Need Help With Voicemail - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Since I've had my phone (approx. 1.5 years), I've basically just gone without any voicemail service. The reason being, I'm using an unlocked T-Mobile GS3 (T999) on an AT&T service plan. My stock T-Mobile Visual Voicemail didn't work (as I recall), so I never bothered.
Now, however, I would like to have voicemail set up, and I'm pretty lost. I'm sure I'm just making it harder than it is, but I'd rather be sure. Can I just download any basic Visual Voicemail app from the play store and be good to go? If so, any recommendations?
For the record, I'm running CyanogenMod 11 m10

I think you have to call t-mobile and get it set up to work with their vvm.

I'll have to try that, thanks

[Q] Calls not being received

Hey everyone,
Used the guide about 3 months ago to root/debrand/etc my G2 from T-Mobile, flashed CM7 (not sure the version - was a while ago).
Anywho, wife broke her iPhone so I brought her over to the green side by setting her up on the rooted G2. Her carrier is ATT. At first everything worked except voicemail, but a call to ATT fixed that by changing some iPhone settings.
The problem that she's had the past few weeks is that about 30% of her incoming calls ring twice, and give a busy tone. It is not fully random, it is always the same phone numbers that do not go through (mine being one of them). The other calls go through no problem.
I have not flashed any radios to the phone, and to my knowledge she has not changed any type of settings or blacklisted me & others. Thanks for your help, its annoying to have to text "call me" as the only way through.
Sorry to bump, just wondering if anyone has any ideas on this one?
Thanks in advance
only thing i can think of is the number has somehow been blacklisted, are you 100% sure numbers havent been accidently blacklisted on your or her phone? if it only happens with certain numbers then it has to be a blocking issue

I'll double check when home from work. It wouldn't be a radio issue? If it comes down to it, do you think a wipe and install of latest CM will fix it?
very much doubt it is rom/radio related as it only happens with certain numbers, if after checking that nothing has been blacklisted then you could try a full wipe reinstall, doubt a cache wipe would help, i am fairly certain that some numbers have been accidently blacklisted though

Att might have messed up somthing. What did they change to get voicemail working? I would recomend using googlevoice if your not already. Also check too see if you have any numbers forwarded to the old voicemail. Your wife may have had custom settings for a few people? I've never owned an iphone so im not sure of the options. All forwarded calls get handled by att so changing roms wont fix it. However your phone can add/change blocklists and forward numbers. Good luck!

You guys are good! Just got a hold of her and she gave a big "oooops!" when she saw me and her mom were blacklisted. Actually, seeing as how it was just us 2 I bet it was purposeful ;P
As far as att and iphone goes, they have special backend services to handle iphone voicemails etc. She's still on the iphone data as its cheaper but on a regular voicemail setup. She's limited to 2g speeds but I heard that's due to the bandwidth used by att and on the G2?

Yea G2 doesnt support att 3g bands. Edge worked fine for me on my g1 with att. Plenty fast for maps/gps and limited web browsing, plus when are you not in range of wifi?

at&t visual voicemail apk

anyone got the knowledge or skills to determine if those on at&t with a skyrocket lte data provisioned sim featured with visual voicemail could somehow mod this app or otherwise address hacks to get it operational on gsm GNxS?
Did you ever figure this out? I just unboxed the GN yesterday and am missing VVM already...
Just use Google voice

^^^^^^ Lord, it never fails..... (*shakes head*)
Anyway, I'm not sure that getting the app to install would be enough. I really don't know whether AT&T would check to see whether you were running an approved device before delivering your VVM over the data network, or whether it would be enough to have an LTE data plan and maybe be connected to the "pta" access point?
I doubt the apk checks anything on the device. mist likely just have to be provisioned correctly on the att system. Check you features unless it says vvm on it somewhere(will ether be a seperate feature or or attaches to a dataplan) it will not work.

it doesn't install on my phone.

QUESTION?
I have a skyrocket...and now a Note.
i want this app also.
ATT said its only designed for certin devices. (doubt that)
anyway
i am thinking of cloning the apk and a little redesign and moddifaction.
Question is.....WOULD ANY ONE CONSIDER A "CollectiveVisualVoiceMail.apk"
if so...let me know!

[Q] [ToroPlus] Latest Sprint VVM

Hey guys!
Attached is the latest (5.3.1.20) sprint Visual Voicemail APK I pulled from the recently released GA series JB rom (4.1.2) for the Epic 4g touch from sextape.
I know this is a long shot: Would some one be so kind as to test this please? I know the Sprint VVM app has traditionally not worked on the Gnex and I doubt it will this time. My number isn't on my Gnex right now else I would test it myself.
It should at least install but I don't have high hopes that it will connect with carrier VM. I never understood why. In case anyone thinks to ask: I can't use the sprint GV integration because my carrier, Ting, (MVNO of sprint) doesn't support the *28 code required for google voicemail integration nor the free (as in checking VM doesn't count against minutes) conditional forwarding as a gnex on sprint would.
Also, presuming this doesn't work; I don't suppose anyone has any ideas on how to check carrier voicemail from the Gnex without it counting against minutes?
Thank ya kindly.
works great on my Evo 3D. Thanks
failed
the install failed for me with latest CM 10.1

Same issue here. I called a tmo rep and they "added the free feature to my account" yet every time I hit next at the voicemail setup menu it sits at processing and errors out with a "no response from server". I am on T-Mobile's LTE network with full signal, so that isn't the issue.
***EDIT***
Some additional info:
-Just bought my Note 3 yesterday.
-Just switched from an iPhone 5 (It was lame) that had functioning voicemail
-I have a postpaid simple choice account.
Hopefully we can get this figured out
Hey guys. A lot of things go wrong on T-Mobile bloatware. Just get YouMail from the market. Trust me it will save you so much more time and frustration. I install it on every android I have.
Just tried youmail and got an error saying that my youmail test call has failed every time. This is weird, I'm blaming the iPhone lol

Mine didn't work Since I Bought The phone. Backed up my data n restored to factory. Worked first shot. Kept getting couldn't connect to server..

[Q] How to get Metro Apps for BYOD?

Well this is kind of annoying... I'm using a T-Mobile S4 on the MetroPCS BYOD plan which is great... $55 all in (I have two lines).
The PROBLEM is while most manufacturers put their apps on the Google Play Store MetroPCS doesn't... all the MetroPCS apps (aka "bloatware" that come with a Metro phone aren't available anywhere.
This should be pretty simple, someone with a rooted phone could upload the apps. I really only want the the account management and visual voice mail apps.
I hope they fix this, any help in the mean time appreciated... the question is: WHERE CAN I GET THESE APPS?
Have you tried the metro app store, pretty sure it has that stuff.

There's a link to MyMetro (account management), post #3 and voicemail app is in metro store that was linked above.
FYI, I switched my two Metro S4s to TMO recently, but I was only able to get MyMetro to work on one of them beforehand. Hopefully goes better for you, but I tried calling them and they seemed to have no clue what the app is or how to get it working. One person said that it wasn't compatible with my phone or plan, the fact that it worked on one of them was irrelevant....customer service gotta love them.
