call timer - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I thought a while back when we first got our g3's that there was a thread for removing the call timer floating button, but I can't find it. Is there a way to do this? I looked under call settings but no dice. Thanks in advance..

Receiving SMS messages after phone call and/or missed call

Is there a cab that can disable the SMS msg I get after a phone call or missed one?
And yes, I have searched high & low for a solution on this site & can't find it.
Thanks!
So, my situation is unique? No one else has had this issue?
It's not an sms message.. it's just a pop up... and its dependent on what rom you are using really on how you turn on and off your notifications. If you are running a custom rom like Energy or something go to their thread and ask how to disable the particular notification.
usually its settings\sounds and notifications\ then go to the notifications tab and in there you can change what your phone does for different events.

You want to turn off the "missed call" icon on the task bar? I don't recall anyone requesting this before...

No, he wants to turn of the message that comes in with details about the missed call (date/time).
The missed call notification was off. Actually, it shows as a SMS message with the phone number that called or the call that I made. It definitely seems like a ROM issue - just flashed to Jackos' (so far perfect IMO) ROM & haven't had that issue at all. Thanks - I think I've found the solution.
Hey guys, the damn notification is back again! What the hell is that?
Are you using Youmail for your Voicemail?

[Q]Dialer wants me to dial 1 before accepting a call, why?

Okay. I'm not sure how or why, but recently when I answer my phone the dialer makes me press "1" to accept the call before I can talk to people. Sometimes I don't do it fast enough and it hangs up making me have to call back.
Anyone know what app does this? Anyone know how to turn it off? I like answering my phone and it actually answers my phone.
Thanks for the help!
Odd, have you looked through all the settings? What apps have you downloaded recently?
We're comin from a pure power source.
is it a Sense ROM? are you roaming?? it sounds like the Roam Guard or Call Guard option, or something along those lines.
Did you install Google Voice? There is a setting in the web interface to turn that off. Call screening I think it is.
Yeah, that's Google Voice, not an app. Go to the Voice website and turn off Call Screening.
Worked perfectly, thanks guys!
I can troubleshoot a boot loop in minutes but Google Voice continues to be a thorn in my side lol.
Thank you sooo much, this has been annoying the ****e out of me but I never remember to search for a fix!

[Q] Need help with ringer please

I have searched around and cant find an answer. the ringer on my pone is not working all the time. I keep getting missed calls while the pone is sitting next to me so I know its not sounding. I am on stock rooted. I do have advanced call blocker and alarm droid but have had them for a long time and never had a problem. I have frozen them to see if it helps but I dont get alot of calls and If I ask someone to call of course it wont do it. you know how that goes. I also have made sure the flip to silence is not checked and did toggle it to be sure. Would appreciate any input.
I will be sure to hit "thanks"

Try to go to settings, applications,,manage applications, all, settings, and clear data. That is going to force closed the settings apk maybe that fix your problem.

Last resort, perform a master reset.
Do you see a missed call message or just the VM? Are you using a default, built-in ringtone or something personalized?

I am actually using a custom ringtone. I have a "audio" folder that I use to replace the stock sounds. I never even thought of that but I dont see why it would work sometimes and not always. The text and every other notification sound works fine and always, its just the phone ringer that I am having problems with. I do see a missed call on the lock screen, and I checked to make sure I didnt have any blocking on any contacts. I have no special ringtone for any contacts, everything there is set to default. Do you think if I assign a special tone for certain contacts that would help? Ill give it a shot just to see. Thanks
i use ringdroid, and zedge
Try using rings extended, it lets you select any music file on your sd or phone as a ringtone

Mic disappeared after adding additional tracfone text messages
I added 1,000 text messages to my tracfone account. Went to send a text message and my mic was gone..... Called tracfone... no help there.
After reading the answer here about 'holding' down the gear, i was able to fix it.. Thank goodness for you guys. You are a great tech help.

No incoming call popup when using phone.

If I am reading on my phone and a call comes in I don't get any visual popup to answer or decline. The phone rings but I have to pull down the notification bar in order to answer.
I usually keep do not disturb on at all times with only favorites allowed through so don't know if it's the problem or something else is.
For example, if one of my kids calls I hear it ring but I have to search/ take extra steps in order to answer the call.
This only seems to happen with the screen on. I believe it works fine when screen is off.
How do I fix this?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. I actually already had that setting checked.
I ended up finding another setting that seems to have fixed it. Can't remember where I found it but as long as it's working........
Glad you found it, had the same problem and I think I found the setting you did. For anyone else with this problem, in the Do Not Disturb setting, under Hide Notifications, there are settings that can be toggled for both screen on and screen off situations. Adjusting these should fix the issues.
Cheers,
