[ROM][4.4.4] Baked KK-1.0 [Unofficial build] - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Well I have seen no new BAKED (black android kang everyone desires) roms anywhere. Yet their github was updated last on july 6. While not extreamly current it is kitkat 4.4.4 source. So I got everything synced up and compiled and now ready to release this to the public.
What to expect. Well like I said source was last updated on july 6 and looks like that might be the end of baked. So my plans are to do one good build and let it ride without any update unless source updates.
This is a pure source build with nothing added only changed default dpi to 245 instead of 320. I will modify the zip later to include a few tweaks and a couple of apps.
So far everything I have tested has worked fine.
Install steps
1. Backup internal sdcard to pc (not required unless you have issues then I will ask that you do it)
2. Boot into recovery (philz recommend, NO TWRP!!)
3. Backup current rom to external sdcard
4. Factory reset/clean for new rom
5. Mounts and Storage .. select format data/media (internal sdcard)
6. Reboot recovery
7. Install Rom and reboot
8. Once booted go into settings.. about phone.. tap on build number till it enables developer options
9. In developer options enable advanced reboot
10. Reboot into recovery and install gapps (this will keep you from having to skip through the activation junk)
Optional steps
Install plasma's cm 2.53 kernel and synapse for best performance and battery life
Fix for vpn
Thanks goes to @deviouskind
Before you try setting up vpn setup a secure lockscreen (pin or pattern only)
If you dont vpn settings will fc and you can not set it up
Links
Rom-- Removed
slim gapps-- Removed ( I use full package so more gapps are black )
plasma kernel-- Removed (use the cm version)
MODERATOR EDIT - LINKS REMOVED UNTIL SOURCE CODE IS LINKED PER GPL REQUIREMENTS

Screen Shots
For Netflix users there is a new script in init.d that allows netflix to run without any issues. There is no need to use the xposed module for netflix so you can now use netflix with ART enabled. First two screen shots have a cm11 theme applied. Baked uses the new cm theme manager although there are not many themes out yet.

last one

Flashed and so far everything is running super smooth.

Finally, a blacked out ROM, thank you for this.

Looks great!

Yeah fresh off the press that rom is.
ro.build.date=Fri Aug 8 02:43:31 CDT 2014
That was time when build.prop was created during the build process. I installed right after and been running the heck out of it (using plasma) played gta III for 30 mins after I enabled ART. Netflix played a few episodes never a glitch or stutter.

Very nice build. Thanks! LTE, GPS, MMS, WiFi, camera all work. I had to use liquid smooth gapps because I was getting fcs with slim full build 7 gapps.
Will continue to use this weekend but won't have time to check out all the options.

http://www.drdevs.com/devs/teamliquid/Gapps/ build 6. There's white text on white background when you have to accept an install in the play store, but that's the only gapps issue I've found. No biggie

Yes I have seen that in a few places also. I have been using slim gapps 6-112 since I already had it downloaded.

Thought I'd try to flash this rom. Unfortunately I have the same result as 10.1 stable.

I flashed this to my Virgin Mobile phone to get root and be on MD4, http://rwilco12.com/downloads.php?d...H-L710)/Stock ROMs/JB/MD4/Full Restore/Rooted
I wasn't able to use a custom recovery until this was released yesterday, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391616
The other recoveries would flash just fine (I could install them but they couldn't read any storage) but they wouldn't mount anything. This recovery works perfectly.
I tried all the stable versions up until 10.1.0, some other guy with my same issue tried 10.0 and no dice.

[ROM][4.3] Android 4.3 for Xoom (Experimental)

I have made a pure Android 4.3 build for Xoom Wi-Fi and want to share it to the community. There are still many problems waiting to be fixed as it is in the early development stage. Currently it is only released for testing purpose so don't expect it to be a daily driver. Please backup your whole system before testing! Due to the growing size of the system I only included necessary files in the Google Apps package. All missing Google Apps should be available through the Play Store.

It's all working for me.
Only observations are that it says no service on the lock screen and there are occasional very minor graphical glitches when a menu screen appears.
Otherwise, thanks for all your efforts
From what I can gather, hardware wise everything is working.
I've tested: Camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI.
Other than some graphical glitches it works great

I have the same experience. Updating a 4.2.2 ROM appears to have no ill effects.
The only thing I would add is TB can't backup - it complains about insufficient free space, although there is plenty.
The main issue is lack of root and the fact that the SuperSU .zip fails to flash on the Xoom.
edit: the solution to SuperSU .zip fail is to replace the "update-binary" and can be found in the SuperSU XDA thread.
I have Root
Using BaNkS Core Gapps I have 47.7MB free System.
I simply flashed ROM,Gapps and amended SuperSU in TWRP and the update goes smoothly.

Currently it is a pure Android build so it contains no other features that aren't available in stock Android system. I will add them back in future builds.
Currently the most noticeable problem is the graphic glitches showing on launching apps, dialogs and menus. I heard from other developers that it is related to the system base we used to create our builds. I will start from another base to see if it fixes the problem. After solving the problem I will start merging changes from my 4.2 builds.

Understand completely. After using for a few hours, this is definitely a step forward from 4.2.x. Noticeable improvements in responsiveness (must be the extra butter) and overall performance. Given that this hardware is 2 and a half years old, it's doing pretty well.

From my personal experience, yes. I've been using the lag fix app over the past month and it has been as noticeable change in performance (not as much as 4.3 itself, but noticeable). The first TRIM lasted about 2 weeks, and when it felt slower I ran it again. Hoping that Google's baked in TRIM will produce similar results on a ongoing basis.

Any chance we can see some unofficial cm10.2 built off of this down the road?
Also, I have the same question as extremetempz. The galaxy players got a huge performance boost when the Deva there bumped the kernel up to Linux 3.0 from 2.6

Hey guys! I love me some Carbon! I did notice though that wifi tether does not work. Id love to share a logcat but dont know how. Tether turns on and shows a signal but there is no transfer of data. I went back to mahdi and Ive got a connection again. One other thing I had to do with Carbon was update the apns for better service. Aside from that its got to be the smoothest KK build ive run to date.

Hmmm. In regards to apn's, I'm wondering what happened. It had the wrong ones to begin with, swapped in the right ones I thought. I'll check it out. As for tether, I'll have to look into it, see if we can get anything done. I haven't tested it myself, but never use the built in tether feature anyways. I'm hoping to have my geespr build up this evening(no promises though), maybe that'll have working tether for you.

I was not aware. I just tested it, I'm not having any issues. Pushed lots of buttons. What did you do to get it to FC?

New build up in the OP. Has some neat features added in, should have the right Sprint apn's. Let me know if you guys catch any bugs.

I'm not having any issues bud. I'm using DSP settings and running Pandora right now...no issues at all. Like Spleef said, try a clean install. Are you using the kernel that comes with Carbon or did you flash another one?

4.4.4 MIUI AOSP based (coming very soon)

Figured i would start a thread so we can share what we know so far. It is getting close and there were a few beta builds but nothing public. Looks like it will make a huge leap currently it is 4.2.2 for v5 but v6 looks to be 4.4!

I would love to see a official v6 build for the note 2.

I am sure the note 2 will get an official release but I doubt it will be our version. We will most likely only get ports for our device. The international versions usually get all the miui goodness.

Well it has been a while since I have been here but figured I would give everyone a little preview. Also I need 5 testers who have sprint service and 4G LTE that can test for me since I am on cricket service. What I have is an AOSP based 4.4.2 MIUI!! Please send me a PM if you want to test. First five who reply will be able to test. I also have one extra spot for someone who has followed my MIUI work and I will shoot you a PM about this.
If you don't get enough testers PM me. I don't have 4g at home and won't be back to work until Tuesday to test those functions but I would be happy to help if needed.

I will hook you up with the next test version. The current one lacks a working dialer but I pushed the aosp dialer and it works so I will use it for now.
Cool. I just tested to make sure I have good backups so I am ready.

Okay here is a new tester. I have included the aosp dialer (miui dialer does not want to work) along with a few other aosp apps. Also miui superuser does not work so you will have to flash supersu if you want root.
Known issues
miui dialer
miui themes
camcorder (settings need to be changed video encoder needs to be mpeg4) change settings before turning on recorder
everything else I have tested works gps, mms, calls, data (on cricket network not sure about sprint users still waiting on feedback)
Extras I have included
AOSP stuff
dialer
music
gallery
nova launcher
trebuchet
beanstalk explorer
terninal C-lock widget
Instructions
1. backup current rom
2. flash rom
3. flash gapps
4. flash supersu
5. boot and enjoy

I don't know if your upload or my download was corrupt on supersu but I had another one and that worked fine.
Install worked great. boot time was reasonable. I couldn't get your dialer to work so I grabbed one from the play store (first one in the list by modohut) worked fine at least for outgoing calls haven't tried calling in yet. I couldn't get sms to work at all so I installed hangouts and that works fine for me(not my preferred app but it works). No other issues so far but I am still testing. Thanks for the upload.

You have working 3g and 4g data?
When you installed you only had one dialer? The posted zip should have miui dialer (not working) and an aosp dialer. The stock SMS/MMS worked for me see pic below. FYI Google xda lg g3 keyboard. Works great on this ROM. Also try out WSM tools along with the mi-tools module. This is a mini version of xposed and works well also.
Last bit of goodness you will find in your inbox in a little while. A modified plasma 2.53 kernel to bring lots of extras to the table.

3G seems to be working I am getting 400k to 600k down, I don't have 4g in my area but I do at my work so I can test that on Tuesday.
There were 2 phone icons one in the dock which is green the other on the desktop which is blue they both force close on me. I used http://www.callmylostphone.com to test incoming calls and I am indeed able to call with the the one I downloaded. I have never used the one from the play store before I just wanted to see if a random one would work.
Not sure why sms didn't work it didn't give any errors but didn't send anything either.
I will try the new kernel and let you know how that goes.

Philz has an option to do a wipe for a rom install, I did that as well as wiping cache and dalvik. Is there anything else you would want me to try? I would be able to try reinstalling tomorrow morning (almost my bed time now). The kernel you PMed me boots and shows in about phone. I downloaded Synapse from the playstore, wow that is a lot of options not sure I should be messing with some of them but I will definitely try a few of them out.

The sms/mms was my fault. It does work I have uninstalled hangouts. The phone I can not get working with the two default ones.
I get a lot of crashes complaining about themes not working even though I haven't tried to set one as you said it was broken.
Off to bed now. Thanks again.

AICP [5.0.1][unofficial]

Well I have had this out on my other forum for a bit now and figured it was time to share here on XDA. This is an unofficial build of AICP so if you have any issues please post here and no where else. If you like what AICP has done then go to their G+ page and thank them because they did all the hard work not me.

Evervolv does not have network traffic. Actually Evervolv has almost no extra options and will not have much added to it. It is designed to be extremely close to stock aosp.
I have tried netflix on every lp rom and it does not work. This is a note 2 issue. Netflix does work on there devices.

AICP 10 / 5.1.1 build?
Is there a stable AICP 10 (lollipop 5.1.1) build for the Galaxy Note 2 SPH-L900? I recently installed the stable version on my daughter's Galaxy S3, and I really like it. I'd like to put the Ice Cold Project on my Note II, but I can't find it anywhere. Any pointers? I'm really not in the mood to deal with all the sudden problems that pop up in nightly builds.

Jlmancuso got banned, so I'm not sure we will ever see more development on the roms he was working on. The note 2 is getting less and less development as it ages, just the natural life cycle of phones.
I see Jlmancuso got banned? He seemed such a great help here! Hopefully someone can shed some light on that one!
But I also just installed the ROM and do like it. But seem to have 1 weird issue in that my camera will not work. At first it only showed the front facing camera, and not the back. And then after trying to switch to video, it also can't find the camera.
I'm going to try and load a the camera.apk from the Alliance Rom (my former rom) if that is possible. But everything else seems to be working good on it.
