[Q] UnSense Rom Glitches - Verizon HTC One (M7)

I haven't posted much in these forums so I can't post on the thread of the ROM itself. I'm having some problems with this ROM.
On the newer updates of Hangouts and Snapchat the phone acts super buggy.
In snapchat the video function just freezes the screen. Looks as if I've taken a photo but then snapchat is unresponsive. I've been running this ROM for almost a year and this is the first time I've experienced this.
In Hangouts I'm just experiencing HELLA lag. Which honestly seems to be happening to the phone in general recently (about 2-3months). Whenever I chose a contact and start typing sometimes it'll just go back to the contact selection page. Sometimes as I'm swiping words won't register (in all apps).
Other laggy/buggy issues I've noticed is that the pattern unlock function sometimes lags HARD. Other times the button doesn't wake my phone for like a minute. This didn't happen before when I first started running this ROM.
Any help/insights would be much appreciated.

Have you updated your firmware to the latest? Have you tried doing a factory reset (erasing data and cache)? It sounds like firmware or something on the data partition causing it. Especially since you said you have been running this ROM for awhile and we have had two firmware updates in the past couple months. Also the data issue might he true because there could be an app that is causing this issue. Happens more often than you think.
TL/DR: try new firmware and wipe data/cache from recovery and let us know if it is fixed.

Major lag issues after system crash, barely usable

I have major lag issues when pressing the phone screen (the screen turns on sometimes 5 to 10 seconds after pressing the lock or home button), and the UI is very laggy at all times, apps like the keyboard sometimes take about 5-8 to load, and the gallery app takes sometimes as long as a minute to load.
The reason for the problem:
The problem started when I was trying to up a pic on instagram and then I opened the gallery to choose a picture, the phone lagged, thought this was something usual, waited for 1-2 mins, but the gallery app didn't load at all, the screen was black so I said what the heck, maybe a random hang, just tried to restard - phone did not respond so I removed the battery and after that the phone had major lag issues, before that I did not have any problem at all. This happened on stock android 4.2.2...
Here is what I did
I flashed stock 4.2.2, did everything as usual. wiped data after flashing and the phone was still laggy as f, I reverted to 4.1.2 which was smooth as butter and it lagged also... Now I flashed 4.2.2 a couple of times and the problem still persists. Thinking of getting it checked at the customer care centre, but before this happens I'd like to try to fix it on my own.
Any ideas, anyone ?

Tried it, lag still persists, this could be a hardware problem, as I mentiooned above the big lag issues started after the crash / black screen lag happened, so I am assuming something could have went wrong in the hardware part of the phone, softwarewise there should not be any lag, because Ive triet 4.1.2 and its completely lagless, now it lags like a mofo.
Thinking of brnging it to the customer care service, good thing the phone is still in warranty.
Dunno about the blackscreen but try using LagFix (it's on GPlay).
That app helped to me solve hanging issue I had.

Check u r RAM usage if any app is eating away u r memory coz I had same problem but not black screen and I flashed back 4.1.2 then again 4.2. 2 and did had reset then I disabled gallery app in settings and installed quick pic app from Gplay and all my lag issue solved..hope it will help u..

stability update

Has anyome else recieved a stability update on the 8.4?
yes for the US SM-T320 8.4 but I'm getting random reboots. it was fine on the earlier version, never had any random reboots. I tried to factory reset after the update but still the same. it seems to do a soft random reboot when you are doing something on the tablet and you leave it idle for a few seconds. It never rebooted while I'm actively using it even if the load is high..

Mine says device modified, I am rooted - any workaround?
I'm currently uploading the new ND3 DeOdex ROM base now. (Tab Pro 8.4 Wi-Fi)
I will also upload the bootloader firmware (Odin flashable) too.
I managed to capture a logcat but I can't seem to identify the cause of reboots, can anyone assist with that pls...

TabPro 8.4 random restarts
Hello guys
So, it appears i am not alone then.
The school i work in as an IT tech, has purchased us 2 TabPro 8.4 tablets and the one i have has given me hell so far with these random reboots.
It has the latest update and is also rooted. It has nothing to do with the root i believe as it did it before and also after applying the latest OTA update. I have now factory reset it and noticed a slight difference in the home screen where i now have 2 pages (1 home screen of course) wheres, as far as i remember, when i first turned it on it only had 1. I may be wrong though.
I didn't sign in to any accounts yet (google, samsung dropbox etc.) and left it with Google chrome and Samsung own browser open. I suppose only time will tell now. It's really bloody frustrating though because i spent hours loading all my apps again and restoring app data via Helium etc.
Another thing i noticed is that even i after wiping the tablet via recovery (Wipe device/factory reset option) it actually kept root.
New device, issues gone
Got my replacement unit from John Lewis today (i must say their service is the best i have seen) and spent hours on the device rooting it and installing all the apps i had on my other unit.
I have not encountered one single reboot so far , whereas my previous unit restarted on me pretty much 30 minutes after i first turned it on.
My advice to you is if you are having stability issues and random restarts with your TabPro 8.4, send it back for a replacement.
I installed the update also and haven't had any issues or random reboots either. The screen sensitivity fixes are great. Huge difference.
I spoke too soon it seems. It did restart on me. Twice. Once whilst caching images on quickpic app and second time installing Samsung's own office suite of applications.

What is this? Stability or Instability update? Sammy, why?
anyone who doesn't suffer from Random reboots, are you rooted?
also those who suffer from reboots, are you all rooted?
My the Theory: I think this reboots are related to being rooted or have knox void.
Mine restarted before root but after I installed the OTA update. I since rooted it but it didn't change a thing obviously. God knows how many times it reboots a day. I leave it in airplane mode with a few apps running and after a couple of hours I notice that the apps that ran on the background are not there anymore so I figured out it restarted. is there anyway to uninstall the OTA update???

Stability update
Since reverting back to old version (and rooting the device again) i have suffered 0 random reboots. Looks like the latest update screws something up.

I have two 8.4's and they both boot when I wake them up. They are rooted with Xposed, but I uninstalled Xposed and tried one without it and it still boots at random. So IMO Xposed/root isn't causing the trouble.
See my other post... wonder if that'll fix this. I'd almost rather have the reboots over the screen sensitivity problem, but either way, the tabs aren't really usable.
Rich
I have used my tab pro 8.4 now for 5 days running on the old firmware rooted and with xposed running, without a single glitch. I'd strongly advise people to avoid updating the tablets to the latest ND3 firmware.

I purchased a tab pro 8.4 a few weeks ago and was noticing random reboots several times an hour. A couple of days later I got the update and didn't see any change in reboot behavior. Couldn't link it to anything at all as it happened before as well as after rooting and adding Xposed.
Changed to Average Joe's debloated (elsewhere in the forums) and have had zero random reboots since. Also running several exposed modules without any problems. Purely anecdotal, but it appears to have increased the overall responsiveness of the device while keeping most of the good things Samsung put on top of stock Android.
New update
Samsung released a new update to the TabPro 8.4 which is supposed to improve stability and add "Kids mode" (firmware version ending with NE3). I gave it a go and the random reboots got back! wiped my device clean and installed NAI firmware and all is well again!

[Q] Rebooting.

Tablet has had quite a few random reboots in the last few days.
It's happened when I closed all tabs in chrome. It has happened after uninstalling an app. It's happened after selecting to greenify google play services - and wiped all the greenify settings. It's happened at, as far as I can tell, random times and circumstances.
It is probably kernel related but this is a new tablet for me and I'm not too familiar with any custom roms or kernels on this device. Currently running xKat v4 with the included kernel.
Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone have a fix recommendation or suggestions?
Thanks.
I got random reboots in the first couple of weeks when I first got the tablet ... Mainly when I unplugged off charge. I think I drained battery to 5% switched it off and charged it to 100% and never had any issues after that.
P.s this happened like a year ago so can't really remember much tbh - but I do know I didnt have to factory reset or anything drastic, it just fixed itself also bare in mind back then I was on stock JellyBean. Soz I can't help more.
Never had a reboot ever. Had tablet a year....still on jb rooted stock Rom.....

I'm also experiencing frequent and random reboots with my SM-P600 since the update to 4.4.2 (never had any reboots before):
First the screen starts flickering (this happens quite often using Google Chrome or playing youtube videos, but it occurs with other apps as well), then after a while the tablet suddenly gets unresponsive and reboots (sometime it reboots several times in a row).
I've already tried multiple factory resets and cache/davlik wipes, re-installed the 4.4.2 firmware using kies, but nothing helped so far.
Anyone any suggestions what else I can try?

Did you check the temperture?? download a cpu temp check and see if it's overheating. Also, is your tablet rooted??

Random Rebooting

I haven't unlocked the boot loader nor added any custom ROM on my Pixel, but last few months it started to reboot at random times. I did a factory reset and it lasted a few weeks before doing it again. I've been slow to add my old apps back to see if it was an app, but it doesn't seem to be the case.
I thought about flashing a ROM, maybe it would help haha.
Any ideas?

Do you have Pokemon Go installed? I have the same problem when that game is installed.
I don't. I don't have any games installed right now to test things but it still reboots.
Having the same problem - started about 2 weeks ago as far as I can tell. Haven't done anything to the bootloader and isn't rooted - completely stock. Seems to happen when browsing web pages, or pages with links on such as within Twitter or Google app. Not every time. Phone just freezes for about 3 seconds and then reboots. WTF?
I believe this is an app problem so try to pay attention to what specifically you are doing when it happens. Like the guy above says, happens fairly frequently with Pokemon GO since one of their updates this year-ish. I personally haven't noticed it anywhere else.
Have tried uninstalling bitdefender ... see if that makes a difference
2 DAYS LATER - seems to have solved the problem!

Random Freezing and Crashing

Hey guys, i love my pixel 3 XL its been great but it has been randomly freezing and locking up, somtimes requiring a restart.
Other time i get the system UI crashed message and then i close it and it works again. Sometimes Chrome or the camera app locks up and crashes too.
Anybody experiencing this? Any ideas on a fix, maybe the next December OTA will fix it hopefully.
Thanks

I'm getting pretty fed up of factory resetting my phone, the phone started saying it's corrupt so I ended up reflashing it and that issue is now gone, but this freezing issue happens every now and then. You really think a factory reset is worth trying? Or could have something of gone wrong with the reflash?

I absolutely would try a factory reset if things are acting strange for no apparent reason.

If you flashed the factory image it's either a hardware or app issue. Have you tried using the phone for awhile with a minimum of apps? I'd give that a try I don't think a factory reset will do anything if you've already flashed the factory image.

Pixel 3 XL crashing
I have had the same problem. My system UI crashes since new, along with other apps and the phone becomes non-responsive. I thought it was just a new phone glitch that would be fixed with an update, no such luck... I need to do a hard reboot by holding the power button until it reboots. I bought a Pixel 2 XL in August and never had any problems like this. I finally contacted Google about the problems and they RMA'd it. I never root my phones before making sure they work correctly, so this one is and has been stock, unrooted.
My wife and I have the 64GB models in Black (mine), White (hers). She's on her 3rd replacement phone for what seems to be a similar issue.
Symptoms:
When using the fingerprint reader to unlock the phone, it may not unlock for 10+ tries.
The phone's battery drains quickly, within a couple hours of barely any use, her phone might be down to 60-70%
System_UI crashes
Some apps don't seem to load quickly (Like going into messages, you see the app container, and a new chat button, but no messages load for a minute). Or she's had a straight up black screen, and the app wouldn't load.
Takes minutes to call or hang up a call and often takes rebooting to close out the phone app.
It almost seems like something is running in the background that is utilizing the CPU and causing the lag/app/battery issues.
Troubleshooting:
Factory Reset
Wiping Dalvik Cache
Replacing the phone twice through Verizon. The first replacement had the same issues immediately. The 2nd phone showed the same issues immediately, and then went away for 3 weeks since the Dec. 5th Security update, but in the past few days has returned.
Booted in Safe Mode (everything seems to be working fine however extremely limited).
We've also checked the processes and no apps seem to be running that would make any sort of impact.

Since the December update, the freezing issues I was having have been significantly reduced, but it still freezes sometimes... I am hoping the January update coming in the next week will smooth out any remaining bugs.
Any of you using a different launcher?
I had this freezing and non-responsive issue. The google rep, replaced it, he determined it is some kind of hardware issue. My replacement didn't have this issue at all (November update). However, the lag/stuttering still persists though. I had replaced quiet a few pixel 3 XL, and i am just getting tired of it. For a $1K phone, we shouldn't get mediocre quality of phone.
So my wife had been removing applications in small groups to try to narrow it down. It seemed for a week or so that she was in the clear and everything was working. Then all of a sudden she got the January update and her phone is still having issues.
Slow responding finger print reader.
System UI crashes
Unable to answer phone calls despite numerous attempts.
It still seems like there is something that is running in the background that is just using the processing power.
