were they "Deleted" after you rooted as thats normal and you'll probably find a bunch of other stuff not working quite right.

Honestly... No idea how I lost them. Maybe you are right, and the rooting process deleted them, but it might also be that, i've deleted them without noticing (it has happened before as well). But if it is from the root, i can't get the calculator running?

Take this LINK to the post of @Mr_Bartek. You'll find the three apks which are lost after the unlock process using HTCDev there. Just reinstall them and you got them back!
PS: don't forget to leave him a thanks

yea i did too just now dont know what is for i thought it was 4.3 but it wasent
Might be a patch don't take it. Or it could be camera related.
Could be a patch to get us up to 4.3 speed. Definitely advised to not take it.

It downloaded to my daughter's phone and it keeps popping up asking to upgrade. Anyone know where the file is located so I can just delete it? Or will flashing a newer rom eliminate it?

Flashing another ROM with built in OTA blocker should work or any ROM but you may get prompted repeatedly if it doesnt have OTAs blocked.

Should be in /cache/ somewhere. I'd move it to sd card so you can upload and help the developers out.

When she gets home I'll see if I can track it down.
I got notified for the update after it automatically downloaded at 11:38AM CST. It downloaded into /cache/fumo/ as OTAPkg.zip, just like the last update.
I have uploaded the file here for whomever would like to take it apart.
I hit check new, and it downloaded it but then nothing happened and it didn't give me the option to apply it. Clicking check new now does nothing. Weird.
EDIT: never mind, it prompted me. I'm installing it now (I don't care about root)

I got it and the only difference I see is the build number. Same Android and sense version. I don't see anything new...
Maybe it's prep for 4.3.

Looks to be an attempt at fixing the camera at night time/low light and a microphone fix of some type.
There's also a new radio and kernel...
New radio !! Can't wait to flash the radio

I am wondering if there is any reason not to go back to stock and take the ota. From what i heard once you are s-off you can always re-root , and the chances of vzw pushing s-on and breaking dev phones are slim to none

LG G4 Need wireless mobile hotspot apk

Hello I am new to this forum.
I haven't found what I am looking for so I'm hoping someone can help me!
I finally got my LG G4 rooted and have been trying to get wifi tether apps to work but no luck. I found today that you can hack into the native WiFi tether app "Mobile Hotspot" but I already deleted it. I've been searching the web for a apk but no luck. Does anyone have one so I can reinstall the app?
Please and Thank you!!!!!!!
You must not have looked very hard, as my thread is just a few posts below yours.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-g4/general/how-to-enable-native-hotspot-unlimited-t3166435
I did read through your post but couldn't try it out because I uninstalled the app. I'm looking for a reinstall file. I couldn't use what you posted to reinstall the mobile hotspot unless I did something completely wrong.

So you want the Original hot spot Files from the LG G4? Not the modified ones that work? If that is correct I can get you a link to the original files. IF you want to use your Mobile hotspot, I recommend using the link that geoff pointed your towards.
ORIGINAL HOTSPOT APK AND ODEX FILE: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5ldCySP56vaeHZ6MFNBYnlWMEE/view?usp=sharing
Just extract it to your /system/app folder.
Thanks for the link.
I was thinking I had to reinstall the original one before I could use the hacked one. Would that be incorrect?
I just redid everything and it all works!!
Thank you guys for the links!

From my understanding, you do not need to the originals. In fact typically you rename them as "xxxxx.xxx.bak" which keeps them on the phone but renders the file useless so the modified ones can be used in their place.
Glad you got it worked out.

No problem, I'm not sure why you want them, but there are here if anyone else comes across a problem and needs them as well.

This is correct. The New files are completely independent of the previous files. You can technically delete them. You shouldn't ever delete them, renaming them is suffice, it's not like this apps take up a huge amount of space.

No, they get renamed so are useless. They are only there if you want to revert back.

Ive searched and found 2 solutions, first being use rootcloak, second being disable supersu in supersu settings. Unfourtunatly none of those work for me and i still get the "unable to verify android verson" error. Anyone have any success with another method? Im running viper 3.5.0

You might not be able to use Android Pay with a custom ROM.
I think that's the deal. I do use it , before google wallet work just fine .
@dratsablive is your phone on a custom ROM??

That's not true , after taking root off , then the app worked , after it work , enable root again and still work , both the root and the Android pay,

It did work for me too, is annoying now , now the phone has to have a lock screen set up. Google Wallet had better . It does look better to the eye though
For now, there is no guaranteed way to maintain both root & use Android Pay. XDA featured an explanation on the portal that was offered by one of Google's security engineers. It's fairly straightforward, if disappointing for anyone who wants both.
Mine stop working after a day ,
I just uninstall it , I was happy cuz it was annoying having the screen lock with a pin or pattern

Yes , for now the phone is on ARHD. I've read an article the apps looks for the build number , and cloak doesn't work at all. Not even with xpose,
I do use it too . Ohh well
I like the new UI looked way more polished than wallet lol
no info/answer on this i have not tried android pay before but good to know all issues for when needed.
has anyone tried dirty flashing a stock rom setting up android pay then dirty flashing back to the wanted rom?
Hello
any 6.0 versions out there with integreated Android PAY ?
I get it to add cards by:
chmod 751 /su/bin
then
renaming xbin_bind folder
As far as working haven't tried it yet
what do you rename to the xbin_bind folder to? doesn't seem to be working for me

Anything but xbin_bind.
I'm wondering about this too. I guess in the meantime I could always get a contactless credit card and superglue it to the back of the phone. To emulate the NFC effect, I could just turn on the torch.

Rooting Marshmallow

Anyone actually done this?! All I seem to be able to do is spend a couple of hours updating (yes, my internet really is that slow) and then breaking the phone.
On the plus side, I can now do pretty much everything without changing the language so at least I've learned something eh?! :-S

I followed the procedure that "mrquyen1993" wrote and ROOT worked.
My mistake was that I was using latest SU and I had "permanent reboot problem", when I used SU 2.65 as she says, all started to work.
I find very important that she didn't flash BOA.img into phone just booted into it, so there was no need to re-flash boot partition.
Thanks mrquyen1993 !

Question Any progress on rooting without breaking camera?

I really want to be able to do full backups of my phone, but losing the camera is obviously a no go. I assumed that a work around would be found by now, but can't find any recent discussion.
No.
Nobody could find a way currently, so they're waiting for Android 12.

That's been deprecated with Android 12. And even before thst, many apps prevented adb from backing up their data. The only way I know of to get a full backup is with root.
Honestly, I've yet to find a way to get the data backed up without rooting. Given that almost all my apps either export a file to use as a backup, or I don't actually need a backup. But if you do, you might want to wait for the official update.

No problemo, good luck. I tried and it didn't work so I decided to wait.
future updates from Samsung aren't going to make more
things possible, the trend is that they make less things possible.
