[Q] Anyone else have a gap like this? - Moto 360

There is a small gap between the face and the body on my watch. Does anyone else have this as well?

Wow that's weird. Return that one! Definitely not ip67

Mine doesn't do this, but the two I have show stuck pixels. The quality control (if there is any) on these things is really disheartening. Dead pixels and now things like this start showing up?!? They hyped the watch for months, you'd think they could figure out how to make it correctly?

I talked with Moto support and they escalated it saying they hadn't seen that issue before. Since I bought it from Best Buy just 2 days prior they recommended I take it back and get another.
Well of course they are out so I just got a refund. Back to the waiting game again. :crying:

just checked mine, doesnt have it.

Went back to BB today and they had a silver. No gap, no stuck pixels, and it's charging as we speak. Since I used it for a few days before having to return it, I really missed some of the functionality. Will be nice to have one again. :victory:

Nope. Mine just had a gap like this on the left but not the right

Is this thing in my screen normal?

Hi,
I bought a Galaxy Nexus phone yesterday, and last night I noticed this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you see, the screen looks a bit more reddish on a side and a little more greenish on the other. It's more noticeable with low brightness levels, especially when displaying white backgrounds.
Is this normal on these phones? Should I get a refund and / or replacement?
Thanks!
These screens have some issues at lower brightness levels.. that's just the screen though. In your case I guess it would come down to how much it bothers you really

Well, it does. I know these screen have some other issues, such as some noise and granularity, but as far as I've read this is not a common issue. Hence the question, do you guys have it too?

Hallo my friend, seems like we are in the same boat. We have a screen issue thread over 60+ pages in galaxy note Q & A.
check this thread out
The issue u see are definitely associated with these Amoled screens, but the biggest problem of all is the ignorance from everybody thinking it is NORMAL.
Where i say its NOT NORMAL
And still everybody thinks is NORMAL & continue to think they hv the best Super Amoled screen in the world.
I m getting frustrated...
I'd assume that's not normal and it would bother the crap out of me. Try getting a replacement?
try Franco Kernel as it fixes the color... if you buy his app you will be able to control the color to your liking.
but this is definitely not normal

Er, well. If you agree that it's not the way the screen should look, I think I'll get a replacement rather than mess with the kernel. I'll let you know how it went, thanks guys.

Will Verizon Warranty My Nexus?

About a week ago I started having the same issue as the person who started this thread:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/25020-screen-pixelated/
Now my question is, I have a ding in the casing of my phone that happened long before the screen issues. Would Verizon warranty my phone even with the ding in it? Seeing how the screen problems aren't related to the ding? And if they were to, would they charge me full retail for the replacement phone once they get my old one and see the ding?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Here's a picture of the ding in case anyone asks.
It looks worse in the picture than it really is.

Bad thread URL, bro. But for them to deny warranty work, they have to prove that the ding is related, so I would say you are good, as long as you arent taking it to them for the ding.

Link fixed Adryn
Thanks for the catch.
That's a little bigger than a "ding"...
As adrynalyne said, unless they think the screen issues are related to the case damage, you should be good. Kinda depends on the CS rep you get.

[Q] Magnetic macro/fish-eye lenses... will they fit?

Update:
YES. They fit. See my follow-up post below for two example shots.
Original:
I love taking photos. Which is why I'm so glad we all get to carry cameras in our pockets these days.
I stumbled across these things: http://photojojo.com/store/awesomeness/cell-phone-lenses/
They're extra lens attachments for smartphones, and they go on via an adhesive magnetic ring that sits around the phone lens. I'd love to give them a whirl but... the bump.
I'm not sure they'd actually stay on because of the camera bump. So, does anyone have them? Does anyone know if they'll work?
Just sent the seller an E-Mail, I'll let you know once I've got a reply.
If anything the rubberband lens will fit, that is an awesome idea!

Yeah that thing is cool, it just doesn't seem like the results would be on par. Still, maybe as a back-up plan!
Actually, I've had insane results with a DVD burner lens and my old SE W910 ... I could see this working pretty well.
But if you're using the words "on par" you probably have some needs for quality, while I'm just mucking around with it so don't really care as long as it's functional and looks cool.
That's a pretty cool hack, GriffinSauce. Wouldn't mind seeing the results!
For the rest of you that were curious, I found a cheaper seller on eBay (about $20 AUD) and took the plunge.
I'm pleased to announce that they fit.
First shots below.
I'm a little concerned that the stick on magnetic ring that holds the lenses on will come off in my pocket, but it came with three extras. We'll see how it goes.
Just bought this on eBay. Can't wait to use it !

Gold fading

Does anybody else have the issue that the gold ring around the camera is fading a bit? The top is almost like silver now. It is still gold on the sides though.
Curious if others are having this issue aswell.

It' called wear and tear and is dependent on your personal usage. Ever seen a glass with gold decorations? You'll see that they will come off someday so it's likely to happen on all mix 2 camera lenses as well. But to answer your question directly: No, my mix 2 is still good because I leave it in a micro fiber bag and avoid touching the gold ring because your acid mantle of the skin will not doing anything good to that ring.

Of course, I know that. Just did not think it would happen this fast (3 months without case). Was just wandering if others have this as well.
Also did not know this could happen to 18 karat gold as the phone has that advertised.

I have the phone since launch and have used it a long time with a case without camera protection, so it has been on surfaces a lot. It's still 100% gold for me, not a single sign of wear.
Still all gold for me, using it with th stock case.

Large bubble on screen

Does anyone know what could have caused this and how to fix it? I thought the battery leaked but it's perfect.

Looks like the screen cracked and delaminated. Excessive physical force... the looks like crack in the screen in the lower right corner.
Replace... and don't ever put it in back pocket.

Delaminated? Would that mean I can just replace the screen. Circuit board seems ok. I had it stored vertically in a waredrobe while I was in Australia for 2 years. Came back and it was like this. Raging cause it was a great tablet.

Maybe to took a hit you weren't aware of
Yeah if you're good with replacing the screen, no worries. Price it out vs a new better one.
Does it fire up at all?
How was Australia? Get much off the beaten path?

No doesn't fire up at all. Not a single blip. It was a handy little tablet but I guess there's better tabs out now. Still might be a good project if I can get a replacement screen cheap enough.
Yea Australia was great. Went out in Jan 2019. Lived in Melbourne, was a great city. Then covid hit and ruined everything. Got a week up in NSW before I came back, which was lucky since I hear NSW cases are on the rise.
There may be more damage. Don't waste money if not 99% sure.
