Have you tried the other flash tool? I'm not sure if it will see your phone in the state it is in but if it does it may not require your imei. It can be a pain on win 8 64 but it might work for you http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/general/firmware-t-mobile-lg-g3-t2818667

Is it normal for it to stop at 4% every time?

The only way I can boot up this phone now is to use QPST but I have no instructions nor files(.hex, .qcn, or .mbn) to boot up this phone. I need these files to retrieve my imei and my modem so I CAN BOOT THIS DAMN PHONE

If I replace it, I'm going to be afraid that they can access through my stuff because the last thing before the phone turn off was backing up my stuff on nandroid and that passcode can be bypassed :x

I know you said you can't get into download mode but maybe try this. I made this guide for when I owned an L9. It worked for my G2 as well. Of course use the kdz for our phone.

Lg makes it damn hard to completely brick a phone. I've seen so many people resurrect their phones from some of the dumbest sh!t you could do. There's a way just have to find it. If the phone's recognized by adb then someone could dump the boot, recovery, downloadmode partions and you could flash them back. You can try all the unbricking guides. There is a way to fix these 99% of the time I promise, just don't give up.

He tried that tool already. Well it was a modified version of uptest that doesn't require all of the extra steps. I was doing some reading and it looks like most lg phones are capable of adb turned off in charging mode so that's a fantastic idea you have about adb. I have the full kdz dump I can upload the second I get home.

another "i think i bricked it" thread, please help

I have been running several rooted roms on my gs3 for a while and have been enjoying the phone very much. Today I decided I would switch from cm10 to slim. I booted into twrp and flashed the incorrect rom (I flashed the i9300 and I should have flashed the d2att, though it claimed the flash was successful)
I know that was stupid and I am aware that I should have read more carefully, etc.
So after searching a few threads it looks like I just bricked my phone and will have to send it in.
But just for completion sake, here is what I see.
-The phone will not boot up
-if I plug the phone into my computer I see a device called "qhsusb_dload" under device manager
-if i hold down+home+power when booting up, the phone does not go into download mode
Any help? advice?

I'm very sorry to report that you are bricked...
On a side note, that qhsusb_dload is some type of download we haven't been able to communicate with... Possibly in the future, unbrick methods will surface using that connection... You need Jtag repair...

That's for the I9300, but with the right files, I747 files, and that method, it's probably able to bring it back... Unzip a stock .tar and see if all of those exist...
There's got to be drivers for it, but none that have surfaced... Most likely internal Samsung stuff, and they just click a couple buttons to unbrick...
Try installing QPST version in the IMEI thread, it may install a driver... If it does, you can establish a COM port connection, and POSSIBLY, through methods not been done already bring it back...
And this is all hypothetical....

Nope. This was a problem even at the Nitro HD forums, you got QHSUSB_DLOAD you're screwed. I remember one of us could make a connection, but it was raw RAM write/read; we'd have to locate the exact address for the boot image and system IMG in order to revive it. Better off JTAGging, I think Samsung may do it for free. I know LG did.

LG G3 cannot turn on or enter download/recovery mode

Hey guys ,
I'm new to here. Searched everywhere for this issue but haven't seen any real solutions. Got an LG G3 here. Less than A month old. Owner left it on doing some app updates overnight and she woke up the next morning and it could not be turned on. She dropped it off at a fixit guy who said he tried several firmwares (even the official LG one that he said he had to pay close to 100us for :/ ) and still nothing. She was really pissed as she bought this brand new wth only 14days warranty which is up and it's basically bricked. I told her I'd have a go with it but I was unable o go into download or recovery mode. Windows detects it as a Qualcomm Usb loader of some sort.
I was wondering if there's any way to manually format or recover this using Linux or Mac OS. I have all three OS so any help I can get to get this booted up and running would be of great help. I'll donate to the one who led me to get this stupid thing working again. Thanks! ?

Well QPST still recognizes the phone as a device but there are no data that can fix the problem on the motherboard. Tried to used the kdz file and it recognized the phone but there was no data like the modem or the IMEI to recognize it. As a result the only way you can fix it if somehow you get all files from modem to boot imgs. Tried that for two weeks straight and no solution. So apparently gave up and gave it to LG. There are no solutions at this moment

Help soft unbricking lg g3 d855 [no download mode and PC can't recognize it]

I was factory resetting phone because it was having some problems with the camera, and that's when I accidentally dropped it, causing it to soft brick (I can turn it on, but it stays on the LG logo, and as I said, I can't enter download mode. However, I can access recovery mode). The problem is that I can't make the computer to recognize it (when I connect it, it doesn't appear any port option, only the universal serial bus controllers followed by an "unknown device". This happened before I bricked my phone.), which makes the situation even harder. Besides opening it and retrieving the mainboard, is there any other option? because I'm not 100% positive that I'm not going to be able to do that. PLEASE help!
*I'm not an expert with phones, so if there's an answer, try to say it on the most detailed and basic way, if possible
Dropping it wont cause a softbrick in your case theres two possiblitys either A u droped it and damaged internally or B when u dropped it the battery fell out while resetting and uve corupted a file but probly the first. Either way this guide is for the g2 but it may give u some insight. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142

I did everything and nothing happened. I pulled the battery, put it back, hold the up button and then plug usb and again the lg logo came for a few seconds, followed by a charging battery animation. Once I plug in the usb, I hear the typical windows sound that you get when you connect a device, but it says that an unknown device has connected.

My problem is that my PC won't eecognize the phone, so when I execute a command in fastboot mode, the window stays in < waiting for device >, and I guess that stays until you connect your device.
Also, I'm having trouble understanding the concept of fastboot mode, is it the same as download mode, recovery mode, or it has nothing to do with that?

i am having the same problem since this morning.
Phone is bootlooping again and again. Cant enter recovery/download mode.
but some how just now managed to get into download mode, flashed stock kdz, it installed completely (100%), but again when it rebooted after the flash, same boot loops have started and am not able to get through.
this problem is really weird.
Any clue on how to check if i have a Qualcom port or LG port?
You have to force it into the qualcom port with the pin shorting guide

I didn't had the same issue as you, but had a similiar one (phone didn't get discovered neither by LGUP nor LG Flash Tool). Yesterday I fixed it by following this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
In particular the part where you change your device to COM41 in the device manager.
After you get it discovered by LG Flash Tool flash an official KDZ.
Reboot the phone and connect it to your Windows, allow the connection from the phone screen.
It should promt you to install drivers on the computer, do that (they are different from LG Drivers you download from the web mind you)
Now you can change your COM port back to 3 and everything should be fully discoverable by both LGUP and LG Flash Tool.
I think I replied to you on reddit (same photo) Have you tried plugging the phone in while in download mode ? Did you try installing drivers from the internet ? Coz thats how I fixed the same problem you have.

You asked for other people's time to help you, but now you don't have time to explain how you made it work?
Yeah... there MIGHT be other people with the same problem, but why would you care to share.
What an as*hole you are. Another typical new buttuser ruining a great dev community.
exactly

Exactly, here I am running around in circles over this BOOST Stylo 2, just got it with MM 6.0.1 out of the box 2 days ago. I caught the 454.4mb update it has been trying to do! Got that baby downloaded! 1.02gb unzipped and renamed to kdz. Got a script for Terminal that will replace Kingroot's temp root with SuperSU but I am not going to attempt any further until I know LGUP will recognize and flash my .zip the bas****s deem not worth enough to put up for download on LG's site!
I got LGUP to recognize it in download mode, reads out LGLS775 but still says it cannot open it...............
His info on how he got it to work would prolly have solved this dillema..............
oh well
zach
ok had a LG G3 that's done this- as long as you can get download mode it should recover, YOU need to use the LG mobile support tool from LG website ( LG UP sees phone as unknown model ) run LG mobile Support tool and in option choose UPGRADE RECOVERY . follow instructions and allow to start process, it took 57 minutes to repair my phone - it will seem frozen anywhere from 0% to about 22% JUST WAIT IT OUT!! lg up / twrp flashes in 5 to 10 mins -- the LG m.s.t writes block by block and takes 1 hour +
so hints and info took 3 goes to find and start upgrade recovery - error on a couple of attempts. phone seems frozen around 10% and 15% of firmware upload -- go make a coffee drink it, go pee then come back and worry! A watched pot never boils!....

It didn't. It's EVEN MORE broken :'(
I figured out how to get my PC to recognize my D851. Apparently all the LG software didn't like how many COM ports I have. As soon as I unplugged everything else from my PC, the software worked. In this case, it was LG Flash Tool 2014, but I couldn't get any of them to work before.
Try running LGUP as Admin!!! For me it worked!

Hope someone can help me. I flashed a rom for a d855, d855g30 I think, and although I can access download mode all aps for flashing fail saying it's the wrong model number. Even the generic DLL file cant trick it. It still starts booting the rom but boot loops before entering. I no longer have twrp and when I try to do safe mode or factory reset I get a boot validation error or something similar. Just seem to be stuck. Im using a VS985.
One cause of LGUP "UNKNOWN"
While an old thread, it'll be found in searches. For anybody who gets "UNKNOWN" device with LGUP for the LG G3, I found that LGUP for the G3 is often distributed with the wrong DLL file. See the details here, post #11. After installing LGUP, make sure that the "model" subdirectory in the LGUP program directory is the same number as the processor in your phone, in my case c:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\8974 (was 8994 with the "LGUP for G3" I downloaded).
