UPDATED 12/15 [ROM][P900][P900UEU1BNK1] Original Stock and Debloated Stock Variants - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Android Development

Original Stock and Debloated Stock Variants for the Samsung Note 12.2 Pro Wi-Fi Version

These roms are simple flashable zips that you can flash from your custom boot manager. It does not use an aroma installer. Instead I made two versions. This should avoid almost all the problems people were having because there are not modifying options in the installer before running it. It is based on the latest software out officially for this model: P900UEU1BNK1
Device and Firmware Info:
Model: SM-P900
Model name: GALAXY NotePRO 12.2 Wi-Fi
Country: Cellular south
Version: Android 4.4.2

Product Code: XAR

YOU NEED TO HAVE A CUSTOM BOOT LOADER. i.e. you will need to have tripped your knox counter. There is no way for the P900 currently to have a custom bootloader and not trip knox to 0x01. Some of the non-wifi variants using the snapdragon setup can do this with TowerlRoot. We cannot
Custom Bootloader:
I use TWRP version 2.8.0 - INSTALL WITH ODIN NOT THE MANAGER.
It can be found here: Download TWRP
Once you have installed the custom bootloader you can now load roms and make and restore backups for your device. The first thing you should do at this point is boot into TWRP and immediately MAKE A FULL SYSTEM BACKUP. First, before anything else. Do this to be safe.
Next you need to choose which version you of the rom you want to flash. Both of these were built mostly from ArchiKitchen and then I did some modifying after but I need to thank JustArchi for making this easier to put together for you guys, take a look at it here. Most will probably go for the debloated version, but some people like an untouched setup.
Steps to Install:
1. Copy this version onto your device, I use my SDcard.
2. In TWRP, go to wipe, advanced wipe and check Cache, Dalvik, Data and then wipe. This seems like it takes a good 5 minutes so don’t think it’s locked up. Let it do it’s thing.
3. Go to Install, select the flashable zip. Flash.
4. You can reboot the system at this point.
5. Startup should bring you to the 4 dots google splash screen. First load takes a few minutes let it do its thing.
6. Setup your device, done. Enjoy.
Near Stock Untouched Version:

This version has simply been Rooted, Zipaligned, Deodexed, Added Init.d Support, Busybox Support, Knox has been removed, and supports custom Boot Animations. This is the closest you can get to how the device comes new. The near stock untouched version can be found here:

Your warranty is most likely already void if you have completed the steps to actually flash this ROM, I am not responsible for anything you do with your own device, if you can't follow directions or read that is not my problem. Follow Directions as they are listed and you should be fine. Knowing all this you do this AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Things that will make your tablet even better:
The Xposed Framework
The Xposed Framework is a custom framework using a hook that works on top of stock android systems that have root access. It is made by Rovo89 and the general thread can be read about here: Click Me!.
The Xposed Framework uses components called modules, which can be loaded on the device in various combinations to achieve many of the functions that used to only be provided by fully customized roms. I use several on my device and will list each below.
Recommended Xposed Framework Modules:
Activity Force New Task
App Settings
Boot Manager
Burnt Toast
Cool Tool
CrappaLinks
Disable Clear Dialogues Default
Disable Batter Full Alert
DitheredHoloBackground
KitKat SD Card Full Access
Remove USB Storage Warning
Samsung Keyboard Short Delay

In case I need more room for something??
Oh I know, one thing. I'll volunteer to do this each time we get a new android version for our tablet. Time permitting.
Whats next?
1. If enough people ask for an app added back in I'll put it back in.
2. I'm experimenting with a version that has the Xposed framework and my setup cooked into the rom.
3. I'm also experimenting with some manual theming and tweaks to add into it, but I don't want to go crazy with it.

Awesome! Thanks for this!
Question: How does one go about developing these variants? Is it a matter of customizing an install through the tablet itself and then making an image of it or is development done completely offline on computer?
I'm curious because I'd like to experiment with making a debloated ROM myself just to play around with.
Thanks!

yay double post

I do it on a computer completely. That way nothing from my device is taken personally like info etc. Plus it's cleaner. Main thing is you need Linux first and foremost or at least a vm setup running linux. I use ubuntu/kubuntu. That is how the image, kernel etc is compiled and smushed together. I do not think there is a possible way to build a linux kernel in windows.(?) The app removal/freezing is one of two ways. One I have a txt file with the apps names and/or dirs that I can tweak as needed and it will just rm them as it goes through the list. The other way is i go into the system/app folder before building it and modify the apks directly. This is how I do themeing changes, which I may or may not do for the note. For freezing I add .bak to them so they are not loaded.
While doing this I got our device added to the archikitchen database, so you no longer will need to manually enter the boot sector. It should autodetect the blk upon startup.

Wow, I'd love to learn how to do this so that I can tinker with making a slimmer touchwiz rom. Guess I got my work cut out for me on doing research.

Thank you!

Thanks man, this is great!

Thank you SO very much ! I'm downloading the debloated version now. You rule !
Update: I'm up and running on the tweaked ROM ! I wanted to share a few things my 900 did so others will know...
... During the Dalvic cache wipe, the device suddenly rebooted! I got to the Samsung splash and it hung. I rebooted into twrp, then did the other three wipes first and waited for the 'successful' notification. Once I saw that, I rewiped the dalvic cache w/o problems and continued.
... during the actual flashing of the ROM, I expected the 5 minutes or so load time indicated by the instructions. Mine was closer to two minutes and it rebooted. The status bar had barely crept into the blue... It totally freaked me out, but I let it ride and soon was looking at the Google 4 dots screen. that lasted maybe 2 more minutes and I was up and running. So, don't panic if it happens to you too
... I saw you mention Xposed; for what it's worth I pretty much always load boot manager and App Opps; they are great! Occasionally I'll go for xPrivacy too, but haven't so far. I would suggest looking into AdAway as well ( an app, not a module )
thanks again for making this ROM!

Up and running here also! All went smooth. Nice fast rom. Looking for reboot menu but using same Samsung default color scheme!

Man!! Thanks so much! I cant wait for work to be over so I can get this cooking!!

I'm a little confused with how to get into TWRP. I downloaded the correct img and installed TWRP manager.. went thru the steps with busybox etc.. but when I reboot into recovery..
I get the following:
Android system recovery <3e>
KOT49H........... etc...
Reboot (which reboots back in normal tablet)
Apply update from ADB
Apply update from EXT storage
Wipe Data/Fac Reset
Wipe Cache
Apply update from cache
on the bottom of screen
#manual mode #
Apply Multi CSC
Applied the CSC-code : XAR
Sucessfully applied multi-CSC.
Until I know what to do, I just rebooted back into the normal factory os I been using.
I been using TWRP on other devices so I know something is going on here.. Please let me know what to do next.
Thanks!

I rooted using odin. The booted back into download and again used odin for twrp. Did my backup. Then wiped and installed the .zip. rooted and working.

Ok, thanks.. I used odin to root when I first rooted. But I didn't think we needed to use odin to load twrp but I guess I was wrong.

I just think for me it is easy. I saw three different ways to install twrp and I find Odin better then adb

Odin definitely odin. What you described is the manager not correctly installing twrp. I never use the manager for anything. Always odin. Simpler.
edit: actually going to add that to the first post.

Check out Flashify, it worked very well. I had downloaded the img ahead of time but it found the correct one anyhow..
regardless... It's now 7 hours later after flashing and loading my stuff back. 0% battery drain where before I had around 1-4% and nearly everything was greenified.
Thanks so much ...
PS. I hope we start seeing a bunch of these now that this is proven that it will work!

I get it setup and all is working. Use twrp to get a backup. Then after each reboot it will not remember my home WiFi password. Looking online now for solution
Installed backup and no longer have the problem. I did have to install the sdfix app because I could not get my mail app to export settings.

That's weird, I didn't have that problem, only issue was on first boot, Rom Tool Box wouldn't load, but after restarting, its been fine. No issue with Wifi here

Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660M - ArpegGioMod ROM

(Avis aux intéressés, j'ai parti une discussion en français sur Frandroid.)
Hello everyone,
Here's my ArpegGioMod ROM, for the Galaxy Gio GT-S5660M. Current (and final) version is 0.9
(ArpegGioMod has had over 1500 downloads! Thanks!)
Features:
Rooted
Deodexed apps and framework. (Optional)
Working FM radio (remember, your headphones are the antenna!)
No power on sound.
Restored support for the normal Android bootanimation.zip format. Right now it's just running the "base" animation (with the green Android text). I'm open to suggestions/logos/proposals!
CRT screen off animation re-enabled, you do need to turn back animations on in the settings to see it.
ADW Launcher (I just used the "standalone" version and placed it in /system/app/, not the cleanest way, but it works, and leaves you the choice between that and Touchwiz Launcher)
Removed all Bell software, as well as some Samsung apps.
New in 0.6
Added options to the power button menu: Reboot (Normal), Reboot Recovery Mode and Reboot to Download Mode.
Car mode.
New in 0.7
Phone will not relock itself to Bell after doing a factory reset without a SIM card in the phone.
Changed the default browser homepage to Google instead of Bell's.
New in 0.8
Phone will not relock itself to Bell after doing a factory reset without a SIM card in the phone. (Turns out I mixed up some files and uploaded a version with Bell apps left in the CSC folder, along with the unmodified customer.xml. Not an issue, until someone did a factory reset.)
Unsecure kernel. So now, adb remount and push work. adb shell is permanently root.
New in 0.9
CWM installation instead of Odin
Using Phiexz's customized stock ROM kernel, with support for both ext4 and RFS partitions. The kernel also includes different wifi drivers, and they work for me!
Updated superuser apps (3.0.7) and binaries (3.0.3.2). The upgrade of su from 3.0.3 to 3.0.3.2 seems to have fixed whatever caused the crashes.
Reodexed, this seems to provide better performance.
Removed the annoying "Full charge" notification.
Enabled native SIP functionality. (Untested.)
Removed the "Android Tips" widget.
Added the "Roboto" FlipFont apk, found on XDA.
No-frills CPU Control 1.20
Google Application updates:
Android Market 3.4.4
Gmail 2.3.5.2
Google Maps 6.3.0
Google Search 1.3.3.247963
Street View 1.7.1.0
Voice Search 2.1.4
YouTube 2.3.4
To do:
Implement BLN by patching /system/framework/services.jar
Things I will not do. (Or at least, not without significant assistance from those requesting it.)
Additional languages.
Files required to install 0.9:
Galaxy Gio ext4 converter
Backup RFS User Data (Optional)
Restore User Data to ext4 (Optional)
ROM Zip file: ArpegGioMod 0.9 MD5 hash: 010DA7C4542537443D2DD2E9BDBAFC43
Re-odex script (Optional)
Short Version 0.9 Installation instructions:
If you're upgrading from a stock ROM or ArpegGioMod 0.8: Backup User Data Script
(You'll probably want to delete the two tar.gz files remaining on your SD card afterwards.)
As required: format from RFS to ext4.
If you're upgrading from a stock ROM or ArpegGioMod 0.8: Restore User Data Script
Flash ROM zip
Re-odex as required
Detailed Version 0.9 Installation instructions:
(Or, the "this is my first time trying this out and frankly I'm a little overwhelmed with information" version.)
I'm going to start this one with a brand new, freshly out of the box Gio. I will however assume that you already have a working Odin and Android SDK install. Plenty of tutorials out there for both. (See links below for the correct Odin version.)
Copy the zip files to your MicroSD card.
Reboot your phone in Download Mode. (Hold Volume Down + Home + Power. There will be a pink warning screen. Press Volume Up.)
Flash ClockWorkMod Recovery with Odin.
Reboot the phone into Recovery Mode. (adb reboot recovery, or Home + Power)
"install zip from sdcard"
"choose zip from sdcard"
Install the ext4 converter zip.
Install the ROM zip.
Install the Re-odex script zip.
Reboot
Optional: adb shell, then dd if=/dev/block/bml5 of=/sdcard/bml5 bs=4096 to get your unlock code as per Tweakradje's unlock tutorial.
Enjoy!
Version 0.8 Installation instructions:
Un7zip and flash with Odin.
I strongly suggest you do a factory reflash and reset if you're flashing from something other than stock or ArpegGioMod.
Version 0.8: http://www.mediafire.com/?nxp0ce21909c676 7-Zip file MD5 hash: 6CEE73812AF9D30189A5F808CE0A7DEA

Just installed ArpegGio on my Virgin Mobile 5660M and it seems to be working great. 3G wifi and FM are working, plus I am glad to be rid of a bunch of carrier garbage apps. Thanks Darkshado I can't wait to see a2sd in there. Could I install it the manual way on this FW?
OT:
Thanks too Darkshado for all your tips for 5660M owners. I got mine 3 days ago, rooted and unlocked on day 2, flashed your FW on day 3. Reminds me of my days making custom OS for my blackberry

If you mean by modifying your boot.img ramdisk, yes. That's what I've been unable to do. I suspect an outdated/incompatible mkbootimg binary, and can't download the source make a new one as of writing this since kernel.org is still down.
If you're feeling adventurous, you could also try flashing an Euro 5660 boot.img. But I can't guarantee there won't be other issues.

You're welcome.
Hi, This is going to be my first flash for my S5660M. I've a small question for it. What mode should I choose in ODIN? Do I need to care about the ops file?
Sorry for my newbie question. Thank you.
You have to rebuild kernel with ext support. To create system.rfs or other *.rfs you have to type in console
Code:
mkfs.ext4 -O ^huge_file system.rfs
or it won`t boot. Of course you need modify initscripts. You can change from rfs to ext4 and it should work.
My problem is that due to the troubles at kernel.org I haven't been able to download the AOSP source yet.
I already suspected it wouldn't work with the stock kernel boot.img before trying.
For the conversion, I used a modified Galaxy Tab ext4 conversion update with the mkfs binaries included. That worked like a charm, CWM mounted the partitions, no questions asked.
I'll have to wait until an official AOSP repo comes back online to take this further.
Goodbye,
Darkshado

Hi
Just installed your rom this sunday... It work nice and no problem!
Was wondering, is the factory reset from the cwm is better than the one within the phone app? And or is the same?
And keep up the good work it is really appreciated
Thx Dark!

Nice job, very nice.
Is it duable to create that option in a aditional zipfile.
That you can flash it in recoverymode with a other rom????
You would make me very happy with that.
You have to modify framework-res.apk framework.jar and android.policy.jar for this to work, and it requires editing Smali code.
I did it by loosely following guides meant for the I9000 found here.
You could always push those files from my ROM to give it a try like that, but I wouldn't count on the framework from the 5660M to be fully compatible with the 5660 (which I understand you have from some of your other posts).
Question: has anyone else managed to re-Sim-lock their phone?
It's happened to me inadvertently, twice. Not knowing why on Earth the phone did this, I decided to get to the bottom of things.
The unlock code from bml5 still works, but I find this annoying to say the least.
I found some strings in the CSC files (customer.xml to be exact) that seemed to tell the phone what network to lock itself to.
I managed to make the phone relock itself by going into recovery, wiping user data, and rebooting the phone without a SIM card in. Checking lock status with *#7465625# shows Network Lock [ON]
I turned off the phone, put a foreign SIM back in, unlocked the phone again, and re-wiped user data, leaving the non-Bell SIM in for the first boot. No relock.
I relocked the phone as above. Rebooted into recovery and pushed modified customer.xml files, without the network lock strings, to my /system/csc/ and /system/csc/BMC/system/csc/ directories. No relock!
Those modified CSC files are going to be included in ArpegGioMod from now on.
Goodbye,
Darkshado

theboo23, Amadeus01: Practically all of my ROM work has been done under Windows so far!
You need:
Java JDK
Android SDK
apktool
Cygwin
A hex editor (I've used Frhed so far)
Notepad++ (Free, open source, tons of features: syntax highlighting and Unix line ending support to name a few)
(Optional) A program that can open FAT format image files such as MagicISO, to extract files from RFS partition images.
(Optional) xUltimate, to simplify deodexing a great deal.
(Optional) 7-Zip
I have installed Ubuntu (on an external USB drive with Wubi and Grub4DOS) to attempt boot.img and kernel modifications, and to build from AOSP/CyanogenMod source.
However, kernel.org, which hosts AOSP repositories, is still down almost three weeks after having been hacked. So those parts of my project have been stalled in the meantime as I hadn't downloaded the source beforehand.
theboo23: There have been multiple reports of deodexing increasing performance, that might explain the points increase on the benchmark. To be frank, I don't bother with them unless I have something really specific to test.

By "from now on" I suppose you mean ver 0.7 included which is also on the changelog for it. However, it's exaclty after I flashed 0.7 (from 0.6 and stock before that) that my phone re-locked again and I had to use the unlock code (which I retreived while ago using bml5 method and still keep). I wiped before flashing 0.6 on top of stock, but did now wipe before flashing 0.7 on top of 0.6.
By the way, I knew already that at one point I will need my unlock code again. Having unlocked 6 or 7 5660Ms in the last week I have noticed that, once unlocked for a network (say, Fido) and you put a different SIM (Chatr), it gets locked again! Not only that, if you put the Fido SIM back, it is still locked. You have to enter the unlock code again, and luckily it's always the same. So, I resorted to writing down the code on the back of the phone under the back plate for further reference
And a couple of questions: your ROM has only one file/partition in it - system.rfs - and apparently this is the only thing that it replaces, everything else remains stock. One other custom ROM available on this site contains two files in the .tar - system.rfs and boot.img.
Q1: will it be safe to flash that other ROM on a 5660M having in mind it only replaces those two files/partitions? I know you already answered this before, just being extra cautious
Q2: if I want to return to ArpegGioMod after that, how do I proceed? Where do I get the boot.img from? Posible answer here: I have made a full backup via CWM of the stock ROM. It contains boot.img. Can I insert it in your .tar and flash and expect to get the same as flashing ArpegGioMod directly on stock?
Q3: if I get the system.img (renamed to system.frs) and boot.img from the SWM backup, put them in a .tar and flash, will that give me stock phone?

I tried a couple more wipes and SIM swaps (T-Mobile USA, Koodo and Telna) with no relock occurring, so I hate to say, but I'm a bit stumped if there's something else than the CSC files causing this.

I take it you work at a Rogers/Fido kiosk or store right? You're probably going to get more data on this than I ever will. I too wrote my code in the battery door just in case after it relocked a second time.

Should be safe, if the boot.img is meant for the Euro 5660, you could encounter some bugs. I haven't tested those boot partitions and kernels.

You could just restore that nandroid backup.
Otherwise, tarring the boot.img with Cygwin and flashing with Odin should work. Then flash ArpegGioMod. Or make a single tar file with both partitions in Cygwin.
Here's a "universal" command: tar -H ustar -c amss arm11boot mibib oemsbl qcsbl boot.img recovery.img csc.rfs system.rfs data.rfs efs.rfs > GT-S5660M_MUGKG3.tar
I put it in a text file with the .sh extension, in cygwin/bin/ making it a command that can be invoked directly. (It's actually part of a set of batch files I've made to automate the copy and preparation of ArpegGioMod updates.)

No, I'm just an user, my job has nothing to do with mobile business. It's just Futureshop had a great deal on 5660Ms last week and half of my family and friends got one I was the first to root and unlock mine so... had to do it with everybody else's. I'm playing with custom ROM flashing now and want to make sure I got everything right, because I suspect I will be doing it number of times.
So I'm using the opportunity to say "Thank you!" for your work!
i used this rom with m 5660m and i still got wifi problems. wont turn correctly. im seeing you mention about ops file and boot img modding.dont kno how to do that

Did you flashed a 5660 rom? You'll need to flash the stock 5660m rom first. The link is here;

[ACS][Base Rom]Stock Rooted Odex & Deodex[Updated 10/15/11][Closer to Real Stock]

Welcome!
Hello, these roms were made in order for people to have recovery-flashable zips of stock roms (not having to rely on tars and Odin). These roms are compiled from Odex and Deodex system dumps and have no other mods besides root, busybox and recovery.
***Disclaimer***
I am not responsible for any damage, be it mental, physical, mechanical, etc caused by the flashing of this rom. If you flash it, you do so at your own risk. Glad we could get that out of the way
If any developers want to use these as a base rom, there is no need to ask. Just grab em and go. I made these for themers and other rom developers who don't usually work at making the rom itself, but taking what's there and making it better. I hope it helps out!
First the shout outs:
CNZ (RoadRAGEN) - Updater Script, Odex & Deodex Dump
ptfdmedic - Deodex System Dump
bubby323 and chris41g - for use of kernels and general help.
k0nane - noCIQ mod.
thefredelment, phantomfreak53, darren.wsln1 and lballer59 - Help identifying issues.
And of course the Testers:
henbone11(WR47HANZ), COMEDY, lovinlissa1984, geraldweb, lballer59 and banksj174
The Goods:
Okay, the goods:
EG30 Stock Deodex with root, recovery, busybox WITH No CIQ
EG30 Stock Deodex with root, recovery, busybox WITHOUT the No CIQ mod
EG30 Stock Odex with root, recovery and busybox
The Download links:
Download links can be found here at the ACS Forums!

Changelog and Features
Version 1 and 2 changelogs in the 2nd post
Changelog
Re-added bubby323's kernel so it is a pure stock rom with ONLY clockwork 5 recovery (no additional features) (all 3 roms)
Removed all non-stock apks and replaced all missing stock apks (only required for the deodex roms)
[/LIST]
Features
Android Version 2.3.4
Kernel Build: bubby323's stock with cwm 5
Rooted with SU v3.0 with fully updated binaries(thanks to cnz(RoadRAGEN))
busbox latest version(thanks to cnz(RoadRAGEN)
ClockworkMod Reocvery version v5.x (thanks to bubby323's kernel)
No-CIQ mod (one of the deodex roms only)(thanks to k0nane)
All stock apps/widgets included (I have removed nothing that came stock)
Pick Which SD Card You Want Recovery to Read
For now, the recovery on the kernels in these roms tells CWM to read from the internal memory card. If you want it to read from the external memory card go here and download the "Latest Compiled Version". Flash in Odin and CWM will work with the external sd card. These roms run the link under "Older releases".
Installation Instructions
For those who just wanna use it as their daily drivers, here's the installation instructions:
ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID BEFORE YOU FLASH ANYTHING!!!!! <-----Words to flash by.
1. Download rom, put it on your phone.
2. Boot into recovery.
3. FULL WIPE IS REQUIRED. Data AND cache AND dalvik.
3.5 Go back and make sure step 3 has been completed
4. Flash rom.
5. reboot and enjoy
**Warning**
The flash process and first boot takes a minute. Be patient, it will work!
Known Issues
Okay, for whatever reason, the deodex w/NoCIQ just will not install the MyFiles.apk. This doesn't sound significant. However, without it, the contacts app will Force Close when you attempt to assign a custom ringtone to a contact. There are two workarounds:
1. Get a different file manager, navigate to the sound and manually assign it to a contact.
2. Find the apk (it's in every flashable rom) and install it onto your phone manually.
I will attempt to fix it once an update comes out and I'm forced to play with these roms again. Until then, the workaround works just as well. (thanks lballer59 for finding the problem).

How to flash if I am not rooted stock?
Hi can you provide a just a few more steps for people like me who are still on stock non rooted rom? I know it says save it on and then flash.
Welcome to the party!

Thank you for you hard work And i totaly agree with what you said in your OP.
And the only prob i see is you are using buddy'2 kernel + cmw. From what i understand, and PLEASE correct me if im wrong, THat kenel is still a hack of source and initrams from int sg2. The jury still seems 2b out on wether or not there r issuse with that.
Im still currently looking for totaly stock kernel +root+cmw. IF i new how to make, I would.
again correct me if im wrong and thank you.

From my understanding the kernel is built from stock source not the sgs2. However, the cwm is built using the sgs2 binaries to save time. I know a new version is being worked on. I have been using Bubby's stock cwm for about a week and it is working great. Using a jig removed the exclamation mark and the i9100 screen so I am happy where I am. But I am looking forward to a new release that is completely stock with hopefully nothing but boot animation support and init.d. I hate having root and busybox built into the kernel. Just a personal issue.

Great work absolutezerogi!
CWM first?
Do I need to flash CWM first for this to work? In that case which CWM should I use? I see two versions available.
Thanks.

Yes. I use Bubby's.
Looking for something Stable... Hope I find it here ( ACS are normally stable ) giving it a shot now! Thanks
So far, this seems to be the closest we can get, without actually getting there.
I have tried Zedomax, and had a few LOS', no big deal, but I went back to stock.
If I go back to Zedomax (CWM, SuperUser, Root), can I flash this in CWM and have a completely stock rom with CWM, SuperUser, and Root WITH the stock kernel?
Thanks in advance.

Got your developers backwards lol. Zedomax's first kernel was from source and initramfs from the SGSII international. I pulled the initframfs myself for bubby's kernel, it's stock I promise

Hi there!
First you must be rooted. If you're not you need to go to one of our root methods and get rooted and get recovery. Then you just flash these in recovery However, I will make the instructions a little more detailed for ya.
Hi guys!
UPDATE: Now includes busybox.
Enjoy!!
Off topic, but do you suppose cm7 will be compiled using this kernel?

This is stock rom with TouchWiz and Bubby's completely stock rooted kernel. CM is made fro AOSP (Android Open Source Project) source and then ported to a phone. So, CM won't be using this at all lol.
crap!
UPDATE 2 - back in business. needed to flash stock kernel/rom then let it encrypt, then tell it to decrypt, then re-root, re-flash, back to normal again.
I have a problem, I really hope someone can help.
I followed the directions here, and everything worked great.
i was rocking the rom for about a day and then I noticed in settings that I had an option to "encrypt the phone" so stupidly (and obvoiusly not thinking) i did it and was thrown into a boot loop.
I tried rebooting, and nothing.
I tried booting to recovery, and wiping all, and then reflashing this rom. - nothing
I tried doing the volume down and power, then the volume up thing, and then I reapplied the zImage using heimdall and nothing.
Currently - all I can get to is recovery, I can't mount the the phone (nothing shows up on the computer, maybe because it is encrypted?) So I can't even copy something to the phone to try to flash it
Any ideas? - really deperate here, I can't believe I pulled such a newbie move.
Downloading this as soon as I can. Thanks for your hard work!

I'm also going to PM with these instructions so I can be sure they get to you faster.
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1282420
download the stock tarball made by crawrj
boot into download mode (volume down + power)
Odin that tar. It'll return you to pure stock (unrooted, stock everything). You should be able to boot then. Do a factory reset once you do (to wipe everything), then you should have a functioning phone to re-root and do whatcha want. Let me know if that works.
Thank you so much OP. I flashed to v4 of Zedomax, then I flashed your ROM in CWM, and now I have everything. CWM, SuperUser, and all of my root apps are working on a deodexed ROM!!!
Thanks again.

[GUIDE] Official Update [UCLJ3] ATT Update with Root!

***MOVING ICEPOP ROM TO SEPARATE THREAD***Here is a good guide to updating your Captivate Glide to the OFFICIAL UCLJ3 update which includes all the fixes that were borked in the Leaked ICS release!
First off I'd like to send credit where credit is due...
Dman3285 (cm10)
Thegreatergood (literom & kernel)
Aquethys (cwmr 6)
Kombatant (ICS tethering fix)
ItsMeBdon (root)
if I missed someone please let me know!
I quickly threw this together as a step by step guide to update your captivate glide with the oficial ICS released in October '2012
I'm new to modding and developing with android code. any help, suggestions and advice is always welcome.
Disclaimer: no member here in XDA developers will be responsible for a bricked device. I have tested this guide myself and has proved to work well. please proceed with caution. Read through the guide before hand!
I will soon jaz up this thread and with permission from the devs that provided the files, post them for downloading here!
Official ICS from ATT Guide
this process is done using a pc running windows os.
neededdin 3.07
Cwmr 6.0
Official ics update
EFS Pro 1.12.6
Samsung usb drivers
7zip
Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zip
1.use cwmr to make a backup of your current android system.
2.use efs pro to make a backup of your efs folder. make sure you keep it in a save place like on your pc
3.copy your "clockworkmod" folder from your internal phone memory to your pc. that is your cwmr system backup
if your currently running Dman's cm10, make sure cwmr 6.0 is installed.
there is an option under mounts and storage to mount usb mass storage. connect the usb cable and copy your files!
4.while your usb is connected, copy all your pictures, music and other important files you want to save.
after the update it all may be lost!
5.if you're like me and have apps installed that were not from the market, you might want to use a app backup utility
save them and copy them to your pc for later use!
6.open the official ics update zip and extract the files to your desktop using 7zip.
7.open odin3 (right click and run as administrator)
8.Reboot your glide in download mode by holding the volume up and power together,
be sure when prompted to continue pres the appropriate button.
9.You should now see "Added!" in the message box of odin. click the "PDA" button and select the md5 file you extracted.
10.make sure you UN-CHECK all the boxes except for the pda! THIS IS A MUST!!
11.click start. there will be test displayed in message box! wait till you get a green box showing Pass! and in the message box
display "All threads completed (succeed 1 / failed 0)"
12.remove the usb cable and reboot the phone. you now have the official ics update installed stock with no root.
if for some reason you phone gets stuck on the att splash screen, reboot into recovery and do a factory reset!
13.you will now need to re-flash cwmr 6 using the same method starting with step 8. selecting the recovery file in pda.
14.now to root, boot into cwmr and flash Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zip. reboot and you should have root!

Or you could do it this way too haha
1. Cleared everything off my phone via CWMR to start completely fresh
(Follow the directions and download the files from here http://androidromupdate.com/2012/09/08/i927uclh2-ics-4-0-4-samsung-sgh-i927-captivate-glide-firmware-upgrade-official-kiesota-stock-rom/ --basically my instructions are the same as these. If you follow those instructions, continue to step 10 of my instructions to root your glide)
2. booted phone in download mode (up vol +pwr)
3. used Odin3 v3.07.exe to flash I927UCLH2_I927UCALH2_I927UCALH2_HOME.tar.md5
4. let the phone boot and activated my account and what not
5. went to settings>about phone, software update
6. and got the OTA AT&T push update to I927UCLJ
7. booted phone into download mode (pwr+vol up again)
8. used Odin3 v3.07.exe to flash CWRM through the recovery.tar.md5
9. restarted the phone
10. went into usb mass mode on the phone
11. put Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zip into my external_sd folder (easiest folder for me to get to)
12. unplugged and turned off usb mass mode and turned off the phone and booted into CWRM (vol down+pwr) and flashed the superuser .zip file
13. rebooted phone
Now I have a rooted official ICS 4.0.4
14. I downloaded SuperSu and Root Explorer from the market and my sms+backup for my text messages to get restored
and everything is working smoothly!
next few goals....
1. include dman's EPM mod and Kombatant's tethering fix
2. remove bloat ware and include a different launcher
3. create a cwmr flashable rom!

Sounds amazing. Wish I could do you some good. But I don't know coding all that well other than CSS and a little HTML. No good for programming though. You should have the Navigation Bar, Apex Launcher, MagicLocker, SuperSu, and the bloatware removed all the while making it cwmr flashable. That would be amazing.
Hey does anyone know how to get the 14 toggles bar ? I had it in uclh2 with thegreatergoods build but can't find how to do it specific on our glide. I really miss those functions

Ya I saw that as I read more, I moved my comments into that thread... If we get the smooth sailing theme, 14toggle mod, gps, camera all on UCLJ3 we're going to have a rock solid ICS on our i927's.
I'm reading up on deodex and I'll try it out later this afternoon. I found this guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1600805
I would try deox...but I'd probably brick my phone -w-
hahaha
ok I finally have a possible working zip. flashing not to test before releasing!

I tried! It was able to flash but on re boot went to download mode! I'm using android kitchen .213. After building the zip and attempting to flash, I get a status 0 error!
Sent from my SGH-I927 using Tapatalk 2
I think there is a bug in the conversion from update-script to updater-script in the kitchen!
the only thing I have done to the rom so far is deodex, zipalign, root, install apex launcher and some other useful apps. also removed some useless bloat and a custom boot animation I think y'all might like
Ill post a link as soon as it uploads to google drive! it wont flash in cwmr 6 I get a status 0 error!
How did you get the rom to deodex? I installed it using xultimate but keep getting errors in Email, exchange, mobile print, phone, systemui and a couple of others...
after copying all the deodex files back on the phone and rebooting I have no phone, no email, and heaps of errors :|
I booted up an ubuntu VM and have installed android kitchen hoping it will work ...
All this just because I want to have 14toggles heh .. next twill be the gay animation menu but thats a simple fix.

I was able to deodex by using dsixda's Android Kitchen. running a ubuntu 12.04 system! as soon as I can figure out how to get it to flash properly I'll look into the toggles!
I am by no means an experienced dev! this is the first rom I have done and its just a modified stock at that! Google and xda search has been my best friend in learning!!
I am uploading the zip as we speak, my internet upload speed is slow! but it's getting there. Hope someone can find the trouble in the script!
here's a guide I found that I have been following to get started with my rom!

How I Installed An Edge ROM and Tricked My Phone Out

I have been asked by several people, on the forums and via PM. I thought that I would offer a step-by-step guide.
Will This Trip Knox? Yes, it will. Installing a custom recovery such as TWRP will definitely trip Knox. From what I have read installing a ROM, even through FlashFire, will trip Knox, as will flashing a kernel.
You Don't Seem To Care About Knox That is correct. To this point the only downside is that I won't be able to use Samsung Pay and I don't plan on that anyway. BUT.....if you do care and Knox matters, stop reading now and stick with stock.
I will also recommend that you grab ODIN and a stock TAR file for your phone. You can always find the latest firmware at SamMobile, but will need to create an account and free downloads are speed capped. It will be SLOOOOW. But you will get a zip with the file that you need inside. Good to have in case of accident. Here is where I got mine: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/47474/G920PVPU1AOE2_G920PSPT1AOE2_SPR/
That said.....assume that you have a rooted S6. Install TWRP Manager from the Play store, ignore anything it says about an SD card and click on "Install TWRP." The version that you are looking for is "zerofltespr.img." You can also download that from here https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxys6sprint.html and use Flashfire to install. Reboot into recovery (see http://www.androidexplained.com/galaxy-s6-recovery-mode/ for an explanation) and make sure that TWRP is installed. If TWRP doesn't come up, make sure that you used the correct file and try again.) Now you are ready to begin.
1) The ROM that I used is the SAC23 ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...ment/sac23ram9200srintdeoxedmoddedv1-t3107342 Download that and copy to your phone. You should also grab the "Recent apps fix long press on home" zip file from the bottom of that post.
2) You will also NEED (!!!!!) a kernel that is designed for the S6, otherwise you will bork your phone. I use (and recommend) the Ktoonsez kernel located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...elopment/kernel-kt-sgs6-ocv-ktweaker-t3093009 Grab that and copy to your phone.
3) For fingerprint recognition and private mode, you will need the Aroma installer from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60112854&postcount=2 If you use the Aroma installer (and I don't so I have no experience) be sure that those are the only two things that you install.
UPDATE 7/1/2015 Just had a report that fingerprint is working with this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s6/development/kernel-kernel-t3146127
Anyone interested should read all posts for that kernel before flashing.
Once you have those files on your phone, you are ready to begin.
Return to recovery mode. Before you do anything else....Click on "Backup." Accept the default settings and let it do its thing. I always name my backups....calling this Stock is probably a good idea. Once that is done, if you break things, you can return to this.
Okay, now go to Wipe. The old-timers will disagree, but most of the time the default "Factory Reset" is all that you need. If you are paranoid (and who isn't?) after this you can go to Advanced and choose Dalvik Cache, Cache, Data and System. But I rarely do this anymore. Complete guide for using TWRP is here: http://www.androidtipsandhacks.com/root/twrp-the-complete-guide-to-using-recovery-on-android/
Now go back to the main screen and select Install. You can select multiple zips. Flash the ROM, the kernel and that Recent Apps zip file. Be sure to set the kernel to flash after the ROM. Or you can flash them one at a time.
Once done, reboot phone and if all went well, you will see a new boot animation. First boot will take a while, let her go.
You should have a clean build so remember that you will need to reset Developers options, security (for allow Unknown sources) and other stuff.
With the Ktoonsez kernel, you will have the KTweaker app, very useful. If it doesn't install for you (and it didn't for me) the APK is located inside the zip file that you downloaded at S6\KT-SGS6-LP5.0-TW-G920P-05.28.2015.zip\system\app\ Extract that and install. I use downloaded Profiles a lot.
If all is well, but the fingerprint and private mode settings are things that you use, go back into Recovery and select ONLY those two items. I'll state again, I don't use them, have never flashed the Aroma installer and can't offer any help. I have seen that they work for some people, not for others..../me shrugs. I can't help with that.
I also use the Wicked One Theme from @dazedandconfused who is a master. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...ps/theme-wicked-one-theme-s6-s6-edge-t3129822 for the theme and instructions. Be sure to follow the instructions about having the Urban theme from the Theme Store installed first. But this theme makes me very happy.
That is everything that I know....which goes to show how little I know!
EDIT: Missed a step....DOH!.... if you are using TWRP you should flash the zip file found here to address the Deep Sleep issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60385577&postcount=56
Happy ROM-ing.

I have to say that it is really popular mod, but not to my taste either. Here is what I run for battery:
GSam Battery Monitor (also lets you customize the battery icon, but I don't)
Greenify and Wakelock Detector
With Ktoonsez, I have the Ktweaker installed. Click on the 3 dots upper left. Scroll down to KTweaker Shop Profiles and then pick from Conservative, Balanced or Performance (or grab some of each.) I am using the Conservative Profile "Dead By April." I love that name!
Average Per Complete Charge (now this is with light usage) 2 days 0 hours, with screen on 1 hour 41 minutes.
Not expecting to get the same battery life when I am traveling or with heavy usage, but that is still pretty remarkable.

Hello, thank you for this great write-up! I PM'ed you the other day, and you helped me get my phone flashed and all.
However, I am still having issues with the Fingerprint scanner. If any other users do use the Fingerprint scanner, could you explain the steps in which you flashed each file? After using the Aroma installer to fix Fingerprint, I keep getting "Unfortunately, Fingerprint has stopped working." I just can't seem to get it working even with the Aroma installer. Maybe I am flashing files in the wrong order?
Thanks for any advice!

I have tried both. I first wiped system, data, cache, dalvik and tried that. Then, I tried dirty flash from stock, flashing the ROM, kernel, and fingerprint fix, then wiped caches, and nothing. :/
Could you start the aroma installer, and on the first slide it tells you the version. Could you tell me which version you have? Maybe we have different versions, that could be the problem.. Thank you!
Edit: I also tried the other debloated ROM you mentioned, but it did not work with nor without the Aroma installer. If anybody wants to work with me to get this working, I can provide logs and information and test out whatever is needed. Thanks!
Thank you for this write up...glad to learn there is dev'ing going on for the edge.
Was hoping you could help; tried flashing twrp via odin, per instructions--root manager shows that I have TWRP 2.x.x. installed but when I try to boot into recovery I just get this crazy bright white screen. Was able to reboot normally the first time, but then tried booting into recovery with flashify and now stock on that bright white screen. I do have success with getting connections with odin, twrp flashing successfully. But now trying to flash back to stock firmware to get my recovery back and I have mixed results. PLEASE any help would be very much appreciated...might have borked my brand new s6 edge...but hope not.
Thanks in advance.

First off. please edit your post to not include the entire Original Post. It is both bad form and makes it difficult to find your question.
The first thing that I would do if I were you is to make sure that I had a good download of the SAC23 ROM. That is most likely where your problem is. I will check my download later and post the MD5, but you should re-download.
I checked MD5 using WinMD5 Free (shouldn't matter, there are several MD5 checkers)and the MD5 should be 3bb8163e902769f564a2f3adb3a1b7e6. Try checking that.

Came here to say I had the same problem. The original ROM posted here was a Deodexed ROM, and the aroma tool posted was an odex version. There's an aroma installer for Deodexed Roms that works perfectly fine, just gotta use that. I'd post the link but I've been up all night and I have work in an hour lol. Have fun, the ROM is pretty nice!

Rooted stock 28.0.A.8.251 ROM - looking for testers

I have successfully created a stock rooted ROM based on 28.0.A.8.251 Generic HK firmware
The ROM has the following features
Stock ROM with MyXperia app removed
Rooted with SuperSU on the /system partition
Custom kernel from latest 28.0.A.7 kernel- copyleft sources with SELinux in permissive mode and Sony RIC disabled
Deodexed and zip-aligned
Writeable external sdcard
Busybox
This ROM can be flashed using @ChrisJ951's command line TWRP.
I'm not yet ready to release it publicly but I am looking for a couple of beta testers. If you're a sophisticated user and you're willing to give it a go then send me a PM and I'll let you have a link to the download and some instructions for installation. The installation doesn't touch the userdata partition, so it's a non-wipe install, although I strongly recommend you update to the base firmware before installing the custom rom.

Yes, it's deodexed, zipaligned, SELinux in permissive mode, RIC disabled, busybox installed, write-enabled external SD card, adb insecure. I'll probably add some other things soon - Xposed is top of the list.

I doubt it. I've made no bug fixes. If there's a problem in the base ROM, the problem will exist in this ROM.

OK, so far, everything seems to be working fine including LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC transferring of files between devices, Location, Sync, Google Play, System RW (ES File Explorer and AdAway worked), ExternalSD RW (Titanium Backup and SMS Backup & Restore worked), Camera and all other Sony apps seem to be working fine. I haven't made any phone calls yet though. TWRP also worked great - backup, wiping and installing all worked great.
Only slight niggles I've found so far are: Google Drive keeps popping up a blank grey/white screen for a split second - when trying to sync or access Play Store - and disappears and when setting up a Google account, a message pops up saying Google Play Services has stopped - even thought it works just fine. Oh and Google Maps didn't connect the first time but forcing a continue worked. Other than those 3 items, everything else seems to be working fine. However, once all apps are updated, they all work fine.
Currently testing 4K recording and it's just gone past 11 minutes .
Xposed also working as well as Greenify Experimental Features and it seems the 20MP Superior Auto is working. Xperia Xposed didn't work - I believe this is a general incompatibility matter and not restricted to this ROM - haven't tried anything else though
Thank you very much @dl12345 for your hard work. If you need any more testing, let me know.
My first initial thoughts are perfect. I haven't had any issue whatsoever. No problem with root, works with every app. Appreciate the work.

Which version of Xposed did you use? All the ones I tried only resulted in bootloops.
I used official xposed v73 sdk21 arm64.
Little note: You have to wipe dalvik cache before or after installing Xposed to prevent bootloop.
Latest Xposed has auto-wipe feature, but to make sure...
Could I test, just unlocked my bl last night
hello all this rom have lte band 38/2600 ? Or can be added? thx
Having a e6533 Dual. 266 firmware with unlocked bootloader. Would like to downgrade and test this rooted 251 ROM. Thank you.
I used to use xposed-v74-sdk21-arm64-dl12345-UNOFFICIAL-20150929.zip as from some post. Facing random reboot from time to time.
Last week, I need to reflash, I tried official xposed-v79-sdk21-arm64.zip. It works ... and the phone stay "no reboot" for one day. Then it starts again. I wipe cache and seems back to be more stable. My own feeling is thsi v79-sdk21 has less reboot issue, but still does.

BTW, Sony has new update in Asia ...
28.0.A.8.272 Release: 1/9/2016 Still 5.0.2
I could not find anywhere to download full rom. Also not sure existing root/xposed will work or not.
