ROM Toolbox Lite

Hi all,
I just installed ROM Toolbox Lite and forgot to make a nandroid backup before changing the boot animation.
I noticed that the boot became a little longer, also with a little lag.
Is there a way to revert it aside from reflashing my ROM?
Also, I saw a feature on the Toolbox called "SD Boost".
Does it really work?
What are the cons of boosting your SD?

As far as i think...you will need to change your boot animation manually from system...you will have to download a boot animation from any site of the specific resolution provided in the link...follow the steps and change your boot animation...i tried it....it works...!

SD boost increases the speed of external sd...it makes the sd installed applications run smoother...it is applied in case of lower class sd cards...furthurmore...i suggest you to download sd boosting app from playstore...beacuse as far as i think...Rom Toolbox is not compaitable for Galaxy W...my battery icon changing attempt also caused me to restore my backup ....and disadvantage of sd boosting is that it might might might break your sd card....as far as i know...

I'm using a 8GB Class 4 SDHC.
I can't find any card in our place that has a higher class.

Same with me...nothing more than class 4...but still i do not use sd boost....but u can...many users do...just get one like Kingston or Sandisk and u r fine with boosting...but stay away from bad local sd...!

Storage Question...

Okay, you know when u go to task manager, then u click on the Storage part...
Mine shows, 3 different storage locations, and how much is stores there...
First is System Storage
Second is USB Storage
Third is SD Card Storage
For some reason, everything on my phone, is only going to the USB storage now & so I have no room left.
I have lots of games & apps on my phone... Most I "moved to SD card".. Or so I thought...
If I go to an app & it says that it is installed on SD card, wouldn't that mean that it is on the SD Card storage??
I can't figure out why all my USB storage is gone now & I have almost all my SD Card storage space still available...
What could be the issue here?? It never used to be like this..
Anyone have any ideas.as what I can do to resolve this issue..
Any input, would be greatly appreciated..

The phone saves everything to the internal storage natively. I don't remember if the stock rom labels the internal as SD card and the external as external_SD or if it's just calk's rom. But if it does that could explain why when your trying to push stuff to the SD it's not working since the phones reads internal as SD card. You could try and look in the settings if your using an app to push stuff and specify the location or there's a thread in general I believe that shows how to make your external your "internal" storage and anything new should be saved to it.

How to move games SD data to SD card ?

Hello guys, I just got my N7100 yesterday, Its a real awesome device, seriously !!
However, I had HTC Desire C before N7100, And I used to put games sd data on sd card/Android/obb
but on N7100 I have to put sd data on the phone memory, which is phone/Android/obb for example
whenever i try to put sd data on sd card it doesn't get read, like the phone reads sd data only from phone memory and it doesn't support reading sd files from sd card !
For example Amzaing Spider-man has a SD data of 1.4gb, It should be putted on SD card/Gameloft, But when I did that, the device didn't read them .. but it worked when I moved the SD data to Phone/Gameloft
and the same thing with obb files, etc
Still, The sd card works great with no problems at all !!
( my device is not rooted )

Unfortunately the device doesn't support moving games to external sd card. If you have noticed there isn't the option move to sd card in the apps settings. There are 2 ways to solve the issue but require root. If someone knows something more he should help.

I've been *****ing about this since I got my Note 2. It's complete madness and I believe harmful to android in many ways. The really annoying thing is that no-one mentions it when you buy the phone. Samsung even gloats about the GN2 and S3's expandable memory!!! They don't mention that is only good for private files and films you may have pirated! You can not ever have off-line Spotify playlist on the SD card. I filled my SD (within 1GB) in 10 days.
Maybe Google's plan is a return to the dark ages. Maybe they will start selling games on memery cards or more likely they are planning to sell Android powered game consoles!!
Consoles that would not sell if we all had the equivalent in our pockets with expandable memories and which just sat on a shelf after a 2 year contract and the launch of a new flagship.

Wow !! .. It sounds like a major problem, Could I get a solution even if I root my phone ? .. ( But with a step-by-step guide please ) ^_^

Hello , i tried to use te app you post but it only move the data to the sd card and when i open the game it says that it need to download the data.
Its anything im doing wrong? please help

im using Directory Bind from a dev here on xda it's extremely easy to use and works 100% I have over 9 gigs on my internal now and have about 15 gigs filled on my external sd. And please stop center justifying your text ^_^

when I try to install GL TO SD i get "insouciant storage available" - I seem to have lots of space deleting applications did not help...

Mediaserver draining my battery?

Hi guys I am on clean rom 3.5 with the perseus kernel 29 running his 5g profile for undervolt. I recently noticed I wasnt getting that great battery life. I installed battery stats and have noticed that something cslled media server is eating aloy of my battery. Even when I am not consuming any media. Any ideas on this situation and what I ciuld do to rectify it? Also how much battery to twitter and google reader widgets generally drain?

I had this same problem. Are you using an external sd card? If so remove it. Reset battery statistics and see if it is still draining. Also take note of what processes media server is using. I had to reformat my sd card... And put the files I wanted on it back on... Now everything works fine. Apparently I had a few files on my sd card that forced media server to be in a scanning loop.

The physical sd card. My problem was that I have used that sd card since the days of my nexus one. When I took a look at that sd card on my mac and viewed the hidden files there were some odd files on it. So I did some googling and come to find out some of those files would craft problems with Android. So I backed up all my music and pics from the sd card into a Windows system. Then I reformatted the card, threw the files back on. And voila, it worked. I have seen on other forums that people have had this problem. Some of which weren't running sd cards. .. But this seemed to fix my problem. I must also add that I didn't narrow the problem down 100%. While reformatting I also deleted a lot of files from previous applications. So that not too say that maybe those particular files weren't causing the problems.

1.For new user,using "move data" function move your game data to external SD.
(Android/data folder is moved to "external path/data" ,gameloft/games folder is moved to "external path/games",and Android/obb is moved to "external path/obb" folder in the SD card)
2.Run this program.It lists games and click 'open' to play.
3.For old version(v1.x.x). If you wanted see other games (not gameloft)
,press Menu->Click "Setting"->Check "/sdcard/Android"->back to list.
4.If you want to click the desktop icon to execute,You need to uncheck "unmount when leave" and click mount.
5.Press and hold can remove game item.
6.If you flashed new rom or updated and "GL to SD" didn't work,please clean the data of "GL to SD".

Root External to internal apps..(works only on touchwiz roms)
wanted to swap your internal sdcard and your external sdcard? Yes, you can ! ... fix this annoying thing which make your phone using only few GB when you a full 64GB or even a 32GB one...
it works with every devices with external sdcards
For example, you own a Galaxy S3 with 16 internal GB and a 32GB external sdcard > as a result, you only have around 13GB to install apps (and their data even if they install these files on the "external sdcard" since it is /sdcard which is ... the internal one >> thanks samsung for not having change the getExternalFolder() in the source *kof* )
so the application is VERY simple :
on the main screen you can choose to change the sdcards until the phone reboot or at every boots
Now, the "difficult" part (lol), in which not that I am not responsible for problem but I am here to help to resolve everything (!)
In the settings, often update the rom configuration lists with the item at the top/right button

Swap the devices

first of all, copy the internal sdcard Android folder to the external one to "update" the external sdcard and prevent bug in your apps
If your rom/device is in the list > click on it to check it and go to the main screen, then update the mode you want
if your device does not appear, you will have to customize the script
> select the original internal sdcard folder
> select the original external sdcard folder
> select the device which represent the sdcard at the system level (tricky!)
to manage the last part :
1/ click on the last option to see the whole device list
2/ seek for a vfat device (if your sdcard is a fat32 one), ext4 if it was formatted to ext4, etc...
3.a/ if you found it, click on it and go to the main screen and go back to setting screen to check if the device in custom area changed
4/ go back to the main screen and update the script if you want (boot only)
3.b/ if you did not find it, you can send me the list to help find the device, and then I will be able to update the device list, fix bugs, etc...
note-
If you have duplicated folder in the gallery, etc..., delete every .thumbnails folder in your sdcards

Whenever I was a beginner in android. This question comes on my mind y Nfs most wanted hangs and not responding for sometime. The reason I found was... Use class 10 memory card to pay games smoothly..if your game data saved in sd card.. This solved my 80% problem.. Rest 10% I solved go to settings developers options pls check force 2D acceleration so this pushes 2D graphics to work better on Nfs most wanted to avoid glitches.... Rest 10% I solved by tweaking the phone settings... For this you have to download ANY games booster applications from playstore... Thus I made a 100% success in playing Nfs most wanted without any single lag.... Last and least don't forgot to turn off power saving mode.. If will boost cpu power from 800mhz to 1.2ghz.and gpu frame rate from 27Fps to 58.8fps.. Hope this will give some ideas about to play any Hd games smoothly...

well what if i m in stock rom...there is no way of tweaking anything... and i have my game data on my phone memory only.. since i havent rooted yet..so every application and its data resides on phone memory.. ok and i am using samsung 32gb class 10 memory card with my grand...i dont think anything is working great in my phone... :crying:

To gain more power and lag free you have to root the phone and remove the Samsung bloatwares which using 80% of ram....... Think... Even I'm also in stock rom only I removed some bloatwares which using processor and ram unnecessarily. Also gain good battery life...

How to run nfs mw ... when exit ph hangs .... sd data is in internal memory ... using game booster root ... no use then also it hangs ... help ... plss I love nfs mw ..

Put data in sd card and free up phone memory make sure the sd card should be class 10 category. Don't use game booster root sometimes it works., sometimes it doesn't. Don't use any task killer. If you are using any battery saver switch off auto task killer... in developers option tick 2d hardware rending. ..switch off animations. Like 1x 2x etc. .freeze any social networking services it eats more memory in background. .if you using game booster. Check emergency restart option. ..I think you are in s2 build. Rev ert back to stock build.prop
