Working Apps for the Moto 360 (Constantly Updating) - Moto 360

So, one thing I've noticed out of the box is that a lot of the apps on the app store do NOT work on the Moto 360 as of the moment. I'm going to try to compile a list of all that do and don't, so if you guys could help out, that would be awesome!
EDIT: Added categories. Would you like links as well or would it become too polluted?
EDIT: Links now added
WORKING:
Utilities and Tools:
-Find My Phone (Read title)
-Kiwi (Motion gestures)
-Wear Aware (Another Find My Phone app; I prefer Find my Phone)
-Ringtone Remote (Works, but can do the same thing in Wear Mini Launcher)
-Wear Internet Browser (Exactly what it sounds like)
-Wear Music Controller
-PAID: PixtoCam (One of the only Remote Camera Apps that is currently working)
-PAID: Remote Shot for Moto 360 (Other working Remote Camera App. Both are $2, but this one has a bit more features)
-Wear Speaker (When accepting call from watch, automatically crank volume to max on phone)
-Wear Buddy (Handle all settings from your watch)
-Calendar for Android Wear
-UPDATED: Coffee Time (Pay for Starbucks with your wrist)
-Calculator for Android Wear (Solid calculator; Was updated to work with Moto 360)
Communication
-Hand Dialer
-PAID: Mini Dialer (Exactly what you think it does. Initiate calls from your watch)
-Wear Quick SMS (Set preset SMS messages and use them to respond to texts)
-PAID: Wear Messenger (You can view SMS conversations and respond to them. Absolutely must have app. MUST HAVE!)
UI and Customization
-Wear Mini Launcher (MUST HAVE! Swipe from the left to bring up all your apps)
-PAID: Facer (Paid App for Custom Watch Faces by a fellow XDA member)
-Matrix Watch Face
-Wearable Widgets (Put any of your widgets on your watch.)
Health, GPS, and Outdoors
-@here
-ViewRanger
-1Weather (A beautiful weather app)
-Glympse (Social location tracker )
-Strava (Running and Cycling GPS and Tracker)
-Swing by Swing (Golf GPS and Scorecard)
-PAID: Vimo Golf Swing Analyzer (Analyzes your golf swing)
Services
-Lyft
-Duolingo (Language teacher) (square UI)
-Watch Membership (Put your loyalty cards on your wrist)
Games
-Shaking Wear (Shake your hand as fast as you can for an extended period of time until you run out of juice)
-Whoopie Wear (Not really a game, but a gag. If you use this just realize a lot of people won't like you)
-MTG LifeTracker (MAGIC THE GATHERING YES I KNOW)
-Birdie Wear (Very well done Flappy Bird ripoff. Given me a good hour or two of playtime)
WORKS BUT NEEDS TWEAKING:
-Android Wear 2048 (But awkwardly rotates to the side so you would have to aim your fist at your stomach to play xD)
-MiuCalc L (Works but a lot is cut off due to circular design)
NOT WORKING:
-Android Wear Calculator (The one by scoutant.org)
-Wear Calc
-Wear Camera Remote (Sends Camera feed to watch to control it. Does not provide feed, only black screen)
-SnapSnap (Remote Camera app)
-Uber
That's what I've compiled so far. Please PM me or post so I can add more

I can't for the life of me get the app drawer to open... Swiping to the left brings up nothing. I even downloaded the browser app just to populate an app drawer. Still Nada...
Update: I have gotten the wear launcher working. But internet browser I'm still having issues with.

Yeah, the drawer takes a little getting used to. Sometimes it takes a little while for it to load on the watch, but after a few minutes you can get it working

My app "Facer" works, allows you to make custom watchfaces. I would post the link but then that would be breaking the rules on "selling paid apps".

This is specifically for ones that work with the Moto 360. Surprisingly, a lot need some tweaks or flat out don't work at all.

No problem. People can check out that list and see how they work and look in the Moto. I just try them and keep or uninstall.

New android user here, so far this is what I'm finding essential:
1. QuickPic (better Gallery viewer than stock)
2. TuneIn Radio (best online radio streaming I found so far, with local channel support etc)
3. Twicca (best twitter app I have used on Android. I'm patiently waiting for TweetBot to come over to Android)
4. MX Player (best video player I've used so far)
5. Barcode Scanner (reads pretty much every bar code and great QR code reader)
6. FoxFi (free tethering)
7. Cerberus (security app)

Does anyone know if I'll get charged tethering fees if I use foxfi? I'm on Rogers.
Edit - nvm, it appears that rogers has no cost tethering. Another 2 great apps:
Waze (gps)
Avast mobile security (anti virus and anti theft)
Powered by Samsung Galaxy S3 via Tapatalk2
Here are some of the Apps I use daily :
- Tasker
- CSipSimple
- Tapatalk
- Chrome
- Google Voice
- Tweetcaster

aside from some mentioned,
- swiftp (setting up an ftp on your phone)
- 8tracks (music streaming)
- aviary (photo editing)
I have a couple of less popular apps that are essential to my phone.
- Image 2 Wallpaper: best wallpaper setter imho. Allows you to keeps an images dimensions and if your launcher supports it, scroll the image as well.
- Bounce (Be On Time): recent versions have been sucking but this nifty little app would analyze traffic data and distance to tell you when to leave for your next appointment
- Stopwatch and Timer+: the only app that I've found on ICS that keeps a visible timer running in your notification bar. I use this in conjunction with Bounce and I don't have to unlock my phone to see when I need to leave.
- MarketMarks: for those times when you see an interesting app but don't really feel like downloading it right then and there. Basically a book marker of apps which also keeps you updated with app updates for those apps that you don't have installed because you've been waiting forever for an update (i.e. LauncherPro)

Emit: stream my video library from my computer to my phone.
Automateit: I primarily use this to automate what my phone does when it connects to different bluetooth hosts. However it can automate other things such as texting some one at a certain time and date as one example.
Amazon app store: 1 free app a day from Amazon. You have to install from amazon directly.
Nova launcher: just my preference over stock.

I forgot to put:
- SwiftKey 3
- Set DNS
- FlightTrack
- BetterBattery Stats
- Dropsync
These are all Apps I find essential on my phone. I use them very regularly, if not on a daily basis.
I'll try not to repeat any apps that have already been mentioned, but here's the core apps that I always reinstall (in addition to google's gapps):
Primary Apps:
TiBu -- obligatory
Swype -- best keyboard
Chrome -- best browser
Google Voice -- for voicemail only
AdAway -- OpenSource; better than AdFree.
SMS Backup+ -- Automatically backs up your SMS, MMS, and Call log to folders in your GMail account every couple hours. And instead of restoring it all to your phone (which you can, except for MMS), bogging it down, just check gmail instead.
QuickPic -- The fastest gallery app
Remote for VLC -- I use this to control the kids' laptop running VLC (play/pause, volume, playlists, etc).
adbWireless -- my phone charges twice as fast on the 1amp A/C charger VS the 0.5 computer USB, so, adb over wireless is invaluable (and the adb over network option in CM10 isn't working yet anyway)
XDA -- I always go straight to the "Participated" threads tab; wish it did that automatically.
Beautiful Widgets -- best looking homescreen clock & weather with temperature in notification bar
ConnectBot -- so I can SSH into my various linux servers, and into my linux desktop (mainly to grep my encrypted username/password lists... I need to switch to lastpass or somethign one of these days...)
ChargeBright -- This is my own app that I use to automatically set display timeout & brightness to 100% when charging, and revert to auto when on battery. I use this rather than Tasker, because I don't need any of Tasker's other bloat.
Media:
DicePlayer -- DicePlayer has been my favorite video player for a long time now, mainly because it's the only one that can directly play video off of Windoze networks shares (CifsManager app mounting not needed), but, ... DicePlayer was recently forced to gimp their app because of patent/licensing threats, so I think I'm liking MX Player better now. In transition atm.
Games:
Wordfeud -- challenge "zcat" to a game!
Live Hold'em Poker Pro
iMobsters, WorldWar, ...
And... that's it. The core apps.
Nova launcher
Astrid to do lists
Tasker
Nfc task launcher
Chrome
Xda premium
Stickmount (use to mount usb drives)
Google wallet
Marine weather by bluefin
Wind predict ( I sail if your not a boater these last 2 won't help but if you are they are awesome)
That covers my most used aps
lots of good stuff. I use ad free and now im installing adaway to see the difference. im also using nova instead of stock, but im running cm10 and it just that much better.
anyone know of a good task manager... not a task killer but something thatll clear up my memory with a one button click. im using speed boost at the moment but it doesnt look like its really managing my tasks when i ask it to kill some.
A video player combo that's worked on my Asus Transformer OG and now my S3 is:
stock player
mx player
rock player lite
Only combo that seems to do Trainsignal training .avi files properly.
Chrome
Cloudskipper - free music player w/ lock screen controls
World newspaper - sweet app!!
Google drive
Nova launcher

Pocket: great way to "bookmark" sites and probably the most popular "read it later" app (PC, iOS, Flipboard, Dolphin, etc. all support it)
Any.Do: Clean and simple to-do app; wish it had desktop support besides Chrome, though (and, on missed calls, can set up auto-task if you want)
OpenMBTA: if you use public transit in Boston, you need this.
Yelp: what the yellow pages should've been: any sort of business or location with reviews + tips + great search filters (open now, distance, price, etc.)...and has a "monocle mode": basically virtual reality overlay of businesses by pointing your phone in a direction
Google Goggles: QR + Barcode + life scanner (seriously...scan anything and it finds relevant info about)
SoundHound: comes with a great 1x1 widget that, when tapped, starts immediately recording/identifying playing song
DialerEx: beautiful, beautiful Dialer that opens to keypad instantly. I use the Black ICS theme. Also, can rotate.
Boat Browser: only modern browser that supports automatic text reflow in regular browsing (thus better than Dolphin, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, ICS+, etc.)
XDA: duh.
SleepBot: great app to track your sleep and sleep debt.
Visual Voicemail for AT&T: nice app that works like it should
Llama: great free version of Tasker that uses cell towers instead of GPS (pros and cons to that, tho)
Onavo Count/Extend: track data usage and automatically compresses everything (great data saver)
Flipboard: simple to use and beautiful news app
Fontomizer: use new fonts, free, no root, a decent selection, too!
Lemon.com: track your receipts, take pics, auto-OCR and organize: legggit
Lux: adjust brightness, go "below" 0%, make your own auto-adjust tables, persistent notification is next-best to toggle to change
SyncMyPix: free FB-photo syncer...can do "fuzzy" contacts (last name or first name slightly different)

Must have APPS for WEAR on Sony SWR50

I want to make a list with nice apps for our Sony Smartwatch 3.
Which apps are you using?
Give us some good apps, why they are great/better and if possible with their links! Please read and don't post doubles.
My List for now:
APPS:
Wear Mini Launcher
Need to have this one for starting apps the easy way. Also handy for finding your phone and quickly change watch brightness.
Runkeeper
Run Sports Tracker, compatible with Google Fit
Task Manager
See whats happening and force close apps..
Wear Battery Stats
Wear Battery Stats, monitor your Android Wear device battery life and when an app is installed, updated or uninstalled.
Evernote for Android Wear
Take notes and sync them with your computer
Flashlight for Wear
Sort of light..
Sleep as Android (PAID)
Sleep tracker with wear support.
Multi Calculator
Wear Internet Browser
IFTTT
For doing many things, like turn my Philips Hue Lights On from the watch.
Google Fit
Steps and movement Tracker compatible with Runkeeper
Google Maps
Calendar for Android Wear (PAID)
Very nice calendar app! Add appointment with keyboard or voice. Change time of appointments and more.
Facer (PAID)
Nice app to make watchfaces, many free watchfaces available (including mine!) Another similar app is called "Watchmaker"..
Sony Walkman App
Musicplayer compatible to sync music offline to the watch.
tinyCam Monitor Pro (PAID)
Lets you "send" a camera feed to your watch so you can watch it there.
Ghostracer Beta
Very nice running app for standalone watch support. Use Bluetooth smart HRM monitors and listen to music with the Walkman app at the same time.. Many features and upload possibilities to Strava and other running apps (in future). Join this LINK for BETA.
PixtoCam
Camera remote tool. Kinda handy for making stop motion video's with your phone!
Hue Control
For now a good app to control the Philips Hue lamps from the watch.
Sony TrackID
Track the name of a song with the watch's mic.
GAMES:
Sheep Shield
Funny game for a couple minutes..
Birdy Wear
Another Flappy Bird rip off.
BiDot
Very nice little ball game. Played it for a while..
* Calendar for Android Wear (PAID)
Very nice calendar app! Add appointment with keyboard or voice. Change time of appointments and more.
I took a chance, only a few downloads but ok I will see

I have not used this app very long, but it has worked great so far to allow me to easily lower the brightness below the normal settings. This will be great at night. I went ahead and purchased it for a dollar from the play store to support the developer, but the developer is offering it for a free trial right now thru 12/21/14.

Thanks! I like the idea but at my watch it looks like a black/brown layer on top instead of adjusting the brightness. For example with "wear mini launcher" you can adjust the brightness below the normal settings. Only thing is when screen turns off and on again, brightness setting is to default again... <br />
Your app holds its settings, so that's a good workaround for now.<br/>
Check this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pixtogram.wear.zicam. For me is the best taking photos on Sony SW3
Does anyone know how to activate the Android Wear channel in ITTT? I can't seem to figure it out, tried opening ITTT on the watch, tells me to use the phone and then the phone has no obvious place to enable it (well other than the activate android wear channel--but that doesn't work haha)
Does anyone know how to make a negative watch face when the watch is "resting"? What I mean is, when the watch goes into rest mode and you see the e-ink display of the watch face, it would be nice to have that in a negative tone. You'd be able to see it better.
I use Facer and have different displays depending on whether the watch is active or idle. Active has full digital information, idle just shows hands. I assume something like what you are after may be possible.
Just to add;
Ghostracer Beta (GPS, Bluetooth HRM support, Syncs with Strava and all others that sync with Strava (my fitness pal, runkeeper etc.)) -- Works by itself! No phone required.
Walkman App beta (Lets you transfer Mp3s to your device that aren't through Play Music. Does it via Playlists rather than "everything" like Google Play Music.) -- Listen directly from your watch to bluetooth headsets! Great for listening with leaving your phone at home on runs/walks.
Tinycam Monitor (PRO) -- Paid -- Lets you "send" a camera feed to your watch so you can watch it there.
Wear Calendar -- I like this calendar above the rest currently out there
At work -- Useful time keeping wear app to check in and out of work to manage your timecard
Flopsy Droid -- Flappy bird rip off because why not??? This app actually makes a lot of sense for a wear device.

I have used Facer for this with my home made Casio watchface ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2956934
Watchface for Facer, Casio White ). I prefer the new white, with digital big clock in ambient mode...
At the moment I'm trying the "Watchmaker" app with the same Casio face. It has more options to tweak...
Will update this section soon with all of our new "must have apps"..
I'm really enjoying the Walkman app that imnoob55 mentioned in his post above. I found it at this link ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2728110 ) and it's working flawlessly on my Note 2 paired with my Sony Smartwatch 3.
Good afternoon friends, how I can do for my SWR50 vibrate with WhatsApp notification, someone can help me with this?? Really I'll appreciate your help!

Added some apps to the first post. Also thanks to you guys!
Is somebody using Watchmaker ? I can't get it to work properly, it seems that there is some sort of lag with the minute while in ambient mode. Facer is working fine but Watchmaker has weather icons out of the box.

I converted my watchface made in Facer to a Watchmaker face, but had a batterydrain and some other issues. Maybe it's just me but at the moment I'll stay with Facer. I actually like the variety of features from Watchmaker though..

I use Facer too, but now I have the same problem since the last update. The minutes are always 1 minute late and update when I wake up the watch.

Out of curiosity, how did you disable those apps?
I don't have a Motorola phone yet, but the general directions for Android are as follows. - Go into settings, then applications, then click on the app. On the side you will see a selector to disable the app.
I just disabled DT ignite and anything red or that has "Verizon" in the name.
Just wanted to say thanks for adding this.

lol yea it's stable. I've been doing this for last 4-5 gens of Motorola phones. Droid Turbo, Maxx, Maxx HD, Droid X.. There are other services that I'm not disabling which would cause the phone to become unstable, like certain google framework services etc.
That's quite a list. Thanks for sharing it!

Nice list. It helped me greatly going through and disabling some of the apps I know I will never, ever use.
I only have one problem now. I do enjoy using the Google search bar and Google Now and the widget disappeared from the home screen even though it's set to always be on. I tried adding it using the add widget feature and it simply shows "Error Loading Widget".
Funny thing though, if I Press the menu button to see my open app the search bar is there and 100% functional. For some reason it only fails to function on the launcher. Any suggestions?
EDIT: Nevermind, I don't believe it was any one of the apps that was disabled. A simple reboot brought it back and functional.

After doing this I found that my phone's internet connection is much, much slower not only on WiFi but when using data as well. I've reset it many times with no luck of fixing the problem.

Yes, The only one i actually use is "Approach" which activates the dimmed display clock and notification icons.
This list mentions disabling the Inductive charger app, but you can still charge wirelessly. How is this possible? The app just isnt used? Googling gets me either no results or a massive unrelated flood.

Best Android Wear apps for our Huawei

I was wondering which apps are really recommended to install when starting using the watch (or Android wear watch in general)
e.g. sleep as android or remote camera
and is there an app like flux or screen filter for smartwatches (to dim the screen for dark areas cause brightness 1 is still too bright)
No one that can recommend cool Android Wear apps?
Always On watch, PDF reader, Weareal, Wear edge controls...
Feel the Wear
If you have a Logitech Harmony, I recommend Harmony Wear.

no, don't have one
flux and sleep as android both have plugins that work with the watch
i have both of them paid versions
f.lux controls your watch screen as well as your phones
and sleep as android monitors your movement and heart rate etc when you wear the watch to sleep. (i charge it in the morning as soon as i wake up, and its at 100% before i am (shower food etc) )

Id love to know, why, when I click either one of those links, and see the play store, and I click to see which of my devices are compatible with the apps, both apps tell me that my Huawei Watch is incompatible, theres an X next to my watch in the device compatibility list (and a checkmark next to my Note 5)

One reason could be if you're on the Developer Preview. If so, you have to install directly on the watch with the watch's Play Store.
Bought an Android!! Good luck for anyone else in my shoes. Thanks apple for me going to the other side.
Make a watch with a real clock faces and a phone that works with other watch's.
-----------------------
I have an Iphone and no Android. I have ADB working right now and like to side load some faces but they all have a .watch file. Can I put the application of Facer or WatchMaker on the watch and then adb a .watch file? Need a way to make this work and I know there are a-lot of smart Tech Cats out there!! Please Help
Cant find any .APK of nice watch faces or even Rolex Mov and others!
1. Install watchmaker from the playstore on your smartphone.
2. Go to https://plus.google.com/communities/106982503578105386202
3. Find a watchface you like, then download it or send it to your dropbox. (I use dropbox myself)
4. Download the .watch file to your smartphone. (I use export from Dropbox to Downloads folder on my Nexus)
5. Open watchmaker and use the "import" button on the top-right of the app and browse to where you saved the .watch file
That's it. Now you can use the watchface by clicking "Set Watchface".
^good stuff!
Best apps I use:
2048
Bees Recorder
Browser
File Boss
Find My Phone
Heart Trace. THE BEST APP IN THE UNIVERSE
Photos
Pocket Casts
Shazam
TypeIt Wear SMS
Yeah, to stay ontopic, here's my top favorites as of now:
Yatse (if you have a Kodi mediaplayer, you can use your watch as a remote and browse your media)
Domoticz (I use Domoticz as a home automation tool on a Raspberry and this app enables me to switch lights, heating, etc.)
Endomondo (for heartrate monitoring during workouts, but Fitbit is more accurate)
Spotify (I own BT wireless headphones and with this, I'm able to control my Spotify from my wrist instead of taking my phone out of my pocket)
I would recommend Coffee SMS for Android wear. However, I uninstalled it because it does not show group SMS. If they update it to show group SMS, then I will get it agian.
A Must Have!
SmartWear Dev
Automagic (the best one so far)
I've developed a flow that my mobile change to silent mode when I open the Theather Mode on my watch.
I also use another flows, start and stop a record on my mobile, make a call... and so on.
