Thanks for your reply,
But if you take a video with the phone and want to send through MMS the file size is to big and there are no way
to compress the file to MMS Size.
Even if you capture the video in low size, it is to big for mms.

Then I would go for the Dropbox.
But still to bad for a highend phone

The limitation isn't with the phone... It's with MMS

success?
Anyone figure this out yet? Or a good alternative?
The phone is definitely capable- if you record video at the time of sending text(within attach) it can record up to 60 seconds and quickly send it via mms
I wonder how possible it would be to make a 'plugin' for mms to inlcude sending previously recorded
It seems all third party messaging apps ive tried require the receiver to also have the app

If I remember correctly, the maximum file size for MMS videos/files is something like 300K or maybe 3M at most. I can assure you that it is virtually impossible to record a video with those file sizes. Even if you would record 1 second of film, you would already exceed the limitation.
You could either try to record your video in 3GP format. If I remember correctly 3GP was created for these kind of situations. How you would go about recording in 3GP; I don't know.
Also, why would you even want to use MMS to send videos? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multimedia_Messaging_Service
If you want to share videos that you recorded, services like Whatsapp already convert your videos to a lower resolution so it takes up less space/size for transferring.
If you want to keep the quality, you can use Telegram or services like Google Drive, Dropbox, YouTube or Vimeo.
Maybe if you eloborate more on the subject we can give you a more appropiate/specific answer.
Cheers

This is my question as well but for the G4. Coming from the galaxy S4 where you can limit for mms in the video settings.

can't change video recording resolution

hello all, I need help in changing the resolution for the video recorder on the TP2. I've gone into the Advanced settings of the video recorder, but the option to change it is greyed out and is stuck on the small resolution. it worked the first day i used it a couple of weeks ago, but doesn't now. could I have installed a program that has taken control over this setting? thanks.
can anybody tell me what they have for this registry value?
HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\Video "EncodeVdoPath" String

Thank you both for checking. No, this happened before I added those extra camera modes. I'm (hopefully) attaching some pictures to see if you or anyone else wants to take a stab at this.
First is at HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\Video

Thanks for any effort. Much mahalos!
How are you accessing the video recorder? It seems to think it's in MMS mode, maybe try a few different approaches to launching the video recorder.

I normally access it by going to Programs, then Camera, then choosing Video. I've also accessed it through both links in TouchFlo3D. Each time, same result.
Are there any other ways?
Well it appears the setting I need to change is in picture 2. MainCamCaptSize is set to 2. On my wife's phone, it's set to 4096. When I try to change it, and soft reset, it changes back to 2. Any one have any ideas? Thanks!
Got a note from HTC saying that I need to do a hard reset to change my MainCamCaptSize value. Well duh! Please, can anyone take up my plight?

[IDEA/REQ] Phone logg / taskmanager

I have an idea of an ap that would be cool if someone would create
take like a logg for the phone where you can see what have hapend on the phone
say i play some music and then i send a sms and i get a missed call
then i can go back to the logg with press of a button i can there see what music have been playing what time and when call came in and when i sent sms and to who..
if the program for that task is still active (like the mp3 player) the border around it could be another color and clickable to bring that program up like on a taskmanager
trying to ilustrate here with a badly made picture what i mean
*oh and sorry for bad english

}
i hope you all understand my concept
Interesting... But how to implement such a feature... It would require to hook into every application to capture everything that happens on the phone and write it away to a logfile.
just a logg program that can logg what hapens to "tmail.exe" and phonecalls and such things ther is already... and for mp3 whell that was just example... i mean how hard could it be to make a program that runs in the background and checks what "exe" file you pressed? and then report "xxxx-xx-xx @ xx:xx" opend opera browser
and so on?
i think this could be a realy nice app if done
and i was thinking of just having it 24hour way so not that much will be in it that make it "slow"
maybe a setting that you can change "i want logg for x hours"
a catcher that catch what file being opend
a catcher that catch all call logs
a catcher that catch all mail / sms
you already today have aps that does this but 1 and 1 not anything like this that loggs it in an easy to read way
thats a good start?
so im the onlyone thinking this could be something realy nice and big? :O

If you were the programmer, you're understand that it is almost impossible to track every program on PDA. Maximum is to record what happens within PIM/Calls. For any other soft it would be required to create plugins that support needed apps. But I can't imagine for what such kind of program may be useful.

[Q] caller id screen

One quick question is it possible to change the caller I'd screen into full screen instead of the little pic but not by using an app that only works sometimes. Is there a way to change the dimensions in an apk somewhere
this is something that I'm hoping somebody is working on right now. There used to be one for the g1, but the work for it has been discontinued.
+ 1 here. Or at least make the picture look better, like high res or something.

If this is what you wanted then pm me
There's an app on the market for full screen caller id. You can set the level of integration in the app setting for incoming and outgoing calls, video caller id, or sms. I've had virtually no problems with it, just tweak the settings and its great. Just search the market for "full screen caller id"
Any luck on where that other thread is? Never heard of it and search is down at the moment.

Is there a "fix" for this?

I'm currently running Jelly Belly, though I don't think that has any effect on what I'm posting about, because this issue was occurring even before I rooted and ROM'd up my phone a while back. Basically, the problem (well, more like personal annoyance, I guess) is that when I get a call while my screen is off, only a sliver of the top of the contact picture shows. I thought the entire picture was supposed to show? Here's an example of what it looks like (I blacked out the phone number, so ignore that part):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When I bring the phone down from my face to end the call, the full picture is showing (along with a big red button to end the call), but when I actually get a call, it shows like it does in that picture I posted.
Is there any "fix" for this, or is that just how it's "supposed" to be?
I don't know why, but that picture looks creepy for some reason.
butter and jelly please...
My guess is that the incoming call is over laying the contact picture.

Heh, my dad doesn't really like to be photographed, but I want all my contacts to have a photo, so... Working on taking a better one, but eh, you know how people can be.

So, is there a way to fix/ change that? Like I said, it's been like that even when my phone was stock, pre-rooted/ unlocked, etc. Another thing I noticed, too, is that when I'm listening to music (via Play Music), the album art in the lock screen kinda does the same thing. That wasn't as big a deal to me as the contact pictures when I get a phone call, though.
You have to remove the picture and when you add it back you need to adjust the crop box until you get the image sized and positioned to your liking.

Higher Resolution Contacts?

Anyone understand the dependency on the contacts images? Some of them seem super low resolution. Not sure if this is an Android Wear issue, but the amount of pixelation is disappointing.
second that. pandora has great images, but contacts are terrible.

I resaved my contact pictures with high res pictures in my phone default contact list. You'll also need to use something different than hangouts form the time being. Textra pulls the high quality contact image, hangouts still looks like crap.

i think the biggest issue for me is LinkedIn. Most of my work contacts are associated through LinkedIn, which by default, brings in a low res picture.
Hopefully an update later on. It's a touch annoying to see my contact photos look so... Just.. Blah.
Sent from my LG-LS995 using Tapatalk
actually its not just contact photos - when you don't have a contact's image, and it uses a letter instead (or a blank head shot) even that appears low res.
This issue is currently being looked into by Google. Here's the current thread if you have anything further to add.

Thanks 640. Hopefully Google addresses this. I think that contact photos look beautiful on this watch when receiving a phone call, but horrid with Hangouts. But the funny thing is that the demo units and photos show "Alice Yang" with a high-resolution photo with an incoming Hangouts message.
I've yet to encounter a person who did NOT have this issue, and yet, I'm shocked that Google seems totally unaware of it. It's even showed up in almost every review of devices running Android Wear.
