[Q] which app does the pop up in notification page when headphones are plugged in? - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recently rooted my tab and while following a list of bloatware to freeze, I have frozen this app that I'm unsure of the name that I actually make use of this feature.
It's the one when headphones are plugged in, the apps that associated with headphones will be shown in the notification page.
Anyone know which is it?

Have you tried going to settings/display/notification panel and activate or turn on recommended apps?

[App] Power Switch - screen off by closing case

Guys, im the developer of Power Switch, an app that switches off your tablet's screen when you shut the case.
The main thread can be found here:

Ive had reports of problems with the thrive's light sensor, so would appreciate some debugging feedback.
You can use the lite version to test, it has all the features, but just wont save as much juice.
Thanks in advance. Feel free to reply here or in the main thread, i read both regularly!

Working great! I think the timing delay is becuase it's not registered.
But shut the screen off everytime, no issues. Havent had any issues with it waking up.
This app has no effect on the wake trigger. You will still have to use the power button.

Oh I understand that. I was just commenting for debugging purposes that it's not afftecting that state, where as others I have seen do..
Add option to Beep when it shuts down screen?
Yes, im working on that. Need some cool sounds so you can choose your own
If anyone knows where to find some appropriate, free for commercial use sounds, i would be in their debt.
Any suggestions?

Playing a random sound file

Hi, this is hard to describe with out the sound file, but basically my phone when turning on plays a sound at random, it lasts for about 1sec and has 4 syllables if you get my meaning a bit like 1 ...2-3-4 or Do De-dah-Do (this isn't a silly post I promise XD)
At first I thought it was a few programs I installed, someone told me it could the the THD pinball game, un-installed that but it is still there.
Has anyone else encountered a "similar" issue? It interrupts some programs or games and is very annoying and its beinging to drive me insane; at one point I thought it was malware or a virus so I McAfee scanned it in case (maybe there are other better alts but please suggest).
Oh, I will also add when this happens when looking at desktop the top menu bar sometimes goes green.
Any ideas? Please save my sanity.
kind regards
EDIT: Posting here too as not sure if Q & A or General
Hello, don't know if it will help but green flashing bar looks like a phone call notification ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1674783
I remembered to hear some strange sound and i recognized your Do De-dah-Do
but can't remember how i solved the problem ... or even if it solved itself ... sorry.
Instead of "random" you wanted to say "sporadic". Sound is still the same "tone" ?

Hi, yes I would probably say more sporadic than anything else and yes this sound is always the same, I never notice this in call though so I have no idea which app is trying to notify me; its notifying me to uninstall it when I find out what it is!

By turning on, do you mean unlock the device or turn it on after being turned fully off?

When I unlock the device, so its already on and then the sound at "some" point will start maybe 2-3 times then stop. Its so random I cant even pin point it. When in opera, desktop and other apps this sound will appear and cause mayhem.

After installing "addons detecto"r and "Air push detector" I still cant determine what this sound is.
Silly question... Do you have the Zelda Gate of Time Live Wallpaper installed?
I found that certain motions with my handset made the phone do the 'get item' jingle...

Yep, had a look, cant really see anything. The randomness is the problem here; hence why its hard to isolate it...

Yeah, it's strange. I know it'll take awhile but it might be a good idea to look at any/all recently installed Apps and look at their Permissions. See if any of them say anything about making alerts, then force close them if they do and see if the issue persists.

Does it by any chance happen when your phone is sitting over your wallet?
I was getting the same sound randomly and drove me nuts. Then realized that it's the NFC kicking in when the phone is near my "blink" chipped credit card.
i'm sure i read a post exactly like this and it turned out it was nfc, make sure it's turned off and see if it continues.
Nfc or perhaps the roaming sound is on?

Sorry for late reply and thank you so much for your input.
Yes people, it is the NFC! The phone resides in a wallet and my works id card on the other side. When I read the phone I fold the cover over and hence this sound. Do I feel stupid? Yes 100% I only hope that maybe some people can learn from my inherent stupidity and thus the madness that was slowly but surely setting in.

Manually block headset

Hi everyone,
I've been looking for a fix to my phone for weeks now, even got the 3.5mm jack changed, but can't find a fix. The problem: I plug an ordinary pair of headphones into my phone (no mic, no headset controls) and the phone thinks it's a headset with all the bells and whistles I said it doesn't have. As soon as something knocks the jack plugged in, it senses a headset-button-press and either starts/stops/skips music, or activates Google voice search. My phone is running android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean (Pacman). I've tried all apps (HeadsetBlocker, Toggleheadset2, SoundAbout) designed to handle this problem, without succes, that's why I'm looking for a manual way of disabling the controls. Isn't it possible to just remove a line of code from the system, or add a line to block the flipping thing? I don't even mind if it were a permanent irreversable fix, just someone please help! I've been musicless because of this for 3 months now. :' (
Problem remains
Lots of experts around then... -.- Does anyone know what the app - called Headset Blocker - actually does regarding the system? Or does anyone know how I could find out for myself what the app tries to do? I'm thinking of smth like an "app logcat", if such exists... All help appreciated, thanks in advance!

I am also interested in this issue. I have a Galaxy SIII with 4.1.2 and accidentally, it got wet around 2 months ago. The problem is that it detects no real headset plugs, not allowing using the MIC and internal speaker, unless using a real headset. My aim is to disable the "headset plug", but no luck with all the apps you mention. I have read that there are an issue with ICS versiones, but I would like to find a solution.
Install "disable autoplay" from play store. It kills the autoplay caused by headset.

It's just a icon for me, doesn't work.
Also, deleting /system/usr/keylayout/AVRCP.kl and /system/usr/keylayout/h2w_headset.kl doesn't work, too.

i may be wrong but i believe this is used by any app that uses audio. is this issue new? is there an app/game you're using thats perhaps not closing properly? this could leave the audio_out2 running in the background, as you're seeing.

i would power down the phone, boot it back up and monitor it over the next 24 hours. see if it was a one-time thing, if it starts on its own, or at least you might find out what app triggers it based on when it started again and what app you most recently used
Having the touch sound on can trigger this as well.
i will try disabling touch sounds, reboot and monitor. thx for the advice guys
update: only ten minutes after reboot w/ touch and dialpad sound off the audiout_2 wl DRASTICALLY decreased. kinda sux not having them on BUT a small price to pay to save battery. thx guys
update#2..24 hours later.. keypad and touch sounds still off..audio_out2 wl still runnin away:/

Yep. I have noticed this as well. It tends to go up anytime anything uses the speaker...henceforth makes a sound.
I'm wondering if this is "normal"..?

What wouldn't be normal is if you didn't play music or have touch sound on and it has like a hour of wakelocks.

Boomsound notification randomly coming up for a few seconds

At times when I am using my phone I notice that the boomsound notification comes in the status bar for a few seconds and then disappears. No sound is produced st the time of the notification. Does anyone know why this would happen? Thanks.

This usually happens for me when browsing certain sites. My guess is that something on that page is detected as media with audio and triggers the boomsound notification

You could also block that notification from popping up (when it's there, from the pulldown notification panel long-press the boomsound notification). But that only gave me partial success, since it still pops up once in a while.

Haha that'll block all system notifications AFAIK. The notification does not bother me actually. It'd just that I wanted to know if anyone knew why it would pop up randomly. Felt strange.
