Speaker Quality - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got a new GPad GPE, I love it, but the speakers sound TERRIBLE.
Music sounds very muffled with a "tinny" quality. I haven't heard anything this bad on a portable device before.
Is this a common problem with GPads? Or should I look at sending it back.
Thanks!

Mine is fine as my other devices.

If you are using my kernel, you can adjust the gain and other speaker settings using either Trickstermod or the Faux sound application. The driver for sound control in my kernel is not "the latest", and you will get told as much if you download the Faux app, but it is what works on our kernel. Adjusting from Trickster worked for me. It's not a total solution, but much, much better than nothing!

speaker sound on nexus 7 FHD low?

is it normal or not? the left(top near the front cam) speaker is much louder then the right?
also is there any apps to improve sound loudness? thanks
Get Faux's kernel and his sound mod app. Only thing as far as I know that can change volume for the whole system.

I think that's a hardware problem.. My n7 is plenty loud and both speakers are equally loud as well. You could always try faux, but if it remains you'll have to exchange your n7.
thanks i'll try to get faux kernel, would rather stick to stock
might be i have bad ears and bad case that blocks the speakers

Does anyone know...
When I go to Play store it says this app needs custom kernel for "full functionality"...if you use it on stock, what does it do, if anything? Whats the gap between partial and full functionality?
Thanks.

Headset volume not very loud

So I picked up my LG3 for sprint over the weekend. Loving the phone so far, coming from a HTC one M7. Definitely prefer the G3 in every aspect however one thing I noticed is the headset volume is not as loud. Which sucks because I use my phone at the gym and it's a big difference from the HTC one. Is there an app that you guys would recommend to solve this issue? I saw someone mention the Beats Audio app, but can't seem to find it...
OR am I stuck until we can get a root and load a kernel to fix this?

Which headset/earbuds are you using?
Which music player are you using?
I use PowerAmp for Android (I also purchased the unlocker).
This app has hands down the best equalizer/booster/settings for any aspect of listening to music.
Try the free version, if it has solved your problem you may consider buying the unlocker.
Hope this has helped you out

Thanks Man,
I can use the stock music player it comes with since it has an equalizer as well and noticed it does make it louder. However, I mostly stream through soundcloud and so the equalizer doesn't have an effect on that.
There are also equalizers that will alter all the sound coming out of the phone.
No matter what the audio source is.
This app does that, you might give it a try.

You can change all the audio settings using ViperAudio search XDA and you will find the page, i have used this and doubles the volume and clarity, must have android mod..
I am using klipsh ear buds and they are super loud. Hurts my ears to go past about 75%. And I don't have sensitive ears either. I have a jl w7 13.5 which blasts my ears about 2 hours a day

How to get max of sound quality for music listening?

Yo,
I like to listen to music, so i'd like to tweak the sound parameters on the phone to my taste.
What can be done in this direction?
Maybe you can recommend me some apps that are good to play with EQ and other sound influenting factors?
Poweramp.
If you mean like full system equalizer, there ain't any good one out there. They tend to make loudspeaker really quiet.

I want to fix the speakers

Upon using this device for few days, I found out how bad the speakers sound. The highs are extremely muffled out. I also found why it sounds this bad. There is a significant bass boost effect already applied, and you can't un-bass-boost it. You can check this in the equalizer settings in Google Play Music. In fact, after I messed around in the eq app I downloaded, turning the highs way up, it sounds significantly better. But still, it can't give the same effect as reverting the bass boost effect. That's why I want to know if there is a way to override the factory settings and revert back the bass boost effect. And yes, I don't mind the root methods.
Try V4A?
Hey there, we're going to make some audio adjustments so sound should be a markedly better.
When should I expect this update?

Very keen to know when this will be released as well. Just using basic notification sounds, I get dreadful 'hissing' as the sound file tails off. Its really bad. Vibrates like crazy watching videos. It's definitely over eq'd and/or too much gain.

Is that gonna be a software update?
Right now, we're not sure if this audio tuning will make our next MR update, but indeed it is a software update that can help with the audio.
It's been a month. Do you guys have a plan for the next update?

I'm also excited for the next update. Sounds like you guys are fixing all my issues at once (camera, speakers, and heat). Basically waiting for that before I sell off my nexus 6p.
Received the update! It's freaking amazing how much the speakers and the sound output has improved. Didn't expect this much of improvement. Thanks guys!

Yeah I hope so too. I use an eq app to turn the volume down. Also is it just me that the left and the right channel of the audio switches for a split second randomly?

Does anyone here have a successfully working plan for Viper on Robin? I've ended up having to adjust the CPU through Kernel Adiutor in order to eliminate crackling/popping while on ViperAtmos Stock 4.7. I just want this phone to sound great. Otherwise, it's perfect. Thank You!

What adjustments did you make? When playing music and screen turns off music stutters horribly. Unbearable.

Sound too low

Hi all,
In my previous android phone (samsung s3) I had the same problem, but i solved it with root and edited a simply file into system to increase (i think) decibel.
With my rooted OP3, i tried to edit a similar file like in the samsung s3 with no results, then i have install viper4android and EX kelnel to boost audio, but the sound increases distorting the file....
Do you have a solution.... ?

Can you give me link?
I found a thread, but viper4arise give me: i/o error
Edit: Installed with success, but it seems like viper4android.
The problem come when i raise the volume, the bass are distorted.
I usually download mp3 from youtube at 320kbps, i tried also other way like torrent, but audio quality looks the same.
Can you give me a suggest to download music at the best quality? Also if isn't mp3 extension.
Thank you.
Find an appropriate setting for your Headphone in viper4arise. Download kernel files and select in the convolver option, u can get it by a simple Google search.
