How many times are you going to post the same thing over and over again?
You already made threads for this exact same thing twice that I know of.
[Q] Back to stock for HTC advantage
[Q] HTC advantage ?
And you also made the same post in the AT&T section as well
At&t 2.23.502.3 - 4.4.3 Bootable RUU - No PC required - Mac friendly
Stop spamming the damn boards because you lack the ability to read what people are telling you and/or can't make out a simple step by step procedure.
Just run the damn RUU, lock the phone go back S-ON and don't bother to customize another phone ever again. You're clearly not out to learn anything for yourself.

OP please only create one thread. I'm closing this as you don't need three.

Before you download it make sure CID matches. Otherwise the install will abort.

How to remove bloatware
HI Guys
Ive read through the forum link above all 24 pages and downloaded the relevant Stock Roms, the original from HTC and the Vodafone one. Ive got a little confused reading through all the posts. To flash the original stock rom over my current vodafone branded one what steps exactly do i need to take. People are mentioning the unlock via htc dev in the forums is this required to take it back to the original stock rom. I didnt see any clear steps on how to get this done. Anyone provide any help. Ive flashed my old phone numerous times but at present am a little worried about using the htcdev way. I know the developers are working on s-off is any of this needed for what im trying to do??
Thanks in Advance
Gav
you don't need to unlock to flash an official ROM.
Best way is to grab the RUU file that is correct for your device and flash that way. Its a windows executable you run whilst your phone is connected via fastboot.
edit: that would bring you back to the vodaphone crap. whoops. disregard but yes you don't need S-OFF or unlocked blootloader to flash original rom

Hi Mate
Thanks for this, just a quick question then im currently running 1.26.161.2 (vodafones ROM) and i want to use the original stock one from HTC 1.26.401.2 can i just overwrite vodafones with this one?

I too am a bit of a noob and have a voda branded hox on its way to me. I was under the impression that although we may be able to flash stock htc hox firmware onto the device, we won't be able to it 'properly' because of no proper s off or boot loader..... Or something..... And therefore won't be able to receive any OTA updates afterward....
Or am I talking rubbish and we CAN actually nicely and simply flash stock firmware on and forever after have no issues receiving offiCIAL OTA?
Also gav I don't even know if any stock RUU exist yet...?

Hi Mate
Yes i have the stock and vodafone rom downloaded i got it on here from the developers section. We should be able to install these RUU updates as it doesnt require s-off or to use the htcdev method as least from my understanding.
Sorry to bump this thread, but I'm currently looking for the Original Stock ROM for the HTC One X.
I came across this thread in my search, but the link in the first post is no longer active.
Is there an updated link ?

Mate, first you must know exactly what are you looking for. There are numerous links around here with different versions of stock ROMs.
You need your phone's CID and main version.
Only after that you will search, download and flash the stock ROM that ffits your phone.

I've checked my CID (Using command - fastboot getvar cid)
My CID comes up as : None
I am currently on Revolution HD 7.x ROM and wanted to update to the new 19.x ROM
The problem is when I try updating the hboot, it constantly fails.
I've downloaded the "x.xx.401.x - World Wide English (WWE)" version
A friend of mine has a stock standard One X from Vodafone and JB was just pushed out as an update for her.
I want to try and restore my phone back to the original ROM for that purpose. (also helps in case of warranty)
Have had a look but cant seem to find the original Vodafone ROM anywhere.

This is good news! You need main version also. Then, go and check HERE. There are explanations and files that will help you. Download and flash (as per instructions) nandroid backup that matches your version. Once that finished, you will soon get notification about available update. Accept it, and you will have Vodafone stok JB. After that, do what ever you want with your phone

If it is a true developer edition, you might try backing up, running one of the Developer Edition RUU's to get back to 100% stock, and then see if you can get the OTA update. If this was a conversion, make sure the CID/MID are correct (which requires S-off).

Then why did you state in the thread title and OP "stock"?
InsertCoin is a custom ROM and not stock. So you need to return to a stock ROM to install OTA.

1540 is US Dev Edition, and the OP has Euro DE. The RUU likely will not run with incorrect CID, MID. And not sure this is the stock baseline he would want to be on.

Don't know where you obtained that info, but its false. S-off is not needed to install any ROMs.
If the phone is a demo unit, you should have stated that right away in your top post. On a previous HTC device (One X) I believe the demo unit was very difficult, if not impossible to make fully functioning. But no idea if the same is true for the M8 demo unit you have.

Sounds like you just got some random advice, with an unknown link and flashed it. Why on earth would you do such a thing? Stick to XDA, at least here you can go by reputation (number of thanks, Recongnized Contibutor, or Recognized Dev titles).

As I just said in my last response, you do not need S-off to flash any ROMs. If you want help, you need to start actually paying attention to the help that is being given to you. You are also making it very hard to help you, by not giving enough info, and just leaking it out little by little.
You say you can't flash any other ROMs, but that isn't enough information. What happens when you try to flash? Does it fail with an error message? Or flash successful, but doesn't boot? What other ROMs have you tried?
If you want to return to stock to receive OTAs, you will need to find and flash the appropriate nandroid and stock recovery for our CID. Stock backup collection can be found sticky at the top of the General section. There are also various guides on how to return to stock, if you need them just search.

Hi! Got an M9 from T-Mobile, already S-OFF'ed, rooted, installed latest TWRP and unlocked bootloader, also set CID to BS_US001 and MID to 0PJA11000
Am I ready to run RUU or should I do something else? I want to leave it 100% stock, please let me know the steps I should follow
PS: Sorry for posting in unlocked variant, nobody answered at T-Mobile M9 forum.
Thanks!
Its really easy dude. here go to this thread and follow these steps. http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-one-m9/general/att-developer-edition-ruu-how-to-t3086948
What i did on my tmo m9 was i flashed the previous update before the 5.1 update that came out last week. afterwards, the phone turned on and i checked for the 5.1 update which is around 800MB and it will take like 30 mins for everything to finish so don't assume your phone isn't working. There should be a green bar moving along to let you know how the 5.1 update is going. hope this helps

Just flash the RUU i linked, it will bring the phone back to full stock, you will lose everything on the device so back up what you want to keep.
After its flashed you boot the OS and check in the settings menu for updates, that should bring up the Oreo update
I am trying to do the same thing. I watched the video you linked (thanks), but it is a few years old and doesn't seem to have any links to the RUU for my phone (651). Do you know where the stock RUU for 651 can be found?
I'm on Viper ROM (Nougat-based and discontinued) and would like to revert to stock to get the Oreo updates. If it helps others, the system settings give the incorrect Software Number (they give the Viper number). To get the correct one to identify your phone for the RUU process, you need to boot to download mode. It will there under "OS."

The video is still correct to use otherwise i would not link it here. When you know your correct and complete OS number you can search in the guides section. There are several very hot topics with specific firmwares and ruu's
Appreciate the response. I have the full OS number: 1.80.651.1, but I can't find a complete match. The closest is here, and its 2.51.651.31. Both are Sprint -- is that close enough?

Jup flash it!
So, just to be clear here, does Jup mean either "Just" or "Yes,"?
