[Q] Nondroid restore problem

hi
I have a backup with my stock rom 4.1.2 with chhotu's cwm.
i upgraded to official 4.2.2 from sammobile & rooted it with phillz touch recovery,
After this i flash xperiaZ 4.1.2 rom from billi's collection unfortunatly i stuck with samsng grand duos logo in boot screen
i waited fo 10-15 min bur not further processed, i press power button long time but it just power off & power on automatically & stuck on the
same stage.
I think it is due to dwngradation of rom (4.2.2 to 4.1.2) (but xperiaZ rom are flashable with 4.2.2)
Then i flash my old cwm backup (4.1.2) with phillz touch with option restore from external sdcard
then i again stuck in same situation
After that i decided to again flash official 4.2.2 with odin & i suceed.
NOW i am in billi's gennext working perfectally
I have some question around
1) Is this situation due to downgradation of firmware?
2) Is this not able to flash x cwm backup in y cwm?

Ok, found a couple of things you did that were wrong
1. If you flashed 4.2.2 firmware, you shouldn't be flashing a ROM that is built for 4.1.2. It's true XperiaZ by balliboxer is compatible with 4.1.2 and 4.2.2 but they are TWO different ROMs for each firmware, thus the bootloop.

For Latest 4.2.2 version:

For Previous versions:

2. After you got a bootloop by flashing the wrong XperiaZ ROM, you tried to restore your nandroid backup from 4.1.2 on to a 4.2.2 firmware, which ofcourse was incompatible and therefore you got a bootloop again
So basically, you can install XperiaZ and restore your cwm backup from 4.1.2 on 4.1.2 firmware, so if you wanna use either of those you will need to downgrade to 4.1.2.
If you wanna use 4.2.2, install the upgraded 4.2.2 version of XperiaZ in the same thread.
And if you take a cwm backup of 4.2.2 you are using it can be restored on 4.2.2 firmware

Yes version of cwm will not matter just on the firmware you are using.
And make sure that you wipe cache as well as dalvik cahe after you restore cwm backup, this will not delete your apps or your data, just deletes their temporary files, basically allowing your phone to re-calibrate your apps according to it's current state

Ok now i am more confident in flashing.

[Q] cmw Recovery 4.2.2

Hi All
Im using galaxy grand duos i9082 and im on official firmware 4.2.2
i recently downloaded cmw_chotu.tar ( something ) to flush recovery menu.. i did same procedure as mentioned through odin.
but when i try to enter into recovery mode. its showing blank screen and restarts normally...
please need help.. i used custom roms for 4.1.2 i wanna try custom roms for 4.2.2

CWM (ClockWorkMod) Recovery
Try flashing again. Or download latest version of CWM non-touch recovery from xenon92 or philz touch recovery and flash.

[Q] sm-p605 custom roms

HI, can anyone point me in the direction of a good custom rom for the p605? i cant seem to find any that support this model?

Thanks so much for this - I have looked at the how to install the rom but can i ask one question? I tried to install the custom recovery in TWRP which found the device but when installing it ran the TWRP 2.6 and not 2.7.0.1 and when i tried to reboot in recovery i got a bootloop so had to reflash the stock rom. I am not sure if this caused the bootloop but because I dont want to make the same mistake again so can you step me through how to get the recovery ready prior to Intalling the rom in twrp??

first you must be on the 4.4.2 bootloader to flash this rom (flash P605XXUCNE2 with odin) 2 :make a fullwipe 3: flash TWRP 2.7.0.1(LTE) with odin 4: flash xKat v3.1 .The end

i have a note 2 gt7100 with phantom rom and nadia kernel now is on a bootloop i did wipes and flashed 4.1.2 and then 4.3 stock but still in bootloop

Seniors Pls help!
I was on stock ROM till now and one fine day my Note 2 suddenly switched off and since then its in bootloop. I tried everything(almost), flashing the latest firmware from sammobile, rooting, custom ROMs...nothing is working! The custom ROM and Bootloader installs using odin end with 'SW REV. Invalid magic string' or 'SW REV. check fail'.
Please suggest and point in the right direction.

pickup a stock rom first and flash it.

when i try to wipe or format data i get an error i think this is the problem...

Phantom rom worked fine with Nadia now i'm monting 4.3 stock but still in bootloop and i flashed CWM recovery... when i format or wipe data i get an error: error mounting/ data
... someone can give me .pit file try to perform a repartiotion?

try again flash with the Team Win recovery.

ok i try but i have already tried with CWM and didn't work and also i have tried flash 4.3 with .pit file to perform a repartition but nothing...

Do this flash latest twrp or philz recovery wipe everything flash phantom only and reboot recovery than wipe cache and dalvik cache flash rom again only now reboot to system , if it doesn't work than try older version of twrp or philz supporting 4.3

i9082 sticking in bootloader after flashing a new ROM

Hello Devs,
My grand is facing a problem with custom ROMs...
No matter whichever rom I flash by using any recovery be it TWRP, CWM or Philz.
The ROM works for 1-2 hrs and after that only shows the boot animation...
Precisely gets stuck into bootloader or bootloop...
The only thing it supports is stock ROM...
If I flash any other ROM be it android 4.4 or 7.1...
It works for an hour and then gets stuck into bootloop...
Plz help me...
