LG G3 available for 400 USD or less? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am from India. I and one of my friends are planning to buy LG G3 / G2 this month. I was searching on the internet to buy online, and I came across a few posts in XDA stating that we can buy unlocked versions from e-stores with big savings? So my friend started searching on the internet and he found a few web sites which were about 200 USD lesser than those in the local market. Could someone confirm if this is true? Are they really available for such huge discounts? How do I make sure that they are not fake Chinese models?
I saw a few sellers on Ebay, Amazon and OLX. Some are selling for $454 and some for just $360 USD. That is just 18000 in India???
If anyone of you have purchased unlocked versions for such cheap prices and if you found them to be genuine mobiles, can you please let me know?
By the way OLX does NOT have any purchase guarantee. Can I get a refund if I find the phone to be fake from ebay seller?
~~~~
Thanks
[Q] [UK] Cheapest Place to get the Galaxy Nexus Sim Free
Hi guys,
I'm looking at buying a Galaxy Nexus sim free soon and was wondering if anyone knew of any deals around now.
At the minute I have found the cheapest to be Play.com at £340.
Using a website called TopCashBack I am able to get 4.04% back on my purchase which would make the total cost of the phone a little over £326.
Although I have found better deals on eBay and Amazon merchants, a lot of these seem to ship from Hong Kong which is something that I would like to avoid at all costs.
Thanks for any replies or help with this matter.
Mike.
That looks like a bargain off of play.com for a new UK phone from a reputable seller. I just got mine last week and ended up buying a used one off ebay for £220. I didn't see any that were new from the UK that would beat £326 when I was looking. The £330 ones off of amazon marketplace seem to be asian devices.
I have seen their website before but don't like the fact that they operate from Hong Kong.
Although their prices are cheaper I have read enough reviews to make me order from Play.com
Thanks for the suggestion though
The amazon.de offer was more like £300 after delivery costs and you have the disadvantage of dealing with a foreign retailer (the UK site won't support the purchase).
I did a lot of research before buying my OGP, as well. Swell device and I am more than satisfied with it. We have a small development community, but just enough to give you a taste of just about everything.
Go for one of the E98X ones. The F variants seem to have an even smaller development community here on XDA. You'd have to rely on Chinese and Vietnamese sites which are dominantly stock-based ROMs.
Not sure where you'd get one as I got mine through AT&T.
Thanks for the advice mate does make much difference which one of the E98X ones I get?
I don't really think so. Most ROMs say E980 (AT&T variant) but works on all E98X models (I think).
I just bought a near mint e980 on ebay for $270 USD. Even with shipping I doubt you can do better. Seller is wirelesshut2010.
You could also wait until the swappa.com UK site has one available.
I'm also in the UK and I brought mine of ebay but now it is broken and the seller doesn't care. I would be very careful as the phone will obviously be an import so the warranty will not work in the UK. LG UK will not fix your phone, even if you pay for it. Many online shops, such as simply electronics, may take a long time to ship to you as they may have to get the device delivered from hong kong etc. Also, most of these online shops have none existent customer services and they won't reply if you have a problem. From looking at google shopping, there doesn't seem to be anywhere in the UK who will help you if your phone breaks. However, if you do buy from shops such as simply electronics and value basket, you should eventually receive the product.
Why don't you get the LG G2? It is only £320 on Amazon UK.
All this said, I think swappa.com may be the best place to buy a US model in the UK (if one ever comes up). Swappa is an XDA offshoot and they have a very good system for matching buyers with sellers at fair prices. I just sold a phone there for a little less than I paid for it to someone who didn't seem to know much about what he was buying but it all worked out fine. They do not charge sellers. Buyers pay a flat $10USD. Another advantage is the built in protections of PayPal. I would not hesitate to buy from Swappa, although their prices tend to be somewhat higher than ebay's due to the buyer fee and shipping included in the asking price.
A few (not most) US sellers will ship internationally.
Here's one: LG Optimus G Pro (Unlocked) For Sale - JCP297 - $400 > Swappa - http://is.gd/tLP8aL
F240s,said to be mint. With international shipping will probably cost more. Keep in mind that a locked AT&T e980 is now $370 direct from the carrier. Of course given UK prices this might still be less expensive than ordering locally.
The problem with paying with paypal is that in the uk, if the worst happens, you can get your credit card company (not debit card) to give you the money back, but you are paying paypal, not the seller directly, so you can have problems with getting your money back, especially if the seller is an individual, not a business.
Where to buy one of these
I want to buy this phone, but I am wondering where are people getting it from since it's shipped from China I guess, just like a mint one from eBay or new from some Chinese site or what?
I got my from banggood.
Now i also can buy it from amazon(.de) too.
Just search for it. I mean you still saw one in ebay.
I got mine from TradingShenzhen. Took around 3 weeks but it was worth it, got a nice Chinese edition with 6/128. That's not available in Europe.
Ya true, I just mean like trusted sites or ones with better pricing that are not scam sites. eBay has not always given me the best electronics so it's always good to get some ideas.
Never Msrp is a good store to follow in ebay, and the shipping has options. I purchased the 4GB Ram 64GB global variant and other phones too in the past from them without problems.
