Is the Kindle Fire v6.3.3 rootable? - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I am hoping that someone may be able to give me some advise or point in the correct direction. I have read and search for months and have not found anything that works in rooting my kindle fire 1st gen v.6.3.3. I have tried using windows and linux pc's and nothing seems to work for me.
So I gues the first question is .....Can this kindle fire be rooted ?
second ....................................What method and proceedure works ?
I have adb installed, I have tried Soupkit, RootPlus, Burrito, KFU (all versions) just to name a few of the methods that I have tried. Nothing works, the kindle fire just keeps right on ticking the Amazon way.
Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I deleted the kernel in Kindle Fire is there anyway to re-install the kernel? The computer doesn't recognize it now either. Do I throw it in the garbage or is there a way to fix it.
Thanks, In advance.

[Q] (Q) Does the root 6.3 work on 6.3.1?

Sorry if I didn't read enough first, I read through a lot of stuff first... I have a lot of experience of android root/flashing, this is my first attempt on the kf. My KF is on the latest OTA update 6.3.1, I am trying to root and I've read the beginners guide, and I have the drivers installed and my computer shows the KF drivers as ADB like the guide showed, but adb is not recognizing the KF, it does not show up in my device list. Anyway I'm wondering if the 6.3.1 update has something to do with this? I was going to attempt root with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24124828#poststop
which is the "6.3" root.. Anyway if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.
Your looking in the right spot
I was able to root my kindle fire running 6.3.1 with 6.3 root so it should work for you too. You can also try using Kindle Fire Utility which makes is very easy too root it.
just as long as you dont get stuck like many are if you can do via adb commands go for it

[Q] Installing twrp & rom

Hello, everyone. I'm having some trouble trying to figure out how to install twrp so I can flash my Kindle Fire with ICS.
I'm having a lot of trouble trying to figure it out for some reason, this is what I've done so far.
I couldn't figure out how to properly set up the Kindle Fire Utility so I looked for an alternative
and managed to root my Kindle Fire with "QemuRoot_v1.0". After it worked, I went back to
KFU and installed the the google apps/play store using "Kindle_Fire_Utility_v0.9.6".
So the Kindle Fire is rooted and found this guide on how to install twrp but I can't figure out
how to configure it. I have installed terminal emulator, busybox, and goomanager but didn't
see the file I needed "devs/smirkis" so I downloaded the dropbox link.
I'm not sure were I should put the zip or how to flash it, different forums suggested using
a file manager and changing the extension to .apk but it doesn't work.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
Okay your headed south with this one real fast. Do you have a 1st gen. Kindle or 2nd because if it's a 2nd gen you cannot install a recovery or ics. QemuRoot_v1.0 is for the 2nd gen. Kindle small chance it could work on 1st gen. but I doubt it, which leads me to believe your kindle is 2nd gen. and your headed towards a permanent brick that there's no rescue for.
I'm gonna agree with The Pooch here, but if by a slim chance that your kindke is a first gwn, then you could just put the smirkit scripts into system/ect and try running them from terminal your self but I wpulnd recommend it because we aren't sure about your kindle yet..

Hmm.. I'm note entirely sure what it is. It's the 7in Display with 8Gb; was 159 and has the ads on lock screen (can't be taken away). Like I said I was only able to get QemuRoot_v1.0 to work, at the moment I have the Play Store, and a bunch of other apps like the terminal and droidwall.
I assume that the 2nd gen could be the Kindle Fire HD? Sorry about the late reply.
Yeah its 2nd gen. like I said do not attempt to flash a recovery or a bootloader to that device or it will be permanently bricked a really fine 159$ hockey puck!!!

[Q] root utility for KFHD 7 and 8.9

A while back I found a utility for rooting and installing other features on the 7 and 8.9 HD fire. My computer crashed and I thought I had recovered everything but I can not find the utility (I do not even remember the name of it) on my PC, and I have spent the better part of an hour searching the forums and can not find anything that looks like what I remember. when the utility started it had a list of somewhere around 20 items on the main menu of it. I know it had options for rooting, backing up, installing TWRP, google framework, and a lot of other stuff as well. Does anyone know what I am talking about and where I can find it again? Thanks for the help.

You have both the Kindle Fire HD 7" and 8.9?
I do not own both. I have an 8.9, but I refurbished several 7's and 8.9's for friends. I have a friend that recently decided he wanted me to root his kindle that I had repaired for him. he decided that he wanted to be able to do the things with his that I do with mine (rooted, google play, and a bunch of other stuff as well). When I went to look for the rooting script that I had used for mine I could not find it.
I asked because this is the kindle Fire 1: Q and A
the Kindle Fire HD 7" and 8.9 have their own Q and A sections
see 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
and 8.9" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
.
I will request that this be moved to 8.9" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
.
but most likely can find the correct thread here [REF]All Things About Kindle Fire HD 8.9

How do I root a 1st gen Kindle Fire running 6.3.4 using Linux, Ubuntu 16.10?

All of the threads that I have read are using Windows and are using a Kindle Fire version earlier than 6.3.4. None use Ubuntu. Also, that thing about getting into USB debugging doesn't seem to work with this version. Can anyone please help me. I would also like to know how to get TWRP installed and flash a custom rom onto the Kindle.
Thanks.
