Force tabs on settings - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, on my G3 D855 10g every time I start the settings it opens as list mode and not in tab mode. How do I force the tabs mode?

I'm assuming you changed the setting in the menu button in the upper right corner from List View to Tab View? That's how I got it to stick.

I know this is a somewhat old thread, but I have the exact same issue with my Verizon G3.
Was a solution ever found for this problem?

[Q] One M9 Scrolling Bug?

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone could please check their phone and see if you're getting the same behaviour I am.
1. In the Settings > Sound & Notification menu (or any Settings menu).
2. Set scroll position to top of page (should be there by default).
3. Touch screen and try to scroll UP (move finger down). You wont be able to because you are already at the top of the list.
4. Without releasing finger, now try to scroll DOWN (move finger up). This seems strange, but I cannot scroll down after having 'bottomed out' by trying to scroll up.
Same thing applies in reverse (at bottom of scrolling menu).
Is anyone else seeing this behaviour?
Is this normal? I don't recall my M7 (KitKat) doing this.
Looking forward to hearing back.

it's normal, just release your finger and you can go the other way
Ok, thanks. I'll test it on another phone. I thought I was nuts.
This isn't normal, in my case. Upon scrolling to top & releasing, it simply 'springs back' to the middle of the page rendering other settings inaccessible. This is a relatively new phenomenon & I can't be sure during what time frame it started because I've not attempted to enter the settings menu for some time, as I had it's configuration largely settled.

Multi window and Guest mode missing !

As title says. I couldnt find this 2 on US Tmobile version. Anybody knows where ?
Dual window is accessed by hitting the square soft key that opens your currently open apps...at the bottom theres a button for dual window.
Dont remember offhand where guest mode is...I dont use it, but remember seeing it somewhere heh

Lg did away with their guest mode and adopted the new lollipop user mode. Problem is the 811 didn't get it. We didn't get it on the G3 5.0 update either, although they kept Lg guest mode on there. Kinda sucks I was looking forward to it. Dual window has to be turned on in settings-general then can be accessed through recents or by adding the button in the home touch buttons setting.

I don't know what "set as" means when using smart select?

What's the "set as" function do in smart select? Please check out the screenshot

Are you referring to the always on display that comes up when the screen is turned off? If so then I hit that button plenty of times and I don't see the thing that I highlighted come up as the background for my always on display.
Hmm that's weird I just tried it on mine and it works fine. After selecting an area it doesn't pop up the Always On display and let you edit it with the area you selected earlier?

Your Phone "Phone Screen" option missing on PC

Just got my Note 10+ 2 days ago. I'm back to xda forum and note series after Note 2 ( i even still have Note 2 as my profile phone). Done setup my phone as I wanted. However, I've read there was option for Microsoft's native screen mirroring to PC through "Your Phone" app, but I didn't have that. I've checked, my PC meet all the requirements including the Bluetooth Low Energy Peripheral Role. Am I missing something or something I did it wrong?
This app came installed on my phone, but it is hidden from the app drawer. I haven't tried to use it yet.

It's an app on your PC. Try searching for it in Microsot Store.

Yup, already installed both on my PC and phone. The issue is the option for screen mirroring is missing.

Just to make sure... pull down notification shade, pull down again to expose the full panel of toggles. Open the hamburger menu, then Button Order. Confirm that Link To Windows is not in either button panel or the New Buttons panel. Make sure to scroll both to expose any additional pages.

From what OP replied with earlier, he has already linked his phone with his PC. He's just missing the Screen Mirror option which should be under the Phone, Messages, and Notifications menus. I guess you missed the attached photo as i did?

Yup, it is connected. In fact this screenshot was taken from sync the Your Phone app to my PC.
Nvm, I've figured it might be something wrong with my main PC (Laptop) Your Phone app, since it works fine on my Microsoft Surface Go. Thank you guys for your input.

If your PC is not showing the same output, then i think your OS is outdated. Try updating to 1903. That'a the only reason i can think of at the moment. If it already is then i'm out ideas.

Try to turn on Auto-rotate in Quick settings or go to settings>display and find it there.

Found a simple way to check if auto rotate screen is activated.
Swipe down from top of screen.
On my Samsung Galaxy A50 it's the 4th icon from the left. Mine was not activated for some reason.
I pressed icon to activate.
Problem now solved.
This is just one way of changing setting, and to me the easiest.

Swiping down the screen is called quick settings or qs in short
Did not know that "quick view" was referring to pulling down from the top of screen. I found it in the display by chance. So in the end my question was answered several times. I thank all who responded so quickly. Cheers ...Peter
