... Lol
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk

I'm debating on getting one. The dev support is big to me, but I'm worried we might not get anything.
I thought the same thing when I got the optimus G but we had an amazing development community! I'm sure we will see some of those guys return for this device.

In the "I have the sprint LG G2" thread (I think thats what it's named) there is a link to an XDA page to request device forums. We have a few people that have posted in there to get us Sprint users some attention. I'll try and grab the link and put in here too so we can let XDA know we need our own forum.

Picked one up at lunch today from a Sprint employee selling on CL. It wont connect to LTE at my house through my cell booster. S4 and Note2 had no problems connecting to LTE here. When I was in town earlier the G2 had no probs with LTE. I wonder what's different about it.
It has some band 25 issues that will be fixed in an update soon after launch I believe.

Funny you mention that, I just saw it connect to LTE for a split second. The odd thing is the eHrpd speeds are ridiculous compared to my note 2. 1.8mbps, i've never seen it that fast before. I was lucky to see 0.3mbps when it would switch to 3g on my Note 2.

Just ran a speed test on my note2 before I go to sprint to get the G2:
129 ms ping, .47Mbps, and .66Mbps - let's see if the G2 can perform better I won't expect it to, but that would really be a nice surprise.
Anyone having LTE B25 connection issues?
I called Best Buy this morning to see where my phone is, they said it should ship today... He then asked if I would be willing to go to the store and pick one up instead. I said Hell yes, so I just got my confirmation that it would be ready today. Nice customer service for a change!

Make sure you download "flashify" from the play store and back up your current kernel first before flashing this. I know there are many ways to backup your kernel. Just thought I would share a dead simple way to back it up

Yes, this is for Dev Edition only. Unless we get Safestrap (which I hope we do) or, Unlocked Bootloader by way of codes, there's no way this is for use right now.

Screenshots of lollipop update on g3 released!

So plastic posted this just a bit ago. Enjoy! http://phandroid.com/2014/11/06/lg-g3-lollipop-screenshots/
It looks the same.... ugh too much LG skin and not enough Lollipop.
Transmission sent from my LG G3.
It better get a bunch more work done.
I love LG but come on. They are covering a lot of the goods up. It doesn't look much different from what we have now, which is a downer. So hopefully LG updates there interface atleast to go along with the look.

Yeah not diggin it if thats official.. I feel like though different variants will look slightly different.
Sigh looks like I'm going with the Android L launcher instead of LGs
Looks like we may be getting the update soon:

Right, and the Galaxy S5 will still look like Touchwiz, and the HTC One will still look like Sense. I don't understand why people think that OEM's with skins on Android were going to suddenly go all stock for Lollipop. We all bought a phone with a LG UI on it, now it's not good enough, because it doesn't look like a Nexus. I honestly don't understand why people are surprised by this. At all.

Well, I was hoping they would listen to customer feedback and get rid of the crap they call a TW. One can dream...

They have all invested too heavily in their own UI to scrap it for stock. The only way we're getting stock Android is buy a Nexus or flash an AOSP ROM. OEM's are never going to just suddenly go stock.
You all do realize that the UI is the least we should be interested in... Visual look can be modified, themed. I'm far more interested in all the system improvements.

Motorola was nowhere near Samsung or HTC is in their UI. I think the last popular Motorola phone was the Razr.
