B634 much better than B510, B511, B512, B513. - Huawei Ascend P6, Mate

After pass through all KK versions availables, my conclusion is that the B634 is the best version in performance, battery consumption, etc..
My method has been the installation through local dload and local upgrade option.
Immediatly after installation, do a "factory data restoration" to guaranty a clear implementacion (radioFM its there).
Before installing my applications,
Disable all applications preinstalled that you do not use use, not forgetting Google apps those are particularly resource-intensive consum.
With Protected Apps option disable all of them, except Whatsapp.
With networked application option, disable all of them except those you want (browser, mail, whatsapp, ...).
Later install your apps and restrict them access to network and protected as you want.
You only need to be root if you want to hide the name of the carrier from the notification bar.
This is my experience i hope it helps for somebody, as the excellent entries this forum has helped me to understand this crazy and funny terminal.

+ as you say
- after B634 the P6 is for all Time a Turkey Phone (see /data/custum.bin after downgrade to other rom)

It is true, I forget to say in my previous post that ONLY INSTALL THE FIRST UPDATE FILE !!!
It seems according is indicated in another post that the second file contains something not so good ...
Luckily I have only installed the first update file ....

This firmware is much better than all of the other ones i have tried.
Much smoother.
I flashed the part 1 and part 2 and then i read the post about the fact that it changed it from Europe to something else "vodafone/trso" I flashed the file from the other post Vendor Westeuropa_for B51x.zip which puts it back to standard European branding.
The only minor issue I have is that the boot animation is the stock "Android" but I don't care that much.
All fine so far.....

I flashed the first part.. start up logo , theme is the same as from previous. Radio etc works as before.. only the now it is B634. Cannot feel any special change. I think the best ROM which has GPS fix was from the B511. This is okay'ish like B513

i also did same thing,,, but carefully observe the battery consumed by cell standby...before it's take 4% per 7 HOURS,,,now it's take 4% per 1HOUR,,,,

Part2 have included and write a new batt.img. i have not found a Huawei original batt.img to recover it with my patch.
But, i`m now back to B512 with my patch and Batterydrain in Deepsleep(3G and Wifi on)) is 0,5%/h.

The battery life for me (still early days) seems to be ok, I even managed to improve it by turning off "Always-on mobile data" and it reduced the battery usage a lot.(and I still seem to get push messages etc)

Absolutely fantastic.

Have you tried the latest release of the ROM
I have that problem on an older version of the ROM, but you do not need to hard reset - it takes a few boot attempts, but removing the battery and rebooting and pressing reset and rebooting after a while it does load back into the ROM
Let me know if this problem is in the latest release or an older one as I intend on upgrading to the newest to see if the problem is gone

Yea well I only got the freeze inside of windows a couple times, but I get the welcome screen hang every reboot
Might flash to the new ROM using MTTY and see what happens
BTW - there is a MTTY that does not require all the stupid code this and code that and USB drivers bla bla--- it just runs right from windows and takes one flash using the romupdate utility to complete
just make sure the new rom is sitting on the storage card ready for the new flash as the phone will just stop at the splash boot screen as it now has no OS on it

MEMO
I've been using the Memo Memory and Graphic Tweaked Rom for a few months now. Now using Memo 2.6.2, which works great. There's also been great feedback on bugs through the forum, which have all been removed.
Memo: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649841
And the fast-MTTY (which is called Task 29, the formatting task) also works fine for me, you can find all info in this thread:

Hi before you plan to cook xda ROM . I will recommend you to try out Hong Kong Official ROM, I tried out a lot and compare different Official ROM here is the result :
The PROS that found in the ROM :
1st - Guaranty fast and stable official ROM compare to sea, O2 and also UK ROM
2nd - Receive GPS signal quickly compare to the other ROM
3rd - If u tried SEA ROM u may found out the weather unable to update frequently
4th - Google Maps Integrated inside the ROM .. which SEA ROM dont have
5th - If you using Chinese words then it is too bad for SEA and other country ROM no integrated so you need to install CE-Star inside .
This is why I recommend u Hong Kong Chinese ROM as it comes with Chinese program . You dunned to install!!
The CONS that found in Hong Kong ROM that is :
1) No WINRAR
2) It would be hard for those people who cant read in Chinese. Although I not really like Chinese ROM but after I tried it . I really satisfy with the ROM .
Give It a Try Download Different Official ROM from Touch Diamond From Various Country Website you will notify which 1 suit you the best.
You may consider the above options that I given and try it =) you may saw a huge differences.
Lastly , I wont recommend some of the ROM that posted in xda
1st - Drain battery tremendously , dry your battery life even faster than official ROM
2nd - Very lag + not as good as what your expectation, cannot reach what you wants sometimes or even worse design
3rd - 3G Video Call not Function In Certain ROM as they want to the ROM even LITE smooth and faster
HONG KONG LATEST OFFICIAL ROM - RUU_Diamond_HKCSL_CHT_2.03.832.2_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.44.25.24_1.08.25.20M1_Ship

[Q] Common problems of cm9, cm10 and cm11 already known?...

Hello,
I detected the following systematic problems of cm9..11
1.) Skype cannot be started at all. It does not even react on a click of its icon. And no error message appears.
2.) the akku load status is shown incorrect during load process. E.g. after 4 hours load it shows 37% instead of true 100% (which is shown after reboot).
3.) The wonderful app 'lgCamera' runs very slow and jerky. This was fine in Android 2.x versions.
4.) the FM radio app for the WFS radio tuner (no internet radio!). How can I find it (and flash it into the system folder as a system app)?
I suppose that everybody can confirm my problems!?...
Are those already known by the development team? Cause I wonder that they are not fixed in ALL CyanogenMod versions yet!
Will there be a chance to expect their fix soon?...
5.) Furtheron I have big compatibility problems when flashing cm9..cm11 ROMs and others. Error message: "cannot load volume /misc. Can't partition non-vfat: /storage (vfat)". For nearly each ROM I have to change the recovery. Currently I change between the following recoverys (one of them allways works):
twrp-2.2.2.0, twrp-2.7.1.0, Phil-Z 6.43.7, cwm-5.0.2.8, cwm-6.0.5.3. Nobody else having that problem?...
Is there any recovery version that can read all 'formats' of zip files?...
Will there be compatibiliy at least at the backup files between all of them?...
Thank you VERY much for a quick help!
1.) not compatible anymore, say Thanks to Skype
2.) This is probably problem with battery not reading voltage correct anymore on charger (happens) for me on all roms even stock. (After 100000 of flashes and almost 3years old down sucked battery
3) ics and up isn't made for this phone, slow downs and other incompatibility can happen.
4) There is a solution called spiritfm(free) Google it, you will find the xda thread.
5) twrp 2.2.2.0 and cwm 5 is working on all ROMs beside newer kk builds (needs recovery compiled with TLS support, newest ones available)
Greetings Kevin
Hallo Kevin,
I am so glad that you answer! Thank you very much!!
to 1.) Yes, I realised meanwhile that Skype 4 ist still running fine. So the reason why the new Skype 5 version does not work on Wildfire S (or even on all CM versions of all devices??) you don't know!?...
to 2.) So this is a general Andrid 4.x problem of Wildfire S device only?... (cause e.g. on Galaxy S4 stock (of my girl-friend) it works fine!...
to 4.) Thank you. I installed this free version '0918fr.apk' but I get the error message (su rights confirmed): "Error: No FM accessible. SU: 0 Fm:BC2 SU:0 Bt:3 Ht:0 Mo:BCU". It does not seem to be compatible although I have read everywhere that it should work. Is this maybe antoo old version? Or what can be the reason?...
to 5.) So I used newer version 'cwm-6.0.5.3' and 'twrp-2.7.1.0', as I mentioned, but then these versions do not support older version than KK. E.g. 'CronMod-INT2EXT+_signed.zip'. This is the problem. Any solution?...
Is TLS ment as 'Thread-local storage'?...
Another short request:
a) Video recording with cm11 on Wildfire S works now without any patch. But if I record a video longer than about 5 seconds and I want to watch it directly after having stopped recording (timeframe about 7 seconds) then the camera app crashes. Can you confirm that on Wildfire S? What can be the reason?...
If Olivier's camera patch will help here as well I have not tested yet...
b) Management of Launcher and App screen is somehow circumstancial or not even possible. This is why the option 'Homescreen' is missing in 'Personalization' ('cm-11-20140816-Nightly') although the related screenshots of cm11 in XDA show this option!! E.g. App icons cannot be sorted alphabetically or cannot be manually moved within the screen. Or the home panel is the most left one instead of the middle one. Etc.
Any reason why the option 'Homescreen' was deleted (in XDA cm11 screenshots for Wildfire S still show it!! S. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735775 )?...
c) CM11 OTA update suggests me 'cm-11.0.0-RC9' as the first in the list. Is this really more actual than the installed 'cm-11-20140816-Nightly' (version 11.0-20140816) ?...
d) In this version the Email system app is missing. Why?
Any zip to flash it anywhere? Or do I have to use one of the market?...
e) No warm reboot option available anymore in cm versions?...
Thanks for your help again, Kevin!
Many greetings, Falk
to 5.) I could solve that problem meanwhile by myself. I downloaded a modified version of cwm 6.0.5.3 here:
http://click.xda-developers.com/api...5.0] - Post #52 - XDA Forum&txt=the new build
But I still do not know what was modified! You?...
6.) you forgot the ever present mobile data bug at least for cm9 and cm10. Which no1 evens bothers to mention

oh, its super present .
It was a "common" problem in cm9, cm10 based roms, at least judging from the various threads dating back to 2013. And as I discovered yesterday its also present in CM11 RC9 for me.
Occurence of the bug is very random and seems to be bound to certain providers which makes it hard to debug/fix i guess.
Sadly, from what I've read "deal with it and toggle airplane mode when you need mobile data" or "install cm7" are the ways to handle this bug.
cheers

What is the best possible way to update a LG Optimus G Pro F240L to Lollipop?

Hi everybody,
I am a new member here. I am from India.
First off, I admit that I know nothing about custom ROM and flashing (You can call me an idiot)
I have been using a LG Optimus G Pro F240L (Rooted and Unlocked) for past 1 & Half years.. I want to update it with Lollipop in the best and safest possible way. ..and I want LG's stock features too (Stock android apps are not that great. For example, dialer, contacts, messenger, alarm clock are far better in LG's stock apps). Some people say to use LG's stock Lollipop ROM ......while some say to use a ROM based on LG's Stock ROM. I don't know what's the difference among the two.
Detailed description About My Phone
Phone Type: It came as Rooted and Unlocked. I want to upgrade it from Jellybean (4.1.2) to Lollipop
My Location: India
GSM network being used: Vodafone India
I am not allowed to post external link as I am a new member here. So I can't upload screenshots to make it more understandable with my phone's specifications. Please tell me your email address and I will send them.
After you're done checking out all those screenshots, please guide me through a step-by-step process. I don't want to get screwed
A whole lot of thanks that you gave it some of your precious time
You could try flashing the Lollipop KDZ using the LG Flash Tool like I did. I should warn you, though. Lollipop can't be rooted.
Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/opt...ficial-lollipop-5-0-1-kdzs-f240k-l-s-t3042330
Nobody ?
Nobody there to help me? :crying:
Thanks that you replied. I have a few questions.

Thanks that you replied. I have a few questions.
Is it for any LG G Pro F240L? I thought factors like "CPU version" and all are also to be taken into account to locate a suitable ROM.
Will that work in Indian basebands after update? I mean, do I have to encounter any signal drop out in Indian network?
What about the UI and apps in this update? Did you get LG's stock apps? Or its just stock android Lollipop version?
What did you mean when you said "Lollipop can't be rooted"? Did you mean any phone running a lollipop version of android can't be rooted at all? OR, it's the issue with this Lollipop ROM only?
How is the experience after this update? Anything bad happened so far? How is battery backup?
Can you please give me your mail ID so I can send you some screenshots? I think you can guide me better if you see them.

1. Just download kdz file for F240L.
2. It should work in India.
3. You will have all LG's apps and also many korean apps.
4. Some users said it could be rooted. Just try kingroot, iroot, vroot,...( I haven't tested on my F240L)
5. The battery life is average, about 3h30' -4h on-screen, not as good as kitkat.

1. I don't think it matters, I have the F240L myself, flashed the respective KDZ and the process went smoothly.
2. I'm pretty sure the network signals will stay the same for the most part. I'm from Pakistan and although I could make calls when I wanted, the signals were a bit inconsistent, as in, it would show no signals on rare occasion. Never had this problem with Kitkat.
3. Pretty much what irt118's post said. All the LG apps from the previous version stay, although updated with the nice new Material Design that makes it more appealing to look at and more satisfying to touch. Lots of Korean bloatware and pop-ups like on any previous ROM for this phone.
4. I should have clarified, only this Lollipop ROM can't be rooted. I've tried most of the mentioned methods (One-Click-Root, Kingo Root, KingRoot etc.) only to see that they had failed.
5. The update is in no way a shoddy one, however, it does have its flaws. My number one complain would be that there's no root method for it, ergo, all the Korean pop-ups and apps just jump in your face from time to time. Other than that, it's a bit slower than Kitkat, you just don't get the same smooth experience, the games see a few drop in frames, nothing horrible or too noticeable. It also heats up pretty quickly now. The battery drained very fast when I first updated it, but removing some of the bloatware and using Battery Doctor really changed the battery timing, in fact, this was the least of my bothers.
I'll add that everything else works the same, Wifi, NFC, Bluetooth and the like. The system apps have a very pleasing look to them and some apps also get better functionality. I'd really recommend not upgrading to this if your first priority is rooting the device. Upgrading to Kitkat would prove to be better in the end.

It sounds like "an update in looks at the cost of performance". No I am not going to make my life miserable. Three of your points made my decision. Dimag ki batti jala di aap ne bhai. Salaam and thanks a lot
Is there any better version of it? Or has anybody else come up with anything which doesn't have these drawbacks?
Hi, Im An Lg GPro F240l user from Pakistan, I updated my OS from stock kitkat to stock lollipop and I have successfully rooted my phone through Kingroot PC software, since then my wifi sucks, it will drop after some minutes randomly, specially during video streaming or skype calls, then it will reconnect after 10-20 seconds, secondly wifi speed will suddenly decrease, e.g: it will show a download speed of 10-20 kbps while my other phones will show 500-800 kbps,so clearly lollipop update has done something strange with wifi, Any solution? Anyone?
Second thing Im struggling at is, doing CWM recovery, i tried a lot of things, used Freegee, Used CWM recovery. Apk, but i didn't get success, and i think lollipop update locked the bootloader, so my question is, Can anyone tell me a step by step method of how to do custom recovery on LG G pro F240l with a locked bootloader.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

[deep sleep][root]

After trying many custom ROM, i found out that not every ROM has added deep sleep mode and i have tried many mods, sometimes it works but i encountered a little bit problem, and after doing my research try to understand all the mod means, i came up to conclusion and found out something on a build prop that will totally work on my phone. I'm not a programmer in this particular fields, but my understanding of this is something explainable due to research i made. That's why i want to help very simple thing which is a very useful in saving battery juice when the phone is idle specially at night.,
1. You need to be rooted.
2. backup your build prop. (optional)
3. must have any of the following: root browser, solid explorer or any like this that can able to locate build prop, You can use also kernel Adiutor to modify the build prop without locating on the root.
Added the code to /system/build.prop
Code:
# Power_saving
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=0
pm.sleep_mode=1
ro.config.hw_power_saving=true
ro.ril.sensor.sleep.control=1
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=300
debug.kill_allocating_task=0
reboot after modification.

I tried, but after reboot the phone doesn`t recognize both sim cards. Restarted again - the same story.
Restored original build prop.
All is OK.
It is important where exactly to add the code within the original text obviously.

Well, I used Mi9t for two months and battery life was mostly ok (depends on the Rom), let's say it was adequate for the 4000 mAh capacity, but it was far from outstanding. I swithed back to Mi8 which has comparable battery life, if not better, and btw it's a better phone so...
i used that 2 day . its making battery more bad . normally i have 12 hour screen time with this code i have 9 hour .
i checked again now . when i restart phone buildprob restore default orginal. i tried file explorer and buil prob app google play store nothing help
with this code battery life 6 hour . without this 12 hour . its not help it killing battery i tried 2 diffirent rom

Question Best A13 ROM for Mi 11x

I tried Pixel experience but it was giving me issues. Currently on PixelOS and it is working fine. I have not tried any other ROM as it is hassle to backup, restore and then entering password of apps.... Not sure, but perhaps most of the ROMs does not come with Gcam or ANX. So which is the best A13 ROM for Mi 11x with a working ANX or Gcam?

I run the AMAZING Evo-X 7.4 rom, its solid as a rock and works brilliant for me.
I would suggest to check out the Evo-X thread, you might even find me on there
Now the Pain with switching rom is having to re-install all you apps and loosing their data,
as far as i aware there is no A12/A13 Recovery that backs up the complete phone like the Clockwordmod days.
I use a great program called Migrate-GPE it comes in three parts and is FREE, its available on the App store but i have uploaded the version i use, you need to be ROOTED to use this app.
Migrate-GPE saves most of your apps including their data, excluding Banking and Magisk apps,
I love it as it save all my offline maps, battery stats, ect.
Have fun.

Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, I came across EvoX and yes, also migrate GPE. Will try after listening to more suggestions
I also tried Evolution-X, but it has a major drawback. If you go back to MIUI it gives you the "find device storage corrupted" error. Also makes your device uncertified. I eventually fixed both these but it was a massive pain.

Apparently it does but "find device storage corrupted" error it`s a easy fix as long as you have Twrp Recovery,
As for "Device Uncertified" i might flash MIUI Stock to see if i encounter this issue before return back to EVO-X.
I feel there is no advantage returning to stock due to firmware limitations,
if and when your device needs warranty repair, sending it in with non Miui Firmware installed shouldn`t affect your claim.

Wish I knew that. Can you explain how it's done? I tried flashing persist using twrp but that didn't fix it in my case.
I went back to miui because I was experiencing battery drain on Evo-X. And maybe it's just me but my eyes felt strained on Evo-X for some reason.

Hi,
You could check out my post, it worked for me:
Could someone send a dump of persist partition?
I have the error device is not certified with locked bootloader after reflashing the persist partition when it was corrupted (I took persist.img file from fastboot rom). I think that a dump of persist partition from the other poco f3 may solve...
forum.xda-developers.com
With TWRP/OF Recovery installed download and install TWRP Recovery 3.6.2 12 POCOF3 v6.3 A12-alioth-skkk from recovery,
download and unzip find device storage corrupted your device is unsafe now please note this is for EEA Firmware only.
In TWRP Recovery tap on the "New Persist image from Original Rom" folder and then open Persist.img folder and then from TWRP tap Install Image, select Persist.img and then tap the Persist.img checkbox in TWRP and swipe right,
Reboot,
Job done
I WAS PREVIOUSLY RUNNING EVO-X V7.4,
AS A TEST I JUST INSTALLED STOCK
"Alioth_eea_V12.5.6.0.RKHEUXM_07-09-2021.FASTBOOT-11.0" FIRMWARE OVER THE TOP
AND I DIDN`T GET THE "find device storage corrupted" POP UP

Well i actually switched to crDROID for about a week, while using crDROID and replying to posts on XDA a user pointed out the "Device Storage" issue and portioned the blame at the Evo-X rom, as a test i downgraded from crDROID back to stock "eea_V12.5.6.0.RKHEUXM" firmware and yes i received the "NAG SCREEN"
Using the above method I installed a new Persist.img and the nag screen disappeared.
As their was a rumor still going around blaming Evo-X,
again as a test i downgraded to "eea_V12.5.6.0.RKHEUXM" over the top of Evo-X V7.4 that i`ve been using for a week and the nag screen wasn`t present ,
I the Evo-X rom its AMAZING

1. Does it support turbo charging?
2. How is overall battery life?
3. Which cam application does it use? Basic or something like Gcam or MIUI stock ones?
4. What other issues you have come across?
Thanks
Hi,
1. Fast charging works great, but then i use a QI wireless charging adaptor, check out my post on the Poco F3 thread.
2. My phone last me around 9 hours, as i`m not a massive phone user,
I charge my phone from 45% to 65%, this give me enough charge for a day and generates 0.02 cycles of battery wear, the amazing Evo-X rom has the "Smart Charging" function.
3. Not to Shure about the stock camera as i have three different apps running,
it think it`s org.lineageos.aperture Version code 33.
4. When starting from a clean install Every thing works great, I haven't encountered any FORCE CLOSE issues
5. THIS ROM IS AMAZING, IF IN DOUBT CHECKOUT OUT THE OFFICAL TELEGRAM PAGE,
EVO-X SIMPLY AMAZING

I`ve been playing/experimenting with customs roms for over 10 years starting with the HTC Wildfire, i then moved on to the early Samsungs Pre KNOX and then on to LG phones, i still have my LG G7.
I have seen the evolution of Android over the years and it`s been mind blowing and the quality of Custom rom`s and their Dev`s is outstanding.
I choose to upgraded my G7 as LG unfortunately left the smartphone market and custom roms were getting scarce, so i settled on the F3 because it was easy to unlock, had Great specs and dev support, also being one of the most popular xiaomi phones on XDA helps and it was great value for money.
I have run maybe 6 major roms as my daily driver over the last 13 months that I have owned the F3, I have also tested maybe another 10 - 15 roms out of curiosity.
I have found that EVO-X is the most polished rom that i have come across with all the major feature that most users need and i like to give credit when credit it`s due.
EVO-X 7.4 Simply Amazing

Do u by any chance know of MIUI13 ROM which allow smart unlock feature? I know through custoMIUIzation module i can do it, but i was just wondering if someone has optimized MIUI13 for Mi11x with such features unblocked to save the hassle.
I have installed EVO-X and it is good. But i miss "Themes" feature of MIUI which changes over all skin of the phone with so many options to search for. What i like the most that it changes wallpapers, icon, system setting, lockscreen, colors etc in one go. I tried to find an alternative app and even tried installing MIUI's theme module but to no avail. TBH i am only missing that feature.
bliss Rom allows it, I am on 16.2 build and it's perfect for me. My favorite rom in general is crdroid, but last version of bliss Rom hits all my criterias (hbm, power toggle for torch, really smooth and good battery backup...). It is a pity it lacks visibility here
