Hi guys, I have some curious problem with my Xperia Play. The mic doesn't working with Whatsapp, Shazam and Voice Recorder, but works nicely with calls, voice search, voice texting and film recorder. The sounds are gotten very nice on film recording, in calls, the other person can hear me nice too, and the voice recognition in voice search and voice texting are ok, but, when I record a voice message in Whatsapp, it sounds mute, like I haven't spoken, it sends the audio, but it's mute. Shazam aren't recognizing any music, it even doesn't move the bars and circles according to music beats, it's like no music is playing or the mic level is very low, and the Voice Recorder is the same problem as Whatsapp...
I have searched many threads and forums but doesn't found any help, could this be a kernel problem? Because yesterday I flashed another rom, and the problem still there.

I had the same problem in some/maybe 1 or 2 ROMS with Whatsapp.. I don't use Shazam .. so I don't know.. try and download a Voice Recorder from google playstore and check..
Try going back to stock rom and check.. for Sure ur mic is fine.. its a ROM or Kernel problem for sure..

So, what is the rom you're using actually? Is Whatsapp voice message working correctly?

yes it is.. in some ROM it didn't use to.. but I am currently Using CM7.2 which most of us didn't use much.. and I have debloated it a lot.. whatsapp. and all other programs open soooo quick in it.. its a small ROM ! with all the latest feature like MIUI I believe so.. its available here..

download cm7.2 and delete Boot Animation.. Use the KErnel given in the ROM .. its good enough.. Load the ROM and download Mini Gapps for cm7 and install that.. Debloat as required.. and ur good to go !

I am having microphone issues with CM10 based Roms. Whenever I try to use a voice recorder app, even though what I am trying to record is sufficiently loud, the phone hardly picks it up. The same thing occurs when I try to use voice search. It seems like the phone is using the microphone as if I were on a normal voice call and not on speakerphone. Is there some type of fix for this? I did some research and searching, but I haven't found anything.

I read that they fixed it... try the newest build
please help! I have some issues with my phone
First one is that when calling the sound around me is louder than my voice for the people on the other phone (I tried to cover all the holes of the phone to find out which Speakers are used but can't find out where the speakers are located)
Second when making a video call with whatsapp or facebook messenger the people can't hear me. It's only when making a video call, when making a call without video it's working fine)
Does anyone have the same issues?
I think it's rom based because it worked fine before.
Please let m know if you have the same issues..

I am having an issue with phone microphone only on Whatsapp Call and Video Call. All permits for Whatsapp are given.
Phone Mic works on normal voice all and other apps (such as voice recording, etc)
Things are getting more strange when i try to use headset, i can have a normal conversation on Whatsapp Call and Video Call.
Anyone having similar issue? Please Share if you found the solutions.

I'm writing here because my OP 5T's microphone isn't working in apps that use it, except for phone app, in which it works properly. Doing recs in whatsapp, telegram, and IG results in a rushy noise and even in my guitar tuner app the phone doesn't hear sounds. On the contrary, during calls the other person can perfectly hear me.
I'm on stock Android 10, build number is A510_43_200513. I already tried to wipe cache from recovery, uninstall and reinstall apps and nothing worked. Have you any suggestion for me?

Using any call recording module ?
If yes , uninstall the call recording module and check again.
If no , I am not sure though, my call recording is **** and I can hear is some optimus prime like talking while I record calls . So I read somewhere that it's due to the ok google detection , even though I haven't checked it yet .
So I may recommend you to de activate any ok google detection through sound command and check again .

I don't use call rec module, and I already deactivated all vocal commands in Google etc. The situation has not changed, microphone continues don't working.

Then I have no idea my friend
quite often,when im sending voice messages with my lg g8 T-mobile on messenger or instagram,mic stops recording.
suddenly it stops recording or my voice becomes super muffled or something but when recording videos with camera mic works without problem,calls work fine too,inbuilt voice recorder works fine and same thing when using my bluetooth earphones,its software problem i guess? i already did factory reset and flashed phone but nothing worked. help plz

that problem ONLY occurs when recording voice messages in messenger or instagram,at work sometimes i have to record 30min-1 hour long voices with inbuilt voice recorder and its fine,also videos and calls,idk,can it be facebook bug or something? (since fb messenger and instagram are same company).
