Have you tried stump root? This won't brick your phone, just won't work if not compatible.

Says incompatible as its a Chinese version lol

Bump, anyone has any idea on this Chinese phonw? Can't seem to get the common root tools provided to work

Towelroot..works on many devices. Won't hurt to try. Just Google it. Open it and hit button. Its apk. Its fast. If your phone doesn't reboot automatically it worked. Then reboot and check. Let me know.

Stump won't root your G3? I thought it definitely rooted all our G3s. Does it just say it's incompatible? I'd go to the Stump thread and ask there, if that's true I'm sure JCase would like to know if he doesn't already.

Thanks for the posts. Just picked up this bad boy today and wasn't too sure myself.
Root complete. Now on to unlock and flashing recovery. I think I might try the CM mod out tonight!
Not working
I just picked up a LG Optimus G E973 (TELUS), yesterday, and this method isn't working. I followed the Youtube video and still nothing. I've tried it on both my Windows XP and Windows 7 laptops. Both just hang at the "If successful I will tell you ... " shell message.
The only thing that I can think of that might cause this problem is that I received a Software Update last night. My software version is E97310g instead of the E97310f that the Youtube video shows. Are there any other methods that will work or is this it?

As the post right above yours mentions, it's probably due to Telus firmware which was just released last night/this morning.

The only way this is possible is to flash the old stock rom and root that, then use my guide to update OTA. This is what I've done and it works for me.

unfortunately the bootloader isnt unlocked so we cant flash custom roms to the og pro...from other users it seems that that is true of the international versions as well. next time a lil digging might save u the trouble of asking. there is rooting available so u can make some tweaks...at least for the att version. havent looked into weather it would work on other versions, maybe a dev will answer that for u. as for the docomo gui, the simplest answer to that is just install nova launcher or go launcher or some other launcher and use those themes, i used to use go launcher a lot and it has tons of customizations and controls u can tweak.
That current root method should work for all versions of this phone.
Oh
Thanks for your answers,
1) so the versions for the F220K doesn't fit to the L-04e?
2) can someone give me a link to the root method? (i afraid to make mistake...)
3) the docomo is not only gui it takes control also on the Contacts and some of the features that google usually do.
Thanks!

thats the root for this device. again i would advice not to try flashing any roms...so far from whats been discussed in the bootloader unlock forum flashing will either brick ur device or it'll force a factory reset and all u'll do is wipe ur phone. we're almost to the point of being able to flash roms soon tho so give it a lil time. as for docomo pretty much trying to control ur phone, its still a droid, u can install apps to do cover everything pretty much. i rooted mine and loaded a different texting app and got rid of the one included by lg/att. as for contacts u can download different apps to manage contacts and dialers. i had mentioned go launcher before, they also have go contacts that is a customizable contact app, they hae their own text app too...so u dont have to use the docomo provided apps, even if u dont root it

I also tried FeeGee (paid version referenced in the above link) to get get the boot-loader unlocked. That hasn't worked for me. I started to do the more complicated manual version noted at the above link, but it looked like it was going to try to do the same thing and so gave up while I was still ahead.
I hope the bootloader unlock becomes available soon.

Hello,
I have an Asus FonePad 7 (ME175CG, K00Z) Dual SIM Version
Android Version 4.3
Build Number JSS15Q.WW_FonePad-V3.5.2-20140325020154_201312130003
(just so you know the "JSS15Q" is the build number for the Android 4.3 Jellybean release)
As you can see I have the WW or World Wide version and the OP has the TW or Taiwanese (?) version. Either way someone has already rooted devices for both device versions but not necessarily for our newer device.
I'll cut to the chase and say that "botto00", who is also a member of this forum has rooted the (FonePad ME371MG,K004) by getting the RAW image from the ASUS website and preloading the su binaries, busybox and SuperUser apk (stuff that gives superuser permissions) which basically gives you root access. Then the "prerooted" raw image would be installed using "droid bot" which can be accessed by using VOL_UP+POWER.
The latest firmware (RAW image) for our device can be found on the ASUS site here: www(DOT)asus(DOT)com/Tablets_Mobile/ASUS_Fonepad_7_Dual_SIM_ME175CG/HelpDesk_Download/
Change "(DOT)" to actual "."
Select "Android" on the drop down and expand firmware. All that needs to be done after that is to do what botto00 did and preload the stuff that gives us root access then we're good to go.
So without further ado, Hi @botto00 we need your help. Thank you.

Yes, that could be a solution. I have a Fonepad ME175CG too, but it's single-sim (yes, I sure for the reference number). It's a little strange, isn't it ? We could make a petition to force Asus to unlock bootloader. If we can unlock the bootloader in the future, I will make a custom ROM

Okay, if you have the knowledge to know which rom you want on your phone, you should know how to use the search button my friend. I don't want to sound mean, but I'm very tired of babysitting people when this topic is all over the forums and can easily be found within 30 seconds of doing a Google search. You need to learn that the community loves to help people, but only if they can help themselves. And you should read the forum rules and never post anything in the Orginal Android Development sub-thread of the G3 forum because that is for actual development only, not questions, and not to be harsh, but you wont ever have anything to add to that. Also, since you apparently can't even do a simple search, I'll go ahead and warn you to be careful about what roms you flash and only flash ones specifically for the D855. I also ask that you read EVERYTHING on the OP's page before even downloading the rom. That being said, to start getting your phone ready to flash, you need to first root your phone with StumpRoot:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/root-stump-root-lg-g3-sprint-verizon-t2850906
After you have carefully following all of these instructions and you have properly working superuser access with SuperSU installed on your device, then you can proceed to installing a Bump'd version of TWRP for your phone. Once again, make sure you download the correct file for you variant and follow this guide verbatim:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...mp-unlock-lg-g3-twrp-d852-d852g-f400-t2900614
Once that is done, you should download whatever rom it is you want to flash, IF AND ONLY IF IT IS FOR THE D855. I cannot stress enough how important it is that you don't flash a rom for a different variant. Follow all directions on the OP's page and you should be good to go.
Good luck on all this but next time, please learn to search before you start a new thread. This topic is literally all over the forums and is so easy to Google and find out for yourself in no time. If people would just read they could figure out a lot more without having to let others do the thinking for them.

Lol. I said easier to root not "hard"!!!
Even if you do root not many custom roms which is big no no for many. Then the lag and cartoonist ui boy it's a toss up between touchwiz and LG ui which is the worst.
Won't be buying LG nor Samsung anytime soon.

EDIT:
I have a problem with Stump Root, because I see a error: "device is patched, sorry". What do I am?

I have a software from PLUS operator (Poland). I afraid to brick my phone, because It costs around 1700 PLN.
Stump ROOT do not run, because device is patched.
Purple Drake do not run, but I install all drivers and I go step by step guide.
Version of software: V10I-260-01.
What does it mean, the device is patched ?

Purpledrake should work on 10l, many people have said that it does. Strange. The device is patched means LG has blocked stump root from working.

Hello, I was looking through the Android Development section and sadly both the available ROM's were only for the 7 inch version of this tablet, I was wondering if you have planned any development for the 10.1 inch version, I would love to see a CM or custom ROM of Lollipop for this tablet.

Please do not delete thread, it helped me root my verizon tab 10.1. Thanks a lot for the help
The manual root worked for my LG G Pad 10.1 (running lollipop 5.0.2, software V70020a, installed officially through B2CAppSetup):

Hmm, tried this one on LG GPad 8.3 KK 4.4.2, didn't work sadly, it may be that I only have a VM of Windows and there's an issue with mapping COMx to ttyx in VirtualBox that I'm not at all sure how to overcome. Adb finds the device, so it's at least communicating, but when it's time to run the exploit it just stops on the download screen. If anyone knows a good way to figure out which port is "diag" on a linux box (it's easy to *map* it, just difficult to know *what* to map) please do share. I've been searching high and low for a few days, and have learned a lot, just not what I need lol. I'd rather not do a hard install of Windows if I can avoid it, but I'm fresh out of ideas. I was thinking it might be that the software updated to VK70011A from VK700, but judging from the post above this one, that's unlikely(hence the edit). Not giving up just yet, but *any* input would be greatly appreciated.

...ammend that, trashed my partition table trying to move LVs around to do a Windows install, so backed up, and just scrapped the whole thing and started over with a dual boot from scratch. NOW it's rooted right and proper, yay, I can actually use the sd card I dropped $100 on, thanks for the link, worked like a dream.
I rooted with 5.0.2 and DP-Tools. My virus scanner alarmed me, but I guess/hope it is not a real virus.
I do not have LTE, but the DP-Tools is for LG-Devices in general.
Only missing thing is xposed framwork (doesn't run in lollipop)...i would love to remove softkeys in chrome while browsing.
I have yet to get this to work on my VZW 10.1. It hangs during the download screen portion. Any thoughts would be helpful.
TIA.

The single-click root worked on my US Cellular UK410. Thanks!
Interesting. I have a 4G VK700 I just got and Kingroot works fine. There is no reason to swith superuser apps because kingroot provides plenty of features and there's nothing I have been unable to do. I put in T-Mobile APN settings and my 4g signal was on and conected after reboot. I will post my sofware version and kingroot version. I don't know why you would install an update unless it is needed to run something you have been unable to run.
Just FYI most updates these days simply lock you out from or make root more difficult to get. and they often cause hardware issues regardless of wether it is rooted or not.
