Moto 360 Screen Protector Glas. tR-oleophobic_coating #e4e4e4 - Moto 360

So, looks like this is definitely going to happen. Since a watch is something you hang around with a great collision risk, I think I'm going to bet for it. Also 19.99$ is not that much compared to a standard Spigen Glas protector, and the quality is really worth it.
Here is the link, it still redirects to 404 as of 09/06/14, but you can already know they are working on it.
http://www.spigen.com/catalogsearch/result/?order=relevance&dir=desc&q=360

I am bad about scratching up my watch faces. I ordered a Skinomi from Amazon but it doesn't ship until 9/19. It is a wet application but it will allow it to be moved a little during install to get it perfect. I used Skinomi on my Pebble and I liked it. I found some cheaper ones but I figured I would go with a brand that has been around for a bit.

These kind of screen protectors completely take away from the smooth feel and brightness of the screen. Trust me...I have used similar products and currently only use tempered glass screen protectors for my Note 3 and Surface Pro 3 and my family members' S5's, the glass screen protectors are the way to go to really protect our watches.

Yes as long as you buy one that has a rounded edge (taperes downward at the edges so it does not feel sharp). My Spigen Glas.tr for my Note 3 is rounded at the edges.

I'll get getting the Glas.tR version once it comes out but for now I got this one for 4.95 before the price went up

RXMO, I just purchased the one you were talking about. I'm just waiting for it to dry. How did yours turn out?

Depends how thin it is. I don't want something that will be noticeable. 20 dollars seems like a lot, but considering I just blew 20 bucks on a band that I probably wont be using anymore it would have been better spent on a glass SP

I got the Armorshield protector. It seems ok but there are some issues.
When applying the protector do not press down too hard on the squeegee to get all the moisture out. Leave some moisture on there, enough to move it around. When I tried to get it all out it looked like it had ripples all over it. When I left some moisture on it, it looks ok. Then let it dry the full 24 hours. I checked back at around 12 hours and the screen was all grainy. Once I went the full 24 the screen looked fine. One issues I had and I am not sure what happened but there is one spot with either some kind of tear or a strand of fabric somehow on the protector and it make one tiny spot look grainy even after the drying. I tried to reapply a couple of times and it is still there. Trying to get a replacement and it is probably isolated to me. One thing to note is the protector is kind of soft. If you were to poke it with a fingernail you would leave a dent. Over time I think the dent does go away but leaves a small mark there. I don't think my Skinonmi on my Pebble has the same problem, but it could.

Reading reviews on Amazon it seems the Skinomi screen protectors are *wrong* size, e.g. too big. Yikes!
Also, wondering if the skin interferes with BPM sensor or other functionality. The Skinomi screen and skin with brushed steel design looks good.
But, until confirmed the size is correct(ed) I suggest *do* *not* *buy* Skinomi. Anyone try these yet?

I also ordered these. I haven't heard back from ArmorShield on my replacement. I hosed something up with that, I somehow got more fibers from the cloth when I tried to reapply and wash it off. Its on there now for protection but doesn't look great. I have use the type above on phones and much perfer them, but they might be a little harder to line up. At least with the wet ArmorShield application you have time to line it up. I also didn't have any sizing issues with Armorshield.

I'm looking for an all body one. One that's covers the sides as well. But alas I will be waiting months before something like that is out and about

Let me know how they fit, i've been waiting around looking for one.

Got the iLLumishield. It feels ok but the size is just a hair too big. It has a slight lip where it hangs over the screen just by a hair. My ArmorSuit had an exact fit. Waiting for my replacement and these will do in a pinch.

$20 does seem a bit steep for such a small piece of glass. I'm going to wait for the Skinomi Tech Glass to hit the market for the 360, I have it on my Note 3 and really like it. It's thin and unnoticeable. I put a ArmorShield plastic version on the 360 just temporarily. It's okay but it still has that plastic look with some slight irregularities here and there. It seems scratch resistant enough I think the tech glass will be better. I think I paid $17 for note 3 version can imagine the Moto at less than one third the area can be worth more than $10.

Not isolated to you, mine did the same. Looking for an alternative, hopefully tempered glass whenever available.

I just applied the ones from Xtremeguard. The fit is perfect and it applied fine. But it has that classic rubbery feeling like their other screen protectors (and other brands with the same type) always do. It's fine for me. I sort of miss the glass feel but with the price I paid for it i'm okay with the slight compromise.

My experience was just the opposite. My InvisibleShield kept peeling but my dry install screen protector was near perfect. I had the iPhone 3GS before the Atrix so I had a Power Support screen protector.
I just placed an order for Realook. I'll report in when I get it!
From the description, it is very similar to the Martin Fields protector which is slightly thick but strong and difficult to scratch.
I purchase this one early before the Realook was being sold:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004PDHS9Y
It also has good reviews from other Android phones and it comes in 3 pcs/pkg. I'll compare it to the Martin Fields.
i just bought skinomi ones for like 16$ :x
I think the Realook screens are some of the best out there. The surface feel of it is very good albeit not as slick as those anti-glare ones. They aren't the most anti-finger goo, but they're not any worse than any other screen. When the phone is off, and you look at the screen in just the right light and angle (usually 45deg oblique under a fluorescent bulb) you see a very obvious rainbow effect. Not very desirable, but is not visible at any other time so it's okay.
The protection is adequate (never really tested but it works for me). The fit is excellent. Its the regular stick on kind. No touch sensitivity impedance. I've been waiting for the realook one for the Atrix for a while now. Don't understand why it's so hard to just cut plastic sheets...
Best part is that they're not stupidly priced. $10 for 2. Good value.
My room mate got the otterbox case and it came with a screen protector also. I think its one of the best screens I've seen. It seems to be very very anti-finger goo. Gonna look into it.
So I got my Realook cover today so here is a short review:
The packaging came quite professionally and included the standard stuff you would expect from a premium screen protector: microfiber cloth, alcohol wipe for cleaning, and some applicator to aid in putting it on. Each protector was individually wrapped. So good so far.
Now the bad. Both protectors I received were slightly warped; this means that the protector is not very thick. When applied, the warp goes away and does not affect the adhesiveness. What really annoyed me was that they decided to cut out a hole for the front camera; that in itself is not bad, but they decided to cut a U-shape out to the edge of the phone instead of just a circle. This, to me, is laziness or cost-cutting. This cut leaves a part of my screen unprotected. The second issue is that the part around the speaker hole are slightly bent and bubbled, making the protector not stick perfectly on the screen.
See my attached photo for these two issues.
Overall, I would give this protector a 7/10. The protector also shows a rainbow hue when seen from an angle. This doesn't bother me too much, especially when the screen is on, but I expected more. All in all, for $11 bucks for 2, it's not a bad bang for the buck but I'll probably try a SGP. Does anyone have a reveiw for the SGP? Does it cover the camera hole?
the Skinomi has the same outline for the camera.. I think it's standard for our phone..

Trust me when I say cutting the U instead of the circle is better. With the circle, if they just punch it out, it warps the material between the speaker and the camera, and leaves a bubble. iPhone 4 screen protectors are bad for this. The AT&T official screen protectors do this too, and it works fine.
I will be putting mine and the gf's on tonight..

Review: Martin Field's Overlay Screen Protector

I purchased this based on some feedback I had read one some other forums. I have tried nearly every major screen protector out there (Spigen, RearthUSA, Incipio, Switcheasy, BodyGuardz, XO Skins, Best Skins Ever, a ton of cheap ones off Amazon, Zagg, etc.). Up until this point, I had always found the Ultra Crystal from Spigen to be the best overall. Not anymore.
Before I get started I want to mention that the Martin Fields Screen protectors are not cheap. One screen protector for the Galaxy Nexus is $16.99 ($34.99 for one iPad protector and $29.99 for one Nexus 7 protector)and it only comes with one screen protector and a set of instructions. That's it.
One issue I've always found to be a huge problem with these dry, crystal clear screen protectors (Again, think Spigen Ultra Crystal) is that they show fingerprints so easily that it really can become a huge nuisance and to my surprise this one doesn't show much at all. I would say it's nearly as good at resisting fingerprints as a matte finish screen protector.
A very innovative feature this screen protector offers is that it is completely removable. They include a Mylar sheet that you can stick it to if you need to take it off. Just apply a small piece of scotch tape at the bottom corner and slowly pull to remove it. This does bring up the biggest problem that I have with this protector though. It is somewhat brittle. It will crease if you aren't careful with it. In fact, if you look in the pictures I have posted, you'll notice a slight crease in the bottom right corner. I've emailed the seller that I purchased it from on Amazon to see if they'll replace it. Not sure if that'll happen and it isn't all that distracting.
Quick Summary:
PROS:
As clear as any I've ever used
Does not pick up oils like most clear, dry application screen protectors generally do
Feels as close to glass as anything I've ever used
Reusable
Covers entire screen
Comes with a Camera Lens cover as well
CONS:
Not cheap. If you purchase directly from MartinFields.com it is $16.99 + $4.99 shipping. Be aware of fakes on Amazon.
Doesn't come with much. Just a simple paper package, a screen protector and a Mylar sheet to apply it to if you decide to take it off and use it later.
Fragile, it will crease if you aren't careful
Almost too big. If you don't line it up absolutely perfect it will not adhere on the sides, bottom. It's almost cut too perfect to a fault.
Anyway, here are some pictures. I had just ran my palm down the screen to show you just how well this does on hand oils.

I already have one but I will concur with everything you said
Mine creased before I put it on but I was able to bend it back and can't tell you where the crease ever was at this point. Mine is scratched up pretty good at this point but I'm hard on phones so it's not surprising. I've yet to find a screen protector that holds up to my use.
Mind had a crease initially. I contacted their support line in Hong Kong and they had one sent out to me the next day. I ended up buying one for my Nexus 7 and my iPad 3.
It's weird, the Ultra Crystal's and many other dry application protectors leave blue smears when you try to wipe away fingerprints. These don't. They are there but they don't leave that annoying blue greasy smudge.

[Q] Moto X Screen Protectors ?

Hello Folks,
I know there are loads of screen protector threads out there but none of them are recent for the MotoX.
I have had an XtremeGuard Protector on my X for a few months, but the gummyness, orange peel and lack of screen sensitivity is killing me.
What are some good current options that are $15 or under ?
Thanks,
Pete
I'm currently using the SUPCASE Screen protector that came with my case: has everything I need to get it on once and only once(even comes with a lint remover film). Looks and feel great. I don't know what you mean by 'gummyness though, the only screen protector I would describe that has a gummy-like feel(especially when I pinch with my fingernail is the Skinomi brands.

I bought a couple of the Mimeusa.com glass screen protectors, one for my wife and another for myself. Installed mine first, its a little different installing such a stiff protector, luckily i was able to lift it back up easily a couple times to adjust the positioning.
The wifes I installed a couple hours after, and it felt like it gave me more problems. didn't want to get positioned right, but eventually I got it lined up well.
The next day it fell off in her car while she was driving and got covered in dirt and dust on the adhesive side.
Mine is still on, after 2 weeks of use;
The texture is awesome! i hate most screen protectors, but this is glass and feels so good to the touch. you hardly notice its there.
It hasn't taken and scratches, and it does feel like fingerprints are less noticeable than on the bare screen.
I don't have a case of my X yet, ordered a bumper from amazon, but its not here yet.
I feel that the protector gathers small fibers easily at the edge. there are a couple of very small fibers that have worked there way just under the edge of the glass. They are hardly noticeable, especially when the screen is on.
I have not seen any new accumulation since the first few days, so maybe its more prone to catching the fibers in the hours / day after installation. I would advise avoiding pockets for 24 hours after installing this product if you can.
I will probably use this screen protector until it chips/breaks/gets too scratched up, and then go naked screen for the rest of the phones life.
If you are intending to spend $15 for a screen protector, might as well get a tempered glass one. I'm using this one: http://www.amazon.com/i-Blason-Motorola-Ultra-Thin-Tempered-Protector/dp/B00E0CUP18/
If you installed it correctly the first time, it should stay stuck and without any bubbles.

I would just like to throw out my support for Liquid Armor. I use it on all of my touchscreen devices, and have never had a scratch on a screen since, and it feels just like glass, without anything on it. The best part is that the one bottle can be used for several screens. Though if you don't use it in a couple months, the stuff will harden in the nozzle of the bottle, making it more difficult to use.
Edit: figured Id throw in a link. http://www.amazon.com/Dynaflo-LIQUID-ARMOR-Universal-Microfiber-DYN-LA100SP/dp/B007EZ3EM0

Disclaimer: I posted this in a couple other threads, but I wanted to try and post it where I know we've been discussing tempered glass screen protectors.
Here's some pictures of the redesigned i-Blason protector. As you can see, there is now a cutout for the proximity sensor. The corners also fit the Moto X perfectly (their old design fit perfectly too). Very happy I finally have a protector that FITS and where the proximity sensor won't be blocked! I liked the i-Blason until I had started having proximity sensor issues because I had dropped it several times, and it never once cracked, unlike the MIME, which cracked the very first time I dropped it.

i have tempered glass on my moto X ( mimeusa.com/product/moto-x-ghost-glass-screen-protector/ ) since january.
it was very easy to install and the feel is wonderful. my only complaint is that when you drop your phone, it can crack. better a crack on the protector than a scratch on the device, right? my phone has been pretty suicidal lately, what w/ jumping off tables, so it has accumulated many cracks on the protector. i am replacing it (with same ghost glass) and also buying a bumper case ... that may make a difference in the life span of the protector.
this is my first glass protector and yes i like it. on previous devices i used zagg screen protectors and was VERY HAPPY with them, but when i ordered their protector for the moto X, i found that they must have screwed up on the device specs, as the film didn't even cover the entire viewing screen. UNACCEPTABLE! i will not go back to their products.
I had the MIMEUSA and was very happy with the feel of the MIMEUSA, but it didn't fit properly. The corners were too squared and extended over the screen. The edges were also suppose to be beveled to prevent chipping but mine seemed like they were beveled out, leaving a lip on the glass. This all led to the edges chipping and eventually a larger break.
I ordered the i-Blason to try it and am very happy. The fit is perfect, its quite a bit thinner than the MIMEUSA, and it feels just as slick and smooth as the MIMEUSA and the glass screen. I would recommend the i-Blason over the MIMEUSA. And the i-Blason is only $17 on Amazon making it about the same price as the high quality plastic protectors.

+1. The Power Support protectors are very good. Their 15% off right now as well, till March 21st.

Anyone find a tempered glass screen protector that actually fits correctly (no halo)?

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, mods, feel free to move it if it is.
I think I've tried, what seems like, almost EVERY tempered glass screen protector on Amazon (6 or 7 different ones) and every single one has "halo" around the entire screen (doesn't adhere).
Has anyone found one that actually fits? If so, please post a link to it for me
I ruined the, flimsy film, one that came with the phone.... I've ordered something similar to get me by until there is a tempered glass one that actually works.....But if it's like the Moto X Pure, it's been out 10 months now and still doesn't have one that works correctly.

I ordered a case that comes with Tempered Screen protector , Love the Case but dislike the Screen protector doesn't cover the whole screen....
I bought it from here

And kinda looks like the one in the image attachment.
I believe it is too early in the product's life cycle to be able to find a tempered glass screen protector that will fit the Axon 7's curved glass edges.
Those edges are what's giving the issue here.
I'm going to use either a Skinomi protector for now. I've installed them before.

They're based in Germany but handle several very decent brands including Vikuiti which are a still film type protector. I have used those in the past and they're very strong and durable.
Prices range in US dollars from $4.45 to $25.65 incl. shipping for the Axon 7
Here's a glass protector they sell for $6.68 called the BROTECT® AirGlass® Premium Glass Screen Protector for ZTE Axon 7

I believe it is too early in the product's life cycle to be able to find a tempered glass screen protector that will fit the Axon 7's curved glass edges.
Those edges are what's giving the issue here.

I ordered the Brotect Air Glass and received it 2 weeks ago. I removed it within 5 mins. It creates the halo effect around the sides. They say it's Glass but honestly, it just looks and feels like your usual plastic ones that you get on eBay and stuff. I've also tried 3 different Tempered Glass and no luck either. You're right, it's still early. I used Ghost Armor about a month ago to have it custom cut but also ended up removing that too since I couldn't stand the rubbery TPU feel anymore.
Anyone tried those ?
With those gold/black edges, i'm wondering if those parts aren't on the curved sides !

That was one of the 3 I tried. I ordered 1 from Amazon and 1 from Aliexpress thinking they would be different.... Both are the same. Don't bother getting it cuz the adhesive is only on the sides and doesn't even stick properly especially since the sides curve down. It constantly slides around and doesn't even stay center. It doesn't even adhere to any of the glass part either and it's elevated. So when u press down on certain areas, u can actually hear it click. Worst of all, since it's elevated, you lose some of the clarity of the screen too.

I tried two different brands, one was Skinomi, and they're SO exact cut that if you squeegee them too much, it'll stretch them to where they hang over the edges (or maybe they're just made that way). As soon as you put your case on, they'll start peeling off in a few places. Or if you stick it in your pocket a few times, the edges eventually snag on your pocket and start to peel off.
I went with the stiffer, thin plastic ones until I find a good tempered glass one.
You might want to try this one: http://goo.gl/Gu4plV
Might not be the best, but forless then 1$ and free shipping, you might give it a try.
Saw that there where other on Ali too, hope you'll find one !

Have the same problem with my Skinomi. It's annoying the crap out of me

any updates on a tempered glass screen protector with little or no halo effects?
I wouldn't even mind a high quality film protector like the Spigen one that I have on another phone due to the same halo issue... but they don't make one for the Axon 7.
The Axon 7 is like little orphan Annie... nobody wants to make accessories for it.
thanks!
Sadly!! I have used Skinomi, very glittery. Spoiled 2.I can't recommend at all. And bought one in Germany all bull****!!! All don't fit and stick well!!!

I've tried 3 or 4 others, still have the Halo.....I have the one with the black frame around it sitting on my desk at home. It supposedly doesn't "halo", but only adheres around the edges (not the entire screen), so I'm holding off until the one I'm using now starts peeling off more.
On a side note, my sons Galaxy S6 has the exact same issue. I've tried 4 different screen protectors and they all "halo" too. So the Axon 7 has an upper-class, snobby sibling with the same issue :highfive:
I tried the one with the black boarder from Amazon people seem to been having luck with. Sucked. Fell off after about 3 hours. Also had very bad halos, but since boarder was black, you couldn't see them. The screen protector would get caught on my pocket when I tried to put the phone away. And no sticky stuff in the middle, so there were big rainbows on the screen. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone!
I have ordered this one.

I used zagg tempered glass when I had the s6 with no halo

Had the same problem with the note 4. The 2.5d screens or whatever they call it are rather annoying. Took me a few tries to find one i was satisfied with. Looks like thia phone is going to be harder to find since its not as popular as the Samsung name.
Film not glass
I've tried a couple different glass screens with the same result the rest of you have found. Halos and skimpy/poor fit.
This one is a film but so far it's the best I've found. Stays put, covers it all and the edges stay down after a couple hours as it "settles in" :fingers-crossed:

Any update on this protector?

tempered glass screen protectors

Okay. Here it is. We can start the debate soon about which screen protectors actually work on this phone without Halo and bubble issues. It is always an issue with these curved glass screens but there are always 1 or 2 screen protectors that people can get to actually work. Please post which ones you have purchased and how well they worked.
Posting without pictures is not helpful to anyone.
Ordered the ones through Amazon from Mr. Shields and the case/protector from HanhuaTech. The Mr. Shields order gave me 3 and all 3 were nothing but bubbles. Never used their stuff before and highly disappointed. The latter was a nice case, but the screen protector has a black ring around the edges and is impossible to line-up so it doesn't cover the edges of the display area. No bubbles though. Just cut off part of my screen. Still looking. The Otterbox Defender does not include a screen protector.
I tried those Mr shield protectors with my v30 and they were garbage.
The supershieldz worked well with my v30 but the v40 version has that stupid black border which means it only has adhesive at the edges and will have the rainbow effect
Guess we're all screwed for a bit. For what this thing costs, I refuse not to have the tempered glass protector, but they all have the black ring or bubbles. Early adopter blues I guess.
Curved screens, like the V40 (and pretty much every flagship phone) have tend to have poor tempered glass adhesion, in my experience. It seems they all utilize only adhesive along the outer edge, leading them to come unstuck extremely quickly and easily. All of the reviewed models on Amazon, likewise, have this problem. Hopefully a good one will come out for this phone at some point reasonably soon.
I know that T-Mobile tried to sell me an overpriced one when I purchased my phone, though I'm not certain they had any in stock yet. If no models come out that stay stuck pretty well, I will take purchase one of theirs, as they will replace it every time I come in the store.
Be patient and wait for IQ Shield LiQuidSkin, best on the market for curved screens. Available mid Nov.
I quite enjoy the bodyguardz one I got. It's aluminosilicate like gorilla glass and does have the black border, however I've seen 0 rainbowing. Also comes with lifetime replacements which I will probably thoroughly abuse.
I just ordered a set right from their website. It didn't list that it wasn't in stock and ready to ship, so we'll see!
Don't rush! The earlier you get it, the bigger the risk it's not properly tested yet (especially when it comes to curved screens). This early after release, you're the guinea pig...
While I'm waiting for "IQ Shield LiQuidSkin" I ordered "PULEN Screen Protector"... I'll keep you updated!
I ordered the Poetic tempered glass screen protector. Works like a charm. 3 Days and still sticking no problem. No halo, rainbow effect, etc. Absolutely loving it. Fit is amazing and the feel is as good as the original glass, if not slicker. I'm using it with a Ringke Fusion-X case and they work perfectly together. The screen protector is case friendly and the gap between the glass and case is very minimal.

I know PULEN hasn't got very good reviews, but for now, while waiting for LiQuidSkin, it's all good, fits almost perfect. Nothing I recommend though. The black frame covers a faction of the visibility of the screen (left and right side)
But totally OK. Let's see if it falls off before I get my LiQuidSkin?

I was just looking at the poetic glass on Amazon and can't seem to find a good enough review that specifies it the tempered glass fully seals to the device or only seals around the edges of the glass?
Just heard from Whitestone email support that they do not currently plan on producing Dome Glass for the V40... real shame. Maybe some other V40 owners can chime in to pique their interest?
I was also just looking at the Poetic before I came over here, and also wonder if it is in fact full-adhesive. Anyone?

I've been looking at that but but I'm in high doubts it's full adhesive
I just installed the Poetic tempered glass from Amazon and it has a massive rainbow effect. There clearly isn't any adhesive in the middle. Until someone makes a decent one it will have to do.

Dang, it seems so difficult to find good tempered glass screen protectors. Poetic seemed promising but glad you confirmed it is not full adhesive, since so many brands don't specify.

Update!
Amid medium level reviews on Amazon, I have to say I'm surprised this pulen sp is working so well. Some kind of drier than normal glue, covers the whole sp, and if you place it perfectly, it's actually a very nice sp. The black frame slightly covers (1/10 of a mm) of left and right sides, but it really doesn't take away anything, not even the screen off blue notification around the frame. I'm not sure about the physical strength though. I'm a very careful person, never really drop my phone. No rainbow! No dust stuck around the borders. Right now I'm not sure I will order the liQuidSkin? I'm happy with this one
Folks, whitestone dome for LG V40 available for sale @ Amazon :

I'm using Key liquid glass screen protector. I can't stand the film protectors so decided to use this. It's a wipe on application, scratch resistant, 9H superior hardness rating, water proof and anti bacterial. Just clean the screen with the included cleaning wipe than apply the liquid screen protector via the included wipe. Let sit for about 5 minutes and you're set.
