Hii guys..
I am new to this forum.
I need to root my HTC DESIRE HD (gingerbread), with s/w number 2.37.720.3.
But I have learnt from many other sites and other threads in this forum that
Desire HD must be downgraded first.
There are ways to downgrade for s/w number 2.36.XX.X, but couldn't find any for 2.37.
Hope some one kind enough could help me out.

I am afraid you are stuck without root my friend, you cannot temp root 2.37 with gingerbreak and hence downgrade is impossible at present. I guess you will have to wait for HTC to open their bootloaders and then flash a custom rom with root in it.
When HTC will open DHD bootloader... only time will tell.

hmm that's not a pleasant news...If I knew that I'd never go for gingerbread update. I do get htc sense error frequently. That's really annoying. so any way I'm positive that the xda pro will come up with solution.

I would love to root my DHD but I have no space memory cards or anything and I am a bit of a dumb blonde too but I guess I will just have to leave it with what I got
Go get yourself a SD card and use the method posted above

Not sure what you mean but if you want to DOWNGRADE and root your device just follow these guides and you should be fine:
1. Downgrade

First check your Rom version...!!!!
If it's upgraded you should first Downgrade your phone to version 1.32...!!!
It's not so hard then you can root it...!!! Just check your version first....!!!!

it's a very easy and simply steps, there are a few tools to help u root, u don't even need to understand any theory, just "press button", however there always a risk and that's why few people would do it for u.
if u want, just search "one key root or one key radio-off"

No, and i think noone will now bother with unlocking wfs since bootloader is unlocked, roms can be flashed... thats what developers wanted...
try htcdev bootunlocker
you can then root your mobile
change rom
and everything
have s-on
stilll i have cwm , cm7.2 and having fun ..
go to htc dev go to bootloader and follow the simple instructions and you will have your device unlocked

Hey
There is no buzzdowngrade.zip ( 25mb ) file available there to download so thats why people are struggling.
Can u upload it somewhere like 4shared if you have it. I dont have it. 4shared is better than mediafire in a sense that there is a very less chance of file removal.

hi there i really hope someone can give me the instruction clearly and the downloads i have a htc wildfire on 01.01.002 and want to get angry birds on my phone ect so i have to upadate the software but i have to downgrade first apparntly. so here goes the problem is the instructions arent clear enough and the downloads dont work they just download stupid things and it doesnt work properly they arnet what im suposed to be downloading so i dont know what im doing.
SO PLEASE COULD SOMEONE ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME THROUGH THIS AS I HAVE POSTED THINGS AND NO ONE IS CONTACTING ME IM READY JUST TO THROW THIS PHONE IN THE BIN AS IM GETTING VERY STRESSED WITH IT ALL

i couldn't find a partition for HTC 816G here in xda developers forum.
anyway i got my mom a new phone realized that HTC 816G is completely different from HTC 816.
it's my first time dealing with flashing/rooting HTC - used to samsung only - so any tips needed to know ? what apps should i use , customs .. etc.
if anyone can provide me with a tutorial for flashing.
can i flash cm12 of HTC 816 on the 816G or not ?
i have a problem with it , low memory and low storage - that's why i need to move apps2SD- needs rooting i guess.

I have also got HTC Desire 816G , for adding any custom roms u need to root it first.
Use iroot for pc to Root ur device.
Also note that cm12 is not available for htc 816g and do NOT use cm12 for HTC 816 .
Even I have problems with low internal memory so if anyone can us then it would be great .

about iroot , is it safe to use ?? i read many posts saying it's a spam.

No it's not a spam i have used it to root my 816G or u can use kingo root both were working fine.

tried to use iroot and kingo root but failed on HTC 816G and succeed on samsung s3 ! :/
