Dirty Unicorns is a custom ROM built with stability in mind and optional customization. The idea to start this ROM began out of pure boredom around 4.1.2 on the EVO 3D and later turned into a form of an addiction (a good one) to see where we could go from there. We have since expanded to more devices to include the HTC One, Nexus 5, SGS4 and many more. We quickly realize that users loved what we were doing as well as other developers because it was done the right way. We've always had fun doing it and take pride in knowing that we've done it without having to bug the end user for donations to pay for server costs and/or any of those sob stories you hear. This ROM is 100 percent free and will remain that way.
Those wanting to use our ROM as a base are more the welcomed to do so but please maintained the credits/thanks below, do not ask for donations as it wouldn't be fair to do so considering and let us know as we often like to contribute to other projects.
As stated above, we love to maintain authorship but we also like to publicly praise those that have helped us along the way with our wonderful project. With that said, this wouldn't be possible without the work and help of those listed below THANK YOU ALL!!
| OmniROM | AOKP | CM | ChaOS | Paranoid Android | Slim ROMs | Preludedrew | Team Black Out | Official Testers / Translators |
Please check our gerrit/github for full credits/thanks of individual contributorsBelieve it or not, we are human and we do forget things. If we have left someone out of the credit/thanks list, just PM us and we'll gladly add on to the list.

SO WHY A NEW THREAD?
The old maintainer ktempleton has been hit with this thing we like to call LIFE and can no longer maintain the other threads.
For this reason, I've taken the steps necessary to make d710 updated to newest DU source as their new maintainer.

Very nice, and thank you dastin, very much for picking up, maintaining and updating DU.
Good lucks to ktempleton and I hope that he lives his life to the fullest.

Agreed, this is very awesome to see and this was a phenomenal rom back in the day... Thanks greatly dastin

Flashed this last night (along with TBO gapps from the OP) with the blaspheme 6.6 kernel/cwm and had no data... Clean flash on FL24 modem. Booted successfully but was unable to make it past the first screen (language select), although it may be because I was away from WiFi and the aforementioned lack of 3g data. Wish I could report more but that's as far as I could get.
Thanks for bringing this to us though, Dastin Your work is appreciated

I had problems also. The buttons on the first screen were to close. It was hard to press the arrow without making an emergency call. I finally got through the setup, but because I dirty flashed, I had launcher problems. I will try this again on my spare phone and see what happens. I will admit I saw a bunch of tweaks. Can't wait to try them out. The only bad thing was the battery was draining as I was setting this up. I was hooked to my laptop.

Your laptop isn't going to be outputting enough amperage to charge your phone while it's in use. USB vs AC charging amperage and all that

On this one bro, you are wrong. Sorry. The Extreme Kernel is like Blasphemy Kernel. Those are the only 2 kernels I knowthat will charge the Phone on USB. This kernel is not like that. THat is one of the things I asked about for the Villuminati ROM. It's one of the main reasons I stayed on PAC 4.2 for so long. Check out the Blasphemy Kernel page.

Isn't this the old version of the kernel that you released... Just checking because I am wanting a kernel on this for some undervolting myself.. Also guys I'm thinking some of the above guys are doing something wrong, as I am on the sch-r760 and this is running flawless right now

What kernel is running on this rom? I thought that Blasphemy hadn't been updated in months? Finally, is there any way to get extremekernelV2 to work on this rom? I love how it works on Commotio.

CM will not accept that commit due to it not adhering to stock values and a possible liability source in the life of your device.
If somebody wants to fork my kernel and add it in and do any other changes then they can freely do so: https://github.com/Team-Hydra/androi...msung_smdk4412

Is that all that is different about the extreme kernel that makes it different from stock? Because the stock kernel doesn't really like my phone for some reason...it's one of the main reasons that I use vanir because of extremekernelV2. There has to be more differences than just quick charging. Do we know who has done the work of the second version of extreme? Somehow get a flashable zip? I dunno...

We need to stay on topic of Dirty Unicorns. Sorry Dastin.

Talking about @dastin, you should change the DPI to 220 for our phone because you can barely click the button on activation.
It was mentioned earlier but the thread kinda went elsewhere.

-The Boot animation has the "D" cut off as well as part of the "N".
-On the welcome screen, The arrow is partly covered by the emergency call.
-If you don't touch the phone, after a few seconds, the "About" page shows up with SuperSU asking for permission to be granted to settings.
-Under Dirty Tweaks/Init. Tweaks, if you select super tweaks, the phone lags.
-86MB free in System
-Change the lock handle is cool. I have not seen tha mod befoe on AOSP.
-A cool feature is the addition of the weather in the status bar. It has a TW look as does the phone. As I try out things, this ROM seems to merge bot AOSP and TW. It only shows up on the pulldown.
-Unable to disable the hardware buttons and lights.
All in all still a slim (101 apps including mine) and Decent ROM. After adjusting the dpi, the bootanimation is still the same.
-It would be nice to know a little more about the Init.d tweaks.

[ROM][4.0.4][Toro] Apex v1.1.3: Features Keep Pilin' On! (5/13/12)

There's a severe issue with the dialer in 1.1.3. Thread has been reverted to 1.1.2 for the time being
This is a toro build of my maguro ROM found here:
http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1399238
Happy Mother's Day!
This is a generally stock ROM with mods chosen to add to functionality without detracting from the Ice Cream Sandwich experience that Google envisioned. I built this ROM from AOSP, merged in mods from CM9, AOKP, Gummy, RootzBoat, and other ROMS, to create what I feel is a perfect mixture of stock feel and helpful customizations.
I had a lot of fun building, testing, and running this ROM. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

Built from AOSP source code - 4.0.4 IMM76I base
Stock look and feel with useful mods
Device specific control app (Galaxy Nexus Parts, Crespo Parts, etc) for low level adjustments

Instructions
Wipe data and cache! Just wipe cache and dalvik if coming from Apex 1.1.x
Flash ROM file
Flash GAPPs file immediately afterwards, prior to rebooting (also if you are updating!).
Reboot
Profit
Quirks
Battery types sometimes don't change (just toggle back and forth until it does)
MIUI battery bar requires a screen toggle (on/off) to update after an orientation change
Yes, lockscreen and navbar settings SHOULD be under UI Customization, but I am lazy and cut some corners. Shh!
Things to be aware of
If Facebook picture sync is not working after contacts have synced, please clear the application cache and data, sign in again, and it will sync.
Please allow the phone some time to sync initially (calendar, picasa, bookmarks, etc.)
If market auto restore gets stuck, a reboot should fix it

Keep in mind they will only be 96x96 (just like in GB) so they will be pixelated for caller ID (pretty decent for SMS though).
For true ICS syncing (256x256), FB will need to step their game up and actually use Google's API (who knows if that'll ever happen).
There's also a paid app called HaxSync that will do high res pictures. It is $ .99
Has been running perfect, been on it for 30 minutes looks like I'm going to stay on this rom.. Ive tried almost all the roms on xda this has got to be the smoothest, keep it up
just curious whats the point of the screenshot option anymore? now that this is built into 4.0 cm9 doesnt need this anymore. is there a way to take it off?

I like that. Seems like a far easier way to get a screenshot than having to hold down on the buttons.
Anybody else having issues with exchange calendar sync?
Can anyone let me know if changing the grid size is allowed in this rom? I really like having a 5x7 grid...
I am not seeing any option to add in the wifi/bt/etc.. buttons to the drop down notifications, am I missing something or has that been excluded from this rom?
Is the kernel baked into ROM? Or do we flash separately? Also...is the Microbes live wallpaper there?.. just wondering.. will flash when I get home.

The kernel is included, I posted it up in the 2nd post in case anyone wants to get back on it or use it with another ROM.

You didn't mention it in the feature list, but it looks like you've also enabled the build in tethering options as well. Fantastic.
Only thing I missed from this ROM was the stock ui sounds, but I had a zip from a previous ROM to fix that. Seriously, A+ on this. I really love it. It's perfect.

Thanx!...Loving the ROM so far. Good Job.
Only thing is I wanted the notification toggles. Can someone post the link for zip here?
Also...NFL Mobile says this is not a Verizon Device. Downloaded Verizon Login, and app doesn't open. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Market shows Verizon Apps. FYI

[ROM][4.0.4][Toroplus] Apex v1.1.3: Features Keep Pilin' On! (5/13/12)

There's a major issue with the dialer in 1.1.3, I've reverted the links back to 1.1.2 for the time being
This is a toroplus build of my maguro ROM found here:
http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1399238

If it is based on the Sprint shipped ROM, I don't see why it wouldn't. Sprint Update is an app that tells you about new stuff with Sprint, including apps, usage tips, etc. I actually find it annoying.
bigxie, this ROM is looking great. Thanks for getting it over to Sprint. Will try it out tomorrow...
Edit: Very nice change log and documentation too.

I believe he is actually referring to the PRL and Profile Sprint Updates
There is no profile and PRL update in settings menu, which are sometimes useful to resolve network connection problems. Other than that, this rom is fantastic. It is fast, and has the type of extra features that are my style and useful.
I've been using it for a few hours, so I haven't tried everything.
My phone did get a little warm once, but it hasn't happened again.

Do any AOSP ROMs contain the update PRL stuff, or is it only in the shipping ROM?
If another AOSP ROM does, I may be able to kang their device config.
Also, I remember from my VZW days that you could update PRL with *22899, is there a similar such dialer code for Sprint?
Yes I think there is a dialing code.

Google maps works very well! I think this is the first rom where the compass works.

Good I have good eyes =] I have the perfect values for my epic 4g... it took me a pretty good amount of time to perfect the gnex. Especially since its an RGBG config than the regular RGB so you have to compensate more blue color for the lack of blue subpixels

I am not responsible for your device. My updates are tested before released! It must be your fault if you brick your device.Only flash on Sprint Epic 4g Touch!
Also please keep in mind that these are Custom System's and bugs are to be expected. Scott is working on the beanstalk project mostly himself and does not have a team that is helping him. Before reporting bugs, please make sure you verify everything on your end and make sure you do a full wipe and format first to make sure it is a legitimate issue. Im going to say this once and only once... He is doing this for fun and I am building it for this device. It is our CHOICE to share the work with everyone. If you decide that you do not like it, good for you.. Move on and flash something else. I will not accept complaining in my thread.

Flashing now then lol. Titanium Backup will be my friend tomorrow. I'll report back after I run this pony around the track.
Edit: So far so good. Superuser was being a little wonky at first. Wasn't able to get permission for a couple apps and tried to run some scripts in an adb shell and root permission was getting denied. I went into the built in settings and toggled superuser off and then back on and haven't had issues since.
I dig the visual style. Comes with an apollo app that I haven't seen yet and it is NICE. Boot animation is sick too.

I'm taking the same road going to flash quick before going to sleep then run it through the paces and looking forward to new rom.
I will try this in a few after assisting for exam tomorrow

GPS and CAMERA issues can occasionally be found here. Lack of GPS lock can be addressed by flashing stock ROMs and locking there, then flashing custom ROMs. Look it up.
Stock camera should have full and complete functionality after flashing this ROM. If you do not, you either need to reflash with a full wipe, or you may be that one percent that just has an issue. It happens, unfortunately. Please do not spam the thread with continuous questions about these two issues.
IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS AND NEED HELP, PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO PROVIDE DETAILED INFORMATION AS TO NOT ONLY WHAT YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES ARE, BUT THE STEPS TAKEN TO GET THERE AND FIXES ALREADY ATTEMPTED. IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THAT YOU SHOULD TRY TO WORK OUT YOUR ISSUES ON YOUR OWN BEFORE POSTING QUESTIONS. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO LEARN, AND IT WOULD BE CONSIDERED AN INSULT TO ALL WHO 'WORK' HERE TO NOT BE INTERESTED IN LEARNING HOW TO INTERACT WITH YOUR DEVICE. HAVE A NICE DAY.
Fixes :
STOCK CAMERA FIX THAT GIVES 12.8 and 13mp PICTURES!! Crystal clear! - Thanks to xboxfanj
Camera Mod O/C - boosts every aspect of this application - Thanks to Crwolv
CallTracker fix - solves in-call issues - Thanks to Shellnut

Hmmm. You got me. I didn't see it in there anywhere(you'd be surprised how many choices there are when you really look). I can put a font installer apk. in there. Don't know why it didn't occur to me. Font change is one if the first things I do too.

I live outside of Atlanta and have 4G coverage in all applicable areas. As a matter of fact, I typically have calling issues with Sprint, due to the fact that I work in a very rural area. I have noticed a drastic improvement in my in-call signal with this ROM. Not bad-mouthing any of the other great work here in this forum, just pointing out my own experience. Wish I could say I had done something spectacular to make it this way, but I didn't. It just seems to offer me better signal capabilities. Your experience may vary.
just curious, why are none of these source built roms in original development

I always assume that to place it in 'original development' it has to be original and official. Mine is neither so......
