Maybe if you bought a second device, otherwise I don't know. I guess you get it through your device serial number when the app comes preinstalled
PS: just claimed mine thanks to this post

The dropbox offer is only valid once per account.
I tried with my s3, note 10.1, and s4 but it only activated once.
The way I got around it is to create 5 dropbox accounts, and activated each to 50gb. (You need to clear app data between activations)
It expires after 2 years, but whatever is on there wont get deleted.
So I have one where I keep my clonezilla images (47gb), another where I keep all my drivers/firmwares (35gb), one where I keep my encrypted Titanium backups for all my devices (41gb), one for my music playlist (24gb) and another where I keep ebooks and audio books (32gb).
I use dropsync from playstore, and configure multiple profiles in titanium backup to manage backups and syncing between all the accounts.
good luck
If it aint broke, you haven't modded it enough

Where and how do i clear the app data?
Note that i'm not rooted.
Thanks in advance

Free 50 gig storage from Box.com

Hey I stumbled across this piece of gold and had to share.
Box.com has a new promotion going on. You log into Box from ANY android device (tablet or phone) and your account (preexisting or new) is upgraded to 50gig.
For my buddies that have iPhone i just let them log in from my phone and bam!
"Congratulations, Your account has be upgraded to 50Gig"
The offer ends March 23 btw.
Please let me know if this post should be elsewhere.

Agreed. That is definitely a weak point and is only part of a business/enterprise account.
If you download Box's SimpleShare (win and mac) you can just drag and drop files to your "Box". One cool thing is that when you drag a file into it the URL is copied to your clipboard so you can just paste it say on xda to share. Has video capture with auto upload too.
Also, I'm not sure how well it works but I've read on other posts that you can stream your music with ES File manager from your "Box".
do you have to log in from the app or browser?
Didn't get my 50 gigs. Oh well this would help with ROM hosting.

Help: Photos/Video of my late mother deleted after system update

Hi there,
I am new to the forums but am wondering if anyone could help me in recovering recorded videos/photos.
My mom recently passed away from cancer and these video files are extremely important to me as it was her last words to me. Before unlocking and rooting my phone, I created a full backup through the Nexus Root toolkit program. However, in restoring the files, it only pushed back a fraction of the files I had on my phone.
Is there any way of restoring all my files or even just the photos and videos? I am completely distraught and I have tried all the data recovery programs for android but unfortunately none of the applications work as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus cannot mount an SD card.
If anyone could provide any input, it would be much appreciated.
My direct contact is: [email protected]
With sincerest regards,
Richard

That's rough. By chance did you have auto upload turned on? If so they should be present on your google account.
Do you still have the backup from the nexus toolkit? Can you explore it for the DCIM directory?

Google recuva. Downloads the program and run it through your device, assuming you haven't over written any files yet. It should recover a majority of the files. I can't count how many times it had saved me. Let us know what happened. Sorry to hear.

Auto back up to box

I wasn't sure where to post this so I hope this was the right place.
I took advantage of the free 50gb cloud storage from box and now I'm looking for an app that will do automatic backup of the phone (pictures, documents, ect..) straight to my box account. Something similar to google+ instant upload but to box.
Any ideas or apps that can do this?
Thanks in advance.

I will answer my own question for someone that is in the same boat. I did some googling and after a few different sites mentioning foldersync, I decided to give it a try. Works perfect and gives you many options. Also will sync to many different cloud services.
Currently I'm using the foldersync lite, but I might pay for the full soon.

sCloudStarter can't be uninstalled

Good Morning.
Since yesterday I've noticed, that an app called "sCloudStarter" was installed automatically into user apps.
I can't uninstall it, and there is also a process running.
I can't find any information about this in the internet.
Is here someone, who knows what this app is or does?
Antivirus does also nothing find when I scan my phone.
It's annoying, when apps are installed automatically without knowledge of the user.
Do you think it's harmless or is it a bad virus app?
I did nothing change in my system before.
I also made a full wipe, and after configuring my device with the new fresh system, this sCloudstarter was installed again.
Please, hopefully someone can help me or can give me an answer about this.
it's a Samsung system app related to S-cloud. This is like Google drive. You ha ave to be root to uninstall it.

Thanks for your answer.
I'm rooted, but when I uninstall it, it is back in the next second.
It's not possible to delete it.
But I'm wondering, why it was installed automatically without any message?
That's bad from Samsung.
Do This -
I was frustrated with this annoying problem for hours before I did this - download an uninstaller that can identify an app named "Samsung Account" - followed by a long decimal number. Run it and delete Samsung Account first, then SCloudStarter, and hopefully that will work for you as it did for me.
Yeah there was a update which installs this app like a user app.

Therefor I leave it as it is.
But it's annoying, when such apps, with NO information, are installed automatically.

No no.
It's just the Samsung app.
The Samsung push service installed an app.

Like the other post said, you can use an app called Titanium Backup to freeze apps, and delete them. This one should be no exception. Freezing apps would be recommended first, as you can then see how the phone reacts when you disable an app. You can always delete later, but I still would recommend just freezing. Even with a 16 GB device, you won't gain that much space by deleting these apps that who knows if you may need later.
That works

If your phone is rooted, there is an app called TitaniumBackup in the Play Store. TitaniumBackup can freeze apps and the frozen app no longer runs on your phone or shows up in your app drawer. TitaniumBackup is the first app that in my opinion needs to be installed on a rooted phone. It's the best app that I've ever paid for, followed closely by Root Explorer.
It's also a good idea that before deleting an app you should ALWAYS have TitaniumBackup backup the app first. This way if your phone starts to act really weird, you can go into TB and restore the app.
It looks noxious
I had a look at the permissions for this in its App Info area,
...
* Your Personal Information
add or modify calendar events and send emails to guests without owner's knowledge, modify your contacts, read calendar events plus confidential information, read call log, read your contacts, read your Web bookmarks and history, write call log, write web bookmarks and history
...
OMG! It astually lists "send emails to guests without owner's knowledge" like that's nothing to be alarmed about! In fact, most of what is listed there is setting off alarm bells to me.

There is an app titles Titanium Backup that you can use with root. (highly recomended btw). This lets you uninstall bloatware, freeze apps (basically hides them and keeps them from running but keeps them on the phone), backup apps and data so if you have to reinstall or switch phones you can restore them without having to set them up again. Freezing also lets you stop the app which makes you provision and pay extra to tether your phone so you can activate it without paying extra.
It is a must have app imho for rooted users and I highly recomend the pro version. (you can only freeze with pro)

I've had this issue as well, note 2 and 8 are supposed to sync the notes but it doesn't work well. Instead I get blank notes in one or the other and if I delete the blank then the good copy will disappear from the other device.
My solution was to ditch s note. I now use lecture notes along with drop sync to handle the actual cloud syncing. Works a treat, no more lost notes. Sort it out Samsung, small independent developers are doing a better job than you.
