[POLL] Which style 360 will you get? - Moto 360

Finally looks like launch date is getting closer (not that I know if I'll be able to get one in the UK at launch yet)... got to start deciding which style to order...
Which option are you going to go for / which looks best?
Black / Silver watch
Leather / Metal strap

I'm going for the silver and metal strap. It just looks so damn perfect!
Skickat från min LG-D802 med Tapatalk 4

I'm going for the metal strap for sure but I haven't decided on the watch colour yet.
Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk

Silver... and the strap I'll try all sorts.. its been a while since I used a watch the only thing I remember about metal bands is that they love to painfully pull the hair out of my arm :-|

I'm going for Black metal but I hope the straps are interchnagable like on the Sony SW1/2.

Black metal.
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

Definitely a metal variant!

Black with leather strap but I'll switch out bands when needed . I've already bought a few for my pebble let's hop it's 22mm

Black and going to put a silicone or rubber strap on it, maybe an isofrane
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk

Damn, can't decide. I'm thinking all silver...

Beautiful Black
I am thinking black with metal band... But if the silver is really classy, I might be swayed. This watch needs to blend in with a business suit, so we shall see!

I'll start with the black with the leather strap as that seems the most practical for everyday use but I will pick up the metal band for going out.

Silver and silver metal band.
Sent from my LG-D851 using Tapatalk

Does metal strap exist?
Just realising that I don't think I've really seen any test / hands on pics of any devices with the metal strap - apart from the renders on the moto360 site.. do you think they'll definitely release it with one or it might cost more?

Here's some more info/speculation on what it will come with:

The metal band looks like it has some kind of adapter to facilitate the attachment to the watch. That has me worried. I already picked up a strapcode super engineer ii 22mm in black for the M360.

I'm really conflicted..
The Silver looks lovely looking at the face or in renders:

But looks like a butt ugly silver lump when looking on edge:

I had initially thought i'd go Silver... but now I suspect I'm going to go Black...

So it is going to be $50 more for the metal strap - 299 vs 249... That lifts it a little out of my comfort price band!

I'm going black with leather. I like once the black is off how it looks. Big solid black circle.

From Moto website - http://www.motorola.co.uk/Moto-360/moto-360-gb.html#specs-moto-360-gb - there isn't a metal case... [ EDIT] - isn't a metal strap

(yet another)Carbon Fiber Battery Cover

Seeing there are several threads about people laying down black carbon fiber look vinyl on their phones, here's one done in silver. I got ripped off on eBay when I thought the listing was for genuine 3M Di-Noc, but the results turned out decent enough to share. Major problem with the cheap vinyl is that it stretches out way too easily and it melts at a lower temperature than the quality film.

Looks pretty sweet! Is that stuff adhesive, or do you have to use some sort of glue?
Yes, it is adhesive backed. Like I said I got the off brand stuff, the 3M branded Di-Noc works much better. There are numerous clips on youtube about the stuff and how to use it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL0nOpvkTb4 <=== link to video showing install on a BMW steering wheel.
Does it come in black? White is too girly for me.

I've got black 3M textured Carbon, but I think the stuff would be way too thick to work on the backing. I'll try it though, have a ton left from my computer.
The 3M branded film works great on the back. You just have to trim it right at the edges of the cover instead of folding over the underside a bit. That pic turned out looking white? It is silver. They have 500! other colors. I dont know about the other 500 varieties but the carbon fiber look films are actually textured and have a good grip to them.
I went ahead and put the fiber on my backplate.... It looks awesome, but the lip is killing me....
Edit: The fiber was pretty thick, so an idea struck me. I stuck it on the back directly, instead of on the cover. Fits great, feels great. Might add another layer to get rid of some of the 'give' between components.
Ridges are a whole heck of a lot more visible in photos, but aren't they always?
Phone is an extra mm thinner, and a bit lighter too. In addition, the battery no longer falls out in those big drops

Review: Skinplayer aluminize aluminium frame with screen protector

Just a simple review of the skinplayer aluminize aluminium frame for the SGS3.
Its made in korea and available in 11 colours, the frame comes standard with a aluminium home button, 1 mirror screen protector, 1 gloss clear screen protector, vinyl button for the menu and return button, skin for the battery lid and other accessories to help apply the frame and protector.
The cut out for the frame is very precise and fits right to the edge of the phone the silver version has the aluminium finish, but is covered with a coated to have a smooth finish, the frame has adhesive to stick to the screen of the phone and can be removed easily.
As in the photo's you can see with the frame on I can still use the tridea bumper, mercury jelly TPU case and the aeonaz S-contact case.
the screen protector is applied after the frame, and you can choose from clear or mirror finish.
The home button is also precisely cut, but the two other button is a let down, they used vinyl instead which doesn't look good, instead I used the mirror screen protector and did some cutout which looks better, you can see them on the photo's with the green tridea bumper.
Nice review, but in my oppinion this is sexual harrasment for your phone.

Yeah the shape of the button cutouts is not working for me.... Aluminum either but if it were different colors with better shaped cutouts then it'd be on my must have list

It looks great on its own, but putting it on the phone makes an otherwise great looking device look like a chinese toy.

Rugged Case: Anyone willing to try the iGadgitz Tyre Tread Case? Amazon.com $2.99

I know a lot of people here like their rugged style cases. I love minimalism so it's a little too big for me, but this one just popped up and might interest some people. There are no reviews yet, so XDA might need a guinea pig to be first to test it out.
It's a silicone case, so I figure it's squishy. I do like the tyre tread design. And with the F1 2014 season starting up this weekend, what car guy/gal wouldn't want to walk around with a tyre stuck against their face? Haha

The fact that the case wraps around the top and bottom of the bezel ruins it for me :| i rely on the notification LED too much. But I absolutey love the design of the case on the back!!!
I think they needed a big lip over the top, sides, and bottom because it's silicone. It's the only way to hold the case on securely with a soft, stretchy material. If it was TPU it wouldn't be needed.
With it being silicone, it would probably be easy to punch a hole/notch manually with a paper hole puncher; if you really wanted the notification light exposed.
I just love those tyre treads though.

I can't say much for the case being on the nexus 5, but I know for a fact it's no good on my iPod touch, especially when you're taking it out of your pocket, it flops around. It is good for drops though, I'll give it that

I have one of these on all my devices..very user friendly, can flip around and use the device while in the beltclip..very slim and light weight, and great protection..very easy to clip into your pocket, slide device out and use without the clip..or use device in the clip, propt in landscape or portrait mode, for watching movies also..I have had the Krakens and all those fancy / expensive cases..but I finally found my true love for a case..unless you work in construction, or heavy duty..this case is the perfect choice..

Is it the silicone that is green or the hard plastic?
Turned out that the pink is only paint on white plastic
i'll add a few more pics with case ageing ...
Same model of case only imagine the black soft silicone like green

Question: Metal steel bands and back of watch

I want to ask the community if anyone has seen any issues with the metal band on and the back of the watch. I'm concern because the band is almost stressing the back side of watch when the band is pushed down or simply wearing.

Yep. I removed my metal band for exactly this reason. Put back the leather strap. But I'm still concerned.
If you can get a closeup side picture of the curved lip hitting the band its even scarier. The edge is quite thick.
We need someone (expert) with Dremel to cut off the curved lips and polish a straight edge on both sides.
Good luck volunteers....

Yes! I Don't want to ruin the beautiful watch. Now I wonder how the official Moto 360 metal bands are design.
No problem here. Because of the little tab rather than the full end link. Not using the pebble steel band. Just another band I am not using.

Not that one. Super Engineer yes, Cerberus has a removable end link. Forgot to mention that I had to scratch out the notches down in the watch, which may void the warranty, in order to make it fit.
