I made for myself tiny deodex patch for KK 4.4.4 (.133/.118/.108). This patch is very similar to others, but I just want to share mine.
You should NOT lose any data and should works on locked bootloaders!
Patch works with:
14.4.A.0.133
14.4.A.0.118
14.4.A.0.108
Xperia Z1, should works with every Z1.. (C6902, C6903, C6906, C6943)
Instructions
DOWNLOAD the deodex patch!
Flash the zip on recovery.
Wipe dalvik cache.
Reboot to system.
Done!

If you don't want to have (useless) application from Vodafone etc. use my cleaner script to remove them.

This patch is made for actually ROMs and future update. You just don't need to worry about deodex!
NOTE: If you use this deodex patch on for example .108, your apps (for example Walkman) will be update to never version. This is why it fully safety on every firmware.

I uploaded bad flashable zip. But don't worry, Android doesn't use them.

Nope, no data loss. I even have disabled 20-30 of the apps that it deodexed.
Still make a back up, won't hurt. Every phone can be different sometimes

It's not metter. Both patch (dedicated or nondedicated) will works this same (just my patch include newer version some apks). Anyway, thanks you for feedback!

It will only update apps, not the libs. So you will have "partial" .133 firmware.

But .133 is all about the new radio. So that's not in there, there's no much fun. Sony apps are updated via updater anyway.

Exactly. This is why this patch works without any problems like dedicated.
If you use this patch on fresh .108 you will get update of Sony apps. You will get this updates via updater anyway if you won't use my patch

It will update to version from 133 + deodex.
If you have 108 (like me) with updated by Sony's app, you have updated apps too.

118 isnt rolled out yet. But i wrote on xda that 118 is branded vodafone but this isnt confirmed info

.118 is released on Z1 but Z1c need to wait a bit I guess. We don't have changelog from .118 and don't know is that any different yet.

Hi everyone, Today I got a notification of software update 14.4.A.0.108,
I'm in 14.3.A.0.757 deodexed, so I could installed 4k camera, and timeshift.
What are the major advantages of this update? (only I care here is if there is any camera improvements)
will I lose everything if I update?

4.4.4 is much snappier I've found although I updated from 681 to it. In regards to losing stuff I would advise a full clean wipe with every major update anyway as it it eliminates a lot of issues and helps to trouble shoot if and when you do have any issues.

Everything went ok,
I am wondering what the differences are in .118 version.

Flash the old kernel after flashing the 4.4.4 update then root it and then update the kernel back to the latest.
works perfect! really thanks man, update works fine the menu doesnt have that lag connection is better i still verifying battery long

any link to the old kernel? i've updated to 4.4.2 via OTA so otherwise i have to download the whole FTF

Install it and run towelroot apk
install and update su binarys
reboot

Since I tried, it isnt possible with easy rooting toolkit, you need to flash back .230 kernel > root it > flash, back the .283 kernel. you are done

Oh no, you need to have the stock ROM first (flash FTF first) then can flash the deodex zip

Instructions:

Pls ask the OP, he created this zip, or u can make urself using PRFCreator. Search the customized US version, this ftf is less bloated than others from my own experience.

How to flash the recovery.
I'm unable to flash the recovery.img apparently this partition does not exist. [fastboot flash recovery recovery.img] right? Everything else flashes after the wipe but not the recovery. Can someone help with this please, this is the same problem with all the roms. My bootloader is unlocked.

I have been using Emma for a long time but it never gives me an option for a new TA but it allows me to flash the kk ROM. Is there a manual way of updating my bootloader. My bootloader is already unlocked.

Hopefully, i made a img file who allows to flash the new TA. use Flashtool to flash and you should be able to flash a recovery after that .

It's just deodex, has nothing to do with DRM fix. That is the kernel part (DRM Fix).
Could I modify this Deodex for F5121 (Personal Use)?
