Just got mine delivered today by Flipkart
The grey bad is not good, I would have preferred black one. Anyways I am going to get it changed. Will go to ambience mall Gurgaon tomorrow and search for some bands, prefer steel ones...
As soon as I started it up, It gave me the software update notification, charged it unto 80% and then installed the update. All went well
I don't have the ambient sensor on since that really drains the battery like crazy. Have it setup with my OnePlus One mobile and its working perfectly.
Sorry for the quick and unprofessional pics

I got mine on Sunday. Watch looks really awesome. Hope they bring out the black band option pretty soon.

Hey guys
Could someone from Gurgaon let me know where can I go to get a steel band for my Moto 360?
I am new in Gurgaon and don't have my car yet here. I went to Ambience mall and checked for spare metal bands in Titan but they said no after looking at my moto 360.
Any ideas where in Gurgaon can I get replacement band in steel for moto 360?
Had a spare screen protector for my oneplus one lying around so took the moto 360 screen plastic and cut the protector in the same shape. Its not neat but till my original Moto 360 screen protector comes from USA at least this will protect the screen since I have heard it does get scratched easily.

Got mine from flipkart today
Can anyone suggest me where I can find a good screen protector & bands in India ?

Any 22mm band would fit. Just make sure it is not too thick.

I am also searching for a 22m steel band for my Moto 360 .
Regarding screen protector, well you cannot get one locally here in india (even through indian online sellers)
I have purchased 1 set online from Amazon.com it got front and side protection something like Zaag shield or shield guards.
Checkout Amazon.com you will find good variety there plus Sigen is coming out with a glass screen protector by end of this month for Moto 360. That would be great, waiting to buy one myself.
For now do what i did. get a good screen protector and cut in the shape of the screen use the plastic screen protector which came with the packaging and for the time being you will fine till you get yours. The cutting will not be professional and clean but it will do till you get yours from USA. This is what I did

Got Mine delivered yesteday
Still fiddling around with it. Already getting lot of compliments on how it looks.. Lets see how it holds in the long run.. Will post Pics when i get the time to transfer them from my phone.. Loving it so far. Though i feel Android wear has a long way to go. Still a good usable and smart looking watch IMO:good:
Edit: My voice commands have broken. I read somewhere that the recent update has messed up the voice functionality of wear. I was trying to send a text to some one and it just refused to do anything. Can you guys check and revert back?

I have tried sending a text message through voice, google responded but when it came to sending the message it told me google cannot be reached now

Sony Ericsson MBW-150 OLED repairs

I have recently picked up a SE MBW-150 Music Edition... Just to be plagued with the super dim OLED screen issue.
From what I have read, there seems to be two major issues with these watches that are deal breakers for most people, as SE won't repair/replace your device unless it is still under warranty (kind of hard to do since they are out of production).
1) Battery issues. Status: solved, thanks to XDA members
2) Fading/dead OLED display. Status: doesn't appear that anyone has tackled this problem yet.
So, after being plenty pissed that the gift I had just bought myself was broken. I decided to get past it and make the best of it.... And take it apart.
--------------------------------------------------------------
If you don't like reading, start here.
The top part is just me being long winded.
--------------------------------------------------------------
There are two pieces of good news...
1) It still works after I got done snooping around inside and put it back together.
2) I think I have sourced replacement OLED displays.
I am waiting for the display panels I ordered to be shipped, and I will be the first guinea pig to see if my solution works.
After that (providing that everything goes well) I would be willing to offer repairs on a first come first serve basis for a nominal fee (cover parts, shipping, and buy me a beer lol).
--------------------------------------------------------------
If you don't like reading, stop here... Lazy.
--------------------------------------------------------------
So all in all, I really have some hope for extending the life of a product that all of us paid way to much for to get just enough life out of to get out of warranty. I really don't see how Sony Ericsson can do this to us in the first place, charge top dollar and then out right refuse to service them if they are out of warranty.
Once I get the panels in, I will post pics of before and after.
Hopefully after will be a pic of my MBW-150 Music with a working display... But there is always the chance of it being a pic of melted pieces, char marks, and bandages... Lets hope for the first one
--------------------------------------------------------------
30-Mar-2011 Update:
4-8 week for delivery of initial order of red oled displays.

31-Mar-2011 Update:
Added information on OLED displays I am trying
to work with. Link to post
--------------------------------------------------------------
This is very good news. My display went out too, but when I tried to take the watch apart something seemed to be catching, so I chickened out.
I'll be watching and waiting to see your results.
Just an FYI.
The displays I am getting are red OLED.
having the music edition, I wanted orange, like the OEM screen but I couldn't find them anywhere. Red seemed like it would semi match the color scheme.
The brightness rating was lower on red, but predicted lifespan was almost double that of the other colors.
The Executive that I have and the Classic both have white displays, so if you get it figured out, I hope you can get some of those too.

Just checked mfg datasheet. If the displays work out, white is available.

UPDATE FROM SUPPLIER:
4-8 Weeks for delivery.
UPDATE FROM ME:
Prices are looking good. My initial order was only two displays (one for the watch, and one in case I screw up). Total price with displays and shipping was just under $30 US.

Once I am certain that it will work, I will post all the info I have.
I'm not pulling a Sony and saying that I am not giving info out, just that I want to be sure that the info is actually correct first.
There's a set of 96x16 for $15 on Ebay; I was thinking they might be similar to the originals for my Executive edition (says blue). I haven't disassembled my 150 yet to see if they're the same display, but the specs mentioned hot bar contacts. My soldering skills wouldn't lend themselves to something like this, but definitely keep us posted on how this works. I would love to get my 150 working again. I hope you manage to solve this issue!

Just looked up the eBay one.
Those use a tab connector, not solder-on. And ribbon location is wrong. Good find though, I am constantly looking for alternatives in case mine won't work.

Already have that. But thanks.
Their internal photos are public through the FCC. But they applied for, and received, a permanent confidentiality status on the parts list. Which, from what I can tell, only screws us on the screen as all markings on the chips and other components are readily visible.
Been thinking about why I was holding back on specs for the displays I have on order...
Mostly holding back in case I was completely off the mark on these actually working, and didn't want to look like a dumb ass if it failed... But that doesn't make any sense, if it fails I will look like a dumb ass regardless of if people know what components I was using or not lol.
So, in the spirit of XDA, and getting things done as a community, here's what I am using.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disclaimer!!! - I don't know if these will even work yet!
If you further break your broken watch by using these,
it is NOT MY FAULT. Proceed with caution.

Truly Semiconductor TOB9M0023-R-E / OEL9M0023-R-E
96x16 pixel, 0.8" diagonal size, 31-pin, red OLED display.
Link to technical brief
Edit: Also, you will see in the tech brief that these are available in red, yellow, green, blue, and white... If they end up working this leaves us some new found room for customization.
Edit Edit: sample photo from manufacturer.

More info.
While I had an electrical engineer in my office today, I decided to pick his brain on this whole project... his verdict was that he is certain that the Truly displays will work, which leaves the only potential issue left to be fitting the face of the display into the black plastic behind the face of the watch. (Hopefully it fits right in)
Awesome news?
Yeah it sounds like good .... I Hope it Works
Waiting with bated breath
Looking forward to hearing your results. And I thought I was a fan of the MBWs!
I have 3 of them, one with the dim oled.
Anyone know where to get a replacement band for the Classic?
Thank you!!

I have three of these myself, also one with the dim LED. In the OpenWatch thread, someone posted a link to replacement Music Edition bands here: http://www.gigatel.hu/G21654. It's not in English so I can't tell if they offer the other bands or not. Maybe they're the same anyway.
Someone else bought an aftermarket tan one that looks good: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7240435
I would be interested in repairs/replacement of OLED display as well as i have the executive edition and realize how important it is when it's NOT working properly!!!

Magpul Nexus 5 field case photos *PICTURE WARNING*

My only issue so far. The sharp edge on case bezel lifts the screen protector.
*UPDATE 1*
I received my Zagg Case Friendly screen protector. It works perfect with the Magpul case. It's also the HD film and it's really smooth to the touch... Unlike the original Zagg film. I definitely recommend this to anyone buying the Magpul cases when they become available.
*UPDATE 2*
I received my first wireless charger yesterday and it works perfectly with this case. The charger is the powerbot on Amazon. And charges pretty fast.
OMG!! Cant wait to get my hands on this case, nice pics btw.
Where did you get it?
Where did you pick up those cases? I called magpul direct as soon as they made the announcement on their FB page 2 weeks ago and they said that they were "shipping to distributors." So far I haven't been able to find anyone that has them listed for sale.
I want one of these very, very bad. In fact I have called magpul monthly since November when I got my Nexus 5 bugging them to make a case. And now they have!!!
Just gotta figure out a way to get my hands on one now...
I ordered them direct from magpul. They normally don't sell direct, but I chatted with the lady on the phone for a few and she let me order them. But, they do in fact have them. So, it shouldn't be long until they show up at dealers.
are there more colors available? looks awesome :victory:
Thanks for posting those pics! I have used Magpul in the past and they are indeed great cases.
I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.
1. Does wireless charging work with this case? I assume it does but just want to make sure.
2. Do you have any dealer names to keep on the lookout for the case availability? I know Amazon sells them but not sure about any others.
Thanks.
According to their email the other week, they should have all the normal colors they make for the iPhone.
I don't have a wireless charger, so I'm not sure on that part. I can't use one one either way, because I have a Scosche Magic mount plate between phone and case.
I have no leads on dealers as of yet. I was told they are being shipped, but not to whom.

The power button has a noticeable clicky feel to it. I do find that you have to press the lower part of the button to get a consistent press, because the one raised rib goes around the edge and is the same height as the button.
The volume rocker doesn't have any clicky feel to it. Because of this, it's kind of hard to tell that there's an action unless you are looking at the screen.
Those things I can live with. I've already gotten used hitting the lower part of the power button and I don't use the volume button very much. I also ordered a Zagg case friendly screen protector to hopefully eliminate the lifting issue. Will, report back once I've installed.

Magpul told me that the first distributors that they shipped to are Midway and Brownells. Been checking at those sites several times a day with no luck so far though...
I was a little sketchy about these based on the CAD image, but these came out AWESOME. I would definitely rock one.
I really want this case. Soon as I can find it...(I didn't see it on amazon when I searched the site on my N5).
BTW, thank you so much, Rubicon, for taking the time to share this case with us.

I kind of feel bad guys...kind of. I guess I got lucky when I called last week. Like I said, they usually don't sell direct. That's why I didn't tell everyone to call Magpul asking to order.
On a side note the case has been great. It has a strange feeling to it. Rigid, but still soft textured. Can't wait to get my case friendly screen protectors tomorrow to fix the bubbles.

I can't wait to get my hands on one. Kudos to you for getting lucky.
I'm probably only gonna use the FDE case, since I'm partial to the color.
If someone want's a black one bad enough...
I'll sell the black one for $40 lol
Definitly keeping an eye on this thread. This is one of the things I've been jealous of iPhone users about.

Looks nice, but the one the OP posted is priced better. Plus shipping is only $8.00 for California so I'm thinking about going with the one OP posted and save some money.
That last one looks really nice, but with shipping is very pricey
Unfortunately the prices listed are the best we can do. After everything that we put into this including shipping supplies, material, rubber feet and Microsuede, and then we get hit with high services charges there isn't much we can do. Remember you get what you pay for. Thanks!

Hi, how much did you have to shave? Was it difficult?
D.
maybe a cm? it was fairly easy, just traced around the charger then took an exacto knife to it. might have taken me 10m or so. the charger sits up a few mm from flush, and I have to say the watch has aligned properly and started charging on the first try every time. I would only get it to charge 2 out of 3 times before

how does the charger attach to the stand? do you mind taking some pictures of it without the watch and phone? is there any padding where the phone rests? I'd worry that bare aluminum would scratch the phone. lastly,is that a case or skin on your phone? love the red sides

I've literally just blu-tacked the puck onto the stand. There is padding for the phone support, a little bit of rubber. The padding for the watch area I added myself using a bit of felt type material. And yes that is a skin on my phone I have attached an image, the back is a black matte dbrand and the size are red true color. The stand is completely modular as well so you can add any phone in any orientation.

I received this stand yesterday and I love it. It is great to have my phone and watch on the same stand. It took 2 weeks to arrive from China to the U.S. The watch stand is made to hold an Apple Watch charging puck. The hole in the metal is surrounded by a rubber grommet. The Huawei charging puck is too big to even begin to fit the hole so I temporarily fastened the puck using blue tape to the stand in the position I wanted . I then turned the stand over and filled the opening in the back with hot glue. I left the grommet in the opening which, if necessary, allows me to rotate the position of the charger if needed. Positioning the watch to attach properly to the charger is easy since if it doesn't connect on the first touch, you can slightly tweak the watch while the puck is held in place.

Thats really sad to hear, makes all of us selling online look bad. I knew that price was too good to be true as the seller is making very little if any profit, and probably doesn't care about his customers. Lesson learned
The same exact thing happened to me last week but with the second stand listed (same seller) - after 3 weeks, no stand and no response from the seller. I opened a PayPal dispute last week and the seller has not responded.
Do not buy the second item in the OP!
Really unfortunate because I have not seen another stand that has those notches to keep the watch aligned.

Had anyone actually purchased a skin yet? How do they help with the slipperiness of the phone? I'm thinking of getting the copper back and titanium black for the front.
It is amazing and interesting... Is using the skin is user friendly or do we have to do tearing job..

D brand skins are cut perfectly to size - should be very simple to install. I have used them on previous phones.
Mine was shipped last night so I'll update my results once it arrives. Unfortunately, shipping take up to 15 days

I certainly will
Well after a wait of just over 2 weeks from order to delivery I can say that it was well worth the wait.
Phone has a bit more grip now and can finally ditch the horrible plastic thing I've been using.
Application was a doddle and I'm a fussy one. Probably took 10 mins but I did spend another 10 mins smoothing the edges
Let me know if you want any more info.

That look awesome!! Thanks for sharing, I think I'll buy some
I work in car workshop and sometimes we stick those carbon-like stickers on car parts, and sometimes I use it to cover other things like laptop cover or speakers so after I got P9 it was a matter of time to use it on it...
I actually did that with my previous Xperias phones, but with P9 this is more tricky to use those stickers because it have rounded edges.
Here is my first test on how it would look on my phone:
As you can see I skipped upper part of phone, because i didnt had in home scalpel that is needed to cut such small parts. Also its first test, so edges aren't perfect.
Later I will get scalpel from work and I will try to cut it properly.
As for actual materials, we use those cheap stickers that you can buy in packs of 1x3m, they cost less than 5 Euro. Rest it standard: hair dryer, scalpel or any precision knife and ruler. That first try took me about 15 min to cut and apply.
So overall I think its better to try it by yourself before spending 10Euro on it. And even if it will not work, you still could stick it on any other device in your home
Wow, that's really slick looking!
Did you put any on the front bezels ?
Nope, I hate putting anything in front of the phone, its look weird and "cheap" and because you swipe your fingers all the time near edges its give that really annoying feel of "its gonna fell off".
I also get new idea how to make it to fit perfectly on back of the phone. I just make precise template on my computer, and then just print it on back of the sticker, and cut it with scalpel. I totally forgot that my printer support any paper, so it dont care if its not perfect A4 format -_-
Nice, looks good.
How easy do you think it will be to remove in case you sell the phone?
I never had skins on my devices before.
damn hard, it could take you almost 5 second to peel it off :]
EDIT: Here is latest try, this time with upper part near camera.
After whole day of testing I can say that its damn good looking and it really hard to accidentally peel it off, even on that small part that have less than 3mm.
Thanks for sharing! sweet pics! of course now im thinking about selling my P9 and upgrading to the P9 plus which means no DBrands for me sadly
I would rather wait for P10 that will be on market somewhere April-June(release should be March April but we can say that it hit global market month later).
I got my P9 last December, but as I said, all that moding and "more poweeer!" stuff is behind me and I just wanted good looking and good working phone, and P9 give me all that. Actually comparing to any other phone on market even mid-end ones.... they all the same in everyday usage, I was testing galaxy s7 for 3 days before getting P9 and.... nothings special, screen is better and VR(that I use and create content for it) is better, but beside that its all the same.
Today its a matter of picking phone based on look and screen size/res, rest work the same honestly, even camera that quality more depend on person who take pic rather than camera it self.
And I think Dband WILL be supporting P10, maybe not instantly but month or two later and it should be there, after all P series, especially P8 lite and P9 lite are really popular so bigger brothers should get all of that fancy addons from other companies like Dband.
Mitch thanks ty guy, I searched for some nice skins for a long time until I gave it up. Now I read this thread and I'm flashed by the website!
XtemeSkins have quite a lot of skin models. I bought a matt skin and its perfectly flush and fit my p9 . You should try it out.

The XZ1 compact is the best compact Sony have made and probably the last 'small' format phone, given that everyrthing since then has been bigger.
But don't worry, pleanty of cheap ones left on Aliexpress

The review doesn't sound like a good shopping experience. User never got the phone. I wouldn't be comfortable buying from here.

There's lots of positive reviews form other vendors, you pays your money and makes your choice
I really wanted to get another XZ1 Compact for my girlfriend. I kept seeing some, especially the blue and pink ones, at or near the price I got my own at last autumn (US$ 369).
What I really wanted though, was the black one because I love the smooth bezel-less slab appearance when the screen is off. And that was much more difficult to track down. I finally did last week though when I followed a link from the phone's page on GSMArena. I couldn't find any options to pick the colour so I just emailed them. Fortunately, they said they only had black and I ordered one for $369.99.
(Looks I can't post outside links yet so you'll have to copy and paste this one.)

What I couldn't help be bothered by though, unlike my old one, this one has a white spot where the notification light is. I asked if they had any others without it and was told that they don't have any in stock at all anymore. Does anyone know if the white LED was added as part of Rev 2?

That's absolutely not normal.
The XZ1C was discontinued a long time ago. Any unit you're able to pick up now are most likely of extremely questionable origins and highly risky.
It's probably some weird faulty third party component, maybe they did a sloppy job and didn't apply the glue properly, or who knows what.
Hope you didn't pay too much for it.

The white notification LED means that it is possibly a replacement screen. I replaced the screen on my XZ1c with an OEM screen from Witrigs.com and it has the white LED.

It could be a replacement or reproduction screen. I had the white LED on the screen I bought from witrigs.

You can't really see it in these pictures but I'll get a picture of what it looks like on the phone if someone wants to see tomorrow.
Ik heb een Sony Xperia XZ1compact zwart draait Pie Android 9 te koop. Ik heb het jaar van november 2018 tot en met augustus 2020 en ziet er als nieuw, werkt prima, reset naar de fabriek. Screenprotector erop.
Okay, just to follow up on this in case anyone comes here looking for the actual answer...
It seems the visible white dot is just part of the later revisions. As someone earlier pointed out, throughout the time a phone is on the market, manufacturers often substitute components with cheaper ones as they invest more in newer models. This seems to be the case here as my first phone was Rev 1 and every other XZ1 compact I could find was Rev 4 and had the white dot.
The annoying thing is, though, all the product images everywhere continued to show the first release without the dot. It's still hard to find a picture of the phone with a white dot.
Like I wrote December 22 I've a Sony Xperia XZ1compact for sale. It's running Android Pie 9.0 and last update date is September 1 2019, exactly 2 years after release. I've bought it new in November 2018 and used till September 2020. Also have several cases for it, originally ears, charger, USB-C cable in original box.
I bought my XZ1C used from Ebay, and it's been a great phone, but my next phone will probably be a Pixel (want the updates)... I'd love to have another compact flagship, though.

I've owned almost all of the compact Xperias, and Sony Ericsson flip phones before that.
I have purchased new XZ1c, XZ2c, XZ3, from ebay and Aliexpress and all have been good up till last week when the XZ1C, both XZ2C and one of my XZ3s all stopped being able to make and receive calls. The XZ3 although having identical firmware to the one that works is a PM-1154-BV where as the one that works is PM-1150-BV,
The XZ1 I purchased on Ebay new is box, looks like it is in fact a PM-1060-BV SO-02K, whereas it was purchased and described on the box as a G8441. The XZ2C, one is a Docomo SO-05K and the other supposedly a H8314, (but I am guessing a SO-05K flashed with H8314 firmware) both stopped working on the Australian Optus network. Optus has recently shut down the 3G band 2100mhz, but I would have thought that I could use these phones on 4G voice calls, (MMS, SMS, and internet still work fine). The XZ2C was my favorite phone so far and I am heartbroken that they no longer work on voice calls.
