Looking for IR app to my Air Conditioner - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I looking for IR app to control my AC.
The built-in app doesn't have option to add AC and in learning mode it's learn the button but doesn't work.
I read about ZazaRemote but this app doesn't works at LG.
Thank you !

It's not fully compatible with the G3.
can't record :\

i think LG
did not make the IR blaster API available

The G3 ported ROM for LG G2 have that option:
http://dl-1.va.us.xda-developers.co....jpg?key=952pdObH-iSJNuJWKrFbCA&ts=1408306115
Now i really don't know if is possible to port to the original G3 ROM, maybe you can talk with the developer, CloudFa.

Used the learning function to control my AC. I have noticed that you have to be pointing the G3 right at the receiver on the AC or it just doesn't work. Seems like the G3s IR blaster only shoots in straight lines, not like a traditional IR remote for a TV.

Zaza remote, or another name for it is iremote
Note 3 rooted knox 0, bootloader locked, my last Samsuck crap. I want freedom.

Smart IR Remote does work on the G3 now. Using it with my air conditioner - works fine.

I had this exact issue with my Frigidaire air conditioner as I lost the remote and Smart Remote anymote worked just fine even if I couldn't use the learn mode.

Kitkat (Android 4.4) has built in support for IR Blasters?

I Quote:http://www.knowyourmobile.com/android/android-kitkat/19689/android-44-kitkat-launches-release-date-features-and-all-sweetest-news
Built in support for IR blasters
“Android 4.4 introduces platform support for built-in IR blasters, along with a new API and system service that let you create apps to take advantage them.”
That means all new Android handsets, providing they have latent IR functionality, can be used to control a myriad of devices including your HDTV and stereo.
And because the API is open to developers there’s likely to be all kinds of IR Blaster features added to current and upcoming applications and content inside Google Play.

...So does this mean we can finally get auto-learning IR Remote functionality on our LGOGP, similar to what the LGOG2 has

[Q] Alternative IR App

Hello devs. Is anyone aware of any third-party or alternative IR blaster apps for the Xperia ZL? I've been looking for an alternative to the stock remote app, and tested a few third-party solutions like TouchSquid, to no success.
I would like to be able to use the IR blaster with a custom ROM like CyanogenMod, but it's clear that simply installing the stock app won't work because it requires the Sony framework. CyanogenMod is reportedly working on IR blaster support, but I've no idea when that'll be available.
Any ideas?

+1 on this.
I've searched as well and haven't had any luck.
My main gripe is being unable to make a shortcut to the macro's in the sony IR app.
Touchsquid home works well..the only drawback is that it although it automatically adds the remotes configured by the user in the stock remote control app, manually adding the remote by searching the device, brand, different remote control types,etc,etc....can be very challenging ......also the UI of the app takes time to get used to and know how to use it.Also sometimes if u face the no response from your device issue while controlling it from touchsquid,I found a workaround for this,
I.e. -->firstly open the stock remote control app & add the remote according to your device,
-->minimize it (don't close)
-->now (most important step) while opening touchsquid app, cover the IR blaster with your hand
-->then switch on your device with any remote of your device(although it can be done with the stock app,but this is if u face the "no response" thingy )
-->now u can operate ur device
I know that the above steps sound very silly, but I could only make it work ,that way
Also if you want other apps, try dijit app from playstore it's quite a good app with a nice, clean UI
If you feel that I've helped you in anyway, please hit the thank button

Thanks for the response. However, the Touchsquid app cannot work in custom roms because of what you stated -- it requires the stock IR remote app to configure, which does not work in custom roms.
Dijit does not work with the ZL, and requires an external bluetooth IR device, which completely defeats the purpose.
ive seen some ir remote apps in htc one apps section ...give those a try and see .

[Q] IR Blaster doesn't work on CM11

Does anyone know how to enable the IR blaster through CM11?
I was on a stock G3 Rom for my G2 previously, and the IR blaster worked perfectly.
I then went back to CM11 because of boredom and shutter bot wont work with my camera anymore.
I dont care about the TV remote, I just want to use remote shutter for my camera.
Thanks!
And THAT, is one of the many reasons AOSP is pointless on this phone. Sorry that I dont have a solution for you and I hope you find one. But things like that, functions that are found on stock that's not on AOSP, is one of the many reasons stock>>>>>>>>>>AOSP on this phone.

LG G6 - DashCam App which uses the wide angle cam *found* !

Hello!
I use my phone as a dash cam.
Works pretty good, but all dash cam apps I tried are using the "normal" camera and not the wide angle cam.
But the wide angle cam would be perfect.
How can I switch between the two cameras or does anyone know a dash cam app which uses the wide angle?
Rgds, Martin
EDIT:

Solution found, it should also work with
V20, G5
Install DailyRoads Voyager Pro from PlayStore
After install go to authors homepage
On the right hand side, download APK "Pro version with wide-angle" and install it as update over the Version from PlayStore.
It works for me on the LG G6 (H870)
EDIT2:
I am not the author of this app and I am not related to the author!
I don't think the wide angle is exposed in the camera 2 API. It's unlikely that you will find a third party app that will ever support it.

Whatsapp uses both lenses, so why dashcam app couldn't do iit ?
Good question, looking for the same!
I have asked the developer of the dashcam app I am using.
If I get feedback I will let you know.

Interesting, I just installed WhatsApp to check this out. Where do you switch it to wide angle?

by pressing the camera symbol in the right hand corner (as soon as you have activated the camera in WhatsApp)
It switches the camera, "back wide / back normal / front "

Does this need a sim card or internet to work? Curious because I want to run my old g4 with this but obviously its not connected to a mobile network.

You can run this app without any internet/network connections.
There is the possibility to upload videos, but no need.
I have blocked all network connections to this app via firewall.

Fantastic! Thank you
For those coming from Google: Autoguard is another app that uses the wide-angle camera by default.
Useful thread, never thought about using mobile as dash cam.

Works pretty good. The dash cam app starts as soon as bluetooth is connected to car radio.
So you don't have to think about starting that app.
Playing music over bluetooth and using navigation app at the same time works without problems.

On LG-Developers website, there are libraries to use the second back-camera.
I'm using them in my app, they all work.
Is there an app that films 4:3 in full Resolution with the wide angle camera?

Mi 10 t ir blaster

Hey all
Couldn't find my TV brand in any app so I downloaded anymore to add the remote manually (self learning)
And I got a message saying my phone doesn't support ir commend learning and that it's an hardware problem that cannot be resolved through software.
Any way to fix this.?
Tnx
dont think it have this feature like the lg v20
why the blaster is work twice whit one touch ?
i touch one time a bottom but it work 2 time
Yes, the phone doesn't have an IR receiver that would be necessary for IR code learning, only an IR blaster. So... If the stock app didn't have your TV... You should look for a 3rd party app that might.
i love the lg v20 so much... so sad have to let it go... the remote learning was one of the best feature including the quad dac audio
