You can't upload larger then 1 GB error.

I tried to upload a video onto youtube from last night and I got an error saying that I can't upload a file larger then 1 GB. That's understandable and all. But when I drag and dropped the file wirelessly onto my desktop the filesize came out to be 149 MB...any ideas?
Also, if you'd like to see some disturbing tug of war that I shot check it out!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5Siz4qFwDU
I have this prob too, I cannot figure out what the deal is. the files I'm trying to upload are no where near 1gb.......anybody got any idea?
no one else has the problem???
Hah I guess were the only ones that tried to upload a video?
i have and it worked fine, 1xxmb
I am having this issue as well.
The file is 155mb, i am trying to upload via wifi, and it is saying i can't because the file is over 1gb.
really annoying.
evo you tube upload error.
Same problem with my Evo also. Trying to upload a 200MB video results in a message "cannot upload files larger than 1GB". Then of course no upload occurs. However will upload a 50MB video. Is it stuck on the old 100MB limit with the wrong message?
I too have this problem I have a 200 mb video I'm trying to upload over WiFi and it gives me the 1GB error.
Sent telepathically from my Sprint EVO.
Too many stupid restrictions on use!
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I'm having the same issue - anything over 100 mb gives me the 1 gig limit error... Are you guys rooted?
Is this a global issue, or just with those of us that rooted? I know its most likely a noob question showing off how little I understand about the rooting process - but maybe not?
Any fixes out there?
havent been able to test this myself but I'm wondering.... maybe it's a 1Gb limit not 1GB? (1Gb = 125MB)
I wonder if you'll find the actual limit near 125MB or 119.2MB (119.2 would be the base 2 MB conversion from a base 10 Gb)
No that's not it. I tried to upload a video that's about 93mb and got the same error get in was able to upload a 200 plus mb video.
*BUMP*
I'm having the same problem right now. Trying to upload a 382 mb file and it keeps telling me I can't upload a video over a GB. I know my files big, but its nowhere near a gig!!! I tried uploading off the website, and the mobile website, but to no avail. My browser closes on me every time. I tried reloading my SD card. I even tried rebooting my phone!!! I read somewhere that pixelpipe works better, but I can't find a way to link it to my YouTube, or name the video, or anything!
Apparently this is a bug in Android, and should be fixed in Gingerbread, which is a small consolation...

[Q] Force Dropbox Camera Upload Sync

Does anyone know how to force the camera shots to sync to dropbox? i took some photos earlier when not on WIFI, and now I'm back on WIFI I was expecting them to sync up to dropbox (this is how it normally works). This unfortunately hasn't happened as yet automatically and I wondered if you could manual force it?
Thanks in advance.

i think you need to look in the dropbox app settings for that
The app sync is turned on checked that before posting this :-(

Mine syncs automaticaly even if i don't have wifi and then i have.I mean, just today i was out with some friends after work, took some pictures but there was no wifi at the bar. When i came home i activated the wifi and the sync started automaticaly. The thing is that i never close an app,the dropbox is always opened.Could that be the reason?

Hmmm I guess it could be as I don't tend to leave any Apps open in the background (multitasking). I will try leaving dropbox open in the background as it would make sense I guess that if I close it the sync wont happen. I wouldn't need to leave the camera/gallery open too would I? I imagine I wouldn't.
Thanks for the advice.

Also just realised in the dropbox app I can click the folder with the arrow on the top bar. In there its showing my camera uploads saying 23 left. It says low battery, charge to resume maybe that was also the problem. Maybe it needs to be above a certain % to upload too...
Check your sync times and policies under accounts. If db is not in background services then the sync settings govern upload times

check your battery has a decent level, wont upload with a low battery.

Is there any workaround?
I mean ... it is up to the user to decide if the battery is enough or not for doing something. Let's say you have just shot an important picture but you only have 19% of the battery ... well ... i would prefer to upload that single important picture rather than keeping a couple of % of battery charge.

I am glad that someone shares my thoughts about this feature of the dropbox application. However, the situation is uncaenged; still the same problem. I have noticed that also on the dropbox forum (here: https://forums.dropbox.com/topic.php?id=55044) there is a thread dealing with this. Let dropbox devs here your thoughts about this! Maybe they will fix it! :good:
SOLUTION
JUST go to your files and manually share with Dropbox.
It will upload.
Dropbox Full ?
I manually transferred the last video , and only one not to upload , to my comp and added it to Dropbox , then I saw a little red X on the Dropbox tray icon , because that file put me over the limit .

Gradual slowdown/memory loss until restart

This problem occurred on CM10 and PA 2.99, the only two roms I've tried. I'm running hellboy's latest kernel. I am overclocked to 1400 mhz. zram is set to default.
When the phone starts, I have about 100 mb memory free and it runs great. I have removed all widgets from my home screen except Poweramp's remote.
However, after a few hours of use, the phone will run out of memory. I understand that is how android is supposed to work: all the memory is intended to be utilized. Unfortunately, when this happens on my phone, my music will turn off, programs will close, and apps behave so slowly that android will keep asking me if I want to force close them. When I look at my app manager of running apps I can see that I have no memory free and different apps are being restarted, usually 2-3 at a time. However, once they are restarted then several different apps start restarting themselves. The result is that the phone takes 5-10 seconds to switch to any action, and I also believe the battery is drained very quickly by this behavior as well. This does not stop until I restart the phone.
Is this happened for everyone else on the HTC one V and they just don't mention it, or am I the only one?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Disable them! You could simply tap on them once press the 'Disable' button.. When I was on my Stock ROM.. unrooted.. I disabled many apps which made a big difference
if u overclock u will have battery loss, and and keeping apps widgets causes the app to run in the background removing the widget may speeden up, i face kind of ur same problem, but the ROM is in the beta stage so, i cant complain much, and android is intented to reboot atleast once very day, to clear the dns and other caches

Here are my running processes:

Maps - 7.2
Maps - 10
WhatsApp 40
Facebook 20

Trebuchet - 35 mb
There is nothing there I could disable without making my phone useless, unfortunately.

Yes, but this happens after only 8-12 hours of use.
Facebook?
Whatsapp?
You have a memory hog somewhere.. Mine is working perfectly fine and I believe everyone's One V is working as mine... so it is not a rom/kernel problem. It can be a hardware problem OR an app that hogs your memory.

Maps drain battery like ****, even if u don't know all phones reboot , even they are unresponsive , the only v thing u can try is just wipe everything and start clean, that may not work but worth a try

Since everyone uses Facebook and Whatsapp, I don't think that's the problem. What do you use you listen to music? It might be Poweramp which is becoming a hog at 30-40mb while using it.

Hmm... I remember my phone getting smooth after disabling Maps... And WhatsApp is taking 40MB?? :what: mine takes just 12...! make a chat history backup, uninstall and then reinstall WhatsApp. Then check the amount of RAM it takes... And why you using Messenger when you already have Facebook? Jeez.. I chat using my Facebook app very easily... Don't use other apps for chatting.. Messenger is taking away 28MB! And yes! The keyboard! What so you do with it? Mine takes just 15MB when I use it!!

Because I frequently need to type in Chinese, a language not available on PA, I installed multiling keyboard. It is actually the lowest memory consuming keyboard of all the ones I tried. I will uninstall messenger as you suggested and also reinstall whatsapp, thanks.
edit: seems that gokeyboard has a lower memory footprint at 18 mb. Anyway, for the time being it seems that I've got around 100mb free, which is good!

Well, the problem persists :/
While listening to music, poweramp shuts off due to lack of memory and it takes 20 seconds to switch apps. This is on a clean wipe install.
Running processes are currently only:
settings - 28 mb
maps, 7.2
maps, 8.7
whatsapp 8.7
facebook 25
google services 8.6
keyboard 17
Cached:
trebuchet
poweramp
yet I have no free memory and the phone is a sloth.
I notice when the phone is first started up for the first few minutes, there are 10+ cached processes and numerous running processes- yet the system overall still has 100 mb free and it runs like lightning.

The lag issue is because of the update which has bugs, even disabling or removing bloatwares is not making it lag free. Nothing cant be done in this case i think, or you have to revert to older version of the ROM. The problem may be because of the new drivers,
And about Gallery, is it just simply showing or is it really consuming that much space in SD card
I once read @iceyhotguy's post about this gallery bug... basically it is solely Samsung's fault and we can do nothing to fix it. Try using another gallery app (QuickPic works). And clear the gallery's data but never open it again or simply disable/uninstall it... it won't take up space anymore..

Its one of the bugs of 4.2.2 I guess you can't do anything else but wipe data and cache all the time!
What you can do is that download any 4.4.2 ROM or download any other suitable gallery from the playstore

I had the same problem, it was a real pain to download. Your best bet is to try downloading on a fast network (preferably 3G).
but dude......my internet is fast.....like 250kB/s.....it shouldn't be a problem right?
Even I had the same connection speed, but struggled to download it even when I left it overnight.
Sent from my Nexus 4
so......i tried installing real racing 3 2.6 apk and i put the data downloaded in sdcard/data but rr3 doesn't seem to detect the data....it still downloads.
What to do........is 3g the only way now?
So this a problem with rr3 or my internet?
Place it in sd card/android/data, reinstall and try again.
And make sure you downloaded the data that corresponds to your GPU.
Sent from my Nexus 4
Ah....crap....i forgot the GPU correspondence thing.
That means I've to download the whole thing again.
Thanks for the help.
Will try that and report back in few days.... My internet is kinda busy with some work.
Yeah, it should work.
Sent from my Nexus 4
I want the rr3 2.6......the latest version data......
i couldn't find it.
i'm only getting for 2.3.0.
What should i do?
The incremental update to the next version might be a relatively small one. Install the old version and update. I'm not sure about the update size though.

Yeah........ok
Thanks again!.....for contributing to this silly question. (If it is)
PS I got it to work....finally...yeah!!
Thanks mate!!
No problem mate, enjoy the ride
