[Q] Bootloader unlock code!!! - Sony Xperia ZL

Hello, first of all I apologize for my bad english. :silly:
I have a carrier locked Xperia ZL, and my bootloader status says "Bootloader Unlock allowed: no", but I tried to get the bootloader unlock code from sony and they give it to me!! My question is, can i use that code? Does that mean I can unlock my bootloader? Or sony always give the code regardless the bootloader unlock allowed status?
I guess this is a newbie question, but I don't want to ruin my phone! [emoji16]
Tanks a lot!!

There is no point in trying to do the bootloader unlock, if it says Allowed: No.
I think that if you try, it will fail. It should not ruin your phone.. it should just simply tell you that the attempt has failed.
If you do try, let us know what happens though

if you are getting both bootloader and sim unlocked then it is well and good. I thought you had t choose between bootloader unlocking and sim unlocking. Coz bootloader unlocking is very simple compared to sim unlocking.

[Q] Arc S locked bootloader question

Hi,
I have Arcs S with release date 12w36.
From what I've read there is no method right now to unlock bootloader with status allowed: no.
I want to ask if unlocking SIMLOCK (I'm going to unlock it by my operator) will change this status to yes?

No, it won't.
Only paid services (testpoint method) can do it. And they unlock bootloader at the same time aswell.

I asked Alejandrissimo for unlocking my Arc S (12w36) and he told me "12w36 has new security, no way to unlock by testpoint." So I ask again is there any method to unlock bootloader (paid method is fine)? (Stasus: No)

Bootloader Unlock Allowed - NO!!

I just check my ZL and it says Bootloader Unlock Allowed - NO
Does that mean I will never be able to unlock the bootloader and install custom ROMS? I have my phone rooted and its also SIM free if that matters. Would someone be kind enough to explain the consequences?
TIA

Don't worry mate (if initially your "BL unlock allowed" was "yes")! I read it in the XZ rooting thread that if you root with a locked BL then you might have a bug resulting into BL unlock status to not allowed. Doomlord has also posted a fix for this, i think. Have a look at this thread. Hope it helps.

The thing is, I didn't check if I was allowed to unlock my bootloader before I rooted it (banging my head against a wall as I type this). Any way to find out?
EDIT: Nevermind, I see that I have to flash it and if I had an unlockable BL, the status changes to yes, and if not, then nothing changes. However, how do I flash this seeing as how there is no CWM out yet?
AW: Bootloader Unlock Allowed - NO!!
There is CWM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39157612
But just for unlocked bootloader...
CWM for locked bootloader would be coming... krabapple is working on it...
hi mates,
if unlocking BL, i will lose BE2 & WM right? sr if this noob question was answered before
AW: Bootloader Unlock Allowed - NO!!
Yes, you loose that functionality.
And please don't ask the same question in several threads. Ask once and have patience until someone replies.
I have Xperia Z LTE C6603 with
bootloader unlock allowed:No
I Can change this to --> bootloader unlock allowed:Yes ?
as I can change it ?
Thanks.

[Q] Unlock bootloader with recently unlocked sim lock

Hi,
I have recently unlocked my Xperia S.(removed simlock by unlock code from o2)
However I want to unlock my bootloader now.
Of course I can't, when I access the service menu it says bootloader unlock allowed: NO.(Probably because of my carrier o2)
So my question is, what should I do next? Contact Sony? Or is my phone never going to be able, to get unlocked?
Thanks in advance

I have the same thing with ny DoCoMo Acro HD (S). YOu will probably never, ever, be able to unlock the BL. Just like I can't. Sorry.
The only way is to go to O2, get them to agree to unlock your BL (if you can find a member of O2 staff who knows what a locked BL is...), then you will have to send your phone away to a Sony service centre, as it's not something you can do with a code. Only a Sony engineer can do it.
So, there you go. It's unlikely you can unlock your BL. Sorry. I haven't even tried.....

SO,
when I used o2 live chat and asked for help, he told me to go aks sony because he can't help.
Sony told me that they can't help me either
Is there any illegal way of unlocking it?

You cannot unlock your bootloader if it says NO. Never.

If O2 won't help you, then no. It's the only way. But chances of O2 staff having any idea what you are talking about is slim to none. Stock answer is to tell you to contact Sony.

I know how you feel.....I brought my phone outright, and never had a DoCoMo contract, but 'cos it's branded, I'll never get it unlocked. Gutted, mush.
Of course it is possible to unlock the bootloader, even when it is in NO state.
When S1 Server was available that was done on many phones.
If you unlocked your phone legaly you have to contact your network and they have to send phone to Sony Service, only they can do it.

If I sim unlock my phone, can I unlock the bootloader?

My phone says that the bootloader can't be unlocked but I want to unlock it and I don't know how to do it

If it says "Bootloader Unlock allowed: No", then it is not possible to unlock Your bootloader. Probably Your device is a Operator locked or something similar too. Also, there was no need to create a new thread, You could have simply posted in here.
Bootloader unlock of LT28AT is impossible?
