The bootlaoder can't be unlocked yet so no, there is no way you can put these or any AOSP ROMs on the G3.

I don't agree, with a 2nd init hack it can be done. For some sony devices with locked bootloader it was used.

Nope afaik

What about now?
The bootloader is already unlocked!!

waiting for cyanogen! it could be one of the best devices for it on the market

Bump! is available which is a bootloader work around, not an actual unlock. And there is a developer who is busy building a bunch of AOSP ROMs for the LG G3. Paranoid Android seams to be the closest to being finished.

Hi everybody.
How can we root Lollipop on G3 and install something like Xposed or something like that?
Thanks you.

1.Xposed woun’t work for now on L maybe later...
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/rovo89-speaks-up-regarding-art-and-android-l-support/
2.you can try the new L here this after bump you device (Costum rom with old bootloder that can enable you to downgreat back to 4.4.2)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-lollipop-rooted-rom-skin1980-t2936022
I still don't konw for sure if root & bump works on L rom stock and if we can downgreat back to 4.4.2 safely for bump & root with out brick ,
some of them says yes with TOT/KMZ some syas otherwise ...
If we can now ? maybe LG will block it in other updates soon...we don't and can't know until it arrive !
Xposed wont work on lollipop with an major update. As for root check the flashable lollipop update
Well considering that Xposed needs Dalvik and Lollipop is ART only... I don't think that's going to happen. Most definitely do not take an OTA to Lollipop as there is some big changes in security that may make it harder to root and or bump.

Xposed doesn't work on android 5.0 and it might never work, it is incompatible with ART.
If you are on a 5.0 build because you flashed the KDZ then you are out of luck, there is no way to root it (at least not yet).

Also, although @autoprime has confirmed the release of Android L for the D855 does not implement anti-rollback, this does not mean that other variants will not implement something to keep us from going back to previous software versions, then you may be stuck with Android L but no root or TWRP permanently

So For now we can ,but with other new Ver. of L-5.0 we don't know
If you want root, DO NOT update to the stock 5.0.
Simple as that. No one knows how hard it will be to root, when it will be rooted, or even if it will ever be rooted. Wait for the devs to deliver a version that support root.

Not sure what you're saying, but I haven't seen a lollipop ROM for the LS990 yet.

CM13 Unofficial (QnA) and ROM link included D851

So i noticed that an unofficial cm13 has popped up on ahf....
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982086989533
I dont know the person who uploaded it and doesnt appear they have a ton of widely downloaded files...
I attempted to flash it using both open gapps and no gapps and it did boot into CM boot screen... BUT stopped working after "android is upgrading"....
Anyone gotten this to work?
I had the same results last night....
I don't know if you saw this post this morning (I know its not our variant, but had similar symptoms...)

The original ROM dev has stated that "he has confirmation that d850, d852, vs985 and d855 boot"
but, D851 specifically is not booting as yet on the two ROM versions (20151109, 20151110) available to the public.

I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing a D851 version there. Thread closed by Mod on 9/17 and,
the only test versions showing up are for D850, D855 & D858HK, that too from way back in mid-Sept.
Tried to flash this as a secondary in multirom. Didn't expect much and got less. ?
Forgot the error but something about unknown or incompatible contents in /system or some such.
Just thought I'd try. ?
LG G3 D851, CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM, Tapatalk 4.9.5
Guys! Check the main g3 development page, seems like today xenonhd has added a 6.0 build for d851! Downloading now to test
Yeah that doesn't boot either....

Downgrade H815 (Taiwan Version) from MM TO LP?

Well, I thought buying this phone would end my terrible relationship with ATT's Note 4 for good... Hell it's even an H815 for christ sakes....
But it seems like it can't be rooted on MM due its bootloader being locked :/
Yes, I did try using the official unlock tool but, as some of you know it doesn't work for the Taiwan version (Just my luck).
However, I looked around and saw that the Lollipop version can have root/twrp installed WITHOUT unlocking the bootloader.
In conclusion, my question is............. will I be able to downgrade from MM to Lollipop?

From what I know the H815 model can be unlocked. But I think it's only the International one. There's an unofficial unlock in the works, just look around on the forums, haven't been that interested 'cause I'm rocking an International model

Lollipop, or LP, is version 5.1. Just look at the KDZ files that are Android 5.1

New G4 owner, question on Root

HI, I have a H815P (on Nougat) got it for the great camera, and I know the bootloader cannot be unlocked but am I right to assume also that I therefore cannot root or flash any custom ROMs? thanks
I'm a recent H815P owner too and after searching for a few days I've come to the conclusion that it is impossible. That sucks for someone like me coming from a no-limits Galaxy S3.

Refer to the following thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-100-root-success-directives-root-t3180586
Note: Your ability to downgrade to 5.1 with LGUP-NEW will depend on the anti-rollback version of your current kdz ... google it on how to find out or start by clicking on steadfasterX's signature in any of his threads - he has listed all currently known in one of his threads.

Yeah but nothing is officially supported and roms require android 9. Once a phone gets updated to android 9 it loses fastboot.
There isnt a dev with ulm.. i have stopped any development myself since i dont have a computer to compile or even work with via ssh for remote
