Tips:
Some ways to reduce lag:
Turn ART on. You need to turn on the developer option feature. ART will load apps faster and save battery life. The version on KitKat is in beta, but I havent had any issues.
To turn on developer option:
1. On your Android phone head over to Settings->About Phone.
2. Now scroll down to Software Information and tap.
3. Next, scroll down and tap the Build Number for about 7 times, and a popup message will tell you 1. that Developers Options has been enabled on your Phone.
To Turn ART on:
1. Head to Settings-> Developer Options.
2. Tap on Select Runtime.
3. Select Use ART.
4. The phone will reboot and optimize your programs then you'll be good to go.
Another tip to fix lag:
1. Head to Settings-> Developer Options.
2. Scroll Down to Transition animation scale and tap it.
3. Select Animation scale .5
4. Select Transition animation scale and tap it.
5. Select Animation scale .5.
6. Select Animator duration scale and tap it.
7. Select Animation Scale .5
This Should Help speed things up. Another option is to replace the stock lg launcher. I personally use Nova Launcher Prime(paid version).
This is a link to the free version which is very good.
Nova Launcher:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher&hl=en
How to run any app in dual window:
First you need to have a rooted phone.
download Build Prop Editor
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.apps.build.prop.editor&hl=en
open the app and go to persist.splitwindow.support_all
tap on it and change the value to true, tap save and then reboot. Now you can choose whatever apps you want in dual window.

I have animation off, never really cared for it. With nova launcher, do you lose knock to turn the phone off and knock to turn the phone on? I love Nova, but really like the on and off.

You do, but you can get it back. Download this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock
Then go to nova settings. Then go to gestures and buttons. Find double tap. Tap on it then select the program you downloaded. Youll have knock on and off back.

Easy guys...lag bothers some more than others. ART goes a long way as does debloating and greenifying, launchers and animations to 0, FPS tweaks...all affect lag perception.

Disable Touch Key Backlight on Google Edition

I hope someone can help me out with this (I guess most of my posts arent worth bothering with as they usually go untouched by anyone). I'm trying to figure out a way to disable the touch button backlight on a Google Edition ROM. I have been searching for an answer since the Google Edition hit. All I can ever find is how to disable on GSIII ROMs (non ge). If anyone can please help me out I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Screen Filter is an app that can disable the backlight of the softkeys. Set it to auto-start at boot and you should be good. I know its not a direct fix but its a low impact app that shouldnt effect battery life or operation.

Seems to work for me. Did it dim the screen at all (thats its main function)? Did you see the check box "enable softkey back light" (uncheck it) at the bottom of the app ui?

Yes, it did dim the screen, but if i uncheck the enable softkey back light, anytime I touch the screen the backlights still come on. Are you on a G.E. rom? I am currently on Infamouse G.E.

No im not. I am on AOSP (Slim Bean) though.
There are options to do this in AOKP and CM roms. Anybody know how those builds pull it off?

Resolution To High For GPU

I've just purchased this phone and overall I like it. One thing I think is holding this beast back is the resolution. The GPU seems to seriously struggle - it's even noticeable when switching apps, navigating the settings, etc. It just seems like it doesn't have quite enough grunt.
Is anyone else experiencing a similar thing?
I was using an Xperia Z2 earlier today and everything seemed far more fluid and smooth. I'm honestly considering selling my 2 day old G3 and switching to a Z2.

I recorded a video of my screen via some app. In running nova with animations at the fastest for the launcher because I don't care about transitions. Is still very fast to open spots as you can see below. I'm sure you can see that it's fluid for the most part besides my jerk's between menus scrolling like I have ADHD

Another way to reduce LAG on LG G3-D855

Guys...Found another way today to reduce the lag on G3...Now it feels like my phone is stable...Just try it...its working for me...
1. Go to "Developer Options" .....change the default Runtime "Dalvik" to "ART"
The phone should reboot and will take several minutes to optimize apps while its booting. If you find some apps that are not responding when they are opened, just uninstall and re-install them.
Google to know more about Dalvik & ART runtime.
2. Go to "Developer Options" .......Disable(OFF)all animations: Transition animation, Animation duration & Window animation.

This has been know to be done on the majority of devices that have kit Kat that can support ART. I don't understand what the deal with everyone trying to increase the speed of their G3. When I got mine it ran fine granted I rooted it but still it ran fine. Games didn't lag on High Quality and launcher didn't redraw or loss of frames. The benchmarks are merely synthetic and do not reflect the devices performance at all.
I recommend ART cause its faster when you start an app and it takes you one step closer to android L. Also the whole getting rid of animations is the closest thing to a placebo but granted it does feel snappier.
The LG G3 is a pretty tight phone and if you don't think its stable or fast then you must live a fast life style.
Cant run ART
When i select ART from developers option. My phone reboots and nothing is changed. It is still Dalvik. I tried multiple times but no success. Help

Should be an easy fix on the software side because the hardware is the same as competition ..just hope for the best ..
Tested ART. Phone is butter smooth. But back to dalvik since i cant breath without xposed framework on lg g3. Since we dont have custom roms.
There is no butter smooth feeling. I have test all tweaks and roms and i can say no butter feeling on the g3.

Really upset with LG. with lock bootloaders we cant enjoy custom ROMs. Wasted money on LG.
i unstilled exposed and lg 3 tweak box and when phone restarts, its still under dalvik....

In shortcut master lite search "thermal" - two results should be returned. Select the following option (should be the second result returned): com.lge.hiddenmenu.thermalsensor.ThermalMitigation

Hidden Menu benefits

Hello guys, has the title says, what benefits I can get from the hidden menu on the G4 H811?
I recently turned OFF Fast dormancy mode and I see tons of options like changing bands on LTE or even LTE aggregation.
Any options I can turn on OFF that give positive results?

Not really and sometimes launching those activities outside their intended original source can cause all kinds of crazy **** to happen.. now you can use the app quick shortcut maker and make a direct shortcut to all kinds of system settings and a bunch that you cannot even get to MV system settings menus which is really cool like a direct shortcut to the usage manager that shows your battery running apps and data usage in a single section altogether that's not in the regular settings and all kinds of other settings and some that have been disabled by the carrier… be careful and for god sakes do not touch the system shutdown monitor activity because I saw someone take weeks to figure out how to pool their phone back out from a solid brick where the power wouldn't even come on at all just by clicking launch on that activity lol
