OnePlus One and HDMI - MHL, Slimport, none? - ONE Accessories

Does anyone know if the OPO supports HDMI output either via MHL or SlimPort?
I have a monoprice MHL 2.0 adapter that used to work with my LG phone. Does not seem to work with my OnePlus. I am wondering if it supports SlimPort before I go out and buy one.

Good question

it was confirmed that the oneplus one does not support Mhl or Slim Port, only miracast unfortunately.

****

Still worth it though

what about this?

can someone owns the phone try it?

The Oneplus one does not even have a ir thingy correct?

I asked a tech support about the TV out and screen mirroring and this was his reply
thank you for contacting the Technical Support of ONE PLUS, I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. TV OUT is supported through some 3rd party cables. Screen mirroring is also supported by ONE.
Should you require any further information, Please do let me know

Tried three different MHL adapters. None worked with my 1+1.

I have two MHL adapters from Monoprice, I will try them later tonight when I get home and report back.
I have MHL to HDMI with RCP/CEC Android 4.0+ - Black (http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=108&cp_id=10833&cs_id=1083314&p_id=10022&seq=1&format=2) and this one Micro USB to HDMI® MHL Adapter - Black (http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=108&cp_id=10833&cs_id=1083314&p_id=8675&seq=1&format=2)

I thought it was confirmed that the OPO doesn't even have a MHL enabled connector?

I know it doesn't have MHL, because it doesn't work with mine. I am wondering if it works with Slimport.

Has anyone tried Miracast? http://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B00HFAEBWG
I want to get it but just wondering if anyone tried it.

No TV out in OPO over the USB connector! Only wireless with miracast and rooted with chromecast too

Samsung all share cast works too. Have it on my car for my appradio 3. The only problem is, I havnet figured out how to get out of app radio mode short of pulling the HDMI cable.
Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk

Yes Miracast does work to Chromecast. Im rooted and running that withkut any problems. Still have to test out those MHL adapters.

Today I will receive my One and I will test screen mirroring with Roku 3.

Quick question how do I get what's on my phone to my tv do I use the same cable I used with the 3d or do I use Bluetooth or all play ??

Anyone have a idea on this one?
Sent From My Rooted SG3
You can use a MHL adapter but you have to use the one for the S3...the previous MHL adapters were 5 pin...and i believe the MHL our phone requires is a 13 pin...dont quote me but i think thats the numbers.
If you want to show videos or pictures from the phone to the tv you could use all share or Twonky beam. If you want to mirror what's on the phone then you probably have to buy the wireless dongle.

What about mirror could I use my old mhl one from my 3d or do I need to buy a new one?
Sent From My Rooted SG3
Post #3 you have to use a new one OR get an adapter for your old one.
the new phone is 11pin I believe so the old mhl will work "directly"

The most simple solution in my opinion is go to best buy and buy a blue tooth tv adapter. All you would have to do is set it up and then connect via wifi from your phone.

Microsoft Lumia (Continuum) Dock Works with HTC 10

Lisa from mobiletechreview did a smackdown between the HTC 10 and Samsung S7. In the video review she mentioned she was able to use the Microsoft Lumia (Continuum) Dock to power peripherals, connect HDMI to mirror the screen, and charge the device. This is pretty awesome and surprised many aren't talking about it. The HTC 10 may be the closest android fans get to a true desktop replacement experience (with the dock). If only android allowed running full Chrome, HTC 10 with the dock could be a chromebook/desktop replacement.
http://www.mobiletechreview.com/phones/HTC-10.htm
I will have to test when I get my 10! I have the 950xl currently and have the dock for it. It would be awesome if I could still use it! Is there any software needed installed on the 10 to run it?
This will get a lot more exciting with Android N and multitasking/free moving windows.
Any chance we'll e able to do something with RemixOS in order to get a continuum thing going?

its great to see that the microsoft display dock works with the 10. but is there not a cheaper (and wired) solution than this? id really only be looking to use the HDMI screen mirroring as well as charging the device simultaneously. i havent been able to find anything though.
if this really is the only solution then the $100 will be well spent, but id still prefer something a bit cheaper.

Do you mean something like this:

I've picked up a generic USB-C to HDMI adaptor which I plan to test as soon as my 10 arrives. IF that works, I may take the plunge on a hub.

MS dock can only do 1080p. The HooToo dock can do 4K, and HTC 10 has the ability to do 4K. I would love to see my 4K videos recorded in HTC 10 straight on my 4K TV instead of doing it over wifi through cast.
That alone is 20$ worth for me. So, I would pay 120$ if HooToo works with HTC 10...

That can work but won't simultaneously charge the phone
Guys, any update on the dock? I see I'm not the only person on the planet who already started to think how to utilise fully that usb-c port. Since the review the OP posted suggests that the docking station work, that would mean others should too (most of them at least). Also there are already reports that usb-c to hdmi simple adapters work so I guess that's settled. The only thing I need and would love to is usb-c to hdmi WITH charging, but from what I can tell there is nothing like that on the web. Only usb-c to hdmi without charging. However, those hubs look pretty interesting and that's why I'm coming here as some of you mentioned they were planning to order a hub and check it out. If any of you got it already can you tell me if the charging of the phone works with the hub?
If so, I'm looking into this:
http://www.unitek-products.com/en/product_detail.php?id=430
I already have couple things from Unitek, still working till this day and I know they are solid company.
If anybody's interested I wrote a question to the guys from mobiletech and here is Lisas response:
Hi Lucas,
The Lumia dock did indeed charge the phone. USB-C charging has very exacting specifications, and I can’t say whether Unitek’s would .
best,
Lisa

So she confirmed that the Lumia dock did indeed charge the phone which is great, because it looks most likely that most of those hubs should act very alike. I will probably orded the Unitek hub over the weekend.
Im also very interested in mirroring HTC 10 through theese kind of hubs. The possibility to use it as a "computer" with simultaneous charging, monitor, keyboard and mouse is all I'm looking for. From what I heard it's quite demanding, let's just hope HTC 10 got what it takes to deliver flawless experience!
Just ordered the Unitek hub. Should be at my place sometime during the middle of this week. I'll let you know how it turned out.
Anyone considered one of these? supposedly a drop in replacement on the lumia so using that as a benchmark for compatibility.

Would a OnePlus 3 USB Type-C OTG adapter work for OnePlus 2?

Been trying to get the damn OTG thing to work, but no luck. After a lot of searching around XDA forums, among other places, came to the realisation that only the official OnePlus MicroUSB to Type-C adapter supports OTG. Too bad they don't sell them anymore and I can't find any elsewhere online.
They do sell a newer version for the OP3 on their online store and I was wondering if that would work too. I ask because I've already got a thousand cables and adapters I've tried that didn't work, so I don't wanna drop any more cash on this.
Tried to contact OP support and they didn't really seem to understand what I wanted and just said it would work "because it's USB Type-C". Yeah, so were all the other damn cables I bought.
TL;DR: Would a OnePlus 3 USB Type-C OTG adapter work for OnePlus 2?
UPDATE: Original Xiaomi USB Type-C to Micro USB Adapter works.

My bro had a 1+2, he bought an USB cable Type-C OTH from OnePlus store... he had tried to connect an USB several times, but it doesn't work :'(
OK awesome, so basically stay the f*** away from OP in the future is the lesson here.
Hi there, in my fourth purchase of OTG have purchased a fully compatabile one for my OP2. I am finally able to connect with out any issues. I have purchased it from Indian ebay for ₹68/- only. But works like a champ. The model or company name is MX in caps written on the OTG which is black in colour.
usb otg
When i bought my OnePlus 2 i purchased the microusb otg cable and the microusb to type c adapter and have no issues with it working. it could be a a possible compatibility issue or maybe the rom you're on doesn't support otg.
Hello. I'm from India too. I'm not finding any product branded as MX. I would really appreciate if you can share the link form where you bought it.
Thanks in advance

Depends on your CPU. If you have Exynos, (2015,) MHL is supported.
If you have SD652, (2016,) MHL or any type of TV out isn't supported. From your model number, my guess is that you have SD652.

How to connect to a HDMI projector/screen? What adaptors/leads required?

Hi i'm having problems finding an adaptor or lead (or both) that i can use to connect my Xioami A2 lite to a standard HDMI port. Are there any adaptors that are definitely compatible? Thanks

Only you can use Miracast hdmi dongle which is wireless.

You can use 3rd party Phone screen mirroring to pc Apps. But they are not great :/ lower resulation and tons of lags
This is the tutorial, but you need HDMI supported projector
